"I crave to be near you, Kelly. And I have since I first laid eyes on you in Sweet Seduction's store. I can't explain it any other way. I was drawn to you, like the gravity of the sun. I didn't want to fight it, I wanted to, even if only briefly, say it was mine."
Kelly Quayle has always been a good time girl, finding her thrills wherever and whenever she could. But the reality of her lifestyle hits her hard one morning, when she wakes up in a stranger's bed. With no recollection of how she got there or what happened when she did, she decides a shake up of her life is in order. But cutting ties with the five guys she regularly sees is harder than she thought.
Especially one.
Lately Drew Kline has been turning up in all the most unexpected places. Namely, on each of Kelly's dates. Somehow he manages to waylay her; grab her attention and steal her away for himself. Or maybe, she just lets him. In any event, he's sabotaging her style. But with a posse of men to be rid of, and the mess that has become her life, Kelly must first hit rock bottom, before she can even attempt to see the light in Drew's eyes.
Ex-lovers who would rather use their fists instead of words, thrills and excitement, illicit hook-ups, heartbroken friends and a man who can't help but try to reach inside and save those parts of her he sees shine. It all makes for a turbulent time. And just when Kelly thinks she's made it out the other side, another saboteur enters her life. Will Kelly let Drew save her? Or will she revert to her old ways? Or will they even get a chance to find out?
Love at first sight has never been so dangerous and so very delicious at the same time.
Nicola Claire lives in beautiful Taupo, New Zealand with her husband, two teenage boys and a Miniature Schnauzer named Rudy.
A bit of a romance junkie, she can be known to devour as many as half a dozen books a week if she drinks too much coffee. But her real passion is writing sexy, romantic suspense stories with strong female leads and alpha male protagonists who know how to love them.
So far, she’s written well over 70 books. She might have caught the writing bug; here’s hoping there’s no cure!
I'm so glad Kelly found her rainbow of colors and didn't end up staying in black. Drew.. YOU ROCK!!
I've been so fortunate to have been able to read this series from book 1 to 6 one after the other because the characters have stayed 'fresh', and the story-line interesting and intriguing.
So.. now I have to wait (imagine that) for book 7, which is Eric's story. (YAY!!) Thank God it's only going to be a couple of weeks because I have a tenancy to get caught up in other stories/series, and get side-tracked into continuing with a series I've grown to love.
Here is the picture Nicola has posted on her Facebook pages of "her boys"
Holy Hot Lawyer Batman! I had no idea Drew was gonna be such a naughty man! :D I have loved every book in this series since I first stumbled upon Sweet Seduction Sacrifice! And of course, I loved this one too! That being said, I felt Sabotage had a more emotional tone to it for the first 60% or so. Kelly broke my heart and I just wanted her to find her way out of the darkness she found herself sliding into. Through the other books, I have been quite curious about her and her wild lifestyle. I could just tell she had a lot more going on than she let the people around her see. As for Drew, to be honest I never really gave him much thought. Probably because he hadn't had a starring role yet. I am so glad I got to get to know him better and see what an amazing guy he is! I loved how deeply he cared for Kelly and how he was devious enough to maneuver the relationship they shared to his liking! ;) Their sexy times were freaking hot! And just around the time I was wondering if there would be an action of the blow-em-up variety, and getting a little antsy for it (60% ish) all hell broke loose! From then on it was non stop and I couldn't tear my eyes away from my kindle! Seriously, I was even up way past my bedtime to finish! And I have to say, Ms. Claire even threw in a little twist that had me scared to death near the end. I wasn't sure if it was all a joke or if it were real. I won't say more on that as it will spoil, but she did an amazing job keeping the suspense going! This is definitely one of my top favorite series, and I can't wait to read Eric's book next. And of course, I'll be (im)patiently waiting for Adam's book to finally come out hopefully soon!!! :D (hint hint ;))
3 1/2 stars. This one is a little weird for me. I am a big fan of this series--mostly because I love romantic suspense type books. I am not really sure how this one fits in with the rest of the series. This one seemed to be two different books in one. The first almost 60% was the story about a woman having a "hallelujah" moment, and trying to change what she considers an empty way of living, and a man who is trying to show her how incredible she is. It was a sweet love story of learning self worth--combined with totally hot--and I mean HOT--intimate scenes complete with voyeurism. This was pretty much the entire first 60%, with not much more happening.
The second part of the book was like something out of a Bruce Willis movie. I guess I was looking for action and suspense--well I got it. Pretty much nothing else to say about it his part.
Even though I thought it was confusing, I did enjoy it. I like this author's writing style, and I enjoyed visiting with the characters from the previous books. I think I may have enjoyed it more as a stand alone, and not part of this series. I guess if the author is trying to keep the series fresh, and not rely on the same type of plot, I think she succeeded. It just wasn't what I was expecting.
Love this series and this book was just what I come to love with this author. Kelly which we know is Gen's best friend and works at the coffee shop with her is the focus. The first part was a bit slow, not a bad thing but not what I have come to expect with this series. Kelly is doing some revaluating of her life and what she wants out of it. Drew is Dom's best friend and one of the other lawyers in the firm. He isn't what I would say is an alpha male but he is protective of Kelly. He became part of her group of men but when she started to make changes he refused to be let go. I really liked how he told her he wanted her. There banter back and forth about the colours of the rainbow at times got to be a bit much for me but over all it was good. Then you get to second half of the book. I love this series and would say to everyone if you like your males hot, protective and demanding this series is for you. I'm really liking that it's set in New Zealand, so nice to see one that not in the states, not that I have a problem with that but it's nice to see somewhere different. ✫✫✫✫✫
3.5 but I didn't round up as I didn't enjoy this book as much as others in the series. I think it was because of the time scale the book is set over (half the novel is set over an 8 - 12 hour period).
I was expecting so much more from Kelly's story as I think she could have been a far more interesting character with more complexities than were shown in the story. Also the other characters from the series could have been used more to develop the tale and I just don't think they were utilised as effectively as in previous titles.
The hero though was typical alpha aka hot. He had an intriguing back story but again I think it was just touched upon and could have been a lot more insightful and would have added more depth to the tale.
I get the theme of colours and whatnot in the story but mentions of red this and green that just got a little annoying (may just be me) but I did like the other symbolism of stars, sun and light.
That being said it was solid writing as I have come to expect from NC and was a good read, if not riveting. Will definitely read more by this author and future titles in this series.
This was another great addition to the series, even if the author changed up the formula a bit, which I enjoyed. Most of the story follows Kelly as she evaluates the life she's led for the past 15 years, how she wants to move forward and make big changes towards a brighter future. And one of those things she does is cancel all of her standing dates with 5 men. Of course, one man doesn't want to let her go, he's been secretly sabotaging her dates for the past several months, but she's been letting him. Drew is a force to be reckoned with, he doesn't let Kelly hide or become depressed. He works hard to give her sunshine and love, but also hot, voyeuristic interactions he knows she needs. And, we can't forget the suspense part of the story, I was on the edge of my seat, waiting to see what happened. I may have had to put my Kindle down during one part, so I didn't lose it and embarrass myself. But, Nicola gave me a wonderful HEA and epilogue to make up for the heartache.
"Not fucked. Not had hard and fast sex. But slow and long and tender love. Hot and sweaty and totally involved. Body, mind, heart and soul. You feel it inside your chest. You feel it inside your head. Your body craves the next sweet caress, your nerves tingle, your breath rushes in eager puffs of air. You're wet, but not because it's naughty or dangerous, but because you can't help wanting to connect with that person, to share a part of yourself, to let them in and let them take you to some place you can only ever dream about when on your own. Some place mystical and magical. Some place safe, but so exquisitely exciting that you can't even believe that it's real. But it is. It so fucking is."
"I'll help you pack, sternchen. And I promise you as much colour as you can handle every single day for the rest of our lives."
Finally Kelly's story!!! Once I started I didn't want to put this one down. My only problem is I didn't want this book to end. I think Drew may be my favorite alpha so far in this series. I loved him from beginning to end. Perfect in every way. Ofcourse I loved all the supporting chacters and what they brought to the story and I must say the sex was out of this world. I have enjoyed the entire series thus far and would recommend this one to anyone who loves a little suspense, some action and tons of hot sexy scenes. A complete story that will leave you wanting more.
Just WOW. So so many emotions in this book. I was more than half way through and thought "there hasn't been any action" and boy do I wish I hadn't thought those words because Nicola Claire sure delivered action.
Loved Drew Kline and all the other fine ASI men. But I did have MAJOR Dom feels in this one.
This was the best book of the series so far... love Drew and Kelly..I read this book in one day.. so much suspense. it will make tough and cry.. oh yeah, lots of sexiness also.. Can't wait for the next book.. hopefully it will be out soon..
This book was without a doubt the best book in e series so far!!! Omg i cannot explain how much i loved this book!! I wont provide any spoilers but i will say read this damn book!!!
We met Kelly in book one and finally in book six, Sweet Seduction Sabotage, we get her story. Not only was this book emotionally intense, but it was also edge-of-my-seat intense for danger, as well. I expected Kelly to have a story, but the story we got broke my heart for the sweet, vivacious best friend we've gotten to know, and coupled with the danger, they blew me away.
Summary: Kelly Quayle has always been the one to call when having a good time is on the brain. She's the life of the party and thrives on finding hits of adrenaline whenever and wherever she can, including with the five guys he maintains on her hook. But, the reason Kelly lives this way is dark and heartbreaking. When Kelly wakes up one morning in a stranger's bed with no memory of how she got there, she's forced to face the lifestyle she lives and those demons she's carried for fifteen years. Panic and fear at what she's let herself become motivates her to reevaluate her life and the people in it. When Kelly was thirteen events beyond her control caused her to spiral into the darkness and she found herself shrouded in black. Always having that black on the edges of her life, sent her down the road she finds herself, and she realizes she must start with a clean slate and find out who she really is. To do this, she must get rid of the five guys she uses as companions when needed. Knowing this won't be easy because she does care for them (she just doesn't let them get too close), Kelly sets out jumpstart her life as a new Kelly. What Kelly never anticipated was the interference and her allowing it, of one of her five who may have become closer than the others despite their very brief trysts. Drew Kline is Gen's man Dom's business partner and best friend. Kelly was immediately attracted to him upon meeting him, but never thought she'd do it for him, too. That all changed when both attended a weekly BBQ at Gen and Dom's and Drew approached Kelly with a proposition she couldn't refuse. Although Drew is one of five, Kelly has kept him secret from her closest friends, and Drew has made a point of showing up wherever Kelly is, even if she's on a date. Not being able to help herself, Kelly allows him to sabotage her dates because he gives her a red so bright and fiery that it can't help but push that black further away. Kelly also knows Drew will be the hardest of her five to cut ties with. Again, Kelly didn't anticipate Drew not letting her go and when one of her five prefers his fists to words, Drew will determine and demand to be the one to help save her from herself and her past. Stunned, Kelly isn't sure of this plan as she has never been in an exclusive relationship before, but Drew paints a picture with rainbow colors and she can't fight the yearning for that life. Embarking on a relationship with Drew is scary and panic-inducing and necessitates Kelly telling Drew about her whole past. About her dad leaving, her mom becoming a shell of her former self, and about her dad kicking her when she was down. It all worked to make her the person she is today, good and bad. But that's it, there are good parts to Kelly that has inspired the love of Gen and a whole slew of people, but the bad parts are what need to be culled before they drag her completely under or force out all the good. Drew can help. He brings rainbow colors, bright and vivid, into Kelly's life. Embracing it strikes fear in Kelly, but it also wakes her up to the fact that it's something she wants, especially after seeing the relationships all her friends are part of. With a plan and feeling content, a feeling Kelly hasn't felt in a long time, Drew and Kelly proceed, but just when they both found what they never knew they were looking for, a threat from the Sweet Seduction crew's past comes back and wreaks havoc. When Kelly and Drew find themselves locked away in the locked down District Court building with an evil drug lord and too many mercenary soldiers, they will need to call on a strength and love they never they could feel to survive. Finding a way out without being caught is priority, but finding Dom who's been taken hostage is also on the list. With nothing for it, Drew and Kelly will take their lives in their hands and risk everything in the name of love, friendship, and loyalty. Both will learn the true meaning of all of those and so much more while facing an evil who doesn't care what he has to do to remove those that stand in his way.
Like I've said in previous reviews, I've loved Kelly from the first. I was drawn by her vivacious energy, loyalty, and all around bubbly personality. After reading the blurb, I was aware that all was not right in Kelly's world and that she put on a facade, but I wasn't prepared for the heart wrenching past she let us be privy to. My heart broke for her, and I was ecstatic that she found Drew to help her through it. Drew was an altogether different alpha from Nicola's previous heroes. He was indeed alpha, but more in an adorkable way. Lol. He was strong and brave and demanding, but hopelessly inadequate in the face of a building siege. Yes, him and Kelly did their part, but with any other hero we've seen, including Dom, we probably would have seen them taking out mercs one by one. I loved that he was this way. He was everything I'd want in a possessive alpha, but with a sweet sensitive side. Together, him and Kelly were exquisite. Drew could give her everything she's ever been looking for, but in a more controlled and healthy way. I loved it. We got peeks at our other couples, including a wedding, and the conclusion to a storyline that started in Sacrifice but peaked in Surrender. Overall, I truly loved Kelly's story just like I knew I would, but it still doesn't beat Ben and Abi. Next up is Eric from ASI followed by Adam (my loving stalker). I can't wait to see what these men bring to the table and what surprises Nicola has in store for us. <3
This is going to hurt me a little, I love Nicola Claire and the Sweet Seduction series but this one for me was just OK...
I have to say this was not what I expected... I was not drawn in right away by intrigue like in the previous books, and from the blurb I expected one type of plot and I feel like I got something completely different. I was a little disappointed by that... It seemed like the plot was going in one direction when Kelly had the issues breaking it off with Kane. But then Kelly & Drew end up caught in this random building siege... It was absolutely exciting and suspenseful but it didn't seem apart of "their" story... It was just this event that happened to them. It definitely fit the story of the last few books and seemed to wrap up some of that stuff, but I wish there had been more of a suspenseful plot directly related to Drew & Kelly. Maybe tied to her stable of men?? That's what I was hopping for anyway.
That being said...
The character development for Kelly was very good. We were in her head a lot so it was easy to understand her and the things she did. At times I did feel there was too much narration though.
Drew, Drew, Drew... I am in love with Drew. He was spectacularly written and the perfect partner for Kelly. The words that came out of his mouth seriously had me swooning all over my kindle ;).
~"You've been the wish I've made every night since I met you." ~ Drew
And as usual Nicola Claire has written some seriously H.O.T stuff.
Over all I'm giving this addition to the Sweet Seduction series a 3 star. It was ok and my issues could be just that - my issues - everyone else could think I missed the mark on this one. I did enjoy Drew & Kelly as a couple and I really liked the epilogue. I will most definitely be reading book 7 because one "kinda miss" is no where near enough to stop me from reading one of my most liked Authors.
MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS - I seriously enjoyed this book! I haven't read anything from this series in a while, I remember that the last book was a little dull. Gen's best friend Kelly Quayle has been the fun-loving party girl all throughout the series, sleeping around & being carefree. At age 28 Kelly has spent 15 years since her father left her family high & dry building up a "squad" of bed buddies, almost like a sex addict. One of the friends-with-benefits is Dom's lawyer friend Drew, and it is Drew's plan all along, as heartbreaking as it is for him, his gut filled with jealousy, to sabotage her hookups & to be the last man standing, the man who can prove that sex can still be wild & an adventure while also safe within a monogamous relationship. I wasn't prepared for Drew & Kelly's story to pull at my heartstrings but I could completely relate to Kelly. She is determined to change her ways when she wakes up in a stranger's bed & can't remember much from the night before. Even when she's with Drew & she has narrowed down the men on her list, she feels so dirty when they accidentally forget a condom, like she is disgusting & Drew deserves way better. But Kelly becomes Sternchen, his little star, he's so drawn to her. "You've been the wish I've made every night since I met you." Calls her a fallen angel. This is the guy Kelly needed to prove that men aren't cruel, men don't leave, men don't always kick you when you're down. The intensity of ASI & criminal drama surrounding Declan King finally kicks in towards the end of the book & Drew & Kelly continue to bond during a terrible situation. Drew & Kelly's love story, and their chemistry & heat, & the sweet lovemaking that Kelly gets to experience for the first time, was really special & I loved it!!

Sweet Seduction Sabotage is the story of Kelly and Drew. These two met and instantly had an attraction but Kelly doesn't commit to relationships because of stuff in her past. But Drew is tired of waiting on Kelly to get it together so now he's going to start pushing her so he can take what is his. These two have friends, ex lovers, and some highly rated bad guys trying to get in the way of their colorful rainbow they've created but alas they will not give up!
I really enjoyed this book. It's probably one of my favorites of this series. The only complaint I really have is sometimes it felt like Kelly had a whole lot of "inner monologue" It felt like a whole lot of the book was just her thinking, and not really acting, or talking with anyone else in the book. Other than that the plot line in this one was very good, although it was kind of sad towards the end. It really had a whole huge suspenseful section that had me holding my breath trying to figure out what will happen next. Now I'm even more excited to read more in this series!! I can't wait to find out whose next, if there is going to be another one..
Again, READ THE OTHERS IN THIS SERIES BEFORE THIS ONE; It's not super critical, but a lot of side comments and back stories of the other characters help to
This one's about Kelly -- who has a breakdown after waking up with a one-night stand she can't remember. It forces her to reevaluate her life choices and she decides that she needs to break up with all the men she's seeing and find herself. What we finally learn is who the mysterious "Fred" is... and I won't spoil it.
The first 75% of this book is about Kelly's relationships with men, her Daddy issues, and how Fred helps her through all this. And there's LOTS of SEX. LOTS AND LOTS OF IT. And LOTS of public sex.
Again, this author's formula of having the men fall in love at first sight comes into play here. As with all of the books in this series there's a thriller element and Kelly and "Fred" are forced into a situation to help save their friends.
There are some typos throughout, but it didn't hinder my ability to read this; I just wish the author had proofread her work before publishing (I read the e-version).
I like this series and I think this is the best book of the series so far. Kelly is a wild child living life on her own terms and answering to no man. Drew is a respected lawyer with a hidden streak of wild. Together they change each other's life but this only half the story. They find themselves is a situation where not only do their lives, but the lives of others depend on their new found trust of each other. I read this book in one sitting because I did not see the problem coming and once it did I couldn't put it down until it resolved. Great action, great suspense and a great love story.
Kelly decides to limit her sexual activities from 5 men down to one which is good but then it seems anything or anywhere goes with Drew, the one she keeps. This continues thru 3/4 of the book. Sabotage really takes off when they get trapped in the coat room for a quickly when terrorists take over the building and start killing and blowing up the place. Keeping out of sight while trying to find out what's going on and staying alive adds suspense and excitement in another wise stale story. The book was okay and I liked Kelly & Drew but I like more to a story of sex whenever or wherever you can get it. It could have been much better.
Quite possibly my favorite of the series! I just LOVED Kelly and Drew! I had wanted to learn more about Kelly since she was first introduced, and now we finally get to see the real her. She is certainly a complex character, and this really showed her development. Drew, as with all of Claire's heroes, is so great and love-able. This book had lots of action and suspense, which I had felt was a little lacking in the most recent books. And we got to catch up with Gen and Dom as they prepare for the wedding and baby! I couldn't put this book down and am so excited for the next one!
Enjoyed the book it was interesting to see how one chooses a the life they lead. It was cool but I prefer 'badass' men even though Drew was interesting as a character. It started with romance and ended up with action packed drama. Did not expect that but thoroughly enjoyed it. Awesome! Cant wait for the next story and would recommend. Would like more background into the characters but still abso-frickin-awesome!
I loved this book. It definitely had enough jealousy to keep me happy. My only complaints are that she should have dumped her fourth man in person and it is kind of weird how the lead dude fell as fast and hard as he did. Also, shouldn't he have done more during the months when he knew he was in love?? However, the danger they were in and the adventure they had really sucked me in. I could hardly put it down. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves romance and an adventure.
In the last three days I have read books one to six in this series and thank God there is a book seven I can dive straight into. I love this series, intelligent no-nonsense men, strong women, hot sex and a really clever continuous tale that allows you to follow the respective couples; whilst gaining a bigger picture of the ever present back story.
I didn't like Kelly at all but I decided to give her a shot. I'd read the first five books so, what the heck? Well, I gave it a few chapters and I really, really liked and understood Kelly. This is a great book. Not what you're expecting at all. Drew? Whoa, Baby!
party girl, thrill and sex addict has an epiphany or two and changes her life, finds love, true love...and falls headfirst into danger and finds courage and integrity at her center. happy ending for main characters.
Another fabulous addition to the series.....Best one yet
I keep saying this is my favorite yet and then I read the next in the series.... Best storyline for the bad guys yet.......Drew hot, hot hot.....all red baby loved it....
This book is the one I like the most in this series. The growth of Kelly and the changes she makes in her life are very believable. It better written and editing has been improved. BEL 51
So finally Kelly falls in love, I wasn't expecting that. Especially not with Drew. I didn't hear much from drew in the previous books but I'm glad I got to know him. He sounds strong and demanding just like Jason. I would really like to see If the last ADK partner finds love somewhere.
