All of a sudden we're in a weird J-horror murder mystery with ghosts. Is this how this series is going to go? Genre-hopping nonsensically and justifying it with "Dimension W" nonsense?

I mean, that's not necessarily a bad thing, but I thought this was cyberpunk.

Hui. Okay. Der Genresprung zu Mystery-Geistergeschichte war etwas weird.
Albert ist mir immer noch etwas suspekt, ich mag ihn, aber weiß ihn nicht richtig zu lesen. Und können wir bitte endlich mehr von Kyomas Vergangenheit erfahren als nur nebulöse Rückblenden? *fuchtel*
Der Cliffhanger war nicht nett, wie gut, dass ich bereits Band 4 hier hatte und alles in einem Rutsch lesen konnte.

I love a good ghost story and that’s exactly the premise of Volume three! We begin with the death of a famous horror writer that is mysteriously killed with water by an unidentified entity that may potentially be otherworldly. And, naturally, the writer along with his sister live in a Manor House/hotel stranded in the middle of a haunted lake. D.A.B think that illegal coils have some part in this and therefore enlist Kyouma and Mira to find out what’s going on. I think this is my favourite instalment so far in the Dimention W series as it’s suspenseful and thrilling. Kyouma is kind of growing on me but I still much prefer Mira’s character. Volume three introduces us to multiple different personalities and it feels almost like the set up for an Agatha Christie novel (no other similarities though). And the time travel element of the plot is fantastic! This series is definitely on that has got better as I’ve read on!

DNF in File 18. I'm not much for reading mysteries, even (and possibly especially) in manga, and after losing most of my interest in the midst of a detailed discussion of a house layout I flipped through the rest of this volume and determined things get waaay to weird for my tastes. Intriguing enough series premise, world, and overarching plot, but I wasn't majorly impressed with the previous short plots and, as I definitely won't be finishing the current one, I've decided to drop the series.

Mystery after mystery and for extra added bonus: murder mystery! Secrets about dimension W; secrets about Mabuchi's past; secrets about Loser; secrets about Mira; secrets about the numbers. We get a few answers but they only lead to more questions! Next volume please!

Prima parte della murder mystery story arc.
Il cambio di tono che porta la serie a diventare, da puro sci-fi qual'era nei primi due volumi a giallo con tipiche meccaniche da "omicidio a porte chiuse" è eseguito in modo notevole e senza forzature, grazie anche alla caratterizzazione del protagonista principale, che gli permette di adeguarsi velocemente a diversi toni narrativi.
L'esecuzione della storia in sé è ottima, con un setting classico, una villa semi-abbandonata sulle rive di un lago avvolto dalla nebbia che si vocifera essere infestato, e una storia che fà progressivamente scoprire nuovi e importanti dettagli sulla natura del mondo in cui si svolge la storia, che nei precedenti due volumi erano stati solo accennati.
