My name is Lina Tomek.

I have a laundry list of issues, but the biggest is simple: I am a human lie detector. Literally. It isn't something I picked up on the streets or a cheap parlor trick someone decided to teach me. I was born with this curse and made a career out of it.

Now I live in the depths of loneliness, rejection, and abandonment, all because I know what a lie feels like. Truth be told – and with me, it always is – it’s driving me out of my mind.

You've already met my friends Venessa, Macy and Jules, but the fight for our city didn't end with them. In fact, it was gearing up. Detroit needed to get right, and I knew I had to light the fuse, even though it meant embracing the ability I hate.

Blinded by my need for the truth, I made a deal with a tall, determined, ultra secretive male rocking designer clothes and lethal eyes. His name is Anthony Gallo, and though he spoke no lies, I could still sense a hidden agenda.

Turns out that agenda is me.

When a girl with nothing is finally given something she knows is real, you best not try and take it. To protect it she does what any girl from the streets would do...

She goes ballistic.

My 2nd favorite in this series.

Very cool heroine. Badass.
I hope I’ll never meet her.
"Lina Tomek didn’t need anything else.
Except the truth."

Human lie detector! Not with me, please! *Lol*
She would call BS with my ‘Good morning’ *LMAO*

"Because you choose to tell lies and believe them, you’ve changed the course of your lives. Deceit is your ruler now because you refuse to see the truth.
Welcome to the real world grads; the truth is most of you won’t survive it."

If you’re looking for a sweet feminine heroine, it’s not the right book.

"I am no one’s savior. You want to be saved? Go to church. I hear they give you bread and water."

"You can’t trust perfect because perfection doesn’t exist."

"…love isn’t for everyone, but cock is."

Good hero. The best of 4! Great man!

"A real man would never hurt his woman, Lina."

Update for my friends because of the 1st book and its h Vennessa:
"I think of her as a friend," I (hero) defend, needing her to understand my motives. "Yes, I made her think I had interest but that was only to set her in Rogan’s path. I knew they needed each other and gave them both a push."

I shelved it as safe, but it wasn’t clinical safe, because of the……………….
#you’ll-never-believe-it
………… because of the h!

This one is light on drama, compared to 3 previous books.

Cute epilogue. With babies!!! *lol*

If you’re looking for a different read with untypical heroine – strong, unapologetic, brutal, sassy, damaged, loyal, a bit vulgar, unique – it may be a right book for you!

"I don’t believe in premonition, I believe in ammunition."

Hey Coach,

You changed the game! You have the best players on the team and you're shooting for the playoffs! Rally caps are on but you're already #1 in my book. Keep it up, even if it's just for my benefit! *smirk*

Sincerely,
Your #1 Fan!

You rocked this last installment of the Detroit After Dark series! I love your humor, dialect, and bad as fuck characters! Oh yeah and nice cameo (a badass realtor with an arsenal big enough to make the DPD jealous) you crack me up!

You're lucky you went in the direction you did with Anthony, otherwise I'd be going ballistic if he was anything other than perfect! I can't imagine the chaos going through your head when writing these books but keep drinking the wine, shooting those guns, and tearing shit up in the D...cuz it's working for ya! You may be batshit KrAzY but I wouldn't have ya any other way!

PS. We've GOT to find a way to get your books into the hands of M.M. Your obsession needs to pay off soon, or it may turn into something we'll see on Nightline (Realtor/Author...Stalker?) lol

This series is truly a piece of art.
4 crazy bitches planning to smash the web of corruption in Detroit. 4 epic books. A fantastic journey!
If you like rough and gritty dialogs, hilarious characters, hot sex and thick plots, you will love DETROIT AFTER DARK by KS Adkins.
Brutal, book 1, is Rogan and Venessa’s story - a raw alpha male meets his match alpha female…
Brawler, book 2, is Rafe and Macy’s story - a fairy tale romance done fucking Detroit style…
Berserk, book 3, is Max and Jules’s story - buy a bottle of Boones farm before reading!
Ballistic, book 4 – Anthony and Halina’s story - perfect ending to a fantastic and unforgettable series…
If you still haven’t read them then you don’t know what you’re missing, because this series is raw, perfect, just brilliant.
KS Adkins is an amazing author, she writes from her heart and soul and I can’t wait to read her next book, 8 MILE & RION…

Wow! What an excellent conclusion to what has got to be one of my favourite series'. Totally kick arse and completely unforgiving I've been on the edge of my seat and shouting at the kindle the whole way through...then brought to tears at the ending. I'm going to miss Venessa, Macy, Jules & Lina and can see myself rereading these :)

Adkins knocked it out of the park!
My favorite series for sure this year, in the conclusion of her master piece Lina and Anthony will take you on a nail biting journey.

It's not often you read a book and feel the characters, I mean really relate, there was something about this story that I connected with. I made quick work of finishing as I read every single word and couldn't put it down.
As the story concludes I find myself sad and lost. I looked forward to every bit , I sucked it in, I held it and retained it and I need more.

I'm not ready for this to be over, but I'm hopeful KS will pull through like the awesomeness she is and write me something else I can obsess over.

DISCLAIMER TO MY FELLOW GOODREADER
This review is my personal opinion and may contain: spoilers, quotes, rants and swearing.

27 year old Halina "Lina" Tomek is a profiler with a unique ability. From a you age, Lina was able to know immediately when someone was lying. This was often a curse that led to failed relationships, her parents beating her and those in power using her for their own gain. Where Venessa and Macy are bonded as sisters, she and Jules are the same. Jules grounds her. Lina has been been in the background. Until now. She has an important role in stopping the madness. Lina is the missing piece. It all connects back to her.

"People build up walls not to keep other pit, but to see who cares enough to beam them down."

32 year old Anthony Gallo is a man on a mission. Even if that means bringing the fourth musketeer into the shit show when the girls want her far from the front line. Anthony pulled her into the battle by dangling her only links to her humanity, her sisters. Their bond knows no limits. He knows it all comes to Lina. The under five foot tiny terror who sees the world differently than the rest.

"She is a gift. A fucking gift. A gift given to you to nurture and treasure, and you gave that gift away. I found that treasure and I'm keeping it."

Well holy fuck. Who Anthony Gallo is was unexpected and shocking. I have to say as the series wore on, book #4 became the one I anticipated most. Why you may ask? Well come on... the woman human lie detector and the man with the secrets. No really I just understood as the mystery unfolded nothing would be revealed until the end. I was not disappointed. All of it was fucking brilliant. So impressed.

Cliffhanger - no (book #4 of series)
POV - Lina, Anthony, Jules, Max, Venessa & Macy

Ballistic begins with Tony following Lina around and keeping an eye on her. He needs her to figure out the real truth behind his parents murder, but he also wants more from her, maybe more than she can give.

But as these two spend more time together and Lina does her best to find the truth about the past, their relationship gets even more complicated. Tony doesn't know which way is up or down with her, and Lina has no idea how to deal with Tony.

With these two both trying hard to make things work and working together on a case life gets full of even more complications that they may not be able to work out in time.

This book was my favorite of this series. I really loved Tony and Lina together! They made a great couple, both were complicated, and had no idea how to deal with each other. But some how through all of that they tried their hardest to make it work. I admired that a great deal in these two characters.

And the ending was amazing as well! I adored seeing the end and how the rest of them ended up too. I thought this book was really good. Filled with action, drama, romance, and of course some wacky humor.

Lina is a very observint person and can tell a liar off in a blink of an eye. She and the 3 other girls are going to bring detroit down and kill who ever it take to make sure they win.
Tony want to protect Lina from everything and he tries but doesn't always win. Lina is a bad ass.
