When CJ Ryan's girlfriend decides life is less complicated without him, CJ travels a destructive path into despair, walking the line between what's right and what feels good. But what feels good is a dangerous slope to travel, especially when Lucifer wages war for his soul.
One wrong step and CJ could fall into the devil's trap, becoming no better than the demons he battles.
J.E. Taylor is an award winning, USA Today Bestselling author, a publisher, an editor, a mother, a wife, a business analyst, and a Supernatural fangirl, not necessarily in that order. She first sat down to seriously write in February of 2007 after her daughter asked:
“Mom, if you could do anything, what would you do?”
From that moment on, she hasn’t looked back.
In addition to being co-owner of Novel Concept Publishing (www.novelconceptpublishing), Ms. Taylor also moonlights as a Senior Editor of Allegory (www.allegoryezine.com), an online venue for Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror.
She lives in New Hampshire with her husband and during the summer months enjoys her weekends on the shore in southern Maine.
I struggled with this book. It started off ok and then it got hard to understand what was happening. I found myself re-reading sections and I still don't get the point of the book. The plot is very convoluted. The romance was kind of sweet, though. The end of the book was better even though it really had no conclusion to whatever the plot was supposed to be. I did feel bad for the MC at that point because he was struggling with amnesia. There really isn't much else to say about the book because it is hard to review an aimless book. I will say it had potential with the demons attacking all the time, if it had made much sense why they were attacking.
Readers of Ms. Taylor’s Trinity Rising and The Steve Williams Series will be thrilled to know the saga continues with The Ryan Chronicles. The series begins where The Trinity Rising series ended with the epic battle between Damian and Lucifer for the children of Damian and Naomi – triplets, two boys and a girl who is the true trinity. Now we get C.J.’s story, a young man with the power to destroy the world who has lost both parents and now the love of his life turns her back on him. C.J. must make a decision, spiral into a path of destruction or live his life dedicated to saving the trinity child – Grace.
I was fascinated with Ms. Taylor’s Trinity Rising series, which featured a centuries old vampire and his newly turned wife, both of whom were descendants of angels. I moved from that series to the Steve Williams series, Steve was a major player in the last book of Damian and Naomi’s story. An FBI agent who ended up adopting the two sons of a known criminal and the woman he once kidnapped and abused, both of whom had special talents that they passed on to their two sons and Steve.
C.J. is the oldest of their sons, he has been blessed or cursed according to how you look at it with the power to destroy anything in his path. The trouble is he has a slight problem with controlling his power and when his temper gets the best of him, it tends to leak out. Ms. Taylor starts her newest series out focusing on him, she gives us updates on the people we’ve met in the previous two series but C.J. is our main character. C.J. is not always easy to like, as a matter of fact there were times when I found myself disliking him so much I worried about the future of this series. He is one of those people that it takes extreme circumstances to find his own footing and following on the path is difficult but in the end, I found myself cheering for him and hoping for the best.
This story is not for the faint of heart, there are some pretty intense scenes which can be a bit graphic. There are times when you just might need to turn away and take a moment but if one is able to gather their wits and stick with it the reward is great. I love a good story and Ms. Taylor tells a story that, even if at times is almost too intense to bear, is gripping and a so spellbinding that the reader can’t help but be intrigued and satisfied with until the very ending. And therein lies one of my niggles, the ending. I won’t give it away but alas, it does give us one of those nasty cliffhangers that I’m not fond of. I’m not a reader that needs a happily ever after, nor do I mind a continuing story but I need a little closure of some sort and while there is some, there are a number of things left hanging that frustrated me. Will I read the next book, you betcha, and I’ll be anxiously awaiting it. This is the beginning of another saga by Ms. Taylor that anyone who likes a good mystery/thriller with a bit of paranormal, romance and some great characters will love.

It took me 3 months to read this book!!! I thought it was going to be exciting but it turned out to be nothing like try said. Even with the sex scenes didn't make it better. Angel verses evil had but much to do with it and saving Grace is a wrong title. Wouldn't recommend this book unless you're wanting to sleep. Glad it was free. I kept reading just hoping it'd be better, hate wasting a read.
This book was a quick read simply because I didn't want to put it down! The chapters just flew by and then all of a sudden was the end, and it was like WHAT? How could this be the end. This is my only compliant, as the book just sort of stopped. Definitely makes me want to go on to book two.
This book was an absolute mind fuck! Seriously I thought it was great and it made me flip out on more than one occasion. I loved the characters and I thought it was an absolute great mind fuck that kept me intrigued from start to finish.
A fascinating story. CJ has paranormal abilities and so does most of his family members. He meets Valerie and they become close. This is a fast paced and action packed demon destroying read. Want to read more.
This is such a phenomenal series,I was stunned when I got to the end because the pages flew by at an unnatural speed. The lives of the Ryan boys are far from normal and that is one of the many things that makes this story an exceptional read. In this series we pick up a few years after the last Steve Williams novel "Saving Face" left off. Now the boys are men and even more impressive than they were as teens.J.E. Taylor is an author that knows how to weave an interesting tale,as an avid reader I feel that a good book should catch your attention from page one, this book does that in spades.I love the supernatural aspects of this book as well as the superb writing ,plus two of my favourite characters from J.E's "Night Hawk series " is in this ( Damian and Naomi).I liken this book to potato chips, you truly can not have just one. Now I am off to the next book because I simply cannot rest until I have finished these delightful tales. In case my review wasn't clear enough,I Highly Recommend This Book!!!
I kept feeling like I was missing something. As it turns out this is a spinoff and I missed a lot. Sadly, I could not get into this and it didn't make me go back and read the previous books.
