A LOST CONTINENT. A LEGION IN PERIL. THE FATE OF TWO EMPIRES.
In the Domains of the Chosen magic is power.
The Grand Championships are over. Two Gladiators have joined the ranks of the immortal rulers of the Domains. As Gavin and Sadira learn their way as Chosen, their friend, Vintia sets sail with an expedition that will reshape the future of the empire. Chosen Brightloch has found the way to Ithal'duin, a continent lost since The Reckoning. New allies, and new dangers await. Fortunes will be made and the balance of power will shift. It is up to Vintia and the Ninth Legion to safeguard this expedition. Yet, while the Legions faces strange foes, the politics of the Chosen might present an even greater danger.
After two action packed books does the author take a breather? Hell no! The action is outside the arena but even more intense (didn't think it possible but it was). This is another long book but it still feels too short as there is no boring bits, unlike most other military fantasy type books which consist of a lot of marching and politics and a few battles this book goes from battle to battle and once again we learn character during the battles -and, damn, what battles they are, you almost feel like you are there. Loved learning more about Vintia, really almost a bit player in the first two novels although one I always wished to see explored in greater detail. All I will say is she lives up to her early promise. Seeing Sadira outside the arena works well also. I don't want to give any spoilers or even hints that will lessen the enjoyment of this great (yes, great) book. Just read it folks and enjoy
Takes a refreshing look on from the world created in the previous books. Gripped from start to finish and I look forward to reading more that isn't based solely on Gavin and Sadira.
