Affection for a price…

Paris Ashcroft supports himself by offering discreet sexual liaisons to women whose husbands neglect their duties. Romance is merely the means by which he makes a living.

However, when Sophia Lovich, the one woman he’s lost his heart to, asks for his attention, he intends to surrender himself to passion. Little does he suspect that Sophie will ask him to endure her husband’s dark desires too!

In author Madelynne Ellis’s second novelette in her the Romps & Rakehells series we meet, Paris Ashcroft, Sophia Lovich and her husband Alexander Lovich.

Sophia and her husband Alexander are very open with each other and she knows that he also desires men—for their anniversary they have decided to take a man—together and have found the perfectly discrete but wonderful man, if the rumors are true, Paris Ashcroft to do so with. But Paris doesn’t desire men and has no idea what Sophia has in store for him. . .

This just came out today and I purchased it immediately and read it! I had to after reading and enjoying the first in the series, Capturing Cora.

I absolutely loved it! I am a huge fan of erotica and m/m so a ménage is always a wonderful read to me especially when both men have a relationship together as well, instead of just focusing on the woman, which is what a lot of ménage novels do, the men have a friendship relationship and a sexual relationship with the same woman—but that is not so in this novelette.

The only thing I could have asked for was it to be longer—other than that it was a wonderfully erotic and very quick read for anyone looking for a great historical ménage!

Don’t ya hate when you finish a book and you’re like no please I need more? This book was too short but very hot! Sophia and her husband are seeking something special for their anniversary and Paris is exactly what they were looking for.

I would recommend this book to all historical erotic romances lovers, especially if mmf is your thing. This book is perfect for a quick read on lazy afternoon.

The audible is done by google and it is not at all mechanical and has a very pleasant sound, however it does not do well between male and female voices. so it can be a bit confusing until you get used to it.

This was a lovely take on the classic 'man seduces married woman' and pretty dang hot for a short story. I felt there was just enough characterization that this never felt like pwp. A short, saucy read that i enjoyed more than the first book in this series.

Being set in Georgian England, it’s a lot more acceptable that a woman has curves. Even if it is historical, it was still nice to see that. Paris totally loves Sophia and even imagines what she’ll look like without all the layers and certainly appreciates her “round rump”.

At first, Sophia kind of lies to him a bit, by omitting the little fact that her husband would be joining them. Once that’s past though, it’s actually a very sexy and very sweet story. I love the honesty with which Alexander expresses himself.

The love scenes are vivid and you get a variety of different positions and combinations, making it that much more satisfying. The romance side of it is heartwarming, both in the marriage that Sophia and Alexander have to begin with, but also how they welcome Paris into their bed and their lives. Ménage after Midnight is a very enjoyable read!

This was an extremely well written menage by one of my favorite authors. As a reader, I crave the shorter novella's with a quick erotic story and I love how Madelynne pens her tantalizing stories.
"Rather he was a man and one with magic fingers and heavenly lips if the tales that were told were at all true."
"She'd never known a man with such appealing jet-black eyelashes or with lips so sensual that even wehn they were thinned and stern they still invited kisses."
"Passions ought to be slowly coaxed. Like the embers you've just stirred, it takes time to arouse a woman's pleasure."

Sophia, who is married to Alexander, has invited Paris, the town's hottest gigolo, to her bedroom for the night. When Alexander walk in on them, Paris braces for a fight. But, much to his surprise, he learns that Alexander isn't upset at all. In fact, he wants to join them!

This was my favorite in the series! It hit all the right buttons! Wonderfully written mfm/mmf ménage scenes!

This is my first historical ménage. I wasn’t really expecting it, but it was a surprisingly steamy read for a quick story. While it was short and you got glimpses of the characters and their backstory, I would have been happy to read a full length tale and explore these three characters a little more. I’m curious how Sophia ended up being such a spitfire, how did she meet Alexander and fall in love with him, give me more after that first night together. Madelynne, I’d love to see more!

Liked that the exploration of menage was consensually explored in marriage by husband and wife Sophia and Alexander Lovich. It was bit of a shock for Paris Ashcroft the Lover they first hired/blackmailed/negotiated? into being their third, as he discovered he was intended to be the spam in their sandwich. Fun and lovely that it evolved into a Polyamorous relationship/family through time, and they all lived HEA...

This was a fun quick read about a couple that seduce a man known for his liaisons with bored married women. The scenes were hot and it was fun to read. I understood Paris and his motivation but it would have been nice to know more about Alexander and Sophia.

I'll definitely be checking out more from Madelynne Ellis.

Beautifully written but the story almost moves too fast. Everything falls together kinda perfectly, therefore to me, dampens the heat factor. I would have enjoyed it more as a longer story that took its time to develop, with more conflict. But suitable if you're looking for a quick, simple period-piece HEA.

Really great quick hot read! This one is definitely not suitable for reading in a public place! ;) Really short (64 pages) but you can read it in under an hour if youre craving that hot steamy sex.

Similar to the Ivy Leavold series (which is another great series btw) in that this is historical erotica, set with horses, carriages and big poofy frocks. Definitely recommend!

I didn't care for any of the characters so this book wasn't appealing to me. Since it is a novella, there isn't enough space to really develop the characters. All we have to go on is their thoughts while things happen.m/m/f
