Reluctantly, he says the secret code word and finds out she is indeed his contact! Together they must battle, not only Lorenzo, but their own hearts to save a country in trouble.
Franny Armstrong is a mother of three and a grandmother of five. Her husband supports her imagination and has the patience of a saint. She’s been writing since she was a child, creating plays to act out in front of the neighborhood children. She charged them five cents admission to join her in the family garage for the play.
Since 2002, after a serious breakdown, Franny had to express herself on the computer since she couldn’t speak, everything coming out gibberish at that time. She’s slowly healed to the point that she can function fairly well. Writing was the best medicine for her and still is.
Franny loves to write about rainforests and Caribbean islands but also does cities. Her characters are well rounded and share her wacky sense of humor.
Rune and Zander are a very unique couple of characters who instantly warmed me and made me root for their safety and their love. In this fast-paced suspense thriller based in the exotic and dangerous world of Amazonian drug-lords, Ms Armstrong’s writing voice is crisp, visual, and she tells a great story. Here she has brilliantly constructed an exciting tale of real intrigue with many good twists and turns which I didn’t see coming. As a long time reader of thrillers and suspense stories that’s refreshing for me. I love the well developed characters, even the baddies—especially the dastardly Cruz, and the sneaky, conniving, self-centered Tricia—as well as the hero and heroine. For me Rune’s clumsy antics as well as Zander’s realistic heroism throughout the story kept me turning the pages into the night. He’s a man’s man, but isn’t afraid to follow his heart. I fell in love with his open, astute deduction of the cute ingenious heroine, whom he describes as strong, dedicated and determined. He recognizes her past’s emotional pain and that what she fears most is having a loved one distrust her. I was enchanted by the way he knew that the loyal Rune would fight like a tiger for love, and she does. Although this is a thriller, visually playing out in multicolour brightness and clarity, the unforgettable love story throughout, is also why I will be rereading this book for again, and soon. Now I’m off to finish another one of this author's books. You should check her books; you’ll enjoy the ride, I know it. Tanya Freedman, Artist, Author, Designer
