Sigh

Rate this book
Fiamma shares in her memoir (Sigh) a detailed account of the abuse she suffered during her upbringing in a Narcissistic family. She was raised to believe she was not enough and never will be, that her feelings, needs and wants did not count. Having been parentified by her Narcissistic Mother, she had to learn to act responsibly, be composed and always take care of everybody else before she even dared to think of herself. She was repeatedly abused by her Narcissistic Grandmother and Mother, her father and her uncle. This account of the first 25 years of her life explores the events that shaped her to the person she is today.
This is not a self-help book although Fiamma does share what worked and what didn't on the difficult road to recovery. The purpose behind writing this book and her hope is that by sharing her story and how she escaped the painful claws of her Narcissistic family, she will help others who are as unfortunate to share her experiences to seek help and do the same.

The strength of that book is its ability to demonstrate the pain and struggle of being raised by a narcissistic mother. The writer masterfully captures the quest of being set free and live fully free from a dysfunctional family environment.
A book that definitely lives you mentally richer.
