This book is for anyone who is going through ANYTHING and is feeling down about themselves/their situations. My heart is full after getting through this so quickly. I just wish it was longer.

I truly enjoyed this book of life notes! I think it is a good, quick read for anyone who just needs to know that someone out there has felt similarly to them once upon a time.

I
FELT
THIS!

I was first introduced to the author’s writing style on Twitter. Of course limited to 140 characters per tweet at that time, I was amazed at the power behind her words. When I heard about this collection, I added it to my TBR list and was elated when a friend gifted it to me.

Each writing and poem took on a life of its own and whether it were about heartache or healing, it spoke to me. Her ability to share her own very personal experiences in such an eloquent way was masterful. I am enamored by her resilience and ability to build again, restore again and love again.

I would recommend this a hundred times over, it was just that good!

It was a good poetry book. What I didn't like was that its only 124 pages long and the rest of it is pages for you to write in. I didn't want a journal. I wanted a poetry book. But for the most part I liked it. I prefer her other book Words from a Wanderer more than this one. Although this one had more poetry and less note self situations in it.

There were times I could relate and times I couldn't. But it was an experience anyway.

I wasn't planning on reading anything recently but as I was scrolling through my pdf's I suddenly decided to pick this. And I'm so glad I did.
I read this at a time when I was looking for answers to a lot of questions but didn't know where to search for them. This book helped me find those answers and it almost felt like a friend talking to me. I'm actually so glad to have come across this and ended the year reading a beautiful piece of work. I've added some of my favourite parts from the book. ❤
I'd totally recommend this. I haven't read a lot of poetries but I can say that it isn't cringy like the rest of the modern poems you see online nowadays.

I read another poetry collection by Alexandra Elle and I think I’m officially done with her work.

Once again the poems are straightforward, talking about emotions instead of showing them to me. One-liners and short poems were underdeveloped and while I understand the personal perspectives being shown, it felt like surface writing once again. I struggled to find any depth in the complexities of her situations brought to life through the pieces.

I came across this book on my virtual shelf and jumped in immediately to read and it did not disappoint. I learned new things while reading this about -- how one should not associate the past to the present (someone we try to project what happened to us in the present so we end up experiencing the same result). I also learned the dangers of dating a writer if you're a writer, too. It may be wonderful at first but can be really painful as time went on.

I loved Alexandra Elle's Words from a Wanderer, I enjoyed this collection too but not as much as the first one. I look forward to reading her follow-up books Neon Soul: A Collection of Poetry and Prose and After the Rain: Gentle Reminders for Healing, Courage, and Self-Love.

Gentle Reminder: 1

Don't confuse protecting your heart with being too scared to try something
new with someone else, there is a difference. A lot of us have given way too
much power to our pasts. Not everyone who may want a chance is going to
use that chance against you negatively. Yes, some folks may fool us, trick us
and even hurt us but some is not all. Don't miss out on a good thing because
your past is persuading you not to pursue your future.

Sometimes forgive means sending others on their way gently.

A beautiful and heartfelt collection of poems and essays on self love and loving selflessly. I didn't expect to love this book as much as I did after reading it since I wasn't a fan of the author's first poetry book. But this one delivered really well!

So many beautiful and inspiring love notes that would help you believe in love once again ❤️

Love in my language is a contrast from the book Words from a Wanderer previously written by this author. It gives a more in-depth version of the writer that we didn’t really see in the previous book. Overall it was a nice way to learn more about the personal struggles the writer has faced.

Here is one of my favorite excerpts :

Demonstrate
Show me love, I don’t want to hear it. I’m a visual learner.

The beauty of brokeness and vulnerability blooming into strength and love and peace -- this collection of prose and poetry leads by example and reminds the reader to be gentle with themselves on this journey of discovery and growth. This is not a one and done book. You'll find yourself revisiting pieces of it again and again for comfort, companionship, and encouragement.

I thought it lacked depth, insight, and the bits of personal narrative were vague and fleeting. It was organized chaotically. The reflection prompts were boring and unimaginative. The rupi kaur style poems were undeveloped and superficial - not for me. Overall, this read was not loved in my language.

I could actually 'feel' the raw honesty in her words. Awesome!

“When I understood that forgiveness does not mean re-entry, I was able to find peace. Forgiving someone does not always equal, "come back here; please stay." Sometimes forgive means sending others on their way gently.”

Si hubiera un termino de "pelicula palomera" en libros este seria. La verdad que esta muy basico y sencillo, habla del amor en una forma muy poética y aunque si hay poemas y parrafos rescatables la mayoría es puro relleno
