Ambitious but introvert, that is how I described myself.
Ever since I found out I was named after a famous classical author and poet, I dreamed to be a writer.
I began honing myself through self-teaching at the age of eight. Short stories from Filipino text books served as my guide. Meanwhile, I was 12 when I tried to write a novel. I started first with mystery but eventually shifted to romance after realizing that most publishers in the Philippines prefer romance stories. Five years later, I received my first publication deal from Bookware. My first novel is Seven Reasons to Love You.
My main genre is Teen Romance, followed by mystery/crime fiction, but I also write urban fantasy and, recently, LGBT fiction.
Some of my favorite authors are Jane Austen and Harlan Coben. I somewhat enjoy reading works of Nicholas Sparks, who apparently also influenced my writing prose, but I don't count him as my favorite author (anymore. LOL.).
When not writing or reading books, I'm surfing the internet, trying to lose weight or simply gawk. I might also be listening to my favorite singers such as Taylor Swift, BIGBANG and Mariah Carey.
Currently, I'm finishing my degree in Business Administration major in Marketing Management. After this, further endeavor for my writing career will take place. I'm also planning to develop my singing skill since becoming a stage actor and/or recording artist is one of my ambitions.
Actual rating is 2.5 stars. I have mixed feelings for this book since it's not the usual genre I'd love to read and devour and it's written in a language I'm not quite used to yet, even though it's my mother tongue. A debut novel that I would expect from a not yet fully established author, who's still looking for his own voice in regards of style and plot originality and in an industry hounded and plagued by young authors. The book's plot is something you'd see from Filipino television--a primetime telenovela that appeals to teenage girls and KathNiel/JaDin (or whichever love team that's popular, IDK and IDC) fans.
