The Tour is the conclusion to The a Phoenix Rising Novel
After the finale of The Stage, Mia comes to terms with where she’s placed in the competition. But that same night, Kolton and Mia will have to deal with bigger issues—their fear of fire and loss. Not everyone will survive, and the challenges that their relationship cause won’t end when the show is over.
Kolton has a secret about the choices made in a moment of survival. Is he willing to expose his secrets and vulnerabilities to earn Mia’s trust? Even though they can’t stay hidden forever when a celebrity’s life is fodder for the masses, he knows it could tear them apart.
In the midst of chaos and loss, Mia has to balance her love for Kolton with career. Will she sign with him, letting him be her boss with control over her future? Or will she go out on her own with a subpar record contract that makes her equal to Kolton in her own right?
With so many questions, going on tour could either make the answers clear or pull the weaknesses of their relationship to the surface. Will the wounds heal or will they tear until nothing can repair them?
When love burns so bright, is it sustainable?
The Tour is written and recommended for readers aged 18+ due to adult language and situations, as well as explicit sexual content.
I fully believe that a book is nothing without a reader, and am so grateful when anyone reads one of my stories. Sadie's Mountain is my debut novel. The Phoenix Rising Series book one, The Stage, was released in summer of 2014. The Tour (Book 2)is scheduled to release in fall of 2014.
The Tour really started off on a bang and once again I found myself glued to my knidle.
Mia Phoenix is a 19 year old who is responsible for her sister after her parents die in a house fire. She enters a singing competition and meets Kolton Royce, bad boy rocker...one of the judges and falls in love. :-) The Tour starts from when the competition ends. Mia has decisions to make and secrets to learn, what a incredible story.
Shelby Rebecca is my new favourite author, I loved how this story was written, full of emotion and suspence. I cannot wait for another book from this author. Thank you Shelby
I read The Stage when it was first released and I did love that book and the concept of the plot, which is similar to the show The Voice; I have to say The Tour takes this story of Mia and Kolton to a whole new level.
The show is over, Mia finds out where she ended up in the competition. The love between her and Kolton has been exposed and now they face the next phase in not only their relationship but in the contract with the show. Mia wants to earn her career with her own talent; Kolton wants to use his resources to make it a smooth ride for her. This is where the drama begins.
A flash from Kolton’s past will send this story up in flames from the beginning and recovery will be the theme for the rest of the book. Nothing goes smooth for Mia in the transition from being the sole provider for her little sister to now being recognized from the show everywhere she goes. Shopping will soon be a life and death matter and her privacy and freedom is a thing of the past. Kolton will try to warn her but Mia is a woman who must learn on her own.
Kolton will expose many of his secrets from his childhood and Mia will come face to face with his biggest nightmare. How to handle this evil situation will be like everything else in their relationship, up for debate and end in disagreement, but they always struggle to find their way back together each time. Then it is time for her to leave for the tour, without him. Secrets from the night of the final show continue to resurface, the answers are all over the internet, but Mia wants Kolton to tell her himself. For weeks people will hint about what he did that night to save her while she is miles away from him, will she finally break and find out what happen on her own, or can she keep her trust in him and wait for him to tell her?
There is more passion in this book compared to the first one, but it really adds to their story. Shelby does a brilliant job at keeping the suspense throughout the story while balancing all the adjustments we will watch them deal with. I found myself glued to the pages as I tried to see what the big secret was that Kolton was hiding, how he was going to figure out the darkness that he experienced as a child. The secondary characters played a big part in this book, emotions were out of control at times leaving me forgetting about reality and drowning in the book.
I really enjoyed this series, the characters are fun to watch and easy to love. Some might not understand Mia at first but once you see everything she is trying to deal with and learn I think she probably matured the most in this series. I highly recommend this series for a chance to sit back and just experience life as a superstar.
I bought this book at the same time as The Stage, which is something that I never ever do. I probably won't do it again either. While I like trying new authors and series, the first book is always a test for me. At the end, if I'm willing to plunk down more money to continue on with the story. I know I've found a winner.
I really could have done without this book two. I don't feel like it added much to the story of Mia and Kole, nor did it make me like either character any better.
But since I already paid for it, I read it.
The author does do a good job of creating suspense in this one. The action scenes at Kole's apartment were fast paced and did convey the fear and frustration Mia had when she was kept in the dark about the safety of the people she cares most about. Unfortunately, if you've read the blurb for the book, you already know that everyone will be okay. So that does steal some of the thunder there.
And The Tour seems to be a misnomer in its own right, because the tour itself is such a small part of the book. The novel is halfway over before the tour even begins. So if readers are looking for more of the rock star reality show antics of the first book, they will be disappointed.
What we do get here is Kolton teaching Mia about her own body in regards to sex. Kolton getting mad at Mia when she goes shopping. Kolton getting mad at Mia when she partakes in a wee bit of underage drinking. And Kolton shielding Mia from the truth about what happened at the very beginning of the book. But everyone else knows, because they Googled it.
I just didn't feel this book, and that was apparent when I began proofreading it rather than drinking it in like an enjoyable read. And there were some nails on my chalkboard moments that didn't do this story any favors in endearing itself to me.
Was it horrible? No. I'm likely in the minority here, but it just didn't push any of the right buttons for me. I couldn't really get behind the whole idea of a Kolton / Mia pairing, and even at the sort of wishy-washy HEA they get at the conclusion, I kind of wonder how in the world they could ever have ended up together.
I'm so happy I didn't have to wait long after reading book one, to get to read The Tour. Shelby Rebecca did an amazing job of finishing Mia and Kolton's story, and as much as I hate to say goodbye to these characters, their ending was beautiful.
The Tour picks up right where The Stage ended and it is another whirlwind of emotions and problems for Mia and Kolton. When tragedy strikes, and Kolton pulls away, I really was worried about what the secret was that he was keeping from Mia. I didn't agree with how he didn't tell her what was going on, but at the same time, I understand that he was so scared of losing Mia that he wanted to protect her.
All Kolton asked for in The Stage was for Mia to trust him, and even though she said she did, it really did not show until this book. How much she's grown really showed in this book, as well as her ability to fully trust Kolton and love him like he loves her.
The little family that they have built in these two books becomes closer especially after everything that happened in the first few chapters. I think this is not only what Mia needed, but what Kolton needed as well. Having this "family" of people who love you, flaws and all, helped them finally move forward from their pasts and start thinking of the future.
I enjoyed watching the back and forth and the push and pull of Kolton and Mia's relationship and the chemistry between these two is absolutely amazing. Kolton was more vulnerable in The Tour than he was in The Stage, and it really made my heart hurt for him. Even if sometimes he didn't handle things the way I wished he was, he was there for Mia and truly loved her with everything she had.
I loved how their story ended, and as much as I hate to say goodbye, I can only hope one day in the future we will get more of Kolton and Mia as their story is absolutely amazing! I highly suggest this series, as Mia and Kolton's story is so different than the other rock star books out there, and their story is remarkable and needs to be read. I couldn't help but fall in love with these amazing characters!
Shoelace the meaning is a lace or string for fastening a shoe. As we are young and coming into our independence one of the first tasks that our parents teach us is the tying our shoelace so we are not to tumble and fall when walking on the path of life. The saying: Over, under, around and through. Meet Mr. Bunny Rabbit, pull and through is one that is a remembrance of safety, love, comfort, joy and sorrow. Learning and remembering of this song that will carry onto our loved ones for generations. Remembering when we find ourselves fit to be tied when almost falling with only the ground to catch our fall when in fact what has been taught to us by all is the comfort of hands that will keep us safe.
This is the 2nd book I have read by the author the 1st is The Stage and needs to be read 1st
This is the continuing journey between Kolton and Mia.
To the author: Awe comes to mind when reviewing this romantic lovely, heartwarming and endearing book. The creativity that you brought out within the characters was in awe. The lovingness and the calmness that you created with Kolton and Mia with in making decisions not just as separate amazing characters but the thoughts within them that put life in the forefront to letting them forge into their own. The acceptances of each without dismay or over the hill hurt was written just like our lives in the world today. You created such a miracle within your writing the trust that was given between the two, even at times when faltered came full circle in the end to become an amazing hot, steamy one of a kind romance that will be remembered by all that read your words.
I was given this book to read for an honest review. I just finished and am at a loss because I’m not quite sure how to put this in words. This book makes you feel good and leaves a smile on your face by the time you get to the end of it. The Tour was also a book that I could not put down for the life of me.
I was a huge fan of The Stage so I couldn’t wait to see where Ms. Rebecca was going to take the story of Kolton and Mia. She didn’t let me down because “The Tour” started out at 100 mph and only increased from there. Don’t believe for one minute that this is just a “mushy” love story because there were some seedy things that were dealt with in this book and it was done in a way that that was very empowering. The author also did a great job building up the suspense in this story of a secret that Kolton had and kept you guessing until the very end. I don’t think I could have done what Mia did. I definitely would have checked out to see what had exactly happened which is probably why Mia has Kolton and I don’t. Oh, and let’s not forget all of the steamy sex for our Kolton and Mia. Sadly to say there are things that Kolton taught Mia that I had no idea even existed!!
I never turn down a rock romance read so when I come across a book (series) that was this good, it has me coming away feeling really lucky that I choose this book to read. I will definitely be a fan of Ms. Rebecca’s in the future and am more than happy to hear there is going to be more of Kolton and Mia down the road. I am hoping that there are also more stories of rock romance from this author as well. I definitely would be picking those up.
The Tour by Shelby Rebecca is a lovely story. This is the conclusion of the Phoenix Rising series. I would highly recommend that you read book one first. The cliffhanger at the end is the beginning of The Tour.
Book one, leaves us with Mia and her sister escaping another fire. Leaving Kole, to not only to deal with the fire but the arsonist as well. Can their love conquer Kole's past, both of their ghosts, and being famous?
Ms. Rebecca's characters are strong and likeable, even when you want to slap some sense into them. More then once I wanted to slap a little duct tape on Mia's mouth or shake Kole till he stopped being a putz. But, a story that makes you feel is worth the read.
If you are looking for a bad boy rocker romance, with some suspense, the Phoenix Rising Series is well worth the time.

I read this book in 3 hours what does that tell you lol.
It was a great book. It follows their relationship wonderful. I love how we get to watch Mia grow and times she even admits to be being immature.
I do admit that I wish the epilogue was a little bit more. Maybe a few more years letting us know if kids happened or something. But I honestly loved every single minute
This book had everything. Love, loss, danger, and a hea. I'm glad Kolton and Kia figured out their issues and formed the family they both lost. I highly recommend this book.
The conclusion to the Phoenix Rising series started right where The Stage ended. So luckily the cliffhanger from the end of it is resolved (partly) in the first twenty pages.
Kolton's ex Katharina, a model with a really fu*ked up brain, just can't let him go. Not even the restraining order helped. She infiltrated his home after the finale of the Stage and now is threathening to burn his apartement down.
Mia saves Riley again from the fire that started, but has to leave Kole inside. When she's outside she hears gunshots. Then Kolton is taken away in an ambulance, heavily bleeding.
Their bodyguards are taken to the police station for guestioning and nobody wants to tell her anything.
After couple of hours she finds out that Kole was stabed and one of their bodyguards killed Katharina. But she doesn't know what exactly happened and Kole makes her promise that she won't try to find what went on that night online. That she'll wait until he tells her.
Mia has to go on a tour and both Mia and Kole have to learn how to truly trust each other.
In The Tour we are held in suspense almost to the very end where we find out what really happened that day. And I didn't expect that one! I thought it will be some cliché he's hiding because of his pride. But it was something quite different.
Through out the book Mia's age finally shows and she's acting like a twenty year old qirl. Before she was way too mature and serious. Here she gets jealous (not that she didn't before, but now she even acts on it), she throws temper-tantrums, she cries a lot and she gets into a fight. Once.
The chemistry between Mia and Kole was as hot as ever. Although in The Stage it seemed even hotter. Probably 'cause the forbidden fruit tastes the best.
It was satisfying end to the series, I think that everything was resolved and the ending came at the right time. Nothing was too rushed or too slow.
But I still wouldn't mind a book from Kolton's point of view.
A young singer and a rock star brought together by their difficult backgrounds struggle to make their relationship work while living in the public eye.
I loved THE STAGE, where we meet Mia and Kolton and get an inside peek at reality television competition shows. Well the competition is now over and the couple is free to be together. Only Kolton's complicated past threatens to tear them apart before they even have a chance to get started. The trouble starts almost immediately after the events of THE STAGE and it haunts the pair over a period of months, time that includes a long stretch when Mia is away on tour.
Most of the drama centers around a decision Kolton makes under harrowing circumstances. It happens in the first chapter, but Mia (and we readers) don't find out ALL the facts until near the end of the book. On one hand, it's great that the author sticks so close to Mia's point-of-view. We really share her confusion, pain and anger as things with Kolton deteriorate and she is helpless to do anything about it. On the other hand, the build up to the big reveal leads to big expectations. Frankly, the "secret" isn't all that startling. If I were Mia, I'd be livid about being put through the wringer for it.
How harsh a wringer?
In the course of Kolton's mania to protect his secret, Mia is made into a scapegoat over and over again. The poor girl asks him reasonable questions and is treated as if she's betraying him. It's a pattern that repeats with his bodyguard and even, in a way, with the fans that attack Mia at the mall. To show you how out of hand it gets, at one point Mia is put in the wrong for defending herself in a physical attack. Sure everyone concedes that the other girl started it, but there's this weird attitude towards Mia that SHE is causing trouble for everyone...especially poor, stressed out Kolton. Somehow, she's always at fault for something, or in need of some kind of "lesson" in order to fully understand fame or where Kolton's coming from. It's frustrating, and it make me like Kolton much less than I did at the end of THE STAGE.
One has to wonder why with her looks and talent, Mia puts up with this crap treatment.
Though the form wasn't always to my taste, there's plenty of angst and emotion in this book. Also the erotic elements are really well done. With so much sex in fiction these days, it's rare to run into a fresh treatment of it. Without going into R-rated detail, let's just say that Kolton is the guru of the full-body orgasm.
To be honest, I prefer THE STAGE to THE TOUR, but this follow-up is still a strong book that deserves its five-star rating.
The book picked up where the first one left off. Mia and Kolton are trying to figure out their relationship, careers, and deal with the aftermath of the fire. Kolton has kept quiet about the fire to protect Mia.
Kolton is a controlling Alpha who drives Mia crazy. Mia has a fear of letting go and trusting Kole.
She starts her tour for the show and is gone from Kole as she tries to figure out who she wants to sign with and how can she be in this world of music with Kole.
As they try to work towards a future together, there are lots of ups and downs. The connection between the two of them is electrifying.
I would recommend this series to anyone looking for a great rock series with a sexy Alpha
If you fell for Kolton and Mia in The Stage you will not be disappointed with The Tour.
Mia and Kolton are still having issues because Kolton is trying to help Mia where Mia only sees it as controlling. The love that they share is tested to the limits when secrets are uncovered and when they are separated due to Mia's obligation to tour with the show more issues are thrown into the mix that makes you wonder will their relationship survive.
