Fanie Viljoen is a well-known Afrikaans author, living in Bloemfontein, South Africa. A full-time writer, illustrator, and artist, Fanie has written numerous short stories, radio plays, and books for children and teenagers. Three of these books have won awards for youth literature - the Sanlam Prize for Youth Literature, the ATKV-woordveertjies ('word feathers') and the M.E.R. prize for youth literature.

In die slotaflewering van die Nova-reeks gooi Fanie Viljoen nog 'n paar opwindende jakkalsdraaie met sy lesers soos die finale slag tussen die goeie grys ruimtewesens en hul bose swart vyande in die lugruim bo Nova voltrek word. Onthulde geheime, epiese gevegstonele, spanning en vreugde is elemente vir dié ryk resep. Hoewel die storie nou duidelik afgeloop is, kan 'n mens darem hoop om Lucas en sy vriende weer eendag in 'n boek te ontmoet. Viljoen het die Afrikaanse jeugliteratuur verryk met hierdie wetenskapfiksiereeks; ek sal sy volgende boeke met afwagting aankoop en oopslaan.

Fanie Viljoen enriches the Afrikaans youth literature with this exciting scifi series. In the final episode the action does not flag for a moment: everything is geared towards the climax, when the good grey aliens and their evil black enemies have a final stand-off. Excitement, joy, fresh secrets, action and tension are skilfully combined in this rich confection. Readers can dare to wish that they will meet Lucas Niemand and his friends in another book in future.
