Having her life back is not the problem for newly trained special services agent Stacy Frazer. Keeping it is!
After finding it hard to settle into a civilian life, Stacy takes on her first assignment, but in the field of special ops things do not always go to plan.
An introduction to an old military instructor proves useful, but is General Walter Ham, the creepy old man Stacy initially thinks he is, or does his interest in recruiting Her into his department have another agenda?
As old faces from her past emerge to haunt her, Stacy has to trust in friendships, old and new, to help her through an assignment that is so perilous it may actually destroy everything she has fought hard to achieve.

At first I wasn't sure if I would understand the characters or plot issues as this is the third book of a series but I soon got into the story and this wasn't really an issue. I really liked the main character of Stacy. I have read plenty of books with strong leading female cop characters but the idea of a female lead in a book about Special Forces was different. The other character that I took to was General Walter Ham and I liked not really knowing if he is good or bad and that you don't really trust him and know what his motives are.
The place of the book was good and the plot was fast paced and easy to follow, and i would read the other books in the series. I didn't like all of the romance angles and found it hard to believe that nearly everyone in a relationship would be on the same mission as their respective partners and is the character of Todd really that amazing that Selene and Stacy would literally go to blows over him??
Overall though, I enjoyed this book.
Got my copy through the Goodreads first read scheme.
