There are a lot of elements to this story that are hit or miss for me, like fated mates and vampires. For most of this book it was just meh on those two themes. It's not likely to pull a new reader into the fated mates trope, but it isn't a horrible example of it. It has an interesting idea with the Aparatori vampires, but focuses more on the melodrama between Eric and Thomas than lore or worldbuilding. That was a bummer, but I was still leaning toward a perfectly OK 3 star rating. Until they decided to bring werewolves into the final act to add to the melodrama and somehow turn Thomas despite Eric saying that werewolves are born that way in this world and humans just die from werewolf attacks without being turned into a werewolf themselves. But Tommy's special. Throwing all of this in at the end almost dragged this down to a single star. It tried to do things, though, and for readers more into all of these tropes I think you'll be pleased with this. I just have a limit to how much of this kind of story I can take and this just went directions that I don't enjoy.
A different take on vamps and shifters. Hot MC's with lack of communication, misunderstanding and hot sex. This is a semi insta-love, with HEA. I would love more from this world and author.
