When an 8-year old orphan is driven from the paradisiacal city of Alethia by its very own divine king, he discovers a secret that will change the kingdom and the lives of all its inhabitants, including the beautiful Princess Veloria who has been promised in marriage to a distant ruler she’s never met for the sake of peace.

Twelve years pass and the ancient ritual of the “Right of Passage to Peace” has arrived once again, falling upon the shoulders of Princess Veloria. Soon she will be sent on a journey accompanied by her Royal Vanguard to the powerful kingdom of Argrave to wed the kingdom’s king. But as the days draw closer to her eventual departure, Veloria starts to notice things about her beautiful kingdom. Small things at first; then darker things follow the more she investigates.

Veloria's king father has been avoiding her, she’s been confined to her chambers allowed to see no one but her maidservants and a mysterious soldier has invaded the ranks of her Vanguard posing as one of her own. Soon she’ll find that the soldier has a purpose. Soon she’ll find she’s been lied to her entire life, and soon she’ll find that the soldier is her only hope against the onslaught of tribulation that is to come, forcing her to find out a truth that has been hidden for thousands of years.

A Well Needed, Classic Story

I didn’t realize how much I needed this book until I started reading Praevalere. There is something nostalgic and comforting about the journey T.S. Anthony guides you through. With so many novels these days with over complicated worlds and characters, T.S. Anthony reminded me that what makes a good story is your ability to imagine the world yourself and your connection to the characters. A well rounded debut novel. And for fans of a classic hero tale, this is a must.
