By profession, I’m a technical writer, computer geek, and ex-interior designer. I’m good at two out of three of these things. I had the sense to quit the one I sucked at.

To deal with my mid-life crisis, I also write adventure novels featuring a middle-aged female protagonist, Aydan Kelly. And I kickbox.

This seemed more productive than indulging in more typical mid-life crisis activities like getting a divorce, buying a Harley Crossbones, and cruising across the country picking up men in sleazy bars. Especially since it’s winter most of the months of the year here.

It’s much more comfortable to sit at my computer. And hell, Harleys are expensive. Come to think of it, so are beer and gasoline.

Oh, and I still love my husband. There’s that. I’ll stick with the writing.

Overall score:

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Short Summary of the book:
With the prototype weapon in the hands of Sirius Dynamics, everything appears to be back to normal. Aidan suffers from nightmares following the plane crash and the relationship with John Kane has turned awkward. When their boss Charles Stemp goes missing with the prototype and he is suspected of being a traitor, only Aidan seems to believe in him and tries to find out the truth. Another action-packed book worth reading.
What I liked about the book:
I loved this book as much as I did the first seven. As in the other books there are many twists and turns mixed with humour and I just love the sassy Aidan Kelly.
What I didn’t like about the book:
There is nothing in the book I didn’t like.
My favourite bits in the book:
Too many to count, I loved the book.
My least favourite bits in the book:
There were no least favourite bits. The book makes you want to read on and not stop after the next.
Any further books in the series? Any more planned by this author?
That is the good news, there are 14 more in the series already and I can’t wait for no. 15.
What books could this be compared to and why?

In summary, I would recommend this book for the following readers:

Children No

Henders/spy now pay later

I have written review on all the series. This series is as good as from the first. You will fall in love with the characters . It is pack with good story plots, has actions, humour, how being a spy can have impact on the spies themselves, dealing with stress, anxiety, killings, emotions running high, very hard if you have a family and have to be alert at all times. No room really to have relationship for fear of that person can be asset to the enemy which can compromise the mission.

Great series if you like spicy thrillers. Beware the harsh but realistic language. It fits. I read the books back-to-back. Can't get enough of them.

Spy now, pay later

Another outstanding book with all the extremely outrageous violence and gentle moments and funny witty repartee I have come to enjoy.

As good as ever!

I love these books so much.

This one contained so many new ideas and moves for the characters, it would happily stand alone, but I’m so grateful there are many, many more to read.

This may be completely inappropriate but Diane Henders, I think I love you!! Hahah!
I am so obsessed with the Never Say Spy series that my emotional balance is out of whack. I find myself dreaming about how to find John Kane (or the perfect man, as I would like to think of him). Aydan is really shaping in to a real, true agent getting ops on her own and kicking butt all over Canada. I ended book 8 screaming in joy and happiness at the thought of some sizzling sheets in the near future for Aydan. Wow!! What a lucky woman. The best of friends surround her, life is terrifying, work is never boring and men every which coming after her for a good time.
I cannot wait to start on book 9. It seems the drama and excitement never end. Thank you for writing and making this all possible!!!

Diane Henders is one of the best authors of today. Her amazing series is gripping, thrilling, funny and warm. In spite of the wonderful adventure and terrifying danger, the thing I love best it the great connection among the characters. Spy Now, Pay Later is my favorite of this awesome series, but it may just because I always love the one I am reading. This is definitely a reread book.

This is one of my favorite series. I love how Aydan is an accountant, who is mistaken for a secret agent, who pretends to be a accountant. And somewhere is there is a con artist porn star! Are you following? Diane Henders has created a world full of great characters. A lot of humor and a lot of ass kicking. I can't wait to see what she has in store for Aydan next!

Stemp and Kane are NOT the enemy. What are they trying to protect - more than Aydan knows but her gut is always right. Thank goodness she's got Arnie, Spyder and now Dave to keep her grounded. At what cost to Kane will the next story tell us?

I checked Spy Now, Pay Later out from my local library. Possibly my favorite plot to date, although, once again Henders has focused on the spy drama instead of the techno/net aspects of the story line. Excellent progression of the main plot and I am loving the characters more than ever.

Loved this book

Oh my goodness. This book had you worried for Aydan, watching her become more the spy she is, rooting for Kane and busting your ribs with Aydans form of torture. Score another one for the girls.

This was good although I missed the interaction between Ayden and Kane. It was more spy and less going into the system.
