War of Contractia #3

Peter and the Kuroneko

Rate this book
Please note that this is the THIRD book in the War of Contractia.

Peter must defeat the most devious of foes to protect his friends, but he cannot do so alone. He will need to rely on a small group of comrades and on the advice of an ally with far more experience than he has. His own talent and power will however still prove vital.

Yu Kii, the former miko (shrine maiden) of the Kuroneko has adjusted to her life in Contractia, but those she left behind must continue their duties. Meanwhile Yu Kii and her classmates will go much further afield than just the academy. As she does so you will learn more about both Yu Kii and Contractia itself.

Please note that this series is unsuitable for young children mostly due to violent content and occasional (non explicit) references to matters of a romantic nature. There are also very rare innocent but compromising situations.

I am an independent author in my thirties. I generally write at the same time as cycling... on my exercise bike. I don't recommend writing and cycling on the road though! I write as a hobby in my spare time, though I wrote my latest book (The Consequences of Trolling God) between jobs. It is a magic fantasy comedy with elements of litRPG. The main character is an internet troll who has to face life as a real flesh and blood troll in a world where monsters are hunted.

I am a supporter of the Open Rights Group in the UK, which campaigns against internet censorship and mass surveillance among other digital rights issues. As I am committed to digital rights I believe it would be hypocritical to use DRM so I have no intention of doing so.

Great Series

I was recomended this series by a friend. I wasn't sure at first but once I got a couple of chapters into the first book I really enjoyed it and the rest of the series has been great. I can't wait for book 4. I hope it is out soon!

There are parts that remind me of manga. Peter the boy wind mage at an all girl's school (as a student rather than a teacher though) reminds of Negi from Negima. Especially how he is more grown up than his age in some ways, but completely clueless about other things like romance, and how he has ambitious goals for the future. I hope it goes down the harem route soon. There are certainly enough candidates for Peter's harem! It is funny at times and really entertaining throughout.

Very Enjoyable

It is a bit different to the other books in the series but still very enjoyable. There is less of Peter in this book but it introduces some interesting new characters, builds on some of the existing characters and it explores a lot more of the world/s it is set in. It also has some great absurd moments that really made me laugh.

I look forward to the next book but it isn't in my mind a cliff hanger.
