The book you've been waiting for from New York Times bestselling author Karen Kingsbury ... Leaving is the first volume in a new series that features members of the popular Baxter family and finally completes the Bailey Flanigan/Cody Coleman story.
Karen Kingsbury, #1 New York Times bestselling novelist, is America’s favorite inspirational storyteller, with more than twenty-five million copies of her award-winning books in print. Her last dozen titles have topped bestseller lists and many of her novels are under development with Hallmark Films and as major motion pictures. Her Baxter Family books are being developed into a TV series slated for major network viewing sometime in the next year. Karen is also an adjunct professor of writing at Liberty University. In 2001 she and her husband, Don, adopted three boys from Haiti, doubling their family in a matter of months. Today the couple has joined the ranks of empty nesters, living in Tennessee near five of their adult children.
After reading the Above the Line series, I had to find out what happened to Bailey and Cody. Once I started this series, I couldn't stop until I finished. Great stories that grab your interest from the beginning and keep your interest until the end.
I read the whole series in the last week, and though it contains a sweet (and sappy) love story, it deals with so much more than that. Karen Kingsbury can be a little too cheesy for my taste, but this series was real and raw and dealt with real life issues and how to trust God. She also did a wonderful job at writing about the difficulties and reward of living out your faith in the real world; specifically Hollywood and Broadway… which isn’t the real word for most people I suppose… but it’s a “secular marketplace” in Christianese. The main characters led several of their coworkers to Christ through living holy and sharing their faith in different ways. It’s pretty lit sauce
Anyway, I really liked this series and the writing was sometimes cheesy and sappy but also really beautiful and honoring to Jesus. I always love a good Christian fiction book that deals with idolizing romantic relationships and how Jesus is truly the only One who can fill that hole in our hearts. Only after we let Him fill our heart can we truly be ready or able to love another person wholly.
I love Karen Kingsbury books because they are such good Christian based reading. And who doesnt love the Flanigan family and whether Bailey and Cody will get married! It's a good read for teens and for adults alike.
I love Karen Kingsbury books and have read many of her series. To find a free series on Amazon Kindle is such a treat! Karen's books are such good Christian based reading. And who doesn't love the Flanigan family and want to know if Bailey and Cody are going to get married?
The last 4 books in the Baxter Family saga. What I liked was the faith of the characters and how they look to God to guide their life. What I didn't like; it seemed to move slow, story could have been tightened and reduce the story down by a book or two. Seemed like part of the story line was a retelling of an earlier story line. I almost gave up reading before finishing, something I rarely do. I also didn't like how many times a character's full name is written over and over. We already know he is Cody Coleman so just Cody would work just fine.
This set of books looks at different people, not just the Baxters. It focuses mainly on Bailey Flannigan and her family and life. You get Cody Coleman, Bailey’s first boyfriend, and Brandon Paul, who loves Bailey with everything in him! Live the life and love with Bailey, with laughter and crying. I’ve never cried so much reading a book, both with grief and gladness, as I did in these, even talking to the people, lol! I would recommend reading these books, they are so worth it! They have talking to God, reading His word, and all that makes Karen Kingsbury books so wonderful!
Reading Karen Kingsbury's books make me a better person. This series had twists and turns that I wasn't expecting. I enjoyed the relationship between Bailey and her mother Jenny. Through all the unknown times, Bailey clung to her faith and never doubted God's plan for her life. Through this life-changing fiction, I'm learning to be a better wife, mother and daughter. Very difficult to put down!
One of the best books I've ever read! I love that it has all 4 books in one. Lots of love, laughter and tears! I highly recommend this book and any book written by Karen Kingsbury -- she's the best!!!
It was nice to have the books all together. This series featuring Bailey was fun. I enjoyed the insights into backstage Broadway and the movie industry. Cody’s coaching ideas were enlightening too. I definitely recommend it.
This is a brilliant series which shows how Gods way works in everything, acting, sports, relationships and love. That by turning to him I. The good times as well as the bad times, life works out if it is his plan. This was hard to put down.
Read all 4 and loved the whole series. They are easy and light reads and I love the mix between real life challenges, family relationships, and dating relationships. Love the Christian perspective in all her books.
Karen touched every part of my soul with deep abiding truths and everlasting hope! I will be reading more from this author. Suitable for young adults and older. God is honored on every page.
These books were amazing. I wish Bailey had been a bit stronger in her belief of what God for her. Too much questioning of what God had for her in Brandon. Other than that I loved the books and love Karen Kinsgbury books. I will definitely be reading more.
Bailey and Cody - will they or won’t they. That’s basically what most of this series is. I did enjoy seeing Bailey go off to college and discover more of who she was. I don’t know if this is my favorite Baxter Family series, but it’s definitely up there.
I love the Baxters and Bailey and Brandon. Karen Kingsbury is a master story teller you feelbad if you know each character and are true friends. Heartwarming.
Loved this book. I think Karen Kingsbury is my favourite Author. This book spoke to me in so many ways. About listening to God and waiting on HIS timing. Knowing that He knows what's best for us. Loved this series.
