This is the second book in the Ride series and I enjoyed it very much! Now that I am becoming more familiar with all of the characters in the MC, I have started to have some favourites in the group!
One thing about this series is it has some angst but everything gets cleared up fairly quickly. Another thing that has stopped me from rating this higher is that we only get the heroine’s POV. I have become spoiled with most of my other reads, as the majority include both pov’s! I do prefer that, however, I am still hooked on this series and plan to read all of the books in it! I am super pleased that the books are all out now, so I can power read my way through this series!

I am moving on to Axel and Sophia’s story next! The Ride series is one I recommend to readers who are fans of the MC genre!!🏍

I have several degrees of reading Love.. it's kinda sorta an obsession really or maybe a disorder. I'm not sure but I bet there is a therapy group like 12 steps or something out there or maybe there should be. But then again.. I don't think we'd be able to stop or at least I can't. I simply have this OCD issue with searching high and now for what I call #SafeRead authors for me. I am not as picky as some hard core safety girls. I actually think I'm one of the originals but I'm not the most strict by far
But here goes. If you give me a book where the hero is faithful from first sight, and there isn't any other woman drama that is a book I will most likely love. But if you add into this suspense, romance, some character growth type angst and a sexy heart pounding romance well I'm extremely happy. So far I've read two books by this author and I'm a little nervous only because I've loved them so much that I keep waiting for that shoe to drop. For something to pop up and bother me. Book one had a bit of other woman drama but this I can handle if and only if the hero isn't tempted and doesn't waver. Cole was absolutely perfect for me.

Then this book the hero had a long six month (thankfully off page) disappearing act.. and that usually drives me into book heartache. But it worked because Sal just had to find his way back and he was faithful the whole time. I just am on pins and needles because I really pray Megan stays a safe author for me. I don't care about the past.. I only care about the current story and so far she's giving me exactly what I want.. Moving on with hope and happiness in my OCD Safety reading heart.

100% safe with six month separation, both celibate. No ow.. one uninterested om date.

Good story of two fairly closed off broken people who FINALLY make their way together. It's also a fairly "easy" MC story which I was glad for.

I loved Sal but he pissed me off with how he kept "running" when things got too much. I got why he left in the beginning...totally understood, but I hurt for Kat and he needed to prove himself to her. Kat was awesome. I was glad she didn't make it too easy on Sal. I was afraid she would just jump right back into bed with him but she didn't. They both opened up more and were finally becoming the couple they were meant to be.

This is Sal and Kat’s book and I was totally gripped from start to finish I honestly don’t think that this author could have written their story any better.

Kat was besotted with Sal pretty much immediately but he never let her in keeping her at arm’s length, never one to trust easily the last thing she expected was to fall for the enigmatic and mysterious Sal but they were making it work that is until the day that he just upped and left her. It’s taken her six months to recover from her shattered heart she is trying to move on when Sal suddenly returns. Kat is determined that she and Sal are done, he may be back but she can’t let him back in her heart she is still broken from the last time but when there is a threat on Kat’s life, she trusts Sal to keep her safe. Should Kat let Sal back in to her heart and can they move on from their past?

Sal knew what he had with Kat was special but with the baggage he carried he knew he had to leave and sort out his life, after a six month absence he is back and ready to claim his woman but what he finds on his return shocks him to the core, Kat on a date with another man, not believing that he has lost her Sal is determined to show Kat that they are meant to be and this time he means for keeps. Can Sal let Kat into his heart the way she wants and deserves or will he turn and run again when things get rough?

These two characters both have pasts that make their relationships harder than most but it’s also beautiful the way that they find their way to intimacy and love. Great book. Easily a 5* read.

A softer MC read.

Before reading 'Sal' I decided to skim back over 'Cole' it's been months since I originally read it but once I'd started I ended up reading it again from beginning to end.
'Cole' ended with Sal leaving Kat without explanation 'Sal' opens with Kat alone, Sal's been gone six months and she's struggling, she's no idea if he's coming back or even why he left in the first place. Her best friend Scarlett pushes her into a blind date with a doctor she works with and while Gavin is handsome there's just no spark at all, it looks like Sal was it for her and she's ruined for other men.
Just as suddenly as he left Sal returns and expects to pick up where they left off, Kat is his and he's not giving up.
This is right at the softer end of MC books in fact I'd class it as a romance based around an MC rather than an MC which has a romance within it.
As Sal and Kat work on their relationship we learn more their pasts and meet some of their family which gives us an insight as to why Sal is the way he is.
This is a nice enough read, I liked all the characters and I can't wait for Axel and Sophie's book but if I'm being totally honest and there's no point reviewing otherwise, it was missing something, the crime element was a bit lacking and very similar to Cole's book and I hate to say this but I was a little bored at times and found myself skimming.
Straight onto Axel and Sophie's book now.

Kat Jennings didn't trust easily, she certainly didn't fall in love. Kat fell hook, line, and sinker for her biker Sal. Then he walked out and left her, six months later he came back. Sal knew he needed to heal himself before he could fully commit to Kat.

Sal is determined to gain her trust and love again. Kat can't do this with Sal again, he broke her and she doesn't think she will survive again if he leaves. As their bond is tested Kat realizes how much Sal has changed and she loves him for it.

Fantastic second in series. I wasn't sure about Sal because he had been so closed off in the first book but he totally redeems himself. He is not a man of a lot of words but boy does he make an impact. Had a few unexpected twists, can't wait for the next book.

In Book 1 we learned a bit about Sal and Scar's best friend Kat.
In Book 1, I didn't like Sal too much, he had to much going on and seemed distant toward Kat, however she loved him, and because she is bad ass and I loved her I supported her, however in Book 2 the story goes way deeper. It starts off with Sal walking out leaving Kat, mot knowing if he will return; not telling her where he is going, or if he ever will be back.
Now, 6 months later he is back; and he is ready to win Kat back, however Kat is no push over; she is not the leave and come back type of gal. I enjoyed this one bunches, and loved the bits and pieces we got from Cole and Scarlet; and baby Gracie =)

The second ( and I mean the second) I finished Cole(book one) I tried to find as much information about book two as I could. I put this book on my watch list so that I could know the second it was released. I loved Cole and Scar, but more importantly I loved Megan O'Brien's writing she easily drew me into the world she created and made me fall in love. The second I was able to get this book I snatched it up opened my kindle and dug right in like a starved person.

Kat and Sal haven't had an easy relationship it hasn't really been hard but it also hasn't been what Kat wants. The intimacy is great, the best she has ever had but Sal shuts her out and closes himself off. Being in love with Sal Kat stays hoping that with time they can both learn to open up about themselves and their pasts and move forward. When Sal tell's Kat he is leaving she thinks he is going on a run for the club. So when Sal tells her he is leaving Kat is heartbroken.

Six long months later Kat hasn't moved on, though she has tried the loss of Sal has effected her greatly. With the persistence of Scar Kat agree's to go on a date. Though the man is nice Kat knows she is nowhere near ready to open herself up to anyone. As Kat is dropped off none other than Sal is standing angrily at her door. Shocked and mad Kat shuts her door and shuts out Sal.

But Sal is very persistant and makes it known he won't give up, and that they were never really apart. Soon Kat finds it too hard to deny how she feels for Sal, as they fall back into each other like Sal never left a threat is made on Kats life that scares Sal more than ever. Even though Kat is happier than ever she wants more from Sal and her relationship but more importantly for them to not fall back into the mostly physical relationship.
As Sal sets about to prove he wants more just like Kat the threat becomes more real and more dangerous for not only Kat but the club. As the club sets about to keep everyone safe Sal, Kat, and the club sets about to make sure everyone they has quickly came to love is not only safe but happy.

I really liked this book I blew through this book way too quickly. I love MC books but because I love them so much I tend to be more critical of them and this book did not disappoint. I loved reading about Sal and Kat's relationship, but I wished the reason Sal left would have been more of a flushed out as well as their relationship since I loved them both so much. Sal was a great possessive hero and Kat was no pushover but she was also smart and loving and kind. We get everyone from book one and them some in this book.

We also get a peak into who book three will be about. And I can't wait to read their story. This book was really well written it's one of those books that you get so wrapped up in you don't realize how much you have read or how long. Megan O'Brien writes a great MC book, not as gritty as some but just as good. I can't wait for book three, I will again be watching and waiting and getting the next book as soon as I can.

Good book but I liked the first book, Cole, better. Sal starts out with Sal walking out on the Kat with no explanation. Six months later as Kat is starting to date again, Sal pops back up wanting a second chance. Really demanding a second chance saying she is still his woman. Kat struggles with her feelings for Sal and her hurt from him walking away and closing himself off from her. The story is mostly about these two trying to figure out how to let the other person in and get past their past relatiosnhip and own baggage. There are cameos from Scarlett and Cole from first book as well as the rest of the club. Cannot wait for Axel and Sophia's story.

3.5 *

This was a good book but it didn't hit that MC feel for me. I wasn't too keen on Kat, I just couldn't like her very much, she was okay. I also felt that the drama was too forced, for an MC we didn't get to "see" much of their lives and there where no "hanger-ons" or sweet butts in this one, pity as they make for some good drama. I never understood why Sal had to go away and no explanation came as to why his relationship with his mom was strained.

Overall an okay read, interesting but not a re-read or keeper.

I would recommend reading this series in order as the stories overlap and you would really need to know what happened in the previous book, to understand the relatoionship in this book.

Again another enjoyable book in the series, with likeable characters.

I really (really really!!) liked Sal an Kat and enjoyed their story. Again, as with the first one, it never delves too deep into issues. But another great 4 stars in the series.

Oh Sal!
I knew his and Kat's story would be good, and Megan O'Brien did not disappoint.

It was Hot/Steamy/Alpha Male Biker at its best.

Definitely in my Biker Awesome Shelf.

Hope this is not the end of the series!!

This was an EXCELLENT follow up to book 1 in this series. It could also totally stand alone - although, you'll be missing some great connections between characters and a great book if you skip book 1.

Sal was a MIGHTY Alpha. He was OTT Possessive and totally fun to read. I loved Kat. She held her ground well against the Alpha, but didn't come across as OTT on battling the Alpha. She understood him and didn't make him grovel too much (even though he did a good job) when he came back for her in the beginning (he takes off in book 1).

The sex was exceptionally hot and fun to read. The story line was suspenseful and kept me turning the pages!

I definitely recommend this to anyone that loves MC Romance, an OTT Alpha, hot sex and a fun story line.

I'm still entertained. That's for sure.
Similar characters as the first, but no less colourful!
The steaminess is perfect, not too overdone and I enjoy the over bearing hot blooded tattooed alpha biker.

Danger, devastation, hope and second chances:)

Kat and Sal’s relationship gets off to a shaky start! After six months, Kat walks in to find Sal packing and then telling her that he’s leaving. Kat is devastated as she tries to move forward not knowing if he will come back or not. Six months after he disappears, he suddenly reappears in her life claiming her as his woman, which infuriates Kat especially after he left with not one word about where he was or what he was up to.

I really enjoyed this story as it brings a hint of danger, second chance romance but also hope and emotional devastation that you can feel coming off of Kat while she tells her story!

dnf

I’m so bummed! I loved the first book! And I only read the first book because I wanted to read this book and needed to read in order. Ugh. DNF 39%. There is no grovel. He abandons her with no reason and comes back and she basically jumps back in his arms. Huge betraying body syndrome which I hate. Honestly? I do t even give a sh*t what his reason for leaving was. No interest in finding out because he’s a POS and she’s a weak pathetic h. Now I’m kicking myself for buying the series after I loved the first book.

Long overdue

I was overdue for a good MC romance read and this definitely answered the call. I was afraid at how the prior book concluded that I wasn’t going to like Sal much but I was pleasantly surprised.

Nothing extraordinary but a good book with a good cast of characters that you want to learn more about, which is why I’ll read the next in the series.

Review and rating added:

Sal is the second book in the Ride series by Megan O'Brien. It was well written and entertaining.

Sal and Kat were introduced in the first book of the series, Cal. Cal walked out of Kat's life one day with no promise of returning. Six months later, Sal returned with the intent of claiming Kat forever. In Kat's mind, that ship had sailed and she was moving on without him.

Sal and Kat were both likable characters. Both were gorgeous, resilient, products of unloving families, loyal and complete survivors. Sal was also guarded, over protective and dominant while Kat was snarky and funny.

O'Brien took us through the emotional reunion and Sal's chase while setting the background for the current MC's challenge. Kat's mother's involvement interspersed with the Knights MC business wasn't as plausible with so many years of silence, yet it was action packed and still enjoyable.

O'Brien continued to develop the supporting cast of characters for both past and future books, increasing depth and dimension to the storyline. Additionally, Axel and Sophie's involvement helped set the stage and create interest for the next book in the series, Axel.

It was amazing journey to watch how Sal little by little lowered his walls for Kat. Actually it was beautiful to watch how both of them fighted their own demons, so theirs "something special" could blossom.
Kat was facinating. She was not weak or soft. Despite her past she was a fighter. Kat really fit very well with Sal. She understood his world. Understood Knights life, theyr's own way of giving justice if someone try to hurt club or what bellonged to them. Like said Kat fit in MCs life. A perfect match for Sal.
And Sal...What can I say? He is hot hardcore alpha biker with hidden soft spot, which he started to show to Kat slowly but so preciously. I gonna to repeat myself it was beautiful to read how Sal layer after layer those walls crumbled. The Ride series are "softer" than MC books by other authors. But that don't mean that these series are any less wonderful writen. I really enjoyed reading Sal's story. And now can't wait for next one. I really get curious about how Axel's & Sophie's story gonna unfold.
