'So you brought the bad boy home and now you think you can live happily ever after?'

When Kate Marshall went in search of the man responsible for the murders of her adoptive daughter's parents she expected to find a cruel, heartless killer with no excuses and no decency.
What she found instead was Danny Edwards, an ex-boxer and an intense, damaged and most importantly innocent man, filled with pain and regrets. And then perhaps most surprisingly she fell head over heels in love with this gorgeous, complicated man.
Eighteen years into a life sentence he has been released and is building a new life with her and the girl he once called his daughter, a girl eager to build a relationship with the man she calls her dad.
Finally, after a lifetime of hurt Danny Edwards is moving on, and building something better and stronger than anything he has ever had before - a family - and it is more precious and more important to him than anything else has ever been.
But ghosts from the past and his inability to control his defensive nature threaten to rock this new life he is building for himself, forcing him to constantly fight and struggle to gain and keep those he loves close by and find peace within.

If you want a cutsie romance, this book is not for you. If you want a boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love and live happily ever after, this book is not for you. If you want real characters, living in the real world dealing with real situations then this book is a MUST!! Heidi J Thomas has excelled herself yet again with an amazing second book in the Guilty trilogy. I fell in love with Danny Edwards in Guilty but now, The Destroyer is out of prison, on his way to start a new life with Kate, the woman he fell in love with while in prison and Holly, the daughter he hasn't seen in 18 years. This book had me laughing, crying, (tears of joy and sadness) and sometimes howling with rage at the situations Danny finds himself in as he tries to make good in the outside world. It is a powerful story, edge of the seat stuff, heart wrenching at times and totally unputdownable. I was with Danny every second of the way. I love this guy and can't wait for the last in the trilogy. I just hope that Danny is able to achieve the happiness he so truly deserves. Good Luck Danny Boy, I'm in your corner xx

Danny is out and starting his life with Kate and Holly. Not everything goes smoothly and for a lesser man they would have turned him into someone totally different from the kind open hearted loving man Danny is. Heidi brings out more of the characters strengths and personality in this book. You get to know the real Danny, and by knowing Danny better you feel his happiness pain and sorrows. Have tissues nearby
