Jess knew her life would never move forward if she remained a part of Gregory’s pack. Some Alpha’s just don’t know how to take care of their wolves. She had managed Gregory’s bar for years but she knew he would never sell it to her.

After one giant mistake, he went from bad to worse. As a psychic, she knew it was a downward spiral.

Taking her future in her own hands, she contacts the Alpha in Edenton. He is happy to sell the empty bar no one has the time, nor desire to renovate, much less run.

Their attraction is unexpected and the last thing either want, but they find the only thing they need in each other.

There is just one problem. Slater’s second in command is plotting against him. Liam will use anything to take over as Alpha.

Plenty of werewolves, an old vampire flame, plus a paranoid second, and don’t forget the psychic with a whole lot of attitude.

New Beginnings is another excellent read in the ‘Others of Edenton’ series, this time it’s a prequel and we get to know some of the characters we were introduced to in ‘In too Deep’ a little bit better – namely our wolf pack Alpha Slater & Fallons BFF and psychic friend Jess. We already know from ‘In too Deep’ that Slater & Jess are mated & devoted to each other and this is their story….
Jess is a character more than capable of holding the lead reins and you can totally see how Fallon & her are friends because she’s fierce, she’s independent, she’s feisty, she’s not afraid to voice her opinion and doesn’t take any crap from anyone regardless of the outcome. I like this in a character and although she is similar in a few ways to Fallon, there is a marked difference too. Slater is HOT, I like my wolves dominant & sexy without the bossy and Slater fits the bill perfectly, even giving us a peek at his vulnerable side so, in fact he is ideal for Jess – if they could get past their issues. I loved their chemistry, I loved the little spats they had, I loved the sexy times, I loved it all, especially the fact that even though they ‘mated’, it wasn’t going to come easy to the pair of them and I have a feeling they will always clash…. But in a good way.
The storyline was great, from the way Jess left her old home right up until the ending – I was hooked and I really enjoyed the focus being on the wolf pack, giving us an insight into the inner workings & hierarchy. I though the danger/ threat of the book was well done & was really fitting with the overall feel of the book especially as it was coming from within and not an outside source which also gave it a creepier feel. I really liked Jess’s ability and how her visions played into the plot, but was left thinking that they could also be giving us insight to more books?? Let’s hope so because again, I am left wanting more. What I most liked though, was the relationship between Slater & Jess, it was bumpy, they were stubborn but again, they were HOT and I’m really liking the authors thinking when she created this world & its inhabitants, I wouldn’t mind moving to Edenton and snagging myself some hotness. 4.5*s

A very well deserved five stars for this full length prequel to In Too Deep.

I won’t lie to you this book just reinforced my love of Brody. Yes I know this book is about Jess and Slater who were of course great characters so I will stop my Brody lovin’ and talk a little about our main characters.

I will admit that at times I wanted to slap Jess’ she was a bit bitchier then I had expected but I at the same she had me laughing and loving her feisty attitude.
Slater was the Alpha I expected and this sexy character did not disappoint. I have so many things to say about this book but if I get started I will definitely start pouring out all kinds of spoilers. So instead of that I figured I’d share one of my face excerpts from the book.

“Jess.” He exhaled, smiling slightly. “You walked into my life and took over every thought, every dream, every desire. What the hell else can I say? I want you, all of you. I want to know all of your secrets, your dreams, you’re hopes, and make them all come true.”
That wasn’t what she expected. “What?” Jess whispered.
He closed the distance and tipped her head back to peer into her soul. “Talk to me, Jess. Is it possible you haven’t given yourself the chance to see more because you’re terrified?”
“Maybe,” she breathed the word.

First things first, I have one question is it November yet? I cannot get enough of Brandy Rivers!! I am ready for book 3 like now!!

This prequel was amazing! It's everything I loved about In 2 Deep, it's sexy, steamy, action packed and did I mention SEXY!!!

Jess has gotten herself into quite a mess with her former alpha so she decides to move for a brand new start. The wolf pack in Edenton welcomes with open arms. From the start, against her better judgement she is drawn to her new pack alpha Slater who is suffering from wounds of his own from the past! Slater swore off wolves and humans after the death of his first mate at least a century ago but when Jess comes to town all his restraint slowly dissipates. When they finally give into their desires the sparks fly and things get steamy quick! Together they complete each other, and are meant to be together.

This story was amazing! I loved getting to know the background characters from In 2 Deep, more thoroughly, and bringing their lives into focus!

Brandy L. Rivers has definitely made it onto my favorite authors list! I am impatiently anticipating the next installment in this series! I cannot get enough of this author's work! You can bet I will be reading this series to the very end!

Favorite Line “We’ll get used to running together. I can adjust my speed to make it easier for you to keep up.”
“Oh, I’ll just get used to running faster. Don’t slow down on my behalf.”
“How about I slow down until you catch up?”

Man, the others of Edenton are on fire!
After devouring In Too Deep, I was so excited to be able to hear Jess and Slaters story!! Jess is a spitfire of a wolf who gets visions of the future and Slater is a OMG sexy I wanna rub oil all over Alpha of the Edenton pack!
After a druken mistake with Jess's last alpha she ends up in Edengton.
Slater has no clue what to do with this hot wolf! All this sexiness and of course some danger! A paranoid second that has voices in his mixed in and you have New Beginnings!! It was fantastic!! This author has proven to be amazing again!!

I was given this book by author in exchange for honest review

I was lucky enough to not only be a BETA reader but to also receive an ARC for New Beginnings. Brandy L. Rivers can write. She has the ability to suck me into her books from the very first line. Filled with humor, love, relationships, paranormal shenanigans and don’t forget the levels of steam that are off the charts. I LOVED New Beginnings.

Jess was compulsively likeable in the first book, In Too Deep, and I was very curious about how she got to Edenton and found her way to Slater, so when I found out that this was their story, I couldn’t wait to read it.

Jess is a werewolf psychic bartender/bar owner. Right there she reaches whole new levels of awesome. Add in the fact that she’s just kinda freaking awesome, her personality, her abilities, her relationships. She’s just pretty great and has to be one of my favorite heroines, Brandy sure knows how to write female leads.

I loved Jess’ relationship with her sister and her almost instant friendship with Brody. The back and forth between her and Slater was great, how much they both fight their attraction to each other and ultimately where they end up.

Some of my favorite parts of the book where when Jess was having a vision. I especially loved a particular vision of her and Slater, not telling which one ;)

Slater is yum. An alpha male werewolf, he is everything you look for in that type of character but he’s also more. There is a goodness and a gentleness to him that I really liked, especially when it comes to how he is with Jess. After suffering some tragedy in his past, I am glad that Jess came to town and shook him up.

I couldn’t help but empathize for the big bad this time around. He was crazy, doing horrible things and driven to become the next Alpha no matter the cost but Liam was a sad character that I just never hated.

Most of the characters from book 1 are back for this round too and let me tell you, AH!! Brody and Fallon – made me so freaking excited knowing what was coming for them and I love Brody even more. Hayden is around as well, and I am totally a Hayden shipper, I can’t wait for where he is headed and who he is headed there with, squee!!! When I read that little tid-bit, I was literally screaming!! Can. Not. Wait. To be honest I am just looking forward to anything that Brandy writes, I can’t wait to see where she takes all of these characters and what she is going to do next.

Also, the epilogue is AWESOME!! One of my favorite epilogues, ever – seriously.

Overall, I give this awesome story FIVE stars, I wish I could give it more. If you love the paranormal romance genre or if you are just looking for a really good book then definitely grab New Beginnings. It’s pretty fantastic.

I am addicted to this series! Totally, completely and irrevocably HOOKED. I’m also in love with the characters and the general story they all create. Brandy L Rivers is an author you simply cannot miss!

While this is book #.5 in the series, I started with In Too Deep which is book #1 and then jumped to book #5, Mending Scars. This back-and-forth thing did NOT affect my connection to the books….at all. However, I’ve now gone back to the beginning and am now reading/listening to them in order, and I must say, my connection is even stronger.

I had the honor of listening to the Audible version of New Beginnings and let me just say – WOW! The narrator did a superb job with all the voices and emotions! The story was literally brought to life and I loved every minute of it. I did not want to stop listening to it! I took my iPad and headphones everywhere and listened to the book every chance I got! AMAZING. Unputdownable!

Now, about this amazing story…

The best thing Jess ever did was moving to Edenton and getting a fresh, new start away from her alpha. She had made the drunken mistake of sleeping with him and his cockiness only got worse. He never really valued her to begin with, he only wanted to own her. Edenton’s alpha, Slater, was a whole different story. While he wasn’t looking to start anything with any of the wolves in his pack, he couldn’t help but feel a very strong connection to Jess from the very beginning.

Despite them both fighting their very strong urges, they were meant to be together…one way or another. Now, you must understand, Jess was also a physic, so while she ‘saw’ Slater in her future, she wasn’t entirely aware of everything that was about to happen. And let me tell you – New Beginnings was action-packed with a perfect balance of drama and hotness! Every scene kept me fully invested, wanting more! And being able to hear the story, made it even more real.

This book, this entire series, is a MUST READ. Top recommendation to any romance reader – whether or not you read Paranormal, you need to check these gems out! FIVE STARS!

I started reading New Beginnings Monday night thinking oh I'll read a few chapters and finish it Tuesday. Yeah, I finished it Tuesday alright... 3:30 Tuesday morning! I could NOT put the book down.

This book explains how Jess ended up in Edenton. In the first book, In Too Deep, we know that Jess and Slater are a mated couple and are happy, but this is their story. I fell in love more with Jess in this book. Jess, who is a werewolf and clairvoyant, doesn't let anyone push her around. Although it might seem that she is running away from Gregory, she isn't really. A girl can only take so much shit from a guy. Gregory is the alpha of her current pack. He is a major sleezoid and took advantage of Jess. He also will not sell his bar to her which she pretty much runs. After her mistake, she has had enough. She talks to Gabriel, who is her best friend's boss about finding a new pack. He gave her Slater's number to call...

This is one call that changes everything. Jess finally calls Slater and he is with a vampire named Victoria. After his phone call with Jess, Slater never touches Victoria again. Jess completely turns his world upside down and he doesn't realize it. He doesn't date and he especially doesn't mess around with anyone in his pack. Jess makes him want to break all of his rules.

Jess makes it to Edenton, and she finds out that house she is renting is Slater's and he lives next door. She buys the bar from Slater and it is need of some work. She has her work cut for her especially when it comes to Liam. He can't take a hint. He is Slater's second. He is losing his mind. He wants to take out Brody because he thinks that Brody is trying to take his position then turns on Jess. Liam causes a lot of drama. Even some I didn't see coming.

I love how the pack comes together to protect Jess. They don't know her but yet they protect her like she has been one of their own forever. There is a lot of drama. If you've read In Too Deep then you know a little bit about the people in this book, but it's not too much to give it away.

The romance between Jess and Slater is smoking hot! I don't know how they didn't burn down the house... Yumminess between the sheets. I love the way Slater doesn't push Jess. He is just an amazing man.

5 out of 5 stars I absolutely love learning about the characters and their passion they have for each other. I can't wait to read more about the Others in Edenton.

*I received this book in exchange for an honest review. These are my thoughts and my words.

If you read my review to In Too Deep, you know that I loved loved loved that book! If you haven't yet read it you can see my review here: http://bbeautyandbooks.blogspot.com/2.... Like my last review I should state that I got this ARC in exchange for a honest review.

Now let me say, I loved this book actually a bit more! I fell in love with the world that Brandy wrote about in the first book, and like I do with most sophomore attempts, I get a bit nervous for authors. Because let's be honest, if you hit it out of the park with book one, you usually disappoint with book 2 and 3. Look at all the recent series books that by book 3 we no longer care about. If anything, I care more now about the characters than I did in the first one.

This book takes us through Jess' journey. Jess is similar to Fallon (Heroine in the first book) in that she is strong and there is a no bullshit policy with her. I think Jess is awesome! Jess can see the future and like most who have this gift, she kind of treats it like a curse. You can't touch her when you first meet her, she isn't big on telling people what she sees, and even her bestie has been known to shut her and her visions out when they don't tell her what she wants to hear.

Slater is so sexy. He is the Alpha of the new pack that Jess joins and he gives her a new home when she makes the huge mistake of sleeping with an idiot who is kind of disgusting (because what girl hasn't?). Turns out the disgusting idiot is her current Alpha...ooops....=) Not only does Slater let her come move into his pack, he sells her the bar that has been just collecting dust.

These two meet and of course with Slater being a uber sexy Alpha and Jess just being uber sexy, things start to get hot and kind of tense. Slater has been having disturbing dreams and Jess is seeing a lot of interesting and sometimes disturbing visions. Needless to say, it is a pretty awesome joining of forces. I won't go into too much detail (because that would take the fun out of reading the book!), but I will say that it is a story that keeps you engaged!

Just being in this world again was a blast! And I have to be honest when I say this, it is so good I give it 5 lipsticks! Seriously 5!

Brandy is a rock star!

Jess is a strong alpha female who has made a vow not to sleep with her current alpha. After a night of having her best friend Fallon shoving moonshine down her throat, she wakes to find herself with just the man she despises. She should have known better after the vision. You see, Jess is a psychic. She gets her visions through touch, once she opens the gateway, there is no closing it.
She makes the decision after realizing that this scumbag is not going to stop pursuing her that it is time that she leaves her current pack and heads for a new one.
She calls pack leader Slater and asks to join. All she wants is to get a fresh start and own her own bar. It just so happens that Slater has one for sale. Slater has vowed that he would never sleep with a wolf again. Slater's second in command is jealous that Slater appointed Brody as an enforcer when he had not even been a wolf for 24 hours.

Brandy has done an amazing job of writing this prequel and staying to the root of her original story In Too Deep. There is lust, love, betrayal and even a Vamp is thrown in for fun. When Jess moves to town she does her best to avoid touching new members and becomes a target of the women as enemies and the men as suitors. Jess does not have time for the B.S. Then she has a vision of her lying on the floor dying. The problem with Jess's visions is that they always come true...or do they? You will just have to read this amazing 5 star book to find out. I cannot wait to see what Brandy writes next. I am secretly hoping for a love story for Haden or for our illustrious healer. Bring it on Brandy, I cannot wait.

Great start to the Others of Edenton! I really enjoyed reading the start of this series. After reading In Too Deep (Others of Edenton #1) a couple months ago, it was interesting to see how the relationship between Slater and Jess developed. Even though you knew they were going to survive and make it - you were always looking for when the trouble would come! And now a little about the story...

Jess is a very strong woman, wolf and also happens to be a psychic. She has trouble with relationships because she always know what is going to go wrong before it does. Like in her current pack, she knew she was going to sleep with the scumbag alpha - but she still couldn't prevent it. After getting really drunk one night she wakes up in Gregory's bed. She can't stand Gregory and knows his attention will only get worse, so relying on an old friend she moves to a new pack. She has made one promise to herself - no more Alphas! So of course Slater, her new Alpha, has to be drop dead gorgeous and everything anyone would want in a man. Then her visions start with hot sex and Slater crying over her. Will she let her visions come true? She is resisting Slater, but also worried about him crying over her. She knows something bad is going to happen and she won't be able to prevent it. Give this book a try to see what happens!

Favorite passage: When she first saw the three ginormous men in her yard, she had been nervous. She expected Slater, but not the other two. Talk about your daily does of eye-candy.

I wouldn't mind a sexy alpha who only wanted an equal not someone to submit. Slater is everything Jess thought never could exist in an Alpha. After her drunken mistake with slipping up and having done things she tried to avoid, her physic abilities have shown her what her future would be like. She had to get out of town to pursue her dreams without restrictions.
Slater, the alpha of Edenton, has a troubled past. The loss of his mate and son hasn't been easy on him, even though it happened over a century ago. He has a rule of not dating wolves in his pack, a rule he might break for Jess. But he has trouble in his pack. His second is going a little insane, with listening to the voices in his head. And a crazed ex lover attempts to help, only to end up harming.
Add in a the start of the next book, staring tall, dark, and scary, Hayden. With Amethyst, full of life and troubles in her past. Wanting to start a new life with her friends who are like her family. Seriously cannot wait til November for the third book!!!! Brandy you have me hook line and sinker!!! Lol!!

I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review. I've got to say, I thought that since I knew the ending to this story that it just wouldn't be as good. I was wrong. Happily wrong. I also thought it was great that Jess was an independent woman, and didn't like being ordered around. I love strong-willed women, they are tough. Finding out what Slater had been through before he met Jess is heart-breaking, but also reveals why he fought to stay away. I loved reading this story since it tells us more of the back story to several important characters, which we knew from Ms. Rivers first book, In Too Deep. Ms. Rivers writing is fantastic as usual. I can't wait to read more of this series, find out more about the people in Edenton. That's a place I wouldn't mind living. I can't wait to see what else Ms. Rivers has in store for us, I really love her writing style, it pulls you into another world.

This was a very poorly written book. Our main character is a Mary Sue with a bad attitude. She's irrational and argues that Slater is trying to control her when he's just pointing out the obvious way to keep her alive. it almost as if she has the mind of a petulant child when they aren't having sex.

Characters are introduced with little or no background provided. Utter strangers spill their dearest secrets to her within moments of meeting her. Ultimately this book failed on its pacing and the fact that our Mary Sue seemed to have at least 3 distinct personalities.

I'd like to think that her writing will improve as she continues and I wish her the best but this book and the series accompanying it are just not for me.

Love a strong woman character

Jess rules. Strong without being mean about it, she cares deeply for her friends and family. Turned 14 years ago in order to save her life, she worked hard to make anew life for herself and her sister. But when Herbert Alpha becomes too much, she strikes out for new territory and a
new life. Great pacing, the Alpha hero was NOT a jerk (will wonders never cease - I actually both liked and admired him) and the secondary characters were well rounded.

Several editorial issues, but other than that a real winner.

I’ve had this book in my queue for weeks but never got the chance to read it up until this weekend. If you are a blogger you know how busy things could get – tours, formatting and reformatting posts, deadlines, over bookings etc. I just couldn’t find the right time. But let me tell you after reading New Beginnings, despite all my time constraints I just had to put everything on hold and reread In Too Deep again.

I enjoyed this story just as much as I enjoyed the first (read my review HERE ). What I love about these books are the kick ass female leads. Jess doesn’t have the physical prowess that Fallon had but in my opinion that gift that she has out rules all the others. Jess is psychic. It takes just one touch and she can see a person’s future. While some would harness this power differently she keeps hers well hidden and controlled. She never flaunted it or even thought of using it for her own personal gain.

I was very impressed with her character. She’s very strong-willed and opinionated. Sassy. She didn’t take shit from her alpha Gregory and the moment he even tries to exert control she was out of there. While most women would love a man taking care of them, she was independent and wanted to succeed on her own terms. Hence leaving San Francisco and landing in Edenton. Immediately she wanted to get her new life started.

She was determined to make it on her own but with the looming power play that was happening around her she was offered protection while she got her business off the ground. She was never looking for a relationship. Slater wasn’t looking for one either, especially with one of the other wolves. He mated once and thought he would never again. No one ever came close up until he met Jess.

I found Slater admirable. He governed his pack differently than Gregory, earning much more respect from those that he lead. He never exuded his power over them rather he sat his enforcers down to talk things out when issues arise. Of course in the beginning of Jess and his relationship he tested his boundaries of control. Jess being Jess, she wasn’t having any of that. He was agreeable after they talked things through. Loved that even being an alpha he wasn’t looking for a submissive rather he was looking for a partner. They were a perfect fit. In and out of the bedroom ( or by the lake, in the shower etc. – you get my point! ).

I loved this story just as much as I loved In Too Deep. Don’t ask me which I enjoyed more though because that would be a tough decision. I thought the story pacing was just right. We got more details about the pack hierarchy without it getting too overwhelmed with the details. The chemistry between the two main characters was fantastic . The tension was spot on. Just like book 1, it had the perfect balance between passion and suspense.

If you are into paranormal romance then I highly recommend this series.

5 out of 5 Stars

Description ~

This is the second book released in the Others of Edenton series but it's actually a Prequel to the series. In this book we get to see the relationship develop between Jess and Slater, and it's not a book to miss!

I really enjoyed the interaction with Jess and Fallon in the first book, so was looking forward to this once I knew it was releasing. Jess definitely didn't disappoint in this story either. She is fiesty, fiery, super independent, and doesn't take crap off of anyone. Slater is totally the perfect Alpha. He's strong, but not an overbearing control freak, and holy hotness the man is about as sweet as he was sexy.

I loved seeing Jess with Brody, and of course her relationship with Slater and even the other pack members. The 'mystery' part of the story was well incorporated and while we knew it was a threat from within from Jess's visions and foreshadowing, the twist at the end was unexpected but good!

Again, this book like the first was well-written, the characters were fantastic, and the world building is at a perfect pace. I recommend this series to anyone that loves their shifters and for fans of Carrie Ann Ryan's Redwood Pack, Lauren Dane's Cascadia Wolves, and Vivian Arend's Granite Lake Wolves. ~Reviewed by Chris

New Beginning’s leading role’s Jess and Slater will make you laugh and fall in love with their love. Both are stubborn and fight their feelings, but realized quickly that they couldn’t run from fate.

Jess is a woman with a snarky attitude, but really has a heart of gold. All she wants to do is run a bar and live a calm life.

Slater is all male, an Alpha one at that, and of course like any normal man, sticks his foot in his mouth, on more than one occasion. He finds a way to dig himself out of the hole and win Jess over.

Jess moves to Edenton to get away from her former Alpha who decides that after one night, and one very big mistake she should be his. That doesn’t fly with Jess so she runs away from him and into the arms of her new Alpha, though something she never intended to do.

Trouble is brewing in Edenton, and Jess lands right in the middle of the mess. She has a vision of herself, but knows she can’t escape it and goes on with her plans to open the bar.

I really don’t want to add too many details from the book because I’ll end up giving too much away. If you’ve read In Too Deep you know that Jess is a wolf and has visions. This is her story and is the prequel to Fallon’s story. I rate this book five stars and would recommend it to anyone who loves paranormal romance. Heck, if you just generally like romance this is the book for you. It’s fast paced and will keep you on your toes. Brandy out did herself once again.

I loved Slater even before meeting Jess he could feel something there for her with just hearing her voice on the phone, "one, he never disrespected women, but Gregory was notorious for treating women like second class citizens. Two, the thought of this unknown woman with Gregory did not sit well with him at all." You know Jess has him all in a frenzy, "not like that." He scratched his beard while trying to figure out how to dig his way out of that hole. "I like to get to know my wolves. I don't date them. I just thought we both have to eat, and we are heading in the same direction." Jess is changing our alpha and I love it when a female can do that, "I could easily forget what I swore off all those years ago, for you." He squeezed his eyes shut and turned away. "Eff, I didn't mean to say that out loud." Jess is bossy in the bedroom got to love a woman who knows what she wants, "next time. now shut the hell up and eff me like you mean it." Slater is a protective sort, "yes, I'm her new Alpha. You'll be challenging me if you're stupid enough to come all the way up here with that bulls*** claim. So you best remember that." I'm telling you what these are the two horniest wolves I have met I blame it on Slater, "oh for the love of God, Slater." She side eyed him. "Stop watching me like you want to bend me over the nearest surface and take me all over again. We did that ten minutes ago."

* An ARC was provided by the author for an honest review. *

I was a little apprehensive going into this book since it was a prequel because after reading In Too Deep I already know who Jess was with etc. I was worried this would be a little pointless. But boy, was I wrong? If you loved Fallon in In Too Deep you need to read this because Jess will take over the number one woman spot. She is brilliant, she doesn't let anyone give her shit. Slater, wow. I really didn't think anyone could sweep my off my feet more than Brody already had but the minute he said he didn't sleep with his wolves, I knew he was a keeper. Therefore he won my heart. Sorry Brody.
Seeing how Jess left her previous pack and why was something I previously hadn't cared about. I loved Fallon and didn't think I could care about other characters. Within the first couple of lines i was proven wrong. Once I started I couldn't stop. I was pleasantly surprised to find a sneak peek at the next book which is Amethyst's story Shadow of the Past which will hopefully be out later in the year.. You won't believe how much happy dancing around the lounge room that bit of news made me do. :)

What can I say!!!! Wow, amazing, you got to read this book!!! It's bloody fantastic!!
We start off with Jess, wolf shifter HATES her Alpha, bad ass attitude, no messing straight to the point no guy is going to walk over me!! Loved her, she's so don't move out the way, I'm just going to knock your ass down kind of girl, plus she's physic which gives her the upper hand.
Now I'm not going to give away to many details you need to read for your self to find out, did I mention YOU GOT TO READ THIS!!!! Can't say that enough!!
While she moves away from one part of her life a new door opens, yes!! In walks Slater hot Alpha wolf, he doesn't do relationships, but can't keep his eyes off Jess. Well I'm stopping right there or I'm Will go into to much detail, this book has it all
love/hate relationships,
Undulate passion,
Best friends who don't listen,
Delusional wolves,
Heart stopping moments that you don't know what way it's going to go. (Till You Read On)

I was given this book by the author for a honest review.
I absolutely loved this book. The characters are very real and the story flows perfectly. I was worried I wouldn't like it as much as In Too Deep because I loved Fallon and Brody. I some how got the misconception that Jess was a "soft" women and this book blew that out of the water. One of my favorite Jess quotes is "Stop looking at me like I'm fragile. I'm little, I'm not breakable." The way Jess and Slater fight fate in this book is epic. Knowing that they end up together doesn't hinder the excitement of their story one bit. I already had a love of all the characters and this book just gave me more reason to love them all. You get to see deeper into some of the characters. You also get little bits and pieces of things that may happen in future books, one can hope. There are a couple surprises that play into the story here and there too. The way the author writes you are right in the story as part of the pack. I am very excited to see whose story is next and where it all goes from here!

New Beginnings is the prequel to In Too Deep. Jess is the feisty best friend to Fallon, which we met in the first book. Jess is a wolf/woman who has admittedly made a few mistakes in her love/sex life and needs to escape her last bad decision of sleeping with her Alpha in a hurry.Jess meets her new Alpha Slater and it is obvious they have a spark between them right away, even if they didn't want one.
Slater and Jess are a cute couple who fight their feelings and each other in ways that just bring them closer together. The fear they have of falling for each other is as intense as their feelings themselves. I love how the writer keeps the action going throughout the book, and the introduction you receive of all of the different characters. There is a relationship that forms with the characters while reading that makes you anxious to read what happens next. I cannot wait to read Hayden's story because now I am invested.

New Beginnings by Brandy L. Rivers
Others of Edenton

Rating 5*****

This book was provided from the author in exchange for honest literary Tebow.

This is one of my highly anticipated books of 2013., I am in absolute love with this series! After Fallon and Brody, we now move on to Jess and Slater.
From the vert beginning you are drawn into this novel. Once I opened the cover I just didn't stop. I finished the whole thing in one sitting.
The plot flies by with just the right mix of suspense. It flows well and puts you roght there in the story. I also loved Jess. Kick butt female leads are simply awesome. It's nice to see characters face things head on and come out head up high.
I can't wait to hear the stories of everyone in this town. It's like everyone has their own story to tell, but each story is unique and heartfelt. This is a book you recommend to every single person you know. (Over 18)

Ladies…Slater is MINE!

The magnitude of hotness that the Edenton Series is off the charts hot. There's Brody from In Too Deep (sigh), but for all that is hot we have Slater in New Beginnings (fans self).

This is a must read, but ladies…fair warning Slater is spoken for….by me.

This series has completely sucked me in and literally though I’m not normally a paranormal reader I cannot wait until the next book in this series is released. Brandy Rivers has done a MAGNIFICENT job of creating a world that you want to be a part of it. There’s love, action, and HOT GUYS! The story progresses at a great pace and provides an excellent prequel for In Too Deep. Loved, loved, loved this story.

Phenomenal, just PHENOMENAL! Ms. Rivers thank you from the bottom of my heart for bringing Slater to us.

P.S.
Just one final reminder future readers, you are more than welcome to daydream about my man….but that’s it.

New Beginnings
Others of Edenton (book .5 prequel)
by Brandy L Rivers

I wouldn't have even found this series/author if I hadn't come across a contest for it.

Werewolves, a vampire, Fae and other paranormal beings make up this fantastic world created by Brandy L Rivers.

Hot alpha werewolves, some feisty she wolves, a sexy vamp and strong, kinda scary Fae. Add in an old wolf that is losing it and a lot of lovin. What sane woman wouldn't want to live in Edenton?

This book hooked me right away. I have already bought the next, "In Too Deep", and I am getting my coffee, going to sit in my comfy chair, relax and read. It's pizza tonight!

Great book, Brandy! I am sure I will love the rest of the series just as much.

**First, I would like to thank Ms. Brandy for the opportunity to receive and read an ARC of this book**

Ms. Brandy did it again! I so really loved this book.. I love the story, characters, heck...I loved all of it!!

I really loved how Ms. Brandy brought the characters to life and also the characters different personalities that made the story appealing and interesting to read. The story is so not boring and it really captured the reader's (me) interest.

I loved Jess and Slater's love story. I want to post some of my favorite parts but the thing is I don't want to post spoilers..dang..

Ok, really, if you love reading about werewolves + romance, I recommend this one..

Sporadic book!

This book started off hot and left me cool. The plot was just horrible but the writing was ok. The characters left me cold. The protagonist was just unlikable to say the least. She was always in a fowl mood even during sex. The only way to please her was orgasmic and once she was out of bed she was on a rampage.

Her lover was the Alpha of the pack but he was the submissive one in this relationship. Always submitting to her wants and needs. How did he run the pack? The entire theme just seemed off base by a mile.

Even during their wedding she was in a bad mood from fear. What the heck?

I really enjoyed this book, love the series.

So this book is about Jess and Slater, we already know a little about them from In Too Deep but this book tells the story of how Jess first came to be in Edenton and how she and Slater met.

I would have liked to have read New Beginnings before In Too Deep as we kinda knew how the story was going to go but it in no way ruined the story or took anything away from how good this series is.

I can't wait for the next one.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LOP)

I received this book in exchange for an honest review (Lovers of Paranormal)

Initially Read: January 2014

I enjoyed reading this book. The fact that Jess was not only a wolf shifter but had psychic abilities as well, made it interesting to read in my opinion. Plus, it made this book a bit different to other shifter books. I liked that throughout, the narrating was done by several people - it kept flicking between narrators so you got to see the events unfolding from different perspectives.

Re-Read: March 2015

How does a sexy Alpha wolf handle a sexy and feisty new wolf under his care? Especially when he has sworn off dating his wolves or mating them! Plus, this feisty female wolf doesn't want to mate an Alpha either! Jess is special and when her and Slater come together...but, their is danger lurking around! Will Slater and Jess mate? I loved the chemistry between these two characters but I also love Slater's close friends! Must read!
