This story was one big ole journey that will bring you to the edge of your seat with suspense and some serious sensual sexy panty melting moments, it is intriguing and un-put-a-down-able and I loved parts got annoyed with parts but overall I enjoyed it.
Book One I have to be honest with you in that it did take me a little while to get into it at the beginning, you have to understand that both these characters are pretty immature in this first instalment, they come from completely different backgrounds one from money one not, one wanting to find a future with someone and one running from it. I can say that the first half I very much about them understanding each other and working out what they both want. I think my issue was that there's a lot of back and forth, they want, they don't want. Saying all this once I got on a roll and got past all this I enjoyed the last half incredibly and it rolled pretty quickly. Emotions were high and lots occur, there's so many questions to still answer and I found myself questioning everything, the people they know, the people that are there but not exactly secondary characters but behind the scene characters. This has some suspense, secrets, and romance, I enjoyed the family element of the story, it had such a protective loyal loving feeling to it near the end I enjoyed seeing Tylar being part of a family and seeing her stand up for herself eventually.
Tylar- Is strong, independent and loyal to those she cares about.
Trey- Trey is stubborn, he was hurt previously which in turn is a big factor in the back and forth business. Saying that he is domineering, he wants her to be his and cares for Tylar immensely. He has that 'MINE' tendancy in him but then he is also very sensual, loving and caring and just wants her to be ok, above all he just wants to protect Tylar.
4.5 stars
Book Two
WOW This is the middle book and in that for me I really felt like it was the middle man a much slower tranquil read, firstly there's a lot of plot twists and some questions start to get answered I'm really not going to give you any more cause as a reader you need to find out all these events how Andrea wanted you too. What I will talk about and enjoyed about this one was the family element Trey as a dad, Tylar as a mum and how they all bonded and how much work it is however beautiful, lovely and such a rewarding job Andrea really did depict how as us parents and especially as mums live. Feeding our babies, nappies, food, arguments, love and everything in-between this is a very normal and real story.
4 stars.
Book Three Ok I have to say this hands down was my favourite. I loved everything in it, there is a whole lot of Angst in this one and in all honesty that is one of my favourite reads so it may not be everyone's love, I won't say why its there but there are a few mistakes along the way (maybe some immature) but really by the end of the book I could totally understand Andreas reasons for going down that path for me it was Trey understanding how Tylar needed her man to 'UNDERSTAND' her and be there as a husband to his wife. Tylar has to learn lots of new changes in her life, she has to live with those changes and also went down a small destructive route in the end though it was a fully beautiful ending with a capital T.
All in all this was a great read full of intrigue, plot twists, good character development love, sexy scenes and family.
"Sometimes the most precious things in life are the result of just letting it happen"
Wow that was a long ride!
First things off, Past Tense Future Perfect is an omnibus of Andrea Smith’s previously published Maybe Baby series (3 books), so some of you may already remembered Trey Sinclair & Tylar Preston from back then.
Trey & Ty’s love story stretches across the entire series and brings you on an emotional journey. There’s everything from angst to steamy to suspense and *wait for it* DRAAHHMAAA. So if you love your romance stories with all of the above, then this is a series you should try out.
I admit that it started out slow for me and I couldn’t really connect to both MCs. At times, I even zoned out from some filler scenes & skimmed through because they were way too detailed and didn't do much to pique my interest. But once the suspense element was thrown in, I was back on track and it became a page-turner for me!
However, there were some twists that felt a little too rushed for me & would have preferred if it would have been done in Book 2 instead. That being said, Book 1 was my least favorite of the series but since it ended off on a cliffie that had a great potential going into Book 2, I decided to take a chance.
Book 2 was my favorite one in the series having much more maturity shown between Trey and Ty since the events of Book 1. There was also more depth in the plot as we delve more into Trey’s family and Ty’s past. I can appreciate Ty & Trey’s relationship better in this book as they worked towards being a better couple even with all the drama and angst going on. Added in with some humor and sexy fun time, this book definitely covered all the aspects I loved in a romance book ♥
Well I liked Book 3, but didn’t love it as much as Book 2. This book went in with a more heavy tone. Also, there was which I tend to naturally dislike. But I will commend Andrea for handling it in a realistic manner & not completely rush it. There were some heart-melting moments that made me aww-ed for sure :) Also I enjoyed seeing more of the side characters’ life (loved Gina & Tristan!) & overall, it was a great conclusion to an emotional journey for everyone.
The series as an overall was definitely an emotional one with all the suspense, drama and angst thrown in but it was well-balanced without it being OTT for me. If anything, it has definitely highlighted the strength of Trey & Ty’s relationship after facing all those trials and tribulations. Added in with some great humor from side characters like Gina and Tristan and a dose of steamy scenes from T&T, it was an overall enjoyable read for me :)
~ BR with all my lovely ladies & Andrea herself! Also a HUGE thanks to Andrea Smith for generously providing me a copy ♥~["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
I must admit this was a bit long...but hey 3 books, that I believe were previously separate, now condensed into one amazing journey. If you are looking for a powerful romance with all those key ingredients such as angst, drama, suspense, heat, and passion...then you will not have to look beyond Past Tense Future Perfect! Andrea Smith created a beautiful flawless Alpha...Trey Sinclair. This man is wealthy, he is well bred, he is smart, and he is brazen. He knows what he wants...all the reasons he shouldn't have it, yet he still gets it! He is also all man! From his arrogant swagger to his voracious sexual appetite, he alone is worth the 3 days I invested in this series! But...he seems to have his Achilles heal...a young naïve Tylar Preston. Who is the broken girl from nowhere? This girl is a breath of fresh air from the wealthy sophisticated yet desperate women around Mr. Sinclair. She has some backbone, yet needs saving. She is innocent, yet begs for dark pleasure. She is it for Trey...from first encounter. What happens when Trey and Tylar come together is a relationship of pure raw heat filled with drama and every possible up and down that two people could possibly experience in a life time.
Tied up in the story of their lives is a mess of mysterious pasts, kidnappings, murders, seductions and betrayals, and over the top family drama! So many OMG moments coupled with LOL fun...yet most importantly so much deep intense love and passion that is constant. Two characters...so much... I will say that this was a bit of a crazy ride! I rated the series as a whole instead of breaking down the 3 books. I loved Trey Sinclair! Yes he beyond pissed me off many of times, and his big boo-boo moment devastated me...but I love how he evolved. His love and possessiveness of Tylar and his family was endearing...his need for her gut wrenching. My only gripe, yep I do have one! OH MISS TYLAR...girl you made me nuts!!! So brave yet so weak, so independently dependent...and mostly so much a hypocrite at times! OMG, I get you past drama, but girl...it took me quite a long time to like you! That being said...Take this journey...you will not be disappointed!
Previously sold as separate novels under the "Baby Series" I made the business decision to put the books all together as one boxed set so to speak under one brand new cover and title! The content is still the same, and I will always LOVE Trey Sinclair the best of any of the alphas I've created.
My first book by Andrea Smith was Diamond Girl and I fell hook, line and sinker for the author and the series!! I finally got around to reading her first series, this one, and I really enjoyed it. While the books were really long and I found the first one in particular, very detailed (some times too much), this was an awesome love story.
The relationship of Tylar Preston and Trey Sinclair is the main focus of this series.
Ms. Smith took me on a beautiful, tumultuous and uniquely sweet ride as Ty and Trey love, live, learn and grow together.
There were times that I wanted to scream and yell at both Ty and Trey and then there were times that I wanted to hug them. While not perfect, their relationship was one of a kind and they were so meant to be together.
I also really loved most of the other characters...Tristan and Gina were fantastic and there were some nasty ones (Maggie,Caroline, Amber, Karen) that I so loved to hate!!
This is a story that slowly seeps into your heart and soul. While, at times, there was some serious drama and angst, overall, this is an epic love story that has you crying, laughing, screaming and swooning throughout. Ty and Trey were like my best friends and at the end, I did not want it to end. Loved the epilogues, such awesome gifts into the future of Ty, Trey and their family. Thanks Andrea!!
I was provided a copy of Past Tense Future Perfect by Andrea Smith in exchange for an honest review.
Book 1: 4 Stars
I enjoyed this book a great deal. Some of the abuse doled out by and depravity of certain characters in this book really did not set well with me. Trey was very sexy in many ways but a bit over the top in others. I felt like at times he walked the line between being Alpha and Dominating and being Abusive. I really enjoyed the setting since a lot of it took place near or in my home state... that's always cool to catch those references.
The love story was pretty hard hitting and fast. There were several things that I just couldn't give this one a 5 star review for, but it didn't take away from my overall enjoyment of the book.
Book 2: 3 Stars
This was a more difficult read for me. There was a great deal of drama and not just oh this is angsty and fun and somewhat uncomfortable but some of it just made me question what in the world was going on. I almost felt like it was turning into a paranormal series at times. Which I love pnr but only if that's what it's supposed to be... I didn't like a great deal of the new characters and honestly don't think I was supposed too. There was a little too much breast feeding going on for me... I get it, it's a bonding experience between mother and child and all that good stuff... but I just heard entirely too much about Tylar's breast going into her babies mouth... Other things became repetitive in this one as well. Trey takes a lot of showers before going to bed and Tylar doesn't seem to do the same most of the time. LOL! I would think for as much as Trey likes to lick the kittie that - that would be different. This was definitely a more difficult one to get through but not a total clunker there was still a great deal that I enjoyed.
Book 3: 4 Stars
I thought the loss and difficulties that followed were rather realistic in this one. It still had a bit much of the repetition and some decisions were made that I thought were a bit moronic at times... However, I thought the pain and the denial of that pain, deflection, and other coping skills used were all very realistic. I love a great deal of the side characters and was happy to see them get their HEA in this one. Overall, this was a really enjoyable series. I highly recommend it to those who love - love, super hot orgasms & kitty licking, alpha males, babies, horses, hot lawyers, angst, drama, dysfunctional families, & fucked up family dynamics.
What can I possibly say that I haven't said about this author's amazing books. This is by far my favorite out of everything she's written. I love me some Trey. Andrea weaved together a book full of surprises. With her expertise in character development and plot she has given us one hell of an amazing book. If you haven't read any of her books yet I suggest you begin with this one where all of the magic began. Andrea is star quality and should be a NYT bestseller. Spread the love and let's help her get this. Don't miss this book it's well done and simply amazing! Two thumbs up to you, Andrea.
One of the best series I've ever read. The love between Tylar and Trey is so strong and deep. They have their ups and downs but they come out so much stronger than before.
I met Andrea at an Author Event in July 2014. She told me about her books and I said OMG those are the type I like to read. Well here she retired them but renamed them in a box set. I bought them and loved them.
Tylar grew up a only child with a mom that was a prostitute. Trey grew up with money. Tylar went to work on Trey's family's horse farm while on summer break from college. One night the hands decided to have a few and go swimming. Tylar had an accident that Trey saved her. He fell in love with her at that moment. They go through the typical couple problems. They get them worked out. Tylar has some big surprises though these books and she is a champ. Trey is there the whole step of the way. Their love is strong and just gets stronger as we move through their life. They are like they are always on their honeymoon so to speak
This book has romance, sex, thriller and mystery.I forgot how much I love books like this.It is very well written. it captured my attention from beginning and held my attention till the end. Hold on to your kindle because you are on for one hell of a ride. I absolutely LOVED these books. I forgot how much I loved books like this. Andrea AWESOME job. <3
Andrea Smith is a wonderful author. Her writing is great and she is so sweet. I started out on her G-Man series and that is when i fell in LOVE with her writing. Now I find out about this series and that it's put into one now......score lol. I really enjoyed this one! I love getting to know all these characters and what they are going through. I love Gina!! OMG Girlfriend HAHAHAHA. Well through out these three now one book you get answers pice by pice and I for one liked that. I like the twists and turns that you go through as you read. Book one had my heart pounding book two showed me new parts of the characters and boom three had my heart pounding. You also get parts here and there from a different POV LOVED THAT!! This is really a book you should grab. You will be missing out if you dont. Love you Andrea xoxo
I first read this anthology as the Baby Series and I loved them. This is the kind of book that has everything a reader is looking for romance, suspense, murder and hot steamy scenes. This is a story that was carefully thought out and developed, you can easily see as the story progresses that the author did a lot of research and put her heart and soul into it. The characters were carefully developed, and even though at times both Trey and Tylar had me wanting to smack them outside the head, they complements each other beautifully. Some of the secondary characters are a intricate part of the story, making it even more interesting. If you're looking for a story that will keep you hooked from beginning to end and not wanting to put it down, this is it. Highly recommended!
This book is a reworking of the Baby series books into one omnibus. As I didn't read the original Baby books this was all new to me and let me say: I loved it. It's an epic story of love and hate trust and mistrust with beautifully detailed characters. I came to love the main characters so much, but also all the supporting characters become a part of your life. What also stands out for me in this combined series: It doesn't peter out as much trilogies do, starting with a lot of angst and eventually coming down to safer waters which can be a bit boring. No, this grand tale keeps you on your toes till the end.
I received this set in exchange for an honest review. this trilogy was omg amazing! it had me laughing getting upset and what the! moments. andrea has a way of taking you on a ride and keep the twists and turns going, that you don't expect them. this story about trey and taylar was so amazing to experience. you will thoroughly enjoy this series and not want to put it down. THank you andrea for letting me experience this series.
I had to collect my thoughts before writing this review! So, essentially this is the story of Tylar Preston and her crazy journey to love. This book is a joining of all three parts of the formerly titled Baby series: Love My Way, Shadows and Dreams, and Eclipse of the Heart. It was such a roller coaster of emotion from book to book!
Tylar has learned to be self-sufficient after finally getting away from her horrid mother! Years of emotional abuse have left Tylar with some vast insecurities. She finds herself on the Sinclair farm working with horses and loving every moment. However, a chance encounter with Trey Sinclair leaves her reeling with doubt, confusion, and a healthy dose of lust! Trey is the privileged son and heir to the Sinclair farms with a suspicious romantic past and an alpha personality bigger than any I've read before!
It's hard to give a more in depth review without spoilers!!! But at least you can rest assured that all the answers are here in one volume. I loved the mystery and suspense aspects of the stories. There was even a little bayou/voodoo thrown in! The only thing that held me back was that some characters were almost too easily disliked for my comfort. There are times when Tylar's best friend, Gina, is almost despicable in her friendship and getting Tylar in trouble. Then there are times that I think I'm so angry at Trey, I hoped that there was another love interest just waiting to take over.
There are very dark and disturbing plot twists that will be hard for some readers to accept. There are true-to-life situations that some readers will find off-putting about our main characters. But all in all, this book kept me interested through all three parts. It definitely has a little bit of everything!
I was provided a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book. It was one of those books that had me thinking about the characters and wanting more but also really content and satisfied with where it finished.
It starts with Tylar- a young virginal college student working a summer job at a stable and Trey- a hot, alpha male who is overseeing the stables while his parents are away. He is mysterious, protective, stubborn, and HOT and she is beautiful and strong willed with a troubled past. There is a lot of mystery going on with her past that kept the book interesting. In the beginning of book 1 I had a hard time feeling the chemistry between Trey and Tylar. I loved both characters but the relationship felt rushed and forced at times. By the end of book 1 though- I absolutely loved them together. I loved that the books followed them through the beginning/exciting stage of the romance to after having children. They have a hot and steamy sex life which is always great to see in a couple after they have been together and have a baby. A lot of books show the start of the romance and end with the woman being pregnant. I loved that the author followed this couple and let us see how their romance unfolds (with enough suspense/romance/mystery/sex scenes to keep us wanting more).
The author also does not disappoint with the sex scenes! It was a great combination of hot and steamy with realistic and sometimes humorous dialogue between Trey and Tylar. And they were never too few or far between :)
Andrea Smith has done it again with Past Tense Future Perfect! Her first three books have been combined into this complete series, which you will absolutely want to read altogether! I really enjoyed these three books and some of the characters...some. I loved the H, Trey and pretty much his whole family, especially his sweet and funny brother Tristan who we get to know really well in the 2nd and 3rd books. His character was well developed and very attractive to read. Honestly, I felt like he deserved someone much better than Tylar. I found her, our h, to be incredibly immature and naive. There were so many situations that I found myself rooting for the bad guy just so that maybe she got the hint and started acting and reacting differently. I really didn't love the way that she treated Trey either - it was just so callous and, about 80% of the way through, she does the unthinkable in my mind. I mean, what is her game? I get that she has had a difficult life and that more bad things have happened to her than to most people in their lifetime. She is one unlucky girl, but the way she acts was appalling to me. Even though I disliked the main h, the story lines and the exciting and twisty plot turns kept me reading on and wishing for the HAE that I did, indeed, happen to get! Just make sure you have a lot of time to read - this is a long series. Well done, Andrea - I look forward to reading more from you!
A copy of this series was gifted in exchange for an honest review.
This series is about Tylar, a young college student who is working at a horse stable/ race track for the summer. There she meets Trey the owners son. This is the story of how they met and fell in lone. Along the way there were major trials and tribulations. Tylar's past comes back to haunt her and she struggles to rise above it.
I really liked the way the author developed these characters. Tylar is a independent and strong willed woman. She is still young so is struggling a bit to find herself and her place in the grand scheme of things. I like that she knows her own mind and doesn't get pushed around easily. Also, I don't know much about horse racing, but I felt the author was very knowledgeable.
I didn't care for how long this series was. I felt like some of the drama became a bit too much. Also, the sex scenes were hot, but they were a bit repetitive. So were a few other bits in the book.
Overall, this is a love story if two people who are drawn to each other through circumstances. They struggle through tragedy and strife but manage to find their way back to each other.
ThIs was my first book that I read of Andrea Smith's. I have to say I absolutely loved it. Just the kind of books I like. The story of Trey and Tylar was amazing. It made me laugh, cry and think what the heck! Their story was amazing, he came from money and she came from nothing. They fell in love and experienced life. So many amazing turns in the book I didn't expect. Excellent writing which captured the characters perfectly. Highly recommend reading this series you will definitely enjoy it.
4 stars for this epic love story. I really enjoyed this after a bit of shaky start. I enjoyed getting to know Tylar ane Trey but the first book was a bit hot and cold so I had a bit of trouble connecting to them all the while knowing there was potential for a great story.
There was steam, mystery and a believable love story. Books two and three didn't disappoint and there relationship was more mature and flowing and you could feel the love and passion they both felt for each other. The added bonus was the lovable side characters.
A great read I'm happy to have taken the journey. :)
OMG! Past Tense Future Perfect which is three books in one blew me away. I loved Trey and Tyler. They had so many obstacles to overcome from day one of meeting each other. Andrea Smith has a way of telling a story that draws you in and you just can't put it down. I lost a lot sleep reading this but is was worth it. If you haven't read Andrea Smith before, do yourself a favor and -click one of her books. You won't be sorry.
I really enjoyed this series. It reminded me a lot of the Latin American soap operas I use to watch when I was adolescent. This series had a bit of everything....romance, mystery, drama, tragedy and humor. Reading this series was like watching a mini-series about a young woman's journey and what happens when lies and betrayals affect innocent people along the way. Ms. Smith is a great story teller and I recommend this series to all romance junkies!
I got this book for free on Amazon on 2-27-15 thinking it sounded interesting! At first I thought it might be a mushy romance type of book! Boy was I wrong! I feel in love with this series and all the twists and turns it took throughout the whole book! I just couldn't believe half the stuff that happened! This was an amazing read that I will recommend to all the book lovers I know. I can't wait to read more from this author.
What can i say about this series? i went through every emotion in the book while i read these books.the love connection between tylar and trey is so strong despite all that tylar has been through in her yound life. the ups and downs and twists and turns in this book kept me wanting to read more. they kept me wondering what was in store for me next. I look forward to reading more from this author
This is an amazing series . Loved it the first time I read it and loved it even more the second time I read it. Great romance, great story and lots of wow factors. A definite must read!
This is the first that I have read by this author, and I gotta say it was quite amazing. This book has sex, alpha male, women that can handle themselves, and it also shows how family is always there for you. This was quite long, but it was 3 amazing books. I would definitely recommend this book.
