I already complained about the romance between Tatsumi and , but I'll complain again, because wtf was that love declaration? Admittedly, I'm not the biggest fan of her to begin with, but that declaration did NOT convince me. If anything, it made me more mad, because it really highlights just how nonsensical it is that she is now somehow in love with him when there's been no build-up to that whatsoever.
What saved this volume was the part about the Jägers. I despise Run (he really likes to pick and choose his battles and when to be a good person, like, the dude EW. BIG EW.), but he's interesting to read about. Wave is criminally underdeveloped as character, though. He has so much potential, his backstory about opens up a realm of possibilities for reflection about - but nope. Nothing about that. He just . It is such a shame.
Quick thoughts: Again we get into some excessively unsettling stuff, but otherwise this is a really strong volume with interesting maneuvering going on in the fallout of last volume wrapping up a long running arc. No loss of momentum at all as several factions start to come into conflict.
Wow! Now I'm beginning to see major differences between the manga and the anime. I'm having a lot of fun reading this! Surprising this manga is as emotionally charged as the anime for me so I'm kind of gobbling it up!
The lull before the storm... This was more about the Jaggers and Wild Hunt. Wild Hunt makes me sick... such terrible people. I do like the Jaggers, somewhat. As I have said before, you can't help but feel sorry for them. Akame had very little page time in this one, but that's ok cause we got to see more of the other characters.
An unexpected, yet well thought-out ending. Looks like a few plot twists are just around the corner -either that or some characters are going to fight each other so bad it is not going to end up well.
And oh. I was not prepared to see die and that broke my heart.
Un final de esos que ponen los pelos de punta. Como siempre, prohibido encariñarse con los personajes demasiado rápido... y confiarse con la trama, pues parece que habrá bastantes giros internos.
Oh wow! I can totally understand why the anime skipped the entire Wild Hunt arc. "Disturbing"doesn't quite describe the new characters that comprise the so-called "secret police" established under the command of Minister Honest's son. Confrontations galore and a surprising death and character development. In other news... the rebellion has officially started making a push to the capital, sending things rolling onto the finale.
It's so cool to see a whole other story arc that was completely cut from the show even though it's kinda disturbing. But the Kurome reveal completely changes the story I had in my head!
blev så extremt shockad att dom faktiskt kommer någon vart med relationerna i serien. Hela wild hunt var ju fucked så rätt skönt att se dom gå. Gillar verkligen wave och kurome utveckling så kul
Overall Rating: 8/10 - Very good and well paced story, a bit original. Characters are detailed with their flaws. Their backgrounds and how they became are straight to the point and not overbearing. The psyche of numerous characters are very well displayed. Nothing dragging about this series, and the conclusion was damn near perfect. I recommend this series, although it is already popular with a tv show...
Do I recommend it: Not enough blood splatter to say yes :P
