RIDMARK ARBAN is the Gray Knight, questing to stop the return of the terrible Frostborn to the High King's realm. Yet the soulstone, the instrument of the return of the Frostborn, has been stolen by a ruthless cult and secured within the grim fortress of the Iron Tower.
And Ridmark must risk everything to retrieve it.
MARA wishes only to live peacefully. Yet her father was a dark elven wizard of power, and his shadow-tainted blood flows through her veins, threatening to transform her into a monster.
Yet that is not the greatest danger she faces.
For the Iron Tower was once home to an ancient evil, an evil that desires to claim the power in her blood...
Standing over six feet tall, USA Today bestselling author Jonathan Moeller has the piercing blue eyes of a Conan of Cimmeria, the bronze-colored hair of a Visigothic warrior-king, and the stern visage of a captain of men, none of which are useful in his career as a computer repairman, alas.
He has written the DEMONSOULED series of sword-and-sorcery novels, and continues to write THE GHOSTS sequence about assassin and spy Caina Amalas, the COMPUTER BEGINNER'S GUIDE series of computer books, and numerous other works. His books have sold over one million copies worldwide.
I'm starting to find these books a tiny bit formulaic, but I still find them incredibly easy to pick up and rather difficult to put down. The plot twists came thick and fast, as did the action, and the climax, even with the mean pause in the middle of it was nice and delicious and oh so satisfying. The main plot is advancing slowly, and since not much happened in this book, I'm hoping more happens there in the next book, which I can't wait to read.
Well now As Ridmark continue trying to find out more about the frostborn his allies have their own issues and why they have joined him Like the half human half dark elven assassin or the female Magistria missing most of her memories except for the very current ones. But Ridmark it seems has finally gotten one major issue off his back and is will to come to terms with what happened in the past and that it wasn't his fault for it. Even in these terrible times there was a little bit of happiness with two of the friends who are growing closer and closer. Will they succeed at stopping the frostborn will any of them survive to talk about a better future?
I am heartbroken. The choice was like a knife through my heart! I can't wait to see how Calliande handles this horrible turn of events. My heart aches for her. Why Ridmark, why? It better be a one time thing. I don't know if I could bear that coupling.
One of the better ones in the series so far and finally the sexual tension is over. Just need to read the next one to find out how this plays out. Great story with good characters and at least now they have a bit more humor in the book with Jager and his sarcastic comments and insights.
I am thoroughly enjoying this series! Love the characters, the plot twists and just want to read one more chapter before I put the book down! Can’t wait til I get the next one- totally invested😊

For the Iron Tower was once home to an ancient evil, an evil that desires to claim the power in her blood... This continueing story of the Gray Knight goes right along with the other books. Grabs you and continues to hold you through the end. I really try not to read them in one sitting but it is realy hard not to. You will enjoy this series, but you should starty with the first book and work you way through. Great Reading Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was diverted from reading the latest Jeff Wheeler book The Maid's War by Amazon's suggestion that I read the Frostborn Omnibus. This is the second book in the series post-omnibus, and I am still enjoying the story immensely. Our band of heroes is growing... In addition to an orc, a dwarf, white and dark magic users, and an outcast knight we now have a halfling thief and his woman, the half dark elf assassin! He's recycling all the old fantasy tropes in some fun and interesting ways.
The Frostborn series maintains its high quality of writing, story, and character development. Moeller must balance a; disgraced knight, wizard with no memory, 7 foot tall orc, Christian dwarf, orphan, thief, assassin, and an earth witch as the good guys fighting dark elves and many hideous creatures. Great series. I recommend it.
Anyone who lives LoTR, Robin Hobb, G. R. R. Martin etc will love these books. Yes, it gets a bit repetitive at times to hear the main protagonist 's story but one doesn't get the full story of what occurred all at once. I'm on!y starting book 6, so I'm excited to read the whole series about Ridmark and his followers!!!
Book 5 and still the story does not get to tedious. I will continue with the Frostborn series. There are still grammatical errors in the story that is why I did not give it a 5* rating.
I enjoyed this book just like the others and the ending was well earned. It was an enthralling read and is still as strong, if not stronger, than when I read the first book. I can not see what yet ahead!
A solid book in the series, there are some changes to the team with some intense fighting, good story. Writing is a bit workmanlike but an easy book to read.
I do like the world, and there are some clever ideas. From a secret cult in the ruling classes to an ancient sorceress who has no memories, a band of characters each with different skills, a wider mission to stop an impending disaster with smaller missions - like the one in this book - distracting and derailing their progress. It should be a 5 star book. In theory it's a masterpiece.
In reality, the hero leading the group is too powerful/overly competent and lucky to the point it's more like a kids cartoon. There's little worry or tension even in challenging situations as you always know they are going to be ok, with the lead character saving the day through his implausible levels of skill, insight and luck. Perhaps combined with the lack of character depth and lack of tension, what could be a 5 star masterpiece is reduced to a more a comic book/teenager sort of level.
That said it's still not a bad book. After all, the premise and ideas are still there, and it's an easy and engaging read (albeit one with zero tension). It also evokes a DnD feel, albeit one with the kindest dungeon master ever. These things mean that although it won't ever be brilliant its eminently readable and a nice easy fun read and adventure. This one is no different from all the others - a decent story, an enjoyable read, but kind of basic due to elements of plot and lack of suspense. It ticks all the things you want without too much of a pull or emotional drain, and the end result is something I quite enjoy, whilst also wishing it were better. I will say this is the first time the writer surprised me slightly with one plot twist. Hopefully a sign of promise as the series continues. 3 stars.
I enjoyed book 5. It had errors and multiple repeated information throughout. The characters are mostly sound, other than the repeated information about each. The plot has gotten better too. I look forward to book 6
Finally! Paul gets knocked out of his position! I heavily disliked this character. Now that these side quests are over, we can finally get to Urd Morlemoch. I wasn't expecting Morigna, I thought it would be Calliande.

Pure genius! A pleasure to read from start to finish! There are only a handful of authors that I can truly say this about and Jonathan Moeller is one of them.
I have only read the first four books in the series. I am hooked on the characters. Will somebody please tell the author and or the publisher that whom ever is responsible for "Proof Reading" of these books before going to print is doing a horrible job. The misspellings can be very annoying.
Two new additions to the group, Mara and Jagar. This was very enjoyable. However, the predictable outcome is starting to get tiresome.
If you are happy reading a safe story, whereby, good always prevails over evil then you’ll be happy.
The best parts are the battles and characters, I do like the characters, all of them!
I need to read to the end of the Frostborn series! Can’t wait until Calliande finds her staff, but I need to read something else next, something, less predictable to keep my brain alert.
