Life changing ! I will continue to refer to this book over and over. I will share what I’ve learned with anyone who will listen. This book is a wonderful self contemplative opportunity to grow in your Christian faith. Things that I never understood before have come to light! And I am walking in more peace and more of a relationship than I ever have before. And I have been a Christian for 40 years. a tremendous blessing. I would encourage every Christian to prayerfully walk through this book.

I received a free copy of this book from the author. Be Transformed is about how true change in the Christian life must come through heart transformation by Jesus Christ. Murphy's point is that knowledge of the scriptures and God's promises and spiritual disciplines are not enough by themselves to change a person. It is a very thought provoking book that came out of Murphy's work with addicts.

My main criticism of the book is the use of the amplified Bible, which I think makes the scripture more difficult to understand in it's attempt to explain the scripture. I think a translation more easily understood such as NIV or or NLT should have been used.

While I enjoyed the overall message of this book (God really used it to open my eyes), I found it to be highly repetitive and therefore lacking in content. I'd still recommend it, though, and I believe Christians everywhere need to hear this simple message that is a core aspect to Jesus and his kingdom.
