Christine S. Feldman writes both novels and feature-length screenplays, and she has placed in screenwriting competitions on both coasts. She lives in the Pacific Northwest with her ballroom-dancing husband and their beagle.
This is the first writing I've read from Christine S. Feldman. However, I want to read more.
This is a collection of three wonderful Novella's. Each one with a unique heroine and hero. My favorite was Pastels and Jingle Bells - I could have stayed with those characters for hundreds more pages :)
Each of the stories is written with a sweet heat level, but even though only kissing is described, each made me feel breathless and the romance was intense.
I am so glad I read this collection and look forward to Mrs. Feldman's other novels.
I was given a copy of this book by the author in exchange for a non-bias review..
This novella collection brings a delightful mix of humor and romance with enough substance for the stories to be memorable, instead of just kind-of cute. They'd make for great Christmas, New Year's, and Valentine's Day reading--though one doesn't need the excuse of a holiday to read them, of course.
I had a hard time chosing the appropriate amount of star for this collection. The thing is, there was one character in particular I really didn't like. Really really not. Even if I kind of liked her in the second part of her story, because she and the hero, Benji, were really cute together. That being said, the first novella was alright. Nothing special, but enjoyable nevertheless. The second one, passed the want-to-throw-the-main-character-out-of-a-window part, was better from my point of view. Because Benji was truly adorable. And the last one really won me over. I'm not into the enemies into lovers trope, but this one was intelligently written and nothing is gratuitous. Plus, the second pair of elderley lovebirds are so cute. All in all, those novellas are sweet and nice and perfect for a christmas read !
The Heavenly Bites, by a heavenly writer Christine S. Feldman. How I absolutely love her stories. Another straight 5 star flush. Always 100% clean, 100% feel-good and with a wonderful touch of humour.
The first two parts (of the three) were so extremely good, that they would have ended up near the top of my all-time favourite book shelf. It is only the third part which was a bit less to my liking, but as you will see in the other reviews, these kinds of preferences are very personal. I think I will write a separate review of the first part.
I loved each of the darling novellas in this collection. It takes the reader from the Christmas season through New Year to Valentine's Day; with 3 unique stories that start with the women at the Heavenly Bites Bakery. These are wonderful characters with heartwarming, and sometimes humorous, stories. These are a delight to read.
This was a cute read. I thought Trish was a little annoying at first though. She got teased by Ian when she was 12 years old and 18 years later she is STILL holding a grudge! He saw a window painting she'd done on her bakery window and wanted her to paint the windows at his house. He has no clue who she is and so she plans to pretty much tell him off and then storm away instead of painting his windows. That all changes when she meets his daughter, Kelsey, the reason he wants the windows painted. She's not only being picked on at school but her mom remarried and pretty much stopped being apart of her life. Trish ends up painting the windows, grows close to Ian and Kelsey and then has to tell him who she really is. And what do you know.. the whole reason he picked on her all those years ago was because he liked her! One non-detailed kiss later and the end. Wish it was a little bit longer.
Love Lessons - 3 Stars
At first I didn't like Nadia much. She seemed overly confident and pushy. Poor Benji didn't know what hit him. And Benji seemed a little too weak in the beginning... kinda like he had no confidence. But I think that's how you're supposed to see them. Over the course of the story you saw Nadia become a little less confident and pushy and Benji became more confident and kinda took charge a little bit. They helped balance each other out. Cute story. :)
Playing Cupid - 4 Stars
I have to say this one was definitely my favorite Aimee is very spontaneous and full of life. Doyle has been hurt in the past and kind of hides himself away, not wanting to be hurt again. Aimee is bound and determined to set up her grandma with Doyle's uncle. They may be older but both are still full of life. Doyle, however, is against it. But Aimee is not one to back down. These two have chemistry and sparks start flying. I laughed out loud watching these two! He needs to loosen up and enjoy life and she is the perfect person for the job. I really, really wish this one was longer! I would LOVE a full novel of Aimee and Doyle! It would definitely be full of life, sparks, romance and a HEA! :)
The Heavenly Bites Novella collection is a sweet treat all of its own. All three stories feature the best part of romance, falling in love.
Pastels and Jingle Bells is ultra-cute. Trish’s failed plot to tell off her grade-school bully is my favorite. The story shows that folks change, sometimes in unexpected ways. Trish’s conundrum is even more interesting as time goes by and she hasn’t built up the nerve to tell Ian they knew each other before. Toss in a zombie loving kid and some Christmas cheer, and you have quite a fun read.
Love Lessons is funny and delightful. Mrs. Beasley made an appearance in Pastels and Jingle Bells, but in this one, she’s jumped right into center stage, put on her matchmaking hat, and tricked Nadia and Benji into meeting up. Nadia thinks she’s going to teach Benji how to be a ladies’ man. Benji thinks he’s going to teach Nadia how to make a financial plan. Plenty of foot-in-mouth moments on Nadia’s part. Plenty of blushing and charm on Benji’s. A romance you’ll root for.
Playing Cupid is sweet and chuckle-worthy. Aimee, the recently hired front counter worker at Heavenly Bites is Mrs. Beasley’s granddaughter. When she comes home one day to find Mrs. Beasley and a charming old fellow, she gets the bright idea to help them hook up. But everything gets turned around when she finds out the man was there to visit her downstairs nemesis, Doyle, a stodgy professor who can’t hide his disapproval of Aimee’s carefree nature. Two sweet romances, some epic arguments, and a bit of a mystery make this story a bit meatier than the other two.
Overall, I loved these novellas. They’re the perfect recipe for a feel-good afternoon, or three. Plenty of happily ever after for everyone.
I picked up this collection while it was on a free promotion. I wrote this review for the I read too much! blog.

PG - but only because a kid would be bored with it - it's too funny, sweet, romantic, delightful! There were some kisses, but nothing descriptive at all. No swearing, no sex, no violence.
This is the third book I've read by Christine Feldman, and I have to say, she's a terrific writer! This little group of novellas was just perfect for me and did what I wanted a romance book to do: entertain, and "take me away, Calgon!" I didn't know how the author was going to make such disparate characters connect enough to make the collection, but the background of the bakery was the perfect setting. These novellas are perfectly clean, and I love how the tension builds so innocently between the H's and h's of each story. LOVED THE COLLECTION.
This book has three novellas inside it and each three relates to each other. They are all three really good reads with humor and romance.
The first book opens in a bakery where Trisha is painting the front window. She all of a sudden ducks down and hides because she sees the guy who drove her crazy in middle school. Pulled her hair, called her names. She thought he bullied her...see where this is going? Gotta read this one to see Where it goes.
The second book is about her partner in the bakery and best friend, Nadia. Grammy (the older lady who is the matchmaker in their shop) decides that her account needs lessons on how to be with a girl. So she asks Nadia to meet and teach him. BUT she tell Benji something totally different HUM smell a rat here...Novella two is an even better read that one.
Novella THREE Is really good! Now Grammy (Matchmaking Grandma) is really getting good she is getting her grand daughter matched and this has never happened before. Aimee decides to turn the tables on her grandma. I am not going to spoil this one but it was my favorite of all three of them. Three novellas...all funny and all romantic. All really good reading!!
