This book's central focus is Stephanie Tanner. Stephanie is feeling ignored by all nine of her family members, but the person who is ignoring her the most is her big sister, DJ. DJ is so absorbed in her boyfriend, Steve, that she is unaware of her surroundings. Stephanie is craving DJ's attention because she is experiencing middle school problems, such as a crush. Stephanie doesn't feel comfortable discussing her crush other than DJ. To wrestle some of DJ's attention away from Steve, Stephanie mentions joining the popular clique called "The Flamingos". This statement finally grabs DJ's attention, and she gives Stephanie some sisterly advice to stay away from "The Flamingos". Will Stephanie heed DJ's advice or get more than she bargained for?
Overall, I found this book wholesome and a delight to read. I enjoyed that the characters and their traits were similar to those of the TV show, in addition to the new characters. I also appreciated that the plot points and storyline of the book were different from the TV show. This writing style gives the stories in the series variety. I will continue the series.

I recently scored a huge haul of Full House Stephanie books and I'm so excited to re-read them (or in some instances, read them for the first time)!

This one was my favorite as a kid, probably because it was one of the few my library had so I checked it out over and over again. I always thought this book set up the book series very well - it was still the Tanner family, but there were differences in the book world. (Most notably Stephanie's friends Allie and Darcy, who didn't exist in the TV show.)

I had a great time re-reading this and I'm looking forward to the next ones! These just make me smile and bring me right back to childhood innocence.

Lent to me by my friend from up the street, along with our spelling homework. We used to go rollerskating in the Friendly's parking lot. She was pretty sure this was the best book ever, but the very next year, it was all about 90210.

It’s hard to believe Stephanie’s a sixth grader because she looks like a 10-year-old on the cover. Stephanie’s adventures are so funny and interesting that I’m going to read more Stephanie books soon.

The picture looks like it's of Stephanie from 5th grade and not 6th, therefore she looks younger. This reminds me of the first book in the Sweet Valley Twins series, with the 8th grade run club The Flamingoes. Stephanie and her friend Darcy (not in the tv series) are recruited to join and have to do dares to pass the initiation, but they learn that the unicorns are just using them to take advantage of them, for example wanting the girls to steal phone cards so the head of the club could call her boyfriend. They backed out in time, but there was no confrontation or anything like that in the book's conclusion

I first read this book in elementary school. I decided to buy it again recently and see if I still liked it as much as I did when I was younger. I think the book while it had flaws stood the test of time pretty well. The only thing that threw me out at times was the outdated lingo or references to stuff that was definitely early nineties stuff.

This one is very sweet and really true to being that age in the time period it was written in and intended for. On a personal note, this was one of the few books in this series that my local library carried and I'd always check it out (but never read it). And sometimes when I was at the library but had forgotten my card (this happened a lot), I'd rummage around looking for this one and hide it under the facing shelves. The shelves in the juvenile section at the time were like magazine racks in libraries are now, metal with the front displaying the latest in and it could be lifted up to find back issues, or other books in a series in this case. So, being the kids domain it was always a mess under there, but it was also kind of its own magical little world, too. And the bright yellow cover of this book was somehow familiar and exciting to me. A very dramatic rememberance considering the material, but that's childhood.

I really liked Full House in grade 4 and my grade 5 teacher ended up giving me this book. It was short and fun to read. I got to read about Stephanie and have a happy ending. However, this book's main climax was very underwhelming. I did not have many expectations when I started to read this book, and yet it still managed to disappoint me. It felt cheap. I am not saying their actions are not believable, but I think the plot could have been more interesting.
