Most fairy tales end with a happily ever after.

This is not a fairy tale. He is not her Prince Charming about to whisk her away into the sunset. This is a story about betrayal, lust, desire and, ultimately, revenge...

And revenge can only lead to one thing.

Tyler

He was my stranger, my visitor, my shadow in the corner of my room. He stalked me, watched me, knew everything about me. But all I could do was sit and wait. I waited for him to visit me night after night. He was becoming my addiction, my craving, my obsession. He knew every inch of me, but I knew nothing about him.

His calls himself Lotus and, as crazy as it sounds, I think I’m falling in love.

Dean

I wanted to take her, possess her, dominate her, and ruin her. I wanted to ravish her, please her, and consume her until I couldn’t take much more of her.

She will want me to kiss her. She will want me to hold her all night so that she feels a connection with me. I would make it so that she would seek me out in the dark. The one that satisfies her ultimate fantasy. A stranger who sneaks into her room. Someone who gives her the ultimate pleasure, but also seeks to give her ultimate pain. Pain she has never had to endure. Pain that will eat away at her until there is nothing left.

She was my nemesis, I was her lotus. And payback was a bitch.

I consider myself a big fan of obsession, dark, twisted, stalker stories ( last time they checked my psychological health, they told me it was related to my ascendant astrology sign which is Scorpio by the way :)) )
Most readers wrote this book is for Belle Aurora’s Raw fans. Don’t get me wrong I loved the first Raw book and ready to read third one ( skipping second one, I have doubts about that story) but I think Deviant is much deeper story touches directly to your hearts, because it’s not about a woman’s unexplainable desire for a dangerous man who never show his face and gives his name. It’s about a woman’s yearning her first and only love of her life and deep down inside Tyler knew the identity of her stalker and couldn’t understand what happened to the sweet boy who was always gentle to her.Now that sweet boy turned into a powerful man seeks for his revenge.
I liked dark stories but I also addicted to see HEAs. So I need to see the conclusion of Dean and Tyler’s story and I need to fill in the blanks about unanswered questions on this book soooo I’m all set to start “ Redemption “ now ! I hope it gives me the closure I yearn!

A Dark, Steamy And Twisted Tale Of Vengeance

Wow! I wish I had read this book a long time ago! This story was hot, suspenseful and full of mystery. I love a disturbed Alpha with less than honorable intentions. (Hey! Don't judge.) This book definitely delivered. Lotus/Dean is definitely one of my new favorite "love to hate him" guys.

Tyler, Dean and Ian were best friends until the day Dean left and never returned. While her friendship with Ian remains strong and steady over the years, Tyler has never gotten over her first love. She has spent years pining for him and secretly hoping he'll come back for her like he promised he would years ago. She has no idea that he thinks Tyler betrayed him all those years ago, or that he's out for revenge.

Admittedly, Tyler's nonchalant attitude and passive acceptance of her stalker was hard to swallow. However, I've enjoyed glittery vampires and a plethora of billionaire playboys, so who am I to judge? If I wanted everything to be 100% believable, I'd read nonfiction. Besides, with the way Tyler's stalker was burning it up the bedroom, I can't really blame the lady for being so accommodating!

I'm looking forward to reading the next book immediately. Hopefully, the tables will turn and Tyler will have Dean groveling. He really did a number on poor Tyler in this book. I'd like to see a bit more remorse and humility from the dark and dangerous Dean in the follow-up. It's the least he can do and I look forward to every second!

DEVIANT is a Love/Hate relationship between Tyler and Dean they were childhood sweetheart then Dean's parents were murdered and that's where they went their separate ways, dean promised Tyler he'll come back for her, he kept his promise, now he's stalking her. has been for 3 years she calls him "My Stranger" and he has a plan for her, a plan to destroy her.

“I’d always be watching her. And she knew now that she belonged to me. Every breath she took, every step she made, every smile she faked, I’d always be there, watching her, waiting for her.”

This story kept be riveted to my seat and anxiously waiting to see what the end result was going to be, Boy Jaimie Roberts did not dissapooint . I can’t wait to get to the next book!

What. The. Ever. Living. Hell. Was. THAT?!?

WARNING: Bitchy, snarky rantfest ahead

What was with this woman and her fucking voodoo magic? Her pussy seemed to have me under some kind of hypnotic spell

Really, dude? Really?
i like a good dark and twisty story as much as the next smutty girl, but this was just ridiculous.

 photo dirtylook_zps87fff408.gif

I don't enjoy writing negative reviews. I really don't. However sometimes, it's just something that has to be done. And it's impossible to sugar coat things. This book was a mess. A super sloppy, overt the top mess. And not even in a remotely entertaining way.

The female lead boggles my mind. I understand the fact that she has this fantasy of being "taken" by a stranger, But the fact that she knows that someone has been stalking her....breaking into her house and changing little things just to get under her skin...and her attitude is basically "Oh well! It is what it is."...Well call me nutty, but that seems a wee bit crazy.

When the guy takes it to the next level and begins having uncomfortable-to-read wild monkey sex with her, all the while verbally abusing her....well, i knew me and this book were not going to get along very well. By the time he told her to start calling him "Lotus", I knew it was time for me to make a run for the border and delete this book from my Kindle as fast as possible before my IQ dropped any further.

There is a fine line between Alpha male, and creepy weirdo. "Mr Lotus" leaps over into the creepy whack-a-do category about 10 pages in and it only goes downhill from there. I honestly didn't think anything would top Sleeves as the worst book I read in 2014, but look out people! There's a new King in town.

Well, that was really rather fucked up to be fair. It pays to read the blurb carefully – it promises that this is definitely not a fairy-tale and you better believe it. We begin with Tyler introducing us to her ‘Stranger’ and I maybe shouldn't have started this one straight after watching the pilot episode of Stalker on TV. Tyler’s ‘Stranger’ has been stalking her for three years and she is fully aware that he is breaking into her flat and moving her things around and, get this, she thinks of him only with fondness. This was a bit of a what the fuck moment for me – I'm thinking “Girl, you are way too OK with this”. She can only imagine positive reasons for his actions when, in all reality, she really should be very afraid because, unbeknown to Tyler, her stalker is someone from her past who she was very much in love with and considers her to have done him a great wrong and is now only back in her life for exact his revenge.

Yep, Tyler’s stalker is her childhood sweetheart Dean but she doesn't realise this. The story is told in alternating POV’s and also alternating timelines and Dean’s voice in the past is hard to reconcile with his voice in the present day. He’s so altered – before he was sweet and very much in love and now, it’s fair to say, he’s pretty unhinged. He’s now a super-rich crime lord and I think he must have had access to a Harry Potter style time-turner because the dude is freaking everywhere. He has his fingers in so many pies, so many different guises to hide behind and so fixated on his apparent nemesis, Tyler, that I swear I really didn’t know how he fitted it all in.

I do think this will appeal to all of you out there who enjoy sociopathic anti-heroes and a bit of dark mind-fuck erotica but, and I’m really very sad about this, I failed to make that full connection to the story and the characters which is truly necessary for me to really enjoy a book. The characters did sadly, at least for me, lack a fair bit of depth and I found them rather unbelievable and Tyler often drove me nuts with her TSTL attitude to just about everything. It did have enough to keep me reading right through to the very end because I was desperate to know what Tyler was supposed to have done and how it would all end and there are some very dark moments here and some very sad scenes but, by the time it all concluded, I’d kind of lost all belief I had in the characters and, as the shocking events of the last few chapters played out, I had pretty much lost my connection with the story and they didn’t have the impact they clearly have had on other reviewers.

Don’t let my review put you off, my opinion here seems to be in the minority, but it just fell a little flat for me. The mystery was pretty much what kept me reading and there were a few jarring inconsistencies in the ‘Britishness’ of the book that bothered me and stuck out like a sore thumb which you may not notice unless you’re actually British yourself. Also, one of the major secondary characters performs a real Jekyll and Hyde act towards the end which I just wasn’t buying and this didn’t help my belief in the end of the story.The ending does. however, leave the story wide open for a continuation as this could go in several directions from this point and if you liked a really dark, unconventional romance, this probably would work for you.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review for which I am very thankful but, and I hate to say it, I didn’t really love it. I fully applaud the author for trying to do something dark and twisted with a complicated plot shrouded in mystery but sadly it just wasn’t for me.

GENRE: Contemporary Romance
RELEASE DATE: October 27th 2014
MY RATING: ★★★★★

5 TWISTED PANTY WET STRANGER STARS

I wouldn't have given this a second glance if it wasn't recommended to me from a friend on goodreads..My very first favourite book of the year!!

This book put me through the paces, the sick twists and turns, moments of sadness, laughter, and that sinking feeling when I reached the end of the book and not exactly knowing when the next one will be out..Some would call this a dark twisted read, for me it's borderline grey with twisted sadistic aspects that kept me sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for that reveal..Lines are blurred, boundaries are crossed..I loved the dual POV's from young to present gives you a broader connection with both characters..

☆ I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you SO MUCH!! ☆

3.5 "deviant" stars!!

“She was the exception to the rule. She was my puppet for revenge.”

I should have guessed by these two key sentences in the book’s synopsis how it was all going to turn out: “Most fairy tales end with a happily ever after. This is not a fairy tale.”

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I mean, wow. Just wow.

Author, Jaimie Roberts, definitely flustered me with this one! I just did not know what was up and what was down with Dean!! And then Tyler, man, was I singing this tune for her at the end:

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I totally did not expect that from her but was glad she did it. She stood up for herself and broke the cycle!! So, why am I utterly and irrevocably distressed at the same time? :( ;[

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

And then Tyler's relationship with Jeremy. Awww! I loved him!! I won't mention who he is, or even during the next part of my review, but his relationship with Tyler was so pure and different from her messed up dealings with with Dean/Lotus. I soaked up their time together and even cried for him. His and Tyler's story, along with hers and Dean's, flow really well and intertwined very fluidly. It created more of a sense of dimension, if you will, to the characters and made me think of how fragile and destructive life can truly be.

So, the story:

Tyler and Dean were childhood best friends and one day Dean up and disappeared with a promise to come back for Tyler. Tyler, heartbroken and grief stricken, as Dean had been her first love, waited but nothing, nada, from Dean or explanation to his whereabouts.

Flash forward many years into the future, where our characters all grown up. Dean suddenly reappears but he is not the same boy Tyler once knew. He is bitter, has a hidden agenda, and has secretly been stalking and keeping tabs on Tyler throughout the years to seek his revenge upon her until Tyler is thoroughly ruined for good.

“He was a deviant who snuck into my room, did the most erotic things to me, stalked me, and knew everything there was to know about me. So, why was it that I was the one obsessing over him, left wondering whether he would ever come back? It was almost like I was lost to him now. I was once his obsession. Now it looks as though I was just as sick with it as him.”

Dean thinks Tyler to be his “nemesis” whereas he is her “lotus,” but, what was the REAL REASON for such a pure union to turn into heart wrenching, bitter sorrow?

“The lotus flower was a symbol of cause-and-effect. A live symbol of karma in action. It seemed he lived so much for revenge that not only did he wear its symbol on his shoulder, he also called himself by the flower’s name.”

~Will Dean's plan for retribution go as planned?....

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Will he and Tyler ever rise from obscurity, to right all wrongs, and have a second chance at love? Well readers, you'll just have to read to find out!

“Our relationship was based on lies and betrayal. I could never be with him knowing that…”

#A “deviant” tale of what devious lies, secrets, and sex, can do to a person!

Gah, the suspense is killing me for a bk 2!! And yet, I can’t wait for more!!

I got this book because it was on a “kindle deal” and I did not expect really much of it. It was not especially well known and did not have many reviews. Ok, the guy on the cover had a real nice six pack I could drool on.
But now I must say it’s one of the best deals I’ve got so far! My head is reeling as it was so good. So now, I’ll work my ass off to advertise this book because it deserves to be read and praised. This is a story to put on the shelf “Books You Wish More people Knew About”.

Fans of “Consequences” by Aleatha Romig, “Raw” by Bella Jewel and “Blood and Roses series” by Callie Hart will really love it.

Dean, Ian and Tyler are three childhood friends. Back and forth the story goes, between childhood memories of Tyler and the present events.

Tyler is a journalist, curvy in the right places and nearing thirty. Ian, her childhood friend has always been there for her. They once drunkenly joked they’ll get married together if always single at thirty. Tyler’s parents encouraged her to seek more than friendship with Ian, their golden boy while they were wary of Dean.
But Tyler’s heart has always belonged to Dean, since that first day he punched a boy who was tormenting her. It was love at first sight. Tyler, six years, felt “all funny in her belly” at the sight of the beautiful blue eyed boy. With her heated cheeks, he called her Rosey and the nickname stuck.

Through Tyler’s memories, we see Dean, two years older being her friend and protector. He waited for Tyler to turn sixteen before their first kiss. He knew he would have a hard time stopping at kissing and wanted to do things properly.
But they did not get the chance to go further as Dean had to disappear with the promise to come back for her. He never did.

Now a woman, Tyler has never forgotten Dean. She’s always wondering where he is, if he is married, has kids… There is always this connection she felt to him that never faded.

For three years now, Tyler has a stalker. He is coming in her house and is messing with her toilet paper, her car... He never destroys anything and she strangely never felt threatened. She never reported her stranger or talked with her friends or family. She began leaving him notes and cookies. As inconspicuous as he seems, her stranger has dark motives. He is out for revenge, patiently building the scene.

Never revealing his face, always hidden by a hoodie, he’ll soon become the night fantasies of Tyler after a fateful night at “The Mansion”. She’s always secretly dreamed of being tied up and taken by a stranger and he’ll fulfill her fantasy. She lets him take her, gets incredible pleasure from their erotic encounters, discovering her darker side. Her stalker seeks to enslave her. He wants her to need him, to crave an intimacy he’ll always plan to deny her. She has to be his, his plaything.

As she’s falling for her stalker, Tyler is torn between him and Dean’s memory. Dean has always been her first and only love. She still dreams about him and longs for him. She’d like to have Dean’s tenderness and her stranger’s rough deviance. Little does she know they are one and the same.

Working at a newspaper, Tyler has recently been given her dream job: to write her own column. People with a secret crush can send messages to their beloved through Tyler’s column “From Afar”.

One message caught Tyler’s eyes.
Jeremy is sixteen, has been sick for a long time but dreams of kissing Julie, a girl he’s seen at Mac Do. Tyler will be taken by Jeremy and soon enough will visit him daily at the hospital. That part of the story deeply touched my heart as it had a “The Fault in our Stars” vibe. Jeremy has been alone his whole life, put in foster care and always sick. He’s never got friends because “who would want to be friend with someone sick”. He says it does not bother him and puts a brave and strong face for everyone to see but it’s all an act. Tyler will brighten his days and she’ll love him like the brother she never had. She wanted to give him so much because life has not been fair to this wonderful boy. Jeremy really broke my heart and I cried fat ugly tears many time.

Every day, Tyler gets to work and then visit Jeremy. But her nights are free for kinky sex with her stranger. She craves intimacy with him but he’ll always deny it. Dean wants her at his mercy and waiting for the final blow to be delivered. But as the story unfolds, he will get caught up in Tyler. He never really stopped loving her . He is branding her (yes, there is biting an sucking involved Ladies… sigh!), owning her so no one can have her but him. At war with himself, denying his feelings, he is still determined to exact his revenge, even at risk of backlash. But his actions will have dramatic consequences and will not only destroy Tyler but have terrible fallout.

So, to make it short(er) , this book had all ingredients I expect from a really good book.

-Wonderful and well developed characters:
Tyler is strong and yet feminine, can bend but does not break. She so wanted to take care of Jeremy. Dean is all possessive alpha, domineering in bed and mafia prince.
Jeremy was so likeable, I had my heart squeezed each time I got to read about this wonderful boy with a cheeky smile, glint in his eyes but so alone in life. And Ian is…I’ll let you discover by yourself.

-Revenge. Dean was like a spider in its web: waiting, observing and planning for years. He gave blow after blow even if he was left with a bitter aftertaste;

-A heart wrenching side story, warming my soul but leaving me distressed at the same time;

-Hot BDSM sex scenes;

-the right balance between “before” and “now”, between depiction and action. It felt real, I lived the book;

-unexpected ending and betrayal.

Warning, it ends on a cliffhanger much like Raw did. The good news is the second book will be published in just a few days, Friday 3d April. Yessssssssssssssssssss!!!

WTHeck kinda fresh hell was this?!

This book just sucked. It took way too long to get to the point of why this dude felt so strongly about punishing this girl. You don't know the why of it, until about the 88% mark of the book.

"Making her pay for all that she's done"
I promise! If he said this line one more time, without telling me why, I was about to throat punch his a&&... And what was finally revealed? Sorry, but the punishment did not fit the crime AT ALL.
And I knew it! I knew that his issue was something that could have been cleared away then and there, if he just went to her when it happened. I also figured out who set the mess in motion in the first place, way before that was revealed too. Oh and how quickly that person came to an end.
So anti-climactic it hurt my feelings.

And how the heck did she truly figure it out? It doesn't tell you or show you how she figures it out by just doing a little research online. Hell, if that's all it took, she could have done that 18 chapters ago! Still even though you know what she's researching, it still didn't show or explain clearly to you how she actually connected those dots. Smh.

The only thing that was good about this story, was her relationship with 16 year old Jeremy
This was the only touching and real thing about this book. From how they met and formed their bond. It was all organically and emotionally sound. And flowed well. Too bad this still could not save this book.

The ending sucked only to leave way for a crappy cliffhanger, to get you to buy book two.
But this chick here, has left this crazy train and I will not be returning.

If you haven't figured it out yet, No. I would not recommend this read.

ONE PLAGIARIZING STAR!
Seriously?? This story was an exact copy of RAW by BELLE AURORA. But it doesn't end there. This is basically if a teenager rewrote RAW. The main characters are so very annoying! Why does Dean keep repeating himself?!?!
"I'm so evil. I don't have a heart. I hate Tyler, my nemesis. Her voodoo pussy is doing tricks on me"
He says these lines at least 10 times! I read about 50% and DNF'd this crap! This story was boring and COPIED! I'm guessing the people who have given this book five stars are either the author's friends or they haven't read the original story. If any reader is interested in the blurb and this kind of stories, I recommend you read the original story, which is very nicely written. This one is very childish, it's not dark, it was quite lame and most importantly very boring!

I literally just read the last page of Deviant. Seriously, my chest...it hurts! Deviant is so impressively fucking twisted with a side of did-my-eyes-just-drop-out-of-my-sockets from the emotional turbulence.
Waaahaaaannaaa...I even cried. I never cry while reading books.

I felt this immediate and swift connection with Tyler (Heroine). Her personality is gravitational. She's so independent and in control. Tyler's relationships with people are strong if she feels you've earned her friendship. I related so closely with her.

I had such a loathing for Dean at the start of Deviant. I wasn't sure what role he was going to play but I was nervous that if he were going to continue on as he'd started, I might have given up hope for him. Dammit man! I'm so glad that I was under a misconception.

I love how the telling of this story takes us back to the beginning of Tyler and Dean's relationship and gives little tidbits into their fierce and loyal bond.

There's a boy in this story. Jeremy. This boy! Jeremy stole my heart. This small 15 year old innocent boy burrowed down in my chest cavity and is harboring out. I'll never get over the impact of heartfelt that he rammed me with. My emotional level was at its highest and lowest while reading the interactions between Tyler and Jeremy.

Tyler's "stranger" is fucking hot!!! Demented and in need of my ass. I can't remember the last book I read where I was so turned on. Holy hell fire's! This book and the sex scenes lit me up.

I want to say so much more, but I'm terrified of giving something away. I can't do it...All I can say is that if you want one great read for the year that will give you a round of emotional reeling, read Deviant.

I may possibly add more to my review after release date of Oct. 31, 2014. Don't miss out on this one. Pre-order it now!!!

So, I finished this book a week ago, but needed time to process my thoughts and feelings about it.

THIS BOOK WAS STUNNING. FANTASTIC. ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I'VE EVER READ.

It grabbed me from page one, and held me captive until I finished. I literally read this book in one sitting. I laughed, I gasped, I got turned on, a few times had to take a deep breath and remind myself that this is just a story. But it's not just a book. It's so much more than that.

Dean and Tyler. Childhood friends with the promise of first love. They are made for each other and they both know that at a very tender age. When Dean is 18 and Tyler just 16, he tells her he has to go away, but promises to come back for her one day. He never does. She spends her life preoccupied by her job, her friends and someone she calls "her stranger", a mysterious person who seems to have all access to her life. Always in the back of her mind is Dean, and her wish that he'd return.

I absolutely love the plot line of this book. It's so intriguing and unique. This book is full of twists and turns, heartache, love, laughter, and steamy sex. I'm still thinking about these characters a full week after I finished.

I highly recommend this book. I can't say enough how much I enjoyed it. This is the first book of Jaimie's that I've read, and she's made me a fan for life.

I have read a paranormal book by this author so when I saw this dark romance I was quite intrigued to see what Ms Roberts would bring to the table that was different . There are quite a lot of stories floating around at the moment with tortured heroes and misguided heroines but this book takes that idea up to a whole new level. This is an intense story that pulls the reader in with more than one persons viewpoint and even the odd flash back to further enrich the story. This is most definitely a tale of love and betrayal but there's a feeling of anticipation and dare I say hope that kept my attention riveted as I had no clear idea of just what the outcome would be!
Tyler is a woman working as a journalist and always looking for a way up. She has an adoring family ,supportive friends but there's no place for love and romance in her life. No that's not something that seems to never come her way but when she was a young girl she had dreams, oh yes very big dreams. Dreams about a certain Dean who came into her life with a bang and somehow found a permanent place in her girlish imagination but when he just left and never returned he took something with him, Tyler's heart!
Dean has never forgotten the girl named Tyler and unbeknown to her there's a very good reason why he never returned. Consumed with a desire for vengeance Dean is secretly keeping tabs on Tyler and her life is about to go way beyond her control. Tyler has wished for someone to take her away from reality but sometimes it truly is a case of be careful of what you wish for as a stranger is about to infiltrate Tyler's life and it will never be the same again.
Well this story had so many unexpected turns and I'm still not sure if I liked the characters! This is not the ordinary boy meets girl romance no this is a twisted tale of love lost and misunderstandings that lead to all sorts of underhand activities. All through the story the reader understands that Dean is not on the side of good but as to just why the author manages to save that nugget right up until the end . As for the end well yet again it's an unexpected one and yet after all the nefarious and underhand ( not to mention evil!) things that happen I'm not sure that a better outcome could have happened!
This author has written a book filled with steamy sex scenes that not all will feel comfortable with. I hasten to add that it's a plot fueled by both lust and love as it's obvious this couple are deeply connected but do not expect a conventional happy ending as Ms Roberts thinks outside the box! I found one or two things a tad implausible if honest but it's fiction so hey ho just enjoy the ride. I was truly engrossed by this story and highly recommend to those who enjoy something beyond the norm.
I was lucky enough to be gifted a copy of this by the author in exchange for an honest review.

I don’t even know where to start this review. How about with, WTF? WOW!!!! And, OMG!!

This is one of those stories that, while you are reading it, will make you scratch your head, and the “itch” between your legs!

I can’t even begin to tell you how much Deviant freaked me out, pissed me off, made me laugh, made me cry, and made me fall in love with these characters. There were points in the book I was tempted to throw my kindle at the wall because, seriously…. UUGH! (I am trying really hard not to give anything away, because you HAVE to read this book!!)

“She was the exception to the rule. She was my puppet for revenge.”

So the two main characters, Dean and Tyler, childhood best friends and first loves…perfect for each other! There is no way around it; no way to deny it, either. But when one event occurs, it changes everything. It starts the ball rolling, building momentum, getting bigger and faster.

If you don’t read this book, I think you are missing out. It is a MUST READ as far as I am concerned.

And as for the toilet paper….. I agree with Tyler. ~ Devlynn, 5 stars

~~~
WOW!! I didn’t know whether to be disturbed or turned on while reading this book. And I have to admit that I was a little of both!
Tyler always fantasized about having a stranger have sex with her. She got her wish when she developed a stalker. For years, her stranger would just come into her apartment when she was gone and move things around. Until one night he had to have her and it was the hottest sex she had ever had. He then continued to visit her on his own terms.
“He was a deviant who snuck into my room, did the most erotic things to me, stalked me, and knew everything there was to know about me. So, why was it that I was the one obsessing over him, left wondering whether he would ever come back?”
Deviant was written from both Tyler and Dean’s point of view which I really enjoyed. It also included flashbacks to their childhoods, which I loved! Dean was the one that got away for Tyler, but Tyler was the one who destroyed his life, according to Dean. He sought revenge but as his uncle told him,
“You seek havoc, but all you’ll end up finding is despair.”
There were a lot of different relationships/friendships occurring in this book and I found Tyler and Jeremy’s relationship absolutely heart-warming. Their conversations were some of my favorite parts of this book. However, Tyler’s friendship with Ian I always found strange.
And then… holy shit! The last 10% of this book just blew me away!! I really did not see that ending coming and I certainly hope that there will be a second book.
Deviant was erotic, mesmerizing, and hard to put down! I highly recommend it! ~Tiffany, 4.5 stars
**Received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review**
This book really was a freaking awesome read. I was captivated from page 1 all the way to the end. I even stayed up until 3:00 am to finish reading this book, that's how consuming it was for me.
Tyler O'Shea has been best friend since she was a little girl with Ian and Dean. But she always knew that she was compatible with Dean and that they would be together one day.
Dean has always loved Tyler and he promised her when he had to go away that he would come back for her because she was the girl he wanted to marry and be with for the rest of his life.
I guess things don't always work the way you want. Dean did come back for Tyler but seen something that would make him change his mind. He got furious and left. Another thing, he wanted revenge because he always had it in his mind that Tyler had something to do with his parent's death.
Dean has started stalking Tyler and he's been doing it for three years. He goes in her apartment and moves things around and he even moves her car. At first Tyler was a little creeped out about it, but then she kind of found it a turn on. When she finally comes (almost) face-to-face with her stalker, she can't help it and starts giving in to his demands and does what he tells her to do in the bedroom.
Tyler and her stalker start having this steamy sex routine and boy let me tell you, these two kinky birds are just that kinky ;)
This book had it's emotional parts, especially when Tyler has befriended a little boy named Jeremy who is sick with leukemia. She gets really close to him and wants to actually be his family since he has none. He was such a funny boy and so mature for a 15-year-old.
Throughout this book I laughed, I cried, I got angry and I definitely felt the love for these two broken souls. A man who was on a mission to break the love of his life thinking that she was the cause of his despair when his parents died and she was a woman who all she ever did was love Dean and wondered when and if she ever came across the love of her life again. There is just so much suspense in this book that it makes you NOT want to put your device or book down!
You definitely need to read this book, it is so well worth your time. It will consume you and you will devour it because that's the magnitude this book has. It's captivating and very emotional.
Jaimie, I give you lots of props because this book has been in my top ten reads this year. I wish for more and I hope you will take in consideration in making a sequel because there's definitely room for a sequel. I won't give anything away, but Jaimie knows what I'm talking about ;)
If I could give this book 10 stars I would definitely do so, but since we're only allowed 5 -- hands down this book deserves all those 5 stars without a doubt
You had me until...
A lot of dark erotica books push the edge of believability and I'm okay with that. It's fiction. So she had a stalker that messed with her and moved her stuff around her house and it didn't freak her out. She named him 'her stranger' and then accepted him when he started doing freaky, nasty things to her the bedroom as well. Awesome. I'm still with ya! In fact, I was with you all the way until the end, until the stranger's identity was revealed and the true kicker? I can't even say why I'm so pissed w/o spoiling it for everyone. So... let me just say, it made ZERO sense that she would not have caught on. It's a shame really... if not for that connection, I would've rated this much higher and the sad part is the twist was completely unnecessary.
Spoiler:
Okay... two chapters in to the sequel and I feel obligated to say the author explained how it's possible nobody made the connection. I stand by my review of the first book though as I think this explanation should've been given then.
I should have known going into this book that it wasn't going to be all sunshine and butterflies, that's just not Jaimie Roberts' style. But if you've enjoyed her other books than Deviant will not disappoint you.
For three years Tyler has let a stalker into her life, coming and going from her apartment and leaving small signs of his existence behind. Why not contact the police? Well for one thing he's never threatened her or made her feel unsafe, in fact the exact opposite. Overtime she comes to rely on "her stranger" and while their relationship is extremely unconventional, it seems to work. And then he makes contact...
Dean has watched Tyler for years, much longer than the measly three years that she's aware of. His sole purpose is to get close to her and break her. Keeping his identity a secret is of the utmost importance and he has worked hard over the years to become the man that he is today. But after making contact with Tyler will he still be strong enough to go through with his plan?
This story is full of twists and surprises and doesn't necessarily have a happy ending. But it is an amazing read nonetheless and will definitely leave you thinking about the outcome long after you've finished.
I have a serious book hangover after reading DEVIANT. What an amazing book!
I was gripped right from the beginning. So beautifully written,  and those snippets of Tyler and Dean' childhood, were so sweet!
This was a HOT but emotionally charged storyline, filled with anticipation. The twists & turns in this story had me gasping in shock (and panting with desire!).
Talk about a roller coaster of emotions. ..I cried A LOT, I laughed too,  and even had palpitations and the need for a cold shower through the sex scenes!!! *fanning one's face!
Tyler & Dean' love for one another starts from a young age and a love this deep, could be dangerous for both of them!!
Tyler also meets a young man called Jeremy, they immediately hit it off and become very close. Tyler sees Jeremy has the brother she never had, and Jeremy clearly feels the same way. Their story together is beautiful but gut wrenching!
SORRY NO SPOILERS!
You must read the amazing book for yourself. ..you won't be disappointed!
I take my hat off to you yet again Jaimie. ...another fantastic book. x Can't wait for book #2 REDEMPTION.
Review by Lisa Kane
Interesting story about childhood friends Dean and Tyler. For years they were inseparable and as they got older it seemed things went from friendship to romance. But a huge misunderstanding resulted in the death of Dean's parents and a rift between them that broke them apart.
Tyler wondered what happened to Dean and why he disappeared. But in the meantime for the last 3 years a stranger has been invading her privacy-moving her belongings, her car, leaving clues he was in her apartment. She secretly enjoys it (I had a bit of a problem believing any rational person would welcome a stalker into their lives, but I went along with it for the sake of the story)
Dean has been planning his revenge on Tyler for years and the time to strike is now. Thus starts a very dangerous, sensual game between these two. But what happens when Tyler discovers the identity of her stalker and Dean learns the hard way he might not have had all the answers years ago.
Tyler is a 29-year-old Journalist living in London.
She hasn't had a boyfriend in ages....but what she has....
is a Stalker. Kind of.
She notices things being replaced in her apartment when she comes home at night...
She doesn't know why exactly, but she's not worried - rather excited by this whole 'game'.
She just hopes that Her Stalker won't end up axe-murdering her ☺
We also go back in time to when Tyler was a little girl. How she was best friends with Ian and Dean...and how she's been in love with Dean since she was six years old.
But then, when she was sixteen he just left - he told her that he would be back and that she should wait for him...but she never heard from him again.
But we hear about Dean's story.
description
Dean is back, but Dean is not really Dean at all - at least not to Tyler. She doesn't recognise him.
Dean.... the poor guy thinks he has been brutally betrayed 13 years ago, and now he's back to get his sweet Revenge by destroying the one woman who he thought would be his future.
WILL HAPPEN TO TYLER & DEAN??
WHAT'S WITH THiS MYSTERIOUS MANSION AND ITS EVEN MORE MYSTERIOUS OWNER??
WHAT'S ↓THiS↓ ALL ABOUT??
description
description
WILL ANYONE GET A HEA???
WILL THERE BE A CLIFFHANGER o.O
description
OR WILL EVERYBODY DIE AT THE END?
description
NOPE - I'm not telling you . . .
I REALLY LOVED THE BOOK!!!
This was such a gripping story!!!
First you might think: how can she let this guy do this to her for such a long time?
But we really want him to do it to her and we want them to get their Happy Ever After.
But with all those problems between them - the lies and betrayals or non-betrayals - this very long time since they saw each other years ago, and everything that happened in their lives in those 13 years.... is there really hope for a HEA??
The reader sure hopes it all through the book.
I'm not telling you how it ends of course ☺
This book had everything I need in my Stalker-Romances ☺
EXTREMELY EROTIC SCENES
SUSPENSY SCENES
FRUSTRATING SCENES
VERY SAD & MOVING SCENES
CUTE & FUNNY SCENES
Were there a few things I didn't like?
Hm - not really - maybe only that it reminded me of Bella Aurora's Raw with the Stalking and Dean's business et cetera ☺
BUT - I REALLLLY ENJOYED READING DEVIANT....
I couldn't put it down - you just have to know how it ends!!!
If you like really really hot Romances with a #SexyStalkerGuy - GO AND BUY THE BOOK!!!! ☺
I'm diving straight in by saying this is one of those books that can have you arguing with decisions about characters one minute to be fully invested in them the next.
I could not for the life of me understand why she would allow herself to be 'used' like that by Lotus. Even after the cursory letting us know that she has fantasised about being taken by a stranger, hmmmmm I had big red stop signs in front of me with this element of the story.
Now as for Dean, crikey he played his role extremely well, a couple of times his procrastions dropped to the element of a woman's voice, so for me he did appear to slip character a couple of times and he does procrastinate a bit too much. I had repeating arguments, and he argues with himself alot about how he 'doesn't' feel about Tyler.
One 5++ section of this book is the sub story of Jeremy.... and Jeepers did I bawl my eyes out on several occasions! Crikey that emotionally drained me it really did.
Coming up to the close of the book it felt a little rushed but in actual fact the last 25% was written punchier and to the point more, hence the first 75% could be edited to remove some filler bits and it would punch the whole way through. Having said that and it may be sounding a tad negative but I absolutely for the most part bloody loved this book. But to be fair on my rating because it had some highs and some lows I think 4 stars is the perfect middle ground.
I absolutely have to get my mitts on the next book, which makes me wish book 1 had been condensed a bit to fit the whole story in one book, but ahhh what the heck, I'm sold with this story, I have to find out what happens next. There is a minor cliffy, only in as much you know there's going to be a next book about Dean finding Tyler and building bridges. I'm a bit pissed this didn't complete in book 1 and I have to wait, I now wonder at how long. And I do need to beg Jaimie to ask to be let known if there are release and tour posts for it, as we get sooo booked up on our blog I'd hate to miss out on finding out when happens next.
For Dark romance lovers, this is Dark, but not hugely. There's a lot goes on in Tyler and Dean's story and it has a difference about it to the normal dark romance reads and I liked that. I liked that indeed. I would recommend this to all that follow my love of dark romances for an enjoyable read of this genre.
Seriously, very rarely after reading a book am I just at a total loss of words. Congratulations Jaimie, you are now on the list of authors who have totally f****d my mind, and had me at a loss of words.
Deviant was just freaking amazing. This is the first book of Jaimie's that I have read, and I can promise anyone right now, it will definitely not be the last!
Jaimie took me on a roller coaster I wont be forgetting anytime soon.
Deviant was the story about Tyler, a girl who had been stalked for the past 3 years, yet was not scared. Tyler basically welcomed her stalker. Little did she know, the guy in the shadows, with the black hoodie was someone she knew, or someone she thought she knew.
The whole plot was just brilliant. My emotions were a jumbled mess while reading this book. At first I hated Tyler's stalker. Then I wanted to know what his reasoning for stalking Tyler were. I mean, I knew he was mad, but why?! (Don't worry this does get answered)
Anyways, then comes the sexy part. This "stalker" was nothing short of delicious bad boy wrapped in one. He oozed dominance, and practiced it too. When he got wind of Tyler's darkest fantasy, which happened to be having a go with someone she didn't know. A night of passion by a stranger. Tyler's stalker was sure to make sure she NEVER forgot who he was, or what he did to her.
The sex in Deviant was HOTTTTT. Jaimie did exceptionally well with writing. Sometimes an author doesn't execute 2 POV's both male and female, well. Jaimie had no issues in that department. While reading Tyler's pov I understood her, I felt the words she was saying, and reading "stalkers" pov I felt like it was actually a male talking, being all dominating and controlling. YUM
Deviant was dark, and Jaimie had no shame in her game with this novel. But I loved it all the more for that reason. Deviant will NOT disappoint. Any dark/erotic, dark/romance lovers in the house??? Do yourselves a favor and one click this book !!! It will not disappoint.
Jaimie, you did awesome, honestly Deviant was just brilliantly written. You are awesome, and have created a forever fan in me!
HOLY FREAKING CRAP! I'll admit, this started out a little slow to me, and I had a bit of a hard time getting into it but I'm so happy I stuck with it! I don't even know what to say right now!
Gah!!!!! After about 58%, I got really into this. I don't even know what the change was, but the switch was flipped and I couldn't stop reading it. By the time I hit 70%, I was reading like a mad man. I had to know what happened, I was making my own speculations and trying to figure everything out. One small detail in the end confused me a little, I'm not sure if the scene I'm thinking of was rushed or if I just perhaps missed something. Anyways, the last 10% for sure, I had my mouth hanging open and was a chorus of 'What!' 'OMG!' 'No!'.
This is not the type of book I generally read, like, ever. It was completely outside of my comfort zone and I'm so happy I got into it. It was dark and twisted, edgy and mysterious, but with that said, I loved the heroine, and I could never hate the antihero (yup, that's what I'm calling him). Overall, a solid 4 stars for me, I'll read it again! The ending totally got me. I need more. Now!! Off to buy the second book, I guess!
Thank you so much Jaimie Roberts for providing this book to me through a giveaway. I will definitely be looking into your other work!
I can not believe it.. Every time I read a new book from this amazing lady I think this was a perfect story and she can not possibly do it any better.. but guess what Jaimie has done it again!
This story took me by surprise in a lot of ways but mostly because it was much darker than I had anticipated and it surprised me because I loved that it was that dark.
A story about betrayal can easily become too melancholy and fake but this doesn't and the fact that you see the story from both Tyler's and Dean's side only adds to it. This is truly a well balanced story and it takes you through a broad spectrum of emotions. You feel the loss of loosing your one true love and understand how it can be hard to move on from that, you feel the rage and the need for revenge when the one person you trust betrays you and you feel like weeping when all hope seems to be lost.. is there no turning back? well you will only know if you pick this amazing book up and read it yourself!
Jaimie I would give you more stars if I could but they only allow 5...
P.S. I LOVE the dark grown up Dean to pieces and you might call me dark because of it but I don't care :P
3.5 ish?
There's a lot of suspension of disbelief happening in this one.
First, let me get this out of the way. Tyler (who I needed to keep reminded myself was a girl) is stupid as fuck. Only she could find a man breaking into her house, car and personal space was a great man to have sex with. Only her, who was confronted with the opportunity to tell the police (whom she was about to bang) about her stalker and yet not choose to. Only she could be fine with being accosted in a club because of inane reason, and have sex again with the stalker in a dirty toilet without any hesitation, nor protection.
Sigh.
With that said, I still couldn't stop myself from seeing this trainwreck happening. It was so stupid of a plot, that it was badly good...? You know like those stupid bad horror movies. It was soooo bad but you freaking love it. Okay, might not love it but it was damn enjoyable at the very least. 😏 In the end, you didn't know whether she'll get killed or married with 2.5 kids and picket fence with the stalker. I'm voting for option 1.
This book is definitely not a fairy tale book and it is just how I like them.
I think that some of you will agree that this book tells a tale of a fantasy that deep down you would have, but wouldn't tell anyone.
Tyler is such a girl that expressed her want of a fantasy, but didn't know about how real it was about to become.
Dean I think is a character that you would love to hate, I understood in some ways the reasons behind his feelings towards Tyler. He went to the extremes of exacting his revenge, hoping that the outcome will come out in his favour.
Jeremy is a child that is older than his years and you will find yourself feeling for him, I think in the end he had his bit of happiness.
This is a read that will take you along for the ride, you will be engrossed within the pages and rooting for certain characters. It is a dark read and not suitable for readers that don't like taboo subjects.
I for one cannot wait for the next book by Jaimie.
