Why We Are Born: Remembering Our Purpose through the Akashic Records

Rate this book
From the back cover of print Have you ever wondered, "Why was I born?" Humanity has always asked this fundamental question regarding life's purpose and meaning. Our thinking, however, is often limited. If we ponder this question only within the context of one physical lifetime, we cannot reach the answer. In order to know why we are born, we need to know what it was like before birth--and after death, and further yet, even before we assumed individuality. You are not your body. You are the soul currently living in the body. As souls, we are all interconnected and share information about what happened in our past lives, how we felt about the experiences, and what can happen in the future. Such shared information is called the Akashic Records. Why We Are Born, written by renowned Akashic Record Reader Akemi G in her signature straightforward style and with clear words, is a gift of light that dispels many spiritual myths such as "Life is a school." Whether you consider yourself spiritual or not, you will find in this book fresh insights that will help you remember how marvelous life really is despite its challenges.

I indie-published WHY WE ARE BORN in 2014. It has been selling steadily primarily by word of mouth, and I cannot thank enough.
"I consider this book required reading for any metaphysical seeker. Pretty big praise, but well-deserved because she takes concepts that are huge and often confusing to the average Joe or Jane and makes them understandable and relatable to real life."
~ Pathways magazine

My next goal is to entertain you with fiction; novels that shake your common sense and are loving in a strange way.

What you find on GR is Akemi as a person who likes to read, among other things. I think it's awkward when an author comments to the reviews of their own books, so I restrain myself from doing so; in other words, I seldom use GR for my marketing.

Happy reading.

Light reading for anyone who wants to research the entire history of the primordial energy from which we are created. Egad, my brain!
But seriously, a very enlightening and easy to read how-to on the Akashic Records. Highly recommend it to all my soulmates.

As I have said, I love this book. If you've ever asked why, Akemi walks you through in a way that is both matter of fact and reassuring. Her answers are complete. When was the last time you read a complete answer from a spiritual writer? Read this book. It will make the dark parts of your life brighter. I promise.

SHALLOW AS A PUDDLE.
I wanted to like this book but it proved irritating, ridiculously simplistic dotted with subtle but preaching judgments. If you are new to inquiring into your spirituality or are a younger adult or teenager this might be fine as a starting place; some of it is appropriate. However for me it gave nothing and lacked mature wisdom. E.g. 'suicide is committed by those who think death can end their suffering, it can't.' Well if you have lost all dignity with perhaps motor neuron disease, your family traumatized, helplessly watching you deteriorate and instead you choose to take your own life say after paving the way for a loving exit to end horrific suffering, then that should be respected. I abhor the blanket statements this author has made, clearly suicide can end suffering when medical advances can keep people alive in torment, and who is to say that is not someone's path, to choose to end their suffering by peaceful means with contemplation? This book lacks refinement and higher intelligence, it's clunky and at a kindergarten level. Frankly rather than being preached at ask thought provoking questions, listen to inner truths as a guide. This is limp. Repeatedly likening life to a simulation computer game was very annoying and trivializing, this book at times ignored or minimized the human condition which is one of suffering at times. To me there was a persistent element of denial by not engaging with deeper questions, opting for facile superficiality. Trauma, survival and stress plays a huge role in many people's lives which is seldom addressed and therein lies the key, and how that afflicts and limits and needs to be dealt with on a spiritual path, indeed you can do all the meditation, love and beauty in the world, but unless looking at the ugly side of life and one's shadow, you're not doing the work and reading your Akashic record won't assist fully.

I loved this book. There is much that resonates with me and is aligned with my path of learning--or, rather, remembering. There is not much new in here that I haven't already read in one form or another, and that is perfect, because hearing or reading things explained in different ways just makes the resonate value so much greater and fulfilling.

A book I have read countless times

This book came to me at a time I would call my, "searching". It changed my life and in the years since has become more real to me than I ever imagined. From a mere layperson to now an Akashic Record Practitioner, I can speak to the complete truth of the words written here. You, my friend, read this book. Keep searching, keep learning, keep loving. Your truth awaits.

Akashic Records

I enjoyed reading the book but felt it could have gone more into the Akashic Records. Although there was a small portion about it the title is deceiving. Still a good book to read and very positive and upbeat.
