Brace yourself Cecy fans, A Cursed Bloodline will take you for an emotional roller-coaster ride. It left me not only without any sleep but stripped of every energy to function the day after reading this book. And with that said, A Cursed Bloodline is one of my Top Picks of the year.

This is one of those series that should be read from the beginning. Only because reading from the start makes the readers understand the journey of all the characters and especially understand how Celia has gotten to this point of her life. It is a tremendous journey full of risks, danger and heartaches but also full of hope, love, family, friendship and a whole lot of survival.

Everything I’ve come to expect and predicted from the very beginning of this series has not at all come true in this book. Sure, Ms. Robson gave it non-stop suspense and action as always. There’s a little less humor, but the snark and smart mouths of the characters are also there, but some outcomes, I did not see coming. In fact, Ms. Robson shocked me with the turn of events she brought to the Weird Sisters’ lives. Just when I thought Celia has endured the worse, nothing would compare to this. This “Cursed Bloodline” will be her ultimate test. I have to say, this will also test the loyalties of everyone around her.

There is just no way for me to do a recap of the story without spilling any spoilers. But let me tell you this, there are a lot of scenes in this book that has deep meanings to them so, pay attention. Watch for Celia’s friendships and how drastic some will change for the better or worse, specifically her relationship with her sisters, Danny, Aric and most especially, Misha….and even the Catholic girls too. Everything that has come to pass between them had me in tears.

The sub-stories were just as powerful. Again, without doing a recap, I’ll tell you that Emme and Liam’s story affected me the most. Okay, maybe not the most because every bit of this book affected me, but their story hit me hard. I also took Misha’s role to heart. I wanted more for him but, I guess when it comes down to it; this Master Vamp is not quite ready for his HEA just yet.

There are several things that left me with questions about Aric and Celia but I am sure the answers will come as we get to the next book. Up next is A Curse Unbroken, and it is the last of Celia’s story. She will finally get her happy-ever-after and damn after this book it will be a well-deserved one. The series will not end after that but will continue to Taran’s story. I was hoping for Emme’s story but if I know Cecy, her characters have their way of revealing themselves. I trust she will keep us equally entertained and intrigued while we wait for their story.

Bottom line, Cecy has not disappointed me yet, maybe not ever. She's really good!

To say that Celia and Aric’s relationship has been rocky would be like calling a torrential downpour a sprinkling, but it was nice seeing that Cecy Robson turned the tables on these two lovebirds by leaving the wolf in the lurch. Really, all of the characters are feeling the pressure in this installment what with Bren in a coma, Danny getting exiled, and Emmy’s heartbreak. A CURSED BLOODLINE wasn’t just the darkest installment to date, it was also the most jam-packed.

This story was very Celia oriented which caused her three sisters to play lesser roles, and forced her into making new allies. All good things in my opinion because it stopped this series from fully transitioning into the Paranormal Romance genre. The love interest was still a focal point; however, it wasn’t the main plot. As I mentioned, there was no shortage of threads or action in this volume, and the ending made the four book long journey worth all of the pain.

Anara’s been a pest since day one, but he was finally officially appointed as Big Bad thanks to his latest ploy. It was difficult witnessing all of Celia’s friends and family turn against her, however it also allowed Danny to shine as a secondary which was quite rewarding. My only niggle with regards to this particular tangent was that the villain was axed off-page. I was out for blood after all of the misery that he’s inflicted on the Wird’s, and was disappointed that I didn’t get it.

The Misha and moon sickness story lines were equally intriguing. I know that the master vampire isn’t the heroine’s one-true-pairing, and yet he’s grown on me so much throughout this series that I can’t help except to be invested in his happiness, especially after the trials he faced in this novel. Celia and Aric’s time alone in the woods while she nursed him against all odds back to health was I think, the turning point for them as a couple for me.

Cecy Robson laid it all on the line in A CURSED BLOODLINE, and it paid off!

Four and a half stars: An emotional journey with plenty of danger and heartache!

Celia, her sisters and the weres are still recovering from the devastating demon attack that left many weres, including Aric, scarred and disfigured. Celia is desperately trying to reassure Aric that his scars don't matter, he still is the one who holds her heart, but then disaster strikes. Celia is attacked in her own home by Anara, the misguided, megalomanic were Elder. Anara insists on Celia breaking her mate bond and never seeing Aric again, as he wants to ensure that Aric breed with a pure werewolf. If Celia does not acquiesce to his demands, he will kill Aric and everyone she loves. Celia does the unthinkable and pushes Aric away, despite the immense heartache and pain it causes her. Worse, Celia learns a big secret that makes the separation even harder. Can Celia keep those she loves safe?
What I Liked:
*I have loved each and every installment of The Weird Girls Series by Cecy Robson, and this book is no exception. While this book is much more serious in tone and emotional, it still delivers a terrific story with plenty of action and romance. I was pleased to see some major resolution as far as the romance goes, no more annoying pseudo love triangle after this one. If you have been a fan of the romance, I think you will be happy with this book.
*Let's talk about the romance.... From the beginning, there has been searing sparks between Celia and Aric, but their romance has been one of major hurdles and heartbreak. After the conclusion of the last book, it was readily apparent that their romance was going to go through more upheaval in this book, and that is indeed the case. However even though there are some major walls to scale, the romance shines. This time, I had no doubts as to where Celia's heart lay, and I loved the depth of emotion conveyed. By the end, I was completely satisfied with the developments and all my doubts are gone. From here on out, I think the romance is going to be smooth sailing. (Knock on wood).
*Celia's character continues to grow and evolve. She learns to stand on her own and fight for everything and everyone she loves. This book is in some ways, Celia's personal journey as the three sisters take a background role. I loved seeing Celia fight, and I am loving her new found confidence. I also appreciated that when things were the most dire and the stakes were against her, she never gave up. She has matured into a courageous and formidable fighter, and I love her new found confidence.
*In the past, the villains have been demons and witches and crazed vampires, but this time out, the villain is much more terrifying. Anara is a megalomaniac, hell bent on making the werepack bend to his wishes, whether they know it or not. He is the type of villain that is scary because in his heart, he believes he is doing the right thing by maintaining the pureblood status of the pack. He does unspeakable things to ensure he gets his way. He was definitely the most chilling and horrible villain to date because he works behind the scenes pulling strings. I hated him!
*Even though the sisters were relinquished to secondary roles in this one, Emme seizes the spotlight when she is on scene and shines. Emme is going through her own personal heartbreak, but she never lets it get in the way. She continues to be there for Celia, no questions asked, no matter what. I love Emme with her quiet, gentle spirit, and my heart hurt for her when she learns the truth about Liam. Yet, she holds her head high and handles the situation in a truly admirable way. I loved that! I am anxious to see her story play out, and I have some ideas as to who her mate might be, fingers crossed!
*Thankfully, this time around there isn't a jaw dropping cliffhanger. Things are tied up and concluded for the most part, of course, there are a few niggling things that need to be followed up in the next book, but nothing that will leave you frustrated and anxious for the next installment. I liked that things ended on a positive note, and I was relieved that I didn't have to endure another major cliffhanger. Though the last line left me wondering...
And The Not So Much:
*So far all the books in the series have featured lengthy, violent and sometimes gory battle scenes. This time out, there isn't as much guts and gore, which I think was a good thing as I enjoyed the focus on Celia's growth and the romance. However, I had an issue with the fact that the secondary villain is killed off scene. Celia isn't present for the demise of the bad guy so the reader isn't either. I was expecting at least a recap of how the villain was killed, but the details were scant. I don't know after all the upheaval and drama this person caused, I thought I should at least get the details on how they died. This story line ended up being a big of a fizzle.
*One thing I have always loved about this series is the snark and the humor, but in this book, the snark was drastically toned down. Granted, this is a much more emotional book, but I still missed the witty banter of the sisters. There wasn't even a confrontation with their nosey neighbor. A Weird Sisters book isn't the same with a mouthy verbal spat with Mrs. Mancuso.
*Just when the dust has settled and it appears like everything is going to be okay, Celia and Aric are forced to go before the big were council so Aric can declare his intentions. I won't get into all the details, but there is this big melodramatic scene with lots of drama and it appears that the romance is again headed for more heartache, but then there is this neat resolution that makes everything all better. For me, this was one of those situations when a paranormal explanation comes in and solves everything. It felt to convenient especially after all the drama. Not a big deal, just a personal issue.

A Cursed Bloodline delivers another satisfying and solid installment in an outstanding UF series. This book is more emotional and it moves the story and the characters into a new direction. I loved Celia's growth, the developments with the romance and the conclusion of this book. It is my favorite book to date in the series! I am most anxious to read Celia's final book in March 2015. If you have yet to start this series, get after it!

Favorite Quotations:
"You are my one and only mate. I'll never know love or happiness without you, and I'm nothing without your smile."
"Roses couldn't grow without rain, and we'd had our share of thorns and storms."
"I don't need my heart to beat. I don't need to take a breath. As long as I have you, there is nothing else I need."

I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own and I was not compensated for this review.

I liked this book the least. It's just a continuation of the constant problems Aric and Celia have faced about their relationship due to his pure blood status and her being "other." This time it's a bigger threat to their happiness, but it's still the same plot line.

The bad guy is practically omnipotent over the wolves of the pack, you might even say he is. Yet, he still has to threaten Celia to get things done. That seems wimpy on his part. But he definitely did do it evil style when he did threaten her. He's a very immature and zealot type villain.

So this book is all angsty because Celia has to break a lot of hearts in order to keep those she loves safe and everyone gives her flack for it vs using some deductive reasoning. They all sense dense besides one person, Danny.

The ending is pretty over the top, but I guess it could work. Definitely did throw a monkey wrench into a lot of couples. And it was sad for Celia. All the guys in this book are still douches and I could've done without the romance.

I'm the biggest fan of this series, I love the world, I love the characters and I've devoured every single book and novella the second I've got my hands on them. A Cursed Bloodline was one of my most anticipated reads of the autumn so I had incredibly high expectations but now that I've finished reading it I think I'm in shock and I'm still not quite sure what to make of it.

A Cursed Bloodline had me completely gripped from the very beginning, so much so that I stayed up all night reading and finished it just before 7am! The book brought out so many intense emotions in me, I was shocked, angry, horrified, angry, hurt, angry, devastated, angry and heart broken. There were a couple of moments where I giggled but they were few and far between which is unusual for this series. If I had to pick one word to describe my mood reading this book it would have to be depressed. Every single time Celia was given even a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel something even worse would come along and smash her hope to smithereens and I actually got to the point where I was finding it painful to carry on reading. Never mind poor Celia - I needed something good to happen to stop my own heart from breaking!

I do feel that the book deserves top ratings because it made me feel everything so intensely, not every author has the ability to do that to me, but on the other hand I read for fun and this book made me suffer. I can deal with a certain amount of emotional upheaval in a story but there comes a point where you start thinking enough is enough and because everything is so bleak you start to wonder if you can bear to carry on reading. I'm still a huge fan of this series though and I'm going to trust Cecy Robson to make things better in the next instalment. She's taken us through rough patches before (although never quite this bad!) and always brought the characters out the other side stronger than ever so I'm going to trust that she'll manage it again. I just hope to god that the next book will be a little lighter in tone though or I may need therapy afterwards!

One thing I really love about these books is seeing how far Celia has come. Her bond with her sisters is really tested this time and I did find myself a little annoyed with the others (particularly Shayna) for not standing by her when she needed them. They should have known her well enough to understand that she must have good reasons for her actions and they should have supported her even if they didn't agree with her decisions - just like Danny and Bren did. I was less annoyed with the way the wolves behaved because they were acting with Aric's best interests at heart and they don't know Celia as well as her sisters should but even they started to annoy me after a while. It was Anara that brought my rage to unprecedented levels though and his actions made my blood boil.

The story has plenty of action where we get to see Celia kicking ass but I was a little disappointed that a major part of the final battle was off screen and we only find out exactly what happened later on when Celia asks her sisters about it. I know there is a reason for that (Celia was unconscious during that scene and since she's the narrator it would have been impossible for her to witness events unfolding) but I really would have preferred to see what happened first hand. Perhaps we could have seen Celia struggling to stay conscious and been given hazy details about what was happening as she looked on? I think that would have worked better for me anyway.

A Cursed Bloodline is one of those books that is going to shock fans. It'll probably be a Marmite book, one that you'll either end up loving or hating but no matter what you're bound to have an extreme reaction to it which, quite frankly, can only be a good thing. It took me a long time to decide whether this is my favourite instalment in the series or the complete opposite but I've come to the conclusion that any book that has me so invested that I feel like I'm being kicked in the teeth every time something happens to the heroine has to get top marks. This is definitely one of my favourite series and I'm now even more eager for the next book than ever!

Once again I am blown away by Robson's ability to bring out both the best in me and the worst.

She delivers in another spell binding addition to the Weird Girl series that had me constantly on the edge of my seat never knowing what to expect next. I wanted to reach through the pages and comfort Celia one moment and reach through the pages and strangle Anara the next. Never have I loved so much to hate someone in my life. The only other villain I can possible compare him to would be Dolores Umbridge from my beloved H.P. Series.

I wanted to cry, rage, scream, tear my hair out (okay bad joke here), stomp on my kindle, and gather the Wird sisters and the pack and protect them all, all at once. I don't think I have read a book from Robson that has inspired me to feel so many different things all at once, hence bringing out both the good and the bad in me.

My heart wasn't just ripped out of my chest, it was clawed out, more than once and then stomped on, maybe even spit on for good measure because hey, why not?

It ached. I ached for all the hardships that came between Celia and Aric. Never have two people been more doomed to be together and struggled so hard for their love than these two. And if that wasn't heart wrenching enough, Celia and her sister's relationship became strained as well as Celia had to kept secrets from them all in order to protect them and keep them safe.

I think I need a breather.

I think Robson may have ruined all other UF books for me.

Will anything ever compare to this read? Gah, This. Read.

This. Freaking, Read.

It tore my heart out, stomped on it and then stomped on it some more. I know I said that already but believe me, it bares repeating.

At one point I even had to put this down just so I could get a hold of my self. Too many stinking emotions all at once. I cried so many times it isn't even funny. If I didn't love Cecy so much I might actually hate her a little for the stomach heaving ride this book put me through. But of course I don't hate Cecy, I love her all the more because those emotions? Well they just testified to me all over again how good of a writer she is.

I care about this group of people a LOT. I think about them long after the book has been put down and sometimes even randomly for no reason at all. I love them. I have time, emotions and so much more invested in all of their well being and when they hurt, I hurt and let me tell you, I hurt a lot reading this. It was downright painful at times but it was okay because it made those rare happy moments, those triumphs, all the more wonderful and worth celebrating. I wanted to jump up and down when something godo happened and savor it.

I won't go into too much more detail because really, how much more can I sing this series praises? But truly this is a UF series that is so worth it to read. So worth it to go on that roller coaster ride from hell and then back again because you will love it. You will cherish the ride and when the book is done, you will want to do it all over again and be counting down the days until the next one. Trust me on this.

Mon avis en Français

My English review

Wow this book is really intense! Darker and harder than the previous ones, yet still oh so good! I was very excited to be able to immerse myself in the following novels about the Wird sisters and I got into the reading as soon as I could. However, I had to wait the weekend before starting it knowing that it would not take me long to finish it and that I would surely end it soon enough. And I am not mistaken on this point because once thrown into the story I could not stop until finishing it, although I went to bed very late because of that. The whole thing is really addictive! But I can tell you that once again Cecy Robson conquered me with her new novel.

Celia never has a moment for her and when she thinks everything is finally under control, it’s to start over again and completely changes everything in her life. But this time, the threat is important and Anara is not a being whom she can oppose. So when he threatens Aric, her sisters and all those she loves, Celia has no choice but to obey and act as she must, whatever the consequences. The former asks her to cut short any relationship with Aric, but also to break the bond they had formed together, so she leaves him behind without telling anyone. I was so heartbroken for the young woman. She wants to live quietly especially now that she learns she is pregnant, but it seems that fate is against her. Although we hope that she will manage to find a solution in regard to Anara, but nothing is simple, and I was curious to see how our heroine would escape all that.

Anara is a character who has an unimaginable power and his actions manage to put Celia against almost everyone, even her sisters. The young woman finds herself more alone than ever except of course of Misha as he is always there for her. It is quite touching to see that he tries to create something with her and even though sometimes we would actually like to see something between them, we also know that the heart of the young woman lives with Aric. But I confess that I enjoyed the conversation the young woman has with the vampire (but I’ll let you discover it). Unfortunately, nobody really understands Celia because none of the characters really takes the time to think about her, the reason behind her actions and what she has to endure. But apart from Misha, Danny is also here for the young woman, assisting her as best as he can, though it put him in more than compromising and dangerous situations.

So yes, a lot of things are going on here. Celia will have to go through a large number of events, some more difficult than others. But that’s not just that because all the characters will have to manage their own problems, and I can tell you that you will be surprised more than once with their stories. Oh yes because Cecy Robson booked us many surprises, many doubts, stress about the events but all this, is wonderfully well done.

I will not say more because it is very hard not to tell you everything that is happening here. But this volume is dark, sad, and ultimately full of revelations as well. It shows us the barriers that two souls have to face to be together, for a happy ending or not. I can only advise you to start this series if it is not done already, it’s one of my favorites. You will be completely blown away by the story, the characters and the pace without being able to stop reading it. And I can tell you now that I am again very excited to be able to read more!

SPOILER ALERT!!!!

What was that?? I was expecting this book to be good because I love this series but this book was not just good. It was amazing! Although it was more fast-paced than what I usually prefer, I didn’t mind because I couldn’t put it down! I have to warn you that this book isn’t a book that will make you laugh like the previous ones. While reading it, I was angry at first and then I was crying like a baby.

Celia is in a very difficult situation. Anara wants her away from Aric and threatens everyone she loves. She can’t say anything to anyone or else all of them will suffer. So she breaks the bond with Aric with Danny’s help. Not even her sisters understand her actions and they believe that something is wrong with her. But Anara goes a step further and uses Pack magic to control the wolves and they can’t even remember their actions. On top of that, Celia is pregnant and she has to deal with everything alone.

I admire Celia for her strength. I really can’t believe what she did in the whole book. To be honest, if I was in her position and after the awful thing that happened to her, I would not be kind with the wolves. She sacrificed too many things for Aric and the wolves and still many of them have a problem with her because she’s not like them. Once more, I saw in Celia a strength and determination that I hadn’t seen before.

Aric is having also difficult time because he doesn’t understand Celia’s actions. He’s hurt and I was kind of disappointed because he didn’t understand from the beginning that something was wrong. And he paid, like her, a very high price for that.

Misha once more proved me that he wants to be loved. He did everything in his power to have Celia and he was angry when he realized that she didn’t love him that way but at the end, he helped her more than anyone.
But some of the most devastating scenes in this book were the ones with Emme and Liam. They were my favorite couple and everything went to hell. First, Liam found his true mate and dared to suggest to Emma to be a bridesmaid!!! I was angry with him and wanted him dead, until… he died. It was devastating to read. No matter my anger, I cried like a baby. For him, for his mate and for Emme.

Although almost everyone was awful to Celia, I love the sisters and their loved ones. But, I have to admit that Danny was the best in this book. He did everything in his power (and more, I may add) to help Celia.

My final thoughts? I just don’t like the wolves. Only Aric, Danny, Bren, Koda, Gemini, Liam (even if he’s gone) and Aric’s mother. The way they are with Celia is unacceptable!

I really can’t wait for the next book! A great series that all the fans of this genre must read!

We need to talk. I'd like to discuss genres and what you're reading. Do you read urban fantasy? Do you read paranormal romance? Do you read plain 'ole romance?? Do you like strong heroines? Do you like that heroine to have a strong support system in the form of kick-ass sisters?

If ANY of these have piqued your interest, you really need to start the Weird Girls series by Cecy Robson. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this series rivals Kim Harrison's The Hollows in intensity, plot density (it's a thing, I think?), action / battles, and love, love, LOVE!

Oh... I remember when Ms. Robson was just a debut author and we all clamored for her first book, Sealed With A Curse. Ms. Robson was one of those authors that if you had a question about the story, she answered it. Strange thing is... she STILL is!! And she welcomes those questions! And if you look at the Goodreads ratings of this series, the reviews just got better and better.

No spoilers for the entire series

My expectations for this fourth book in the series was for Celia to find some happiness, any happiness, in her crazy magical life. It started out that way but quickly changed when a nasty wolf elder took matters in his own hands and went crazy all over Celia. This is nothing new to Celia because the wolves have always hated Celia. But if you've kept up with the series, you might understand when I say that this book took it further. The entire storyline was almost too much for me. I cried so much during and after reading this book. It sort of reminded me of the time I read a certain book in the Hollows series. I could be out at the grocery store and just think about the book and tears would form in my eyes. Same thing after reading A Cursed Bloodline.

I had the book hangover... again.

But even if you can't handle an intense storyline, fans of this series can NOT miss this book. So many over-arcing plot points come to their resolution. There's also just great story featuring relationships and how they've grown and become something beautiful and exactly what the characters need. Have I been vague enough for you? Have I annoyed the pants off ya? If it worked to get you into a pair of pjs, cuddled into the couch, and reading this book or series then my life is fulfilled.

Well, not quite fulfilled but you catch my drift.

Am I her publicist? Hell no! I have no clue how to do that nor do I have time for that! But the Weird Girls series is hands down one of my favorite series over all genres. And Ms. Robson is a favorite author of mine for her professionalism, her spunk, and her ability to stay human and humble as she works her day job.

**I received this book for free from Publisher (Loveswept) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.**

*Genre* Urban Fantasy Romance
*Rating* 3.5

*My Thoughts*

There is so much I have to say about A Cursed Bloodline, that in order for me to say what I am hoping to say, my review may sound like I'm a raving lunatic. You see ladies and germs, even though I adore Cecy like my own sister, she's a sadist pure and simple. She tears your heart into little bitty pieces and leaves no stone unturned in her desire to painfully torture all her characters to the brink of complete annihilation.

A Cursed Bloodline (Weird Girls #4) by Cecy Robson You know that book that you've been waiting for...the one you don't really want to read because you're afraid you'll be horribly disappointed? Yeah. That was this book for me. When I started reading it, I was fully prepared to hate it. I should explain that I was so frustrated and angry over the previous book in this series that my Kindle Fire came perilously close to bouncing off the far wall. Repeatedly. That book left me drained and despairing that Celia and Aric would ever get a HEA. Oh, forget the HEA. I would have shed tears for a HFN. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for torturing characters but damn it! At some point they need relief and they never, NEVER EVER got it in CURSED BY DESTINY. So, it was with obvious trepidation that I approached this book. I was ready to put rubber bumpers on my Fire. I was ready to just put it down and roll over to sleep. Yeah. About that...

How do I talk about this book without spoilers? I can't. And since I don't believe in spoilers, I won't talk about it. Except to say that all the characters are tortured. Terrible things happen. But where there is betrayal, there is redemption. Where there is heartache, there is love. And where there are scars and horrible pain, there is healing. I didn't want to like this book. Every few pages, I screamed, "Oh no she didn't!" to the cosmos in hopes some echo of it reached Ms. Robson. But not once did I consider putting the book down or stop reading it until I reached the end. What a freaking emotional rollercoaster! I was wrung out. And despite myself, I'm giving it five stars because any book that can turn me inside out deserves it.

I've already preordered the next book in the series. What can I say? I'm glutton for punishment.

This was a lot darker than the previous books in the series and it didn't have as much humour, but this added depth and realism to the series. I saw a different side to the characters as they had to deal with tragedy as well as Celia's dilemma and I am not ashamed to admit that I shed a tear or two. I loved getting to know Danny and Bren better and seeing Misha in a vulnerable situation . Celia certainly has a tough time, and it showed her fragility as well as determination to fight on. Though the plot went from conflict to conflict and each were resolved very quickly, I am still enjoying this series immensely.

Again TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much dramaaaa, and TOOOOOO many things going wrong!!
I already felt "tired" from the previous book and i just wanted to get this one through, with all the "sh*t" already happening plus the impending dooms, it's just to much, i was reading just to know what and how it happened but i was not completely enjoying the reading, it felt like when you are compelled to watch and follow disastrous news just so you know everything will be alright or how it goes, but you're not really enjoying it.

I feel mentally tired... UGHHHH

Alright, first I need to thank NetGalley for introducing me to Cecy Robson with this book. And for providing me with a copy in return for an honest review.

This novel, number 4 in the series is... there are so many words to describe it. Epic, fun, hot, scary, heart throbbing, heart stopping, sorrowful, mesmerizing. There are many levels to this novel. Honestly it is one of my new favorites. Cecy has encased the perfect hidden world of supernaturals for Tahoe. Using Cali and Nevada as her focal points she makes it into something fresh and new. This is what draws the reader in, makes them sit up and take notice. Kind of like a wolf sitting up at attention. (laughs) But seriously, I was blown away.

I'm ready to shout from the rooftops that this is the new fad. This series is a Must read and this novel itself is the GLUE that will keep it all together.

Now, as for my review, I am trying to do this so there are not too many spoilers. So here we go.

Celia Wird, girl, tigress, badass that she is is keeping tight hold onto a secret that could tear her world apart. And a secret that would mend some of the broken pieces. But since evil looms about, waiting to strike at the mention of her secret she is held captive by it. The pain, heartache and chaos around her are only pushing her further and further into the cocoon she so desperately needs to survive. Her strength is no match for the brutality that she faces.

Her family, friends (pack members), and the vampires think she is going mental. Maybe she was at times but the terrifying reality that your entire world could be taken from you in a blink of an eyes, literally, was enough to make her flee their attempts to help her. She is made to sever her mated bond to Aric, or he will die. There is only one hope for her, even if she doesn’t see it coming. That’s Danny. Her friend, her ex-boyfriend, her constant nerdy bottle of hope. He locates a spell, performs it and hopes that she knows what she is doing.

Koda, her big, hot tempered brother-in-law figures out what she did and tells Aric. You’d think that wouldn’t go over so well…. and yeah it doesn’t. Aric finds out Danny helped her do it and in a blind rage hunts Danny down. Celia does all she can do to stop Aric from killing Danny. (He does beat the mess out of him. I can’t blame him.) The only way to calm Aric’s rage is to get close to him. Let her touch calm him. When this happens the one attacking her appears. She has to make Aric hate her, leave her now or someone dies. This heartbreaking awful confrontation hits hard. Like a gut punch.

After the attack Danny confronts Celia (within earshot of the wolves) about who is attacking her. She freaks out and makes him stay quiet. For his safety and the safety of the others. Her selflessness is more than anyone could ask for in a sister, a lover and a fighter.

Thankfully from that time on Danny stays close to her. Since he can hear and see what is attacking her. Maybe there is hope. Never hurts to be able to share all your secrets with someone. After this episode of “how can I hurt Celia today” is over things go even more downhill and quickly.

Misha is taken by shapeshifters. (The Tribe) This makes Celia “the mistress of the house” and in charge of all of Misha’s homes, business, money and all. She handles it well through delegation.. (laughs) The Alliance won’t help to find Misha. Celia is confronted, in the Den, by the vampire master she met in the beginning of this series from New Jersey. He wants to challenge her for Misha;s family. Without a word, only a single kick to the head she snaps his head off and leaves. Talk about pissed off. Since no one is willing to go after Misha, our girl Celia decides to. She along with the werelion Tye and the strongest of Misha’s family head off after him. It’s a rough journey, one that ends a lot of vampire and tribe lives. But it has to be done.

While Celia is off on her rescue mission… Danny, our sweet little Danny goes to the Den during a meeting that houses the Elders and the pack and busts in to tell them who has been attacking Celia. Needlesstosay that went over as well as a hot coal in the seat of your pants. Aric has learned the truth. She didn;t hurt him just to be a bitch. He jumps a plane cna goes after her. Meeting up with her right as Celia and the vamps rescue Misha and she tries to kill the dark witch responsible for his capture. She only manages to wound the witch before she spells Aric. He is moon poisoned. (The were version of being in a blood lust state.)

Celia, Tye and one of Misha’s vampires get Aric caged, tranqued and on a plane home. Celia hopes the Elders can help him. Yeah, lets just say that was NOT a good idea. As a pack they are ordered to end his suffering. But we can't have that. (I will be honest this almost made me have a heart attack. I so screamed NO at my kindle as I read. LOL) Celia takes her eagle form and escapes with him in tow. They land when its not possible for her to go any further. He isn’t a happy wolf… Aric attacks Celia, biting her. Then stops. Something about that bite makes him recognize her as his. She takes care of him, finding them food, shelter and making a choice to call in help. Her sisters.

She sends her sisters back to South America to get the witch she weakened days ago to release Aric from this curse. After a few days Celia wakes to a strange tingle but thinks nothing of it. When she wakes again Aric is whole again. His human side is unscared and perfectly him again. Its only a day or so later that Aric’s warriors, Koda, Gemini and Liam find them. Seems her sister’s fake story and an odd number that wasn’t wiped off the phone led them there. The warriors are told the WHOLE story of what had been going on. Of course they are mortified.

On the way to safety the asses of the Tribe attack them. Things go from bad to worse to you have got to be kidding me. Then it suprasses that all and goes straight to utter horror. Seems our bad guy didn’t like being called out. Things are topsy turvy at best until Celia finally wakes. If not for Aric, her sisters Danny and Misha, yes our lovely master vampire she wouldn't have made it. The evil would have won. Seems Danny has found out what his gift as a blue merle were is. Thankfully he figured it out in time to save the day.

As things settle down, they all move forward. Seems love, heart and family are the best medicine for many things. Too bad.. it doesn’t last long.

I know this isn’t long and drawn out with more details but, the books not out until Next month. I will not ruin the most epic of stories by giving away the good stuffs! So.. with that said I leave you with this.. the next book in the series is not out until 3/10/15 so until then I will pacing and making grabby hands…. cause I NEED it!!

The Weird Girls series has been a constant favorite ever since the prequel novella was released, but The Cursed Bloodline, its fourth (and hopefully not final) installment left something to be desired. Apparently there’s such a thing as too much violence, even in urban fantasy, because there came a point in the second half of this book where I just felt that enough was enough.

That’s not to say that I didn’t enjoy my time with Celia – I honestly did. Being so familiar with a set of characters has its advantages, the most important being the easiness with which we rejoin them every time. Spending time with them is extremely comfortable, and I’m always eager to learn more about their lives. Emme’s heartbreaking story was particularly important in this installment and her quiet strength and elegance provoked a deep sense of admiration in me. Being someone’s second choice, even when that someone holds no blame whatsoever, would break even the strongest of hearts, but Emme held her head high and her dignity intact.

The thing this book sorely lacks, however, that the others had in spades, is structure. There is simply too much of everything – too much violence, too much drama, too many tragedies and far too many miscommunications – to the point where it all became a heavy burden for the narrative that ended up resembling a too vivid patchwork quilt, but without a solid binding to hold it all together. It was quite overwhelming at times, and unnecessarily difficult throughout.

Another very odd move on Robson’s part was that she didn’t give us a chance to witness the big villain’s demise. Since Celia wasn’t completely present for it, we missed it as well, and it was horribly anticlimactic and disappointing. I felt that this huge, important villain, the strongest of them all so far, tortured, killed and maimed, did irreparable damage to both Celia and Aric, only to disappear from one sentence to the next. Disappointing? Why yes, it certainly was.

However, please don’t make the mistake of giving up on this series before you even started. One weak(er) installment aside, this is really good urban fantasy, and definitely worth your time. Make sure to give it a try or you’ll really be missing out.

Another action packed installment of the wired girls. Always nice to revisit this world, I don't know what took me so long to read this installment when I loved the 1st three. Oh well lesson learned.. don't leave this series for so long again!

So anyway, thoughts on the book. It was really good. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. Just when I thought I wouldn't be able to endure the "love triangle" anymore it changed. So I was happy about that. There are some real tear jerker moments and I admit I almost cried but I put my big girl panties on and preserved. There were a couple of surprise twists that i'm interested to see how they will play out. Overall, It was good to be back and I look forward to reading the next one in the series... Like now. :) Happy reading!

Ah alass this is the last book.... for now.

This was amazing and heart renching. What to do for poor Celia. Im not a spoiler of books really. Its not my thing. When I read these I just wanna know what the reader thought about it. This by far was catching I feel like it was glued to my hand. I had tinkerbell on in the background and this just captivated me. I wanted more but I didn't want it to end. I cannot wait for the next one.

This end however was still heartpounding but not as bad. I feel more relaxed with this ending than with that of the others. The others had me like where is the next book I need the next book.

A Cursed Bloodline is the fourth book in the Weird Girls series by Cecy Robson.

A Cursed Bloodline continues were Cursed by Destiny (third book) left on. Celia and her sisters are dealing with the aftermaths of what happened in Cursed by Destiny and trying to be supporting for their mates, at least those who still have a mate. Celia has something else on her plate, she just found out she’s pregnant with Aric’s child. A noticed that should have brought her happiness only brings more complications and sadness to her life. After she received an ultimatum from Amara instead of sharing the good news with those close to her she’s forced to hide her pregnancy and to cut ties with her loved ones, all to protect them. The only problem is she can’t be honest with them and tell them what’s going on therefore they can’t understand what’s going on with her and why she’s behaving so erratically.
Celia is not completely alone, Danny realized what’s going on with her and is trying to help her, but that help only complicate things with Celia’s sisters and the wolves.

A Cursed Bloodline is the darkest book in the series. Cecy really went the extra mile in this one making her characters suffer page after page. Sometimes I really think she enjoys too much making her characters and us suffer.
Poor Celia didn’t have a breather on this installment. She suffered attack after attack, so much I had to take some breaks while reading this book, because it was emotionally exhausting. Also, in this installment, because of the seriousness of the story and the distance between the characters we didn’t get as much comic relief as we got in previous books, this made of A Cursed Bloodline a even darker book.

Celia goes through so much in this installment that she can’t help but grow throughout the pages to keep up with what’s going on in her life. Without her sisters by her side she not only has to find new friends and allies, but also she has to take a more leader approach to survive everything Evil Cecy threw in her path.

One thing I have to mention about A Cursed Bloodline is that Cecy’s imagination and creativity have no limit. OMG! She left me flabbergasted with all the elements she included in the story. She went where no author has gone before, did three turns around, stopped for coffee and donuts and came back. That’s how freaky creative she is… I wish I could live in her head for a day… what a trip that would be.

As I said before Cecy is also not afraid of making us suffer and she proves it once again with the demise of a loved character… Sadly, it wasn’t Aric, Ok, I’m kidding, but I still haven’t forgiven him. I think he was an ass and didn’t fight enough for Celia. I think Celia deserves better. Talking about better, I have to talk about Misha. I loved him in previous book and I kind of loved him in this one. I know he’s not the perfect man for Celia, but my heart can’t help but hurt from him. I just hope he gets his well-deserved HEA soon, very soon, and with the person I think is perfect for him. *winks*

Because of the circumstances Celia’s sisters don’t play a big role in this installment, still it’s pretty obvious they will do anything for one another and do so when it’s necessary.

A character that deserves a shout out is Danny. He is a great friend and despite his limitations he risks everything for those he loves. I’m so glad his future is a bit brighter and his place in the pack was cemented after the role he played in the resolution of the story.

Now about the resolution, I have one thing to say. I hate when the villain is killed off page and that’s what happened in A Cursed Bloodline. After everything we saw Celia suffer under the hands of Anara I think we deserved to see his demise on page. Sadly it didn’t happen, we only got third party recollections of the event.

As always, Cecy’s writing is top notch, she kept us engaged in this adventure with twists and turns that were completely unexpected, she brought us heartbreaks and joyous moments, and made her characters grow and evolve page after page. My only complain that is actually not a complain, but more like a comment… I can’t believe I’m saying this, but there was a lot of action in this book, maybe a bit too much. As I said before, A Cursed Bloodline was emotionally draining. I applaud Cecy for bringing all those emotions in me, that only shows her gift with words, but… I hope things will be a bit calmer and less crazy for Celia and the rest of the cast in next book in the series, A Curse Unbroken, to be released on March 10th, 2015.

I recommend A Cursed Bloodline to urban fantasy fans, but I also recommend reading these books in order to get the full effect of the wonderful series Cecy Robson has created.

A Cursed Bloodline: A Weird Girls Novel, Cecy Robson
Review from jeannie zelos book reviews
Having just read the novella introducing the sisters and their world I found it fine to jump straight in to this series, despite having missed the earlier books ( though I want to read them now too!). We meet Misha, the Master Vampire who is convinced he is in love with Celia, and that they will be together...despite her having told him over and over that she loves Aric. She’s been through so much to be with him, as a Pure Werewolf the Pack Elders were not happy at their connection, but finally recognised it because of their Mate bond. Still, not everyone is happy and it seems one of them, Anara, has secretly been gaining power, and turned to Dark Magic. Now he threatens everyone Celia loves, from her sisters, to Aric and his pack, and all her friends. He shows her just what he can do when he targets one of them, and he is unable to recover as a Were should. He tells her she needs to leave Aric, sever their bond, and to tell no-one of his plans or he will kill them all....Poor Celia, what a trap to be in and it gets worse and worse with danger coming from him and from another source. It leads to a riveting adventure, where I was hard put to keep up. Its a real roller coaster ride... Scarcely did she seems to recover from one thing when the next was on her. Its drama, drama, drama all the way, lots of magic and some scenes that really pulled at my emotions. Aric, he was so hurt when she pulled away, couldn’t believe it at first and then as her actions over time got more an more erratic thanks to Anara, and even her family thought she’s lost her head mentally he appeared to finally believe her and to have moved on – and when Celia saw that she was so distraught. I was too – poor Celia, all she wants to do is help people and be left alone with her love but all she gets is danger and isolation. she’s holding another huge secret from everyone too and I just felt heartbroken for her. I love a read like this where the sadness is really drawn out and i feel moved almost to tears. Its a testimony to how real the characters feel to me. My favouriet books are those where everything feels real even though its fantasy.

Stars: five, great escape from reality, a real gut wrenching read – just my type! I loved it even though I didn’t know all the background details, and its one for the keeper files along with the earlier ones when i get them...

A new rival emerges and tortures Celia giving her an ultimatum – sever her mate bond with Aric or watch everyone she loves die in this thrilling urban fantasy romance.

A fast pace and smooth flowing plot thrills readers with non-stop suspense and action. Cecy Robson brings the story to life with well written scenes and details that inspire vivid images and captures the imagination and the well orchestrated suspense and action makes the reader feel as if they are there and ensures that the reader wants to know everything that happens. The characters are strong, compelling and draw the reader deeper into the story and the fascinating world ensures that the readers come back for more.

The reader can’t help but get caught up by all the torture and emotional turmoil that Celia is put through as she tries to keep everyone she loves alive during multiple violent attacks. Celia and her sisters are characters that stand out and really capture the heart of the reader and in this story Celia is under heavy duty emotional and physical attacks from every direction, not to mention the pressure her vampire friend, Misha is putting on her. The story is also spiced up a little with some side romances going on, but unfortunately it also inspires lots of tears (I mean…make sure you have lots tissues close by).

Lots of characters to fall in love with, lots of characters to hate (and just let me say that I think the evil were dude needs to be tortured for eternity), surprising twists, lots of thrilling edge of your seat excitement, never a dull moment…another words there is no way I could put this book down once I started reading it. I do want to point out that while the story can be read out of sequence, you will find you are missing some elements from the previous stories but not enough that you can’t enjoy this one. While I certainly am saddened by some of the happenings in this story I sure can’t wait to read the next one.

MINOR SPOILER WARNINGS FOR PREVIOUS BOOKS!! Please don't read this if you haven't read the previous three books. Any spoilers for THIS book are hidden.

I'm seeing a lot of mixed reviews for this book, a lot of people either thought it was really good, just okay, or didn't like this installment. I loved it. In fact - I devoured it. I couldn't put this book down or stop thinking about Celia and her troubles, and that is something not many books have made me do lately. I am such a sucker for this series, and I am emotionally attached to all the characters in a way that I haven't been with any book for a very, very long time.

Now, we know from the last book that Celia is expecting, and we go through this whole book protecting her from all sorts of evil. I agree with what other reviewers are saying when they say sometimes it got to be too violent , but it added to the suspense and I can see now that it was inevitable anyways. My heart broke along with Celia's more times than I could count in this volume, and the fact that Robson decided to , while it was extremely upsetting, was a great plot device (to me) and made the story-line that much more intense.

Overall, I loved this installment. It made me feel things I haven't felt for a book in a long time and that - to me - is worth all the stars in the world.

A Cursed Bloodline is the 4th book in the Weird Girl series by Cecy Robson. This is the first book that I’ve read in the series and once I figured out who was who in the large cast of characters I had no problems following along. Though for the best appreciation of the book, I highly recommend reading the series in order.

I liked this novel and it made me curious to read the previous books. The heroine, Celia sure gets put through the wringer though, in more ways than one. Poor girl, I felt bad for her. All I can say is that it’s a really good thing her sister, Emma, has the power to heal, otherwise Celia would be dead many times over. I really liked Celia. She’s an interesting and likable heroine. The characters are all well done and I enjoyed the different dynamics amongst them.

A Cursed Bloodline is a fast paced story filled with action, danger and emotion. There is plenty of angst with deception, betrayal and tragic heartache. I felt for the characters, particularly Celia and I urged them on. The romance is rocky and intense. Celia has a spirit and strength of will that pulls her through the toughest times. I couldn’t help but admire her. The ending wraps things up nicely and leaves you wanting to find out what happens next. I enjoyed A Cursed Bloodline and I look forward to reading more.

A Cursed Bloodline and the Weird Girl series is recommended to fans of urban fantasy.

A Cursed Bloodline (Weird Girls #4) by Cecy Robson Celia Wird is being threatened by a werewolf Elder, Anara, to stay away from her mate Aric, or he will kill the people she loves.

Let me start by saying poor Celia. I cannot believe all the stuff the girl had to endure during this book. Needless to say I have a ton of respect for her character as a result. She is strong and selfless.

The vampires are hilarious. I could totally picture the Catholic schoolgirl persona. They definitely lighten the mood; the things that come out of their mouths cracked me up. In addition, the tension between the vampires and wolves is well done.

The character development throughout the books in exceptional; so many of the characters grow throughout the story making the reader feel invested in them.

A Cursed Bloodline has a fabulous plot with numerous things going on. Just when you think, our heroes are going to catch a break something else happens. I truly enjoyed this story and look forward to the next book in the series.

This book was pretty brutal. For a pregnant woman she sure gets kicked around a LOT in this book. It got to that point where I was all, please! Please, do not have people beat her up anymore!

Right, so the book is violent. I guess you already guessed that. Someone is hurting her and it's not pretty. Then there is the whole I am preggers and no one knows angle. And of course the I must stay away from Aric and it breaks me angle. It does not make for a happy book. Everyone is miserable. Everyone!

But Celia is trying to get out of the corner she has been backed into. I have forgiven Aric and I just want them together. I still love Misha, poor Misha :/ He needs a woman. Anyway, the way out of that corner is filled with fights, blood and heartache.

One thing, a lot happened, not always in a good way. There was just a lot going on, they just jumped from one thing to another. But oh well, at least I was never bored then. Non stop action.

And then that thing at the end, omg, evil. I just want everyone to be happy. Please make everyone happy.

Looking forward to more.

As much as I love Celia and the girls, this was a huge disappointment. A villain straight out of a comic book he was so cliche, violence that served no purpose, an unnecessary death, and as another reviewer said "way too much of the same thing, over and over." What really turned me off, however, is I'm just not sure I'm going to be able to get past that and possibly continue with the series. I can't justify that plot point no matter how I look at the story.

Freaking amazing! I laughed, I cried, I anguished over what I thought would happen next. LOVED the epilog. Quite a ride!
