Sad to say this, but honestly didn't really see the point of this volume. Apparently it's about their marriage, but like 3 of the short stories had jealousy as a main theme.

✨Grouped review for all volumes✨

As far as BL manga goes this has some of the worst common tropes of it up to and including pedophilia.

We deserve better LGBT representation in manga

This volume takes place during their marriage but it feels pretty redundant and doesn't take away from the major issues of the rest of the series

Home = Futari Gurashi/Living Together?

This was ふたりぐらし (living together) while it was being serialised, but they decided to re-title it as home for the tankoubon. I think this was the right call because not only do they start living together only at the final chapter, but also because this is about the other people that at some point formed a part of their homes.

It's more obvious in chapters like 'green tea', where Sajou comes back home and has his usual awkward and ends up in an argument conversation with his father. It sounds like they've always had a bit of tense relationship even before the marriage thing, but I'm glad to see that neither father nor son has completely cut ties with each other.

There’s also 'kakipi' (Kaki no Tane, which is a snack; all the titles are snacks or drinks or uh, consumables 😂) which I think is one of my favourites in this volume and is a flashback about Kusakabe's relationship with his own father.

They're both about Sajou's and Kusakabe's families and the homes they're leaving behind.

But there's also that story with Miyamura... Which made me a bit sad 🥲 but is also about the home and friends that Sajou made in Kyoto.

The final bit where they actually start unpacking is so cute 🥹💕 I hope we get to see them again sometime in the future!! (I have not read any of the chapters of the new issue with Sajou's dad yet.)

This did not feel like a continuation from the last volume as much as a collection of vignettes following our main characters. The theme of home does permeate through the entire volume, but it is not like a single plot line that the reader is following.

The way home is shown is interesting as it kind of presents family and found family and how you can find home in both. There is also a conversation about fathers that was really interesting, but felt like it belonged to a different story. I did skim one chapter, but it is about the side characters I don't like and still find creepy.

I think my favorite image that stuck with me through the stories and the theme of home was Rihito looking up at the ceiling. The way Hikaru described the sense "It's not like the classroom when you're lying down." The ceiling kind of connects the two in a way. Every time they stare at the ceiling they are together, maybe they are back in the classroom, or in their new home, but they are together in some way. It speaks to the idea of home being where ever you want it to be. I think home is both when they are together as well as their shared time in the classroom. Just something to think about.

While I don't usually rate single issues of manga, just story arcs or the final volume, as this was more a collection of vignettes I felt it was warranted.

Awww, it’s all wrapped up. Yuri on Ice and Classmates got me into the BL/Danmei rabbit hole. I just gobble these books up. I love reading but I don’t usually devour books.

Such a great series. Highly recommend it. I bought a French copy and used Google Translate to read this one since who knows when it’ll be available in English. I’m also actually trying to learn French. So win-win.

I’m glad I bought this copy. I’m usually not a re-reader but I don’t mind re-visiting these characters. I need some sweet love in my life and fictional love is just fine.

I absolutely adore classmates. From the art to the relationship between Kusakabe and Sajo to them as individual characters. I was so excited to jump into this world again. The only downfall? Having to see disgusting Manabu again and his repulsive relationship with Sora. The only place I wanted to see Manabu in is a cell for being a pedophile. As soon as I saw him my disgust was on full display. I am begging if this series does continue at some point please let me just enjoy the main characters and their bond without that man.

absolutely beautiful. the art is impecable, and seeing them grow together, starting to move together, a creating their own little world is deeply romantic to me.

them sleeping in their pillow fortress, watching the ceiling. it really is those tiny things what makes life amazing.

i loved this manga, and i wish to read more about these two building a life together.

They will forever be one of my favorite couples of all time, and this one of my favorite romance stories. Sajou and Kusakabe never fail to make me feel soft and warm, like who wouldn't want to love and be loved like that?

No sé. Será cosa mía.

If there is ever another addition to this series, I will stop everything and read it immediately. I love the art style and the original couple’s story is phenomenal! Agh, this was such a good series that it makes me mad I didn’t read it sooner!
