Rock Stars have been at the top of my Romance Genre list ever since I got into this dirty and sexy genre and that also means that the Rock Star genre is the one I expect most of and therefore the easiest to fuck up for me...

However... With that said this one HIT ALL MY BUTTONS.. All those sexy buttons that leaves your heart in your throat, your panties soaked and your heart melted into a puddle.. I was unable to put it down between parts, even for sleep.. So all I can really say is Amity you fucking did it again and you are so incredibly talented <3

When you put music & romance in a book, you can catch me reading that shit & swooning over it. I'm totally gonna miss the Affliction band, especially badass Blaire lol she'll forever be my favorite. Is their such thing as a book girlfriend cause I swear she's mine lol don't get me wrong, I like dick, but it was just her personality that made me wanna be a badass just like her lol

I'm relatively new to Amity Cross' work but I have to say that after reading these I will definitely be keeping tabs on her future work! Having read many Rock Star/Boy Band books in the past I was prepared to read the same old story but Amity still managed to keep me on my toes throughout.

Blair, our heroine, was a brilliant lead. She's feisty, strong and doesn't take any bullshit despite her troubled past. We first meet her as she decides to drown her sorrows at the bar, Dark, where she's on the look out for a hook-up.

Enter Dark and Dangerous. A man who is, not only ridiculously hot but also seems to be on the same wavelength as Blair- One Night. No Strings. Just utterly mind-blowing, passionate, HOT sex. And that of course is what they proceed to have. Blair leaves whilst he sleeps, still not knowing his name but too scared of their connection to care. She left hoping to never set eyes on him again - of course she wasn't counting on the fact she left her ID behind.

Blair's life is nothing to shout about, she's alone, miserable and works as a tattoo shop receptionist as she isn't qualified to do anything else and hasn't the money to pay for any. Deciding to treat herself she gets tickets to see a band she likes listening to in the shop - Affliction. When she gets there she's having a great time until she looks up and locks eyes with none other than her Dark and Dangerous, otherwise known as Jake West, Affliction's lead singer.

Panicking, Blair makes her escape as soon as the show ends but what she doesn't count on is West running after her, shouting her name; how the hell did he know her name? Of course he had her ID - so much for remaining anonymous.

This starts their whirlwind affair and when it's time for West to go on tour it's only a matter of time before he gets her to agree to come with him. With absolutely nothing worth staying for and only a handful of belongings they locked up in a shed, Blair agrees and enters into a world she's only ever dreamt of.

Of course it's not an easy ride, its fill of misunderstandings, addiction, abuse, jealousy, arguments, and betrayals yet at the same time there's passion, heat, fun and an undeniable connection. But at the end of it all will they be able to forgive and forget their tortured pasts and fight for their futures instead?

As I said before I really like Blair, and West was just as great. I loved the fact we got to read everything from his point of view as well as it really helped to shed light on his addictive personality and the actions he made. I'm really glad I read these stories in the bundle addition as opposed to individually as each volume is quite short and I don't think I would have appreciated the suspense! The last book was definitely my favourite as I really enjoyed reading what West did next and what he was up to but unlike other books where it doesn't get good until the end I was engaged throughout the whole story.

Each carrying scars and their own burdens from the past, Blair and West both fear for the future but will Blair always just be another addiction to West or will their love pull through?

This series also had some great secondary characters who I loved just as much as Blair and West so I was quite happy that they each got their own book as well, bundled together in Unexpected: Affliction. Each story is quite short but I didn't feel like that detracted from the series.

The first is Affliction's bass player Joe Fox's story. After watching West get his happily ever after Joe starts to believe he may get his with the troubled Alexis Storm - only problem is, she won't stop running away!

Next up is Mick Savage, Affliction's guitarist and their temporary manager Sasha Montgomery. Sasha has crushed on Mick for years and watching him with other girls has been unbearable. Having felt invisible to him for years finally when she takes over as manager he sees her, and after that there's no stopping her until she's his. This was definitely my favourite of the three stories - Sasha and Mick are brilliant!

Lastly there's the drummer Rob Hancock. He saves Lilly Hunter from her attacker outside their recording studio but her attacker isn't the only thing she needs saving from.

There isn't really a lot I can say about the stories in both Unexpected or Unexpected: Affliction as I don't want to spoil the storylines but what I will say is this...

If you're looking for a series with bad mouthed rockers, strong-minded feisty leading ladies and passion which will set your book on fire then you've found the series for you!!

I am starting with the end, at the beginning. Amity has me for life. I am no longer just a reader but a follower. She had me in the bar, at the hotel, in the side room at the concert, and in the shower. She made me wet, angry, loved, and want to punch someone in the face.

Blair and West (those are the characters in this masterpiece) are the negative charges at the end of a magnet. They are not people who should be together (in the beginning, this was my opinion). They actually should repeal against each other but when they have the opposite to their charge (him needing to break away due to all his past discretions and she needing to be royally f**ked to get out of her own mind) they just connect. Their bad crap gives them the positive charge that they need.

I can’t give any spoilers about this GREAT story of love, growth, and triumph away. I will say that their love is classic. It is not perfect and with all the flaws they have they are perfect.

Everyone is against this self-destructive relationship. What can you do when no one wants what you believe you need? Nothing, and it sucks. While Blair and West are trying to be the positives in their lives, they are met with negativity. “Sad face.”

Blair is a nomad and West is just…lost. They have no solid ground or constant love that is present, which can be touched. Hence why they bump uglies on the daily. The sex in this book is HOT!!!! I digress…I believe that is one of the main reasons they discover one another. Because they are what each other needs.

I loved that it is book is about a musician. Since Kellan Kyle (Thoughtless series) and Jake Wethers (The Mighty Storm series), I have loved me a music man. I loved that it is about a girl who has no goals or aspirations. I mean, come on. No chick is be a size zero and perfect. This made Blair rock, as a character, so much more to me.

Amity made the characters imperfect which was perfect.

This book is truly a great, wonderful read.

If you like unpredictability, a “not so” prince charming, and a Cinderella with a potty mouth and attitude, this is the best book to read. There is no sweet without the sour and this book will make you think about what you want more, the sweet life or the not so sweet.

Give me the not so, anytime.

Happy Reading.

Books 1-3

The Unexpected Trilogy – Complete Collection 1-3

This author is new for me and I have to tell you that I will be keeping her on my list of author’s to read. I’m usually a little apprehensive in checking new authors out, but I go with my gut after reading the synopsis of the book. So far, it hasn’t steered me wrong yet.

It’s got a hot, rock star with tattoos and a girl that pretty much keeps to herself because that’s all she has and can depend on. She’s learned to survive and get by. But one night at a bar, planning on a one night hook-up, she meets “Dark and Dangerous”.
Blair Hayden has a job as a receptionist at a tattoo shop, barely makes ends meet and definitely doesn’t want anything more than one-night. She likes it that way. Makes her less vulnerable and anything more would mean leaving herself open to being hurt and left alone. Just like it’s always been. I admired her strength. She’s hard, tough and also has a smart, dirty mouth. She tells it like it is and doesn’t sugarcoat anything.

Jake West is the lead singer of the band Affliction. They are pretty well known and on a break when Jake meets Blair in a bar. He’s been out of rehab for a few months and still working on dealing with some inner issues. Their chemistry is instant from the beginning. They are both at the bar for one thing and one thing only. No names are exchanged either. But fate has other plans for these two. And you have to get through the hard, rough patches and the times that test your faith before the sun shines bright again.

“If it wasn’t for her scent sticking on my skin and the claw marks all over my chest and back, I would’ve sworn that woman was a ghost. She was the most dangerous downward spiral of them all and I’d enjoyed every single second of it.” ~ West

I am a sucker for romances that are totally unexpected. The pulls and pushes and heart wrenching moments just get to me. The Unexpected Trilogy sure delivered everything I want in a book that’s placed in my hands. The characters were real and believable to me. The storyline flowed perfectly, too. It was hot at times and other times I wanted to crinkle the pages. But it was my Kindle, so that wouldn’t have worked out. I highly recommend checking this author out!

Part 1 to 3

This is the first book I have read by Amity Cross and I loved it. The story is spoil into three parts and is about Jake West leading of Affliction and Blair Hayden. This is their story how both struggle to be free of their demons and the pressure of finding that special person who you can trust and turn to when in need.

Both Jake and Blair to find their escape through sex. Blair doesn't believe in fairy tales and happy ever after because every one she has loved always leave her. Anger and one night stands picking up men to use is her release from reality until she meets Jake West. The gorgeous tattooed lead section Niger of affliction who is trying to concur his demons of Drugs and Alcohol, but both feel a connection. They seem to try and work things out but the media and a band manager who is only out for himself destroys everything.

Both need to heal, both need to realise they have to mend before they can be together. Neither are the same with out each other, they are both lost and until they find themselves they know they can't be together.

This was a great book which left you wanting to hit both, love both and final shake both especially Blair because you know Jake is the best thing for her. You feel sorry for Jake because he try's so hard to, make her realise he not going to run.

This is a book that shows you trust is the strength in a relationship and with it it will make you heal and gives you someone to lean no. That only with trust can you move on and put the past behind you. Trust will let you know true love, because not matter what you say or do that other person will be there to support.

I gave this book 5 stars

Absolutely loved this series !!! Totally amazing and each member had an awesome tale to be told !!
In the first 3 of the series it tells Blaire and West's story, how Blaire blazes into west life and shows the wildman of rock what a WILDCAT she is. They have there fair share of ups and downs (in and out of the bed) but through all that is thrown at them they work it out....
Book 4 is Joe and Alexis's story...... Alexis STORMS into Joe's life at the airport, they fly through a storm of emotions together but they survive and manage to figure out that fairytales do come true....
Book 5 tells the tale of Sasha and Mick...... Sasha has pined for Mick for 3 and a half years, she SASHAYS into the role of becoming the bands "temporary" manager but can she manage Mick ?? Hell yeah she can !! When he FINALLY sees the real Sasha he likes her ALOT but can he work through his own issues and calm this fiery little punk ??
And finally we get to book 6 Rob and Lily's story..... The saying goes "save the best til last" and Amity certainly did that here. Rob the drummer, a lifetime of issues of being let down and left in the background and as a drummer he feels it's happening again, that is until he saves Lily.... Lily hiding from an awful past wants to stay hidden but fate won't allow it. They fall fast and hard but neither admit to it straight away.... And when they do it escalates so fast neither of them know how to feel, react, accept what is happening !!
This series has so many highs and lows you'll need anti sickness tablets at time !!!!

Sexy Rock-n-Roll Romance

Blair and West are both broken in their own way. They’re hard and harder on each other. When they meet both expect they’ll connect for one night, but that one night turns into the possibility of a future. To get there becomes the problem.

West fights his demons that take him on a path toward destruction. He wants Blair to be his salvation, yet she struggles with her own tragic past. She’s alone and likes it that way. Taking a chance on West, they try for their own kind of relationship, filled with fighting and making-up.

I liked The Unexpected. You will too if you like a little bit of rock-n-roll, lots of angst filled tension and a sexy/sex filled read. West and Blair will take you on a rock-n-roll roller-coaster of emotion and finding forgiveness.

I went ahead and gave the FULL set 4 stars. I will say that I went back and forth on this due to the female characters in these books. I've never met so many people who had low self esteem, felt so little about themselves and thought they deserved it. I guess i have been blessed because I've only met maybe 1 person in my entire life that felt that way about themselves and they are bi-polar. I digress..............they were good books strong male characters got the whole rock star life style...........couldn't stand the word GUNNA by the time i finished, is that even a word. Oh well now on to the boxing set

This series started out awesome. I loved Blair and West. Their story felt complete and the author was obviously connected to them. I'd read another book about them for sure. The other band members stories though didn't hold my attention. Maybe it's just me, but they felt sorta mechanical, as if they were forced. I couldn't identify with any of them. Don't let my opinion sway you though. I can be picky. Check them out for yourself.

4.5 Crazy Stars!!!

I really enjoyed reading this series. I loved that it was all in one collection. Blair and West's story was freaking HOT! The other guys stories while HOT, felt a little (I stress "little") rushed or short. I don't know. Maybe it's because B & W got 3 installments and the other guys got one each. The guys installments were like short stories instead of novellas. B & W's story made it all the better. This is a definite must read!

It was okay, for me. Typical rock star romance books. The same story, 4 times, the last one a little different from the first 3, but not by too much. There's a ton of sex, and that instant love-obsession thing going on with every story. The one almost hook-up that could break their hearts forever, blah, blah...

I found it difficult to get into these books. I found the books repetitive over the first three couples. Alpha males n females with lots of issues. I can't comment on fourth couple as I stopped reading book and started something else. Hopefully after a break I can do a re read and change my opinion
