The Careys of Cowboy Point #4
The Cowboy’s Best Friend
Sierra Tate has been best friends with Boone Carey since childhood. She can’t imagine life without him.
After finally leaving the husband who cheated on her for the entirety of their marriage, she wants a change. Life in Cowboy Point with her best friend, helping him get his artisan dairy up and running, feels like the perfect way to figure out who she really is. After all, Boone is so sweet. So kind. She knows that he’ll let her live in the apartment above his barn forever, if she needs to. And maybe she does.
Boone has wanted Sierra for as long as he’s known her. Even after she married a man he never thought deserved her, he figured he’d rather have her as a friend than not have her at all. Getting to spend all day, every day with the woman he can’t have is challenging—but Boone is used to that kind of suffering. That’s okay. He loves her enough to be her friend forever and nothing more.
Until one night, everything changes.
Boone finally has the chance to introduce his best friend to the man he really is, the man he’s always been—the man who’s been in love with her since the day they met.
And he’s prepared to show her that as far as he’s concerned, they’ve always been made for each other.
One kiss at a time.

Book four in this wonderful series and I think it is my favourite so far, I do love a good friends to lovers troupe and with them being best friends for so long and the self- control that Boone used throughout those years was what made him seem like an angel and Sierra it took her some time, a bad marriage and a good look at her self- esteem encourage by Boone to see that her love for Boone was strong and true, I loved Boone and Sierra so much, this one is filled with emotion and is a heart-felt romance, one that I highly recommend, awesome characters, beautiful setting, big on family relationships and a fabulous read, don’t miss this one.
My thanks to Tule Publishing for my digital copy to read and review.

These two redefined slow burn, but when it ignited, wowser, the heat that had been contained was magma hot! The time was never right for these two, until it was. The foundation for the now had been being laid for years, and even now, it took a bit of coaxing to happen. Best friends for years, the understanding and affection they had was evident. What they did hide was parts of their true self, and once they realized that, and embraced it, there was no slowing down <3

Book four in the Careys of Cowboy Point series does not disappoint. Boone Carey is intense and has been in love with his best friend Sierra since they met as teens in school. To have a friend like him that stands by you no matter what would be amazing. And to be loved by someone like that? Whew! Sierra seems a little naïve and clueless at times but based on her parents and the man she married, I can see why. Watch out when things start to heat up for these friends. I love the Carey family involvement in all the stories. I’m ready for the next one. I voluntarily read an advance copy from the publisher. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is so very hard. I think this is my favorite of the series so far, but it’s hard to tell. I’ll explain that in a minute. I want to start off by saying that the romance and relationship between Sierra and Boone is fantastic. Boone has been in love with his best friend since they met as kids, but always held himself back. He believed he wasn’t what or who could make her happy, and all he ever wanted was for Sierra to be happy. While all of Boone’s family thinks his love for Sierra is obvious, she is oblivious. Now she’s finally left the good-for-nothing husband she’s been with since high school and Boone still doesn’t step up…he wants Sierra to experience everything she didn’t while tied to her ex. He’s so supportive and gentle with Sierra while yearning deep inside.
Sierra’s ex and her parents are awful. They are the rich people in town. The people who think they are more important and better than everyone else. The manipulation she has suffered her whole life is boggling. I love that she has the awareness to get out of the situation and set strict rules to how she will be treated once she leaves her husband.
Now, here’s the problem. I have been receiving and reading ARCs for years now. There are often a few formatting issues, and sometimes even some editing issues that affect the flow of the writing. That’s especially true for ARCs that are available months ahead of publication. This ARC was sent to me less than two weeks before publication, so I would assume most of the kinks would be worked out. There was a plethora of editing issues. I try not to judge an ARC on such matters, but it’s so hard when these errors take me out of the story over and over again. I’m talking character names spelled incorrectly, the wrong pronouns being used for a character, and the tense of the sentence changing in the middle. Missing words and punctuation in odd places. I have a feeling I know how this book was edited, but I don’t want to make an outright accusation unless I can confirm my suspicions. I will be contacting the publisher, and if I find that they sent a sloppy ARC but the final published version is cleaned up I will update this review. If I find my suspicions are correct, I will have to stop reading from this publisher. There are some amazing authors whose books are published through this publishing house and this shoddy work does them all a disservice.
That all being said, I enjoyed this friends-to-lovers romance. I loved how Sierra saw Boone so differently from everyone else in his life because of how protected he has kept her through the years. Both characters had a lot of growth in different ways, which is something I always like in the books I read. As usual, I’m not happy about Boone’s dad and his machinations, but at least it was kept pretty low-key in this book.

In this story we finally see what is with Boone Carey, one of the two brothers who were born to Belinda, in Zeke's second marriage.
Once again we have Zeke plotting to get his son to commit and Belinda is right there for him.
Boone has been in love with Sierra Tate since they first met at school and had a strong connection that led to them becoming best friends. Only Sierra didn't see the potential, or maybe it scared her and so Boone was firmly friendzoned while she went on to marry rich boy Matty.
What can we say about Matty? Nothing good and on that principle, we will just leave him in the past where he belongs.
Sierra has just had her 32nd birthday and for some reason, that triggered something in her that had her packing up and leaving cheating, loser Matty. Okay I said I wasn't going to say any more about him, but he looms large in the last sixteen years of Sierra's life and his impact on her is notable.
Boone has been busy creating his artisan dairy and Sierra is just the ideal person to help him build the business now she's casting off the shackles of her old life. He even has a cute apartment above the barn that has been waiting for Sierra to need it ever since he built it.
Now she's there and they are working together. Sierra thinks nothing has changed between her and Boone who is a sweet angel. Right. She has a little problem with kidding herself about a lot of things. It's what kept her with the douchebag (you know who I mean) for all of her adult life so far.
Boone is not the same. He's dealing with his feelings that he kept under wraps all this time and Sierra is right in his face now, working together, living adjacent.
Things are definitely going to change.
This was a really sweet story about two people who maybe should have got together a while ago. It would have saved a lot of angst for both of them. Sierra had a few TSTL moments when I was frustrated at her unwillingness to open her eyes. It cost her a lot in self-esteem and seriously, her parents were not helpful.
Still, at least this time we can be sure that they have the maturity to handle a relationship so that's a plus about the delay. The ending was lovely and I really do believe in the HEA for this couple.
The setting, in a small community not far from the famous Marietta is engaging with a great cast of characters in a beautiful environment.
I look forward to Knox, who is the next brother to meet his destiny.

This is the 4th book in the Careys of Cowboy point and it is brother Boone's turn. Tired of waiting for his sons to settle down the Patriarch of the family told a little white lie, that he is terminally ill and just wants to see his boys settled. One by one the boys have found their ladies. all in unconventional ways. Boone is a different breed all together. He has been in love with his best friend since he met her in high school. He has steadfastly remained in the friend zone, being there for her, her rock. He watched as her parents pushed her into a lousy marriage and just waited. Now she freshly divorced and looking to get perspective, and comes to his ranch to figure things out. He is content to let her figure things out in her own time, but when she starts noticing him in a decidedly not best friend way, he isn't going to shy away from it. He lets her know in no uncertain terms that he is all in, and if she crosses the line there will be no going back. He is quiet and determined, as far as the brothers go. But still waters run deep and he has oceans of deep, and he is ready to unleash them. She has always depended on him, been attached to him, but never let herself cross the line, but now she is realizing it was always him, and she was fooling herself. He is her best friend but he is so much more. When the cards are finally down, their spice is steamy and passionate. They finally get their happily ever after and a sweet epilogue. You don't have to read the other books in the series as each is a stand alone but they are all brothers and turn up in each other's stories, so I recommend it as you will get a layered story experience and life updates as the family story plays out.

The Cowboy's Best Friend is the fourth title in The Careys of Cowboy Point series, and brings Sierra and Boone to the place they always should have been together. Unfortunately for Boone, Sierra married a man so unworthy of her love, a man who cheated on her and demeaned her at every chance he got. Boone has remained her best friend, but finally all bets are off since she’s finally kicked that cheating idiot to the curb and is settling down, quite nicely, alongside Boone as he works on his specialty farm. Now comes the hard part: to move from best friend to lover forever in Sierra’s eyes. She’s blinded herself over the years to his true feelings, perhaps as a way to protect herself… but now the Boone who’s in love with his lady is in full sight, can she handle the truth?
I loved every moment spent with The Cowboy's Best Friend by Megan Crane. There were times when Sierra was so clueless about Boone’s feelings for her that I wanted to reach into the story and give her a good shove in his direction. They fit perfectly, and the Sierra who blossoms with Boone’s love and attention is a sight to see. If you love a well-written, emotional, sexy romance with characters that will find a spot in your heart as you root them on to their happy ending, then you’d love everything about this one. One more brother to go… I can’t wait for his story.

We are back in Cowboy Point where the patriarch of the Carey family, Zeke, has fooled his “boys” and told them he’s near his deathbed and wants them all to get married and have kids before he dies. Three have already found their soulmates and now it’s Boone’s time to get the girl he’s loved since he was in seventh grade.
Sierra Tate was that girl, but she ended with the popular boy in school and later married to him. But that didn’t stop Boone and Sierra from becoming best friends not only in school, but throughout adulthood.
Boone has watched Sierra loose herself in the marriage to a cheater but it isn’t till she decides enough is enough that things start changing for them.
Sierra is discovering herself, realizing that her family and her husband are truly toxic. When she leaves the marriage , it’s Boone that offers a place to stay and start anew.
From that moment on, it was sweet to watch how caring Boone was. Never keeping her from growing, but rather supporting and loving her.
Will Sierra finally realize that what the love and respect she’s always wanted has always been within reach?
This was another engaging story in the series. A story about family, or lack thereof, loyalties, and how special it is to find someone that truly“sees” you.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Tule Publishing . The opinions expressed are solely my own.

This book is so very sweet and it proves that love can grow stronger over time. If you want to read a very good love story this is it. And I highly recommend that you all read The Cowboy's Best Friend.
Sierra Tate and Boone Carey have been best friends since they were fifteen years old and Boone has loved her all of that time. But she sees him as a friend and she loves him like a brother, and could never imagine her life without him. But Boone does not see her as a sister, he sees a beautiful woman that he loves.
Sierra had gotten married to a match that her parents thought was great and he had cheated on her from almost day one of their marriage. Finally she is filing for divorce and moves into the apartment above the barn on the Carey farm. She is helping Boone to sit up an artisan dairy and trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life and who she really is. So they spend every day working side by side and learning the new business.
She has always thought Boone was so sweet and innocent. When she spends time away from him she always runs back into his arms and gives him a big hug. Until one night when she runs into his arms and gives him a big kiss. So what will happen from here? Will Boone show her how he feels? Or will she say goodnight and return to her apartment?

The Cowboy’s Best Friend is a fantastic addition to what has been a fabulous series to read. Megan Crane creates wonderful characters. Dairy farmer Boone Carey and his longstanding best friend Sierra Tate are perfect examples. As their story begins, she’s just walked out on her husband of ten years, an entitled philanderer who has been manipulating her throughout her marriage. By sheer good fortune, Boone just happens to have built an apartment above his barn and, of course that’s where Sierra heads to start her new life. Unbeknownst to her, Boone has loved her for the whole fifteen years of their friendship, caring for her when her husband failed to do so. To Sierra, Boone is “Her sweet, kind angel,” so she is surprised to discover the depth of his feelings for her. Boone is so much more than sweet and it was fun watching him show Sierra another side of himself. Aside from the budding romance between these two, the setting is gorgeous. I love Montana and Megan Crane really knows how to put her readers right in the place her stories are happening. The fact that Boone is an artisan cheesemaker, farms his own dairy cattle and goats and is good with his hands are bonus extras. This book really was a fantastic read.

Sierra has finally made the decision to leave her no-good husband, and her best friend Boone is there to help her. She moves to the apartment above his barn, leaves her job at her father's firm, and starts working for Boone's dairy business. Starting over seems pretty easy.
Boone has been in love with Sierra forever. Happy to help her out, he's still careful of his heart, never letting on. But as they work together, it becomes harder to keep his feelings in check, and he tells Sierra she has to make the decisions of what they do, if anything.
As Sierra finally starts taking charge of her life, realization of the life she had been living and what she can have slam together to create a new awakening. Boone takes his time, and everything has to be Sierra's choice. Sierra finally goes after what she wants and she wants Boone all the way. Turns out, she's always loved him.
A satisfying friends to lovers romance with sizzle.

The Cowboy's Best Friend – The Careys of Cowboy Point #4 by Megan Crane
A heartfelt and engaging addition to a wonderful series.
Megan Crane delivers another gem in The Careys of Cowboy Point series with The Cowboy’s Best Friend. Just like the previous books, this one is beautifully written, filled with depth, emotion, and characters so vivid they feel like old friends.
This installment tells the story of Boone Carey and Sierra Tate, who have been best friends since they were fifteen. Over the years, Boone has quietly carried a torch for Sierra, while she married Matty — a man who, unfortunately, didn’t honor his vows. As Sierra faces heartbreak, the question arises: Can lifelong friendship turn into something more? Can Boone and Sierra find their happily ever after?
You’ll have to read the book to find out — and I highly recommend that you do. It’s a touching, romantic journey that fans of the series and newcomers alike will thoroughly enjoy.

Sierra and Boon have been best friends since childhood. He has quietly watched her live her life without him yet with him as her best friend. He has loved her since they met. He knew the man she married was not good enough for her. Now she has come to live in the apartment above his barn and help run his dairy. It is her idea of a fresh start in a safe place with her best friend. For Boon it is complete torture. Having the one woman he loves so close is testing his strength. Then out of the blue she gives him a kiss on the mouth to celebrate her divorce being finalized. Now that he has had a taste of her there is no going back. He decides to tell her how he feels. It is up to her if she wants to go back to just being best friends or if she wants to take a chance and see where things go between them. I enjoyed watching their relationship evolve. I think Sam’s character was a totally stand up guy. When Siera hears the stories about him and the woman he has been with she is surprised about all his rules and his never being with the same woman more than one night. When Sam tells her the rules don’t apply to her and that he wants it all with her it was totally a swoon worthy moment. Good read.

Well, first off I will read anything that has Megan Crane’s name on it. Then when you add being back in CowboyPoint with the Carey family , it’s just a no-brainer. I’m reading that book.!
Zeke is the patriarch of the Carey family. He wants grandchildren! He’s tired of waiting around for his boys to get married and have children so he decided to tell a little white lie. He tells them he’s on his deathbed. He just wants to see his boys with children.
I just love how each boy is fulfilling his father’s dreams. And actually finding a good woman to do it with.
Megan is an amazing writer and she writes extremely wonderful characters. Whenever I get done reading one of her books, I feel like I want to be a part of that town.
I highly recommend this book and this series !
And wish I could give it more than five stars ⭐️

Sierra and Boone have been best friends since they were fifteen. Boone has been attracted to her for years but hasn't told her as he'd rather not lose her friendship. Sierra has just decided that she needs to leave her marriage, she's fed up with her husband and parents telling her what to do and how to really think, and her husband has had loads of affairs. Now enough is enough.
Boone has a flat over his barn which he designed with Sierra in mind. Now she's coming to stay there and going to help him with his dairy. The more time she spends with him the more she realises that he's always been there for her but is wary of losing his friendship.
Can they overcome their fears and communicate? Won't life be better for them both?

A friend's to lovers trope that suited me fine. Boone has been in love with Sierra since he was 15 years old. they met in school and everyone knows except her. she went and married someone else and now after 10 years, she's leaving her husband and moving into his barn on his farm/ranch.
its always a surprise to the best friend when they realize the other person's feelings. Boone has been masking his true feelings and being a 'husband' for her even though he was just a friend. Being her support and her sounding board. It was also good to see Sierra finally realize that her marriage wasn't all that is was cracked up to be. Being an only child and a trophy wife wasn't what she wanted.
Good story and it was nice to see the other female characters befriending Sierra. Can't wait for the last brother to fall in love.

A great addition to the Careys of Cowboy Point series.
Zeke Carey still pretends to be dying in order to get his boys to settle down, get married and have children. He won’t stop until he sees them all happily married.
In this book, we meet Boone, who has been in love with his best friend, Sierra Tate since seventh grade, even though she ended up marrying someone else. When Sierra finally has enough of her cheating husband and asks for a divorce, she turns to Boone, not just as a best friend, but in a way Boone never expected. But is it a rebound relationship or the real thing? I really enjoyed this book and seeing Boone and Sierra get their happily ever after, along with catching up with the rest of the Carey family.

I devoured this book in two days on my vacation. I didn’t want to put it down. I even snuck in some reading in the middle of the night. lol I think somehow Megan Crane puts crack in her books to make them as addicting as possible. I’ve been trying to figure out why I love them so much. I always identify with the characters and the story. She did an amazing job writing tension and conflict into this story to keep you reading from start to finish. This was definitely a slow burn but it was perfect that way! Boone and Sierra had to make their way to each other at the right time and pace. I loved coming back to Cowboy Point! I’m already looking forward to the next book! Huge thanks to Tule Publishing for allowing me to read and review this book!

Boone doesn't give his heart lightly...and when he fell in love with Sierra, that was it for him. If being best friends with Sierra is all he'll ever get, he's OK with that.
Sierra, following the expectations of her parents, marries the man they chose rather than the man she fell for. Now...ten years later...she is coming out of the fog where she's been living. Turning 32 makes her realize she wants to change.
As Sierra's best friend, Boone has an apartment ready for her as she leaves everything she knows to begin a new life. Little to they both know that something nuclear is coming in their relationship.
A wonderful book of unrequited love.

Boone has always been there for Sierra all through her years to a horrible man who constantly made her feel like she wasn't good enough. Another might have been strong enough to leave him long ago but her parents made her feel the same way. She might have been best friends with Boone for half her life but she really didn't know him until she asks him to sleep with her and he tells her if they do that it won't be for one night but forever. Because of her ex and her mother Sierra has body image issues and I love how Boone repeatedly showed her how beautiful she was. It was great to catch up with his brothers and their growing families. His sisters-in-law are a riot.

The Cowboy’s Best Friend is book 4 in the Carey’s of Cowboy Point by Megan Crane
Up next is Boone and Sierra’s story of a deep friendship formed in middle school. Boone has kept his feelings for his BFF under wraps for years but has always had Sierra’s back. The Cowboys Best Friend by Megan Crane is the story of recovery, new beginnings and finding purpose and love with your best friend. The fourth book in the Careys of Cowboy Point Series, it is a tender, slow burn romance until one night when it ignites into something hot and passionate. One again, Zeke is more than delighted that Boone and Sierra are finally moving out of the friend stage to the forever love stage. However, I do not think that Zeke had much to do with this story since Boone had loved Sierra since middle school. It is more of the time is right for them after her divorce. A story where the right man and the right woman get together.

Book 4 in the Careys of Cowboy Point series was just as much fun as the first three. Boone had been niggling at me because he was so different from his brothers in the previous books. I couldn't wait to read his story and Ms. Crane surely delivers with this one. Boone and Sierra's friendship charmed me from the beginning and Boone's kind heart made him a real hero for me. I loved watching Sierra becoming aware of how much she loved Boone and what real love was after her disastrous marriage to another man. So far, my favorite Careys of Cowboy Point novel.

Boone Carey has loved Sierra Tate since he was fifteen. Sierra only sees him as a best friend; so, he settles for being the BFF to have her in his life. When she finally decides at 32 that she has no life of her own and leaves her husband and quits her job with her dads law firm she moves to the ranch to work with Boone. Will Sierra finally see what everyone else knows about Boone loving her.
Great story about Boone finally getting his HEA.

Wow! Boone has been in love with Sierra for a long time. Now Sierra is back in town and single. As they spend time together they begin to get to know each other. They see things in each other they didn't really know. The question is will they be brave enough to let go of a friendship and give into something more. If they do that will they be brave enough to see it through. I loved their story. Highly recommend. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. Oh how I have waited for Boone’s story since first being introduced to the Carey’s and it did not disappoint. Though I’ve adored this entire series thus far this one is my favorite yet. I connected to an extreme with Sierra as to some degree my life’s trajectory followed hers fairly closely even down to the timeline. Such a crazy coincidence considering I have been highly anticipating this story.
Such a feel good, satisfying read that inspires hope and brings a smile to your face. I cannot wait for the last Carey brother to find his happy ending.

The Cowboy's Best Friend by Megan Crane, book four in The Careys of Cowboy Point series, is an entertaining, tender, passionate and moving best friends-to-lovers story. Boone Carey has been in love with his best friend, Sierra Tate since seventh grade, despite her marrying someone else. Sierra only sees him as a best friend; so, he settles for being the best friend in order to have her in his life. Sierra finally realizes that she has no life of her own, leaving her cheating husband and quits her job with her dad’s law firm. Sierra is discovering who she truly is; realizing that her family and her husband are truly toxic. After leaving her marriage and asking for a divorce, Boone that offers a place to stay and start anew. From that moment on, Boone was caring, encouraging her, supporting her, “seeing” her, and loving her. It took the help and encouragement of others before Sierra saw how much Boone cares for her; more than just as a friend. This was frustrating to me as I couldn’t believe she was so oblivious to him and his feelings. Yet, once she saw Boone for who he really was, there was no stopping her and her feelings. I enjoyed seeing Boone and Sierra finally get their happily ever after, along with catching up with the rest of the Carey family. Now it’s time for the last brother standing.

Zeke is one sneaky dad. Pretending to only have a year to live to get some grand babies from his son's is a doozy. Three son's down and two to go. This is Boone's story of how he gets the only woman he's ever wanted and that's his best friend Sierra. His main hurtle is to get her to see him as more than just a friend. Live, love, love, this series.
