Sometimes what goes up is not what comes down. For two mothers on an impromptu play date with their sons at the newly constructed PlayPalace, an indoor jungle gym play land, what happens when the children are left alone atop a four-story yellow slide will alter all of their lives. When Marcia Miller arrives at PlayPalace with her son Jeremy, an ominous feeling takes over her; a compulsion to flee with her son, to get as far away from the building as she can, a sense of foreboding she can not fight. That is, until Eileen Kellerman and Kristoff arrive, as part of an unscheduled hooky day of their own. There is a history between Marcia and Eileen, turning what was supposed to be a carefree day into a tense suburban stand-off between the women. But what happens in PlayPalace–once the boys start playing, once they go quiet, once the only noise Marcia hears from the top of the jungle gym is the steady rhythm of collision–will leave all of them changed forever.
