Very short story about an office worker named Erik, who is suddenly overwhelmed by the technological world in which he lives. Before arriving today at McGreedy Tower in Philadelphia, he has removed the sensor implanted in his arm. He informs his friend James that he is going to quit. The story is set sometime in the future where everything is measured and self-propelled.

Erik decides to walk the Appalachian Trail forsaking everything technological. As he begins his ascent of a mountain, he realizes that the only sounds he hears are those of the forest;the sights he sees are the sky and the wildflowers. No one is measuring, planning or judging him.

One person's reflection on what our lives are in the process of becoming and what they could morphing into sometime soon.
