I've read a LOT about book marketing over the years, and I have to say—this book is gold!!
Things I loved:
-I loved, loved, loved Alex's framework at the beginning of setting a goal for how many copies you will "get out into the wild" with your marketing before moving on. I loved this because (as he states), it provides a clear end goal. Yet it's not a goal that feels limiting. It's not saying, "I'm going to promote my book until it sells 3,000 copies, then give up on it and admit it's not going to sell more." Instead, it's saying, "I'm going to get 3,000 copies of my book out there, then leave it up to my book's intrinsic quality and those 3,000 readers to get to 5,000, 10,000, 100,000, however many copies out there that the world wants and needs."
-I loved the comprehensive table of contents
-I loved that the book is packed with very specific tactics and nitty-gritty "how-to," yet is organized into an overall framework that makes strategic sense and is easy to implement. (A lot of marketing advice I see is either one or the other.)
-I loved how short it is! I read or skimmed the whole thing in a single afternoon.
-I loved the breakdown of how to create a detailed marketing plan and timeline
I've been reading Alex's newsletter tips for almost 2 years. It's so nice to have all his best tips and tactics compiled into one place, easily searchable, and organized by topic.
