I adored the first 4 Tower Chronicles and was sorely disappointed when I couldn’t find any information leading to ‘The DreadStalker’- both volume 1 & 2.

I thought, “Nooo... this is it? If only more people were to read these books, Legendary and Wagner would create more!!!!

I looked and looked, read and read article after article on Google.
What did I learn?
... The first Tower Chronicle graphic novel did not reach many readers because of an ill conceived graphic novel cover that didn’t appeal to the masses.

I didn’t mind the cover. I know how to look inside.

This new series...

‘DreadStalker’ picks up the series and continues to share John Tower’s mysterious life.

I was taken by surprise. That’s a good thing. I like not knowing what’s going to happen when I turn a page.

I love everything about this series. I love the cheesiness. I love how the words flow together at times.
.... I really appreciate the time and effort it took to complete the art and color work.

Ryan Brown, Simon Bisley & Sean Konot created something special within these pages!
I love the art and lettering!

I’m a romantic at heart, and this is how the comic wiggled and wormed it’s way in.

I’ve enjoyed a lot of truly great comics, but this one... yep... this one... is still my favorite!
Cheesiness, and all!

... and as an aside, if more readers would read these and Matt Wagner would agree, there’s a whole world of mysterious intrigue, supernatural spookiness, religious turmoil and a tragic Greek love story that would entertain readers for years- and a lifetime!

I liked the giant chicken monster that lived in the New Mexico desert and played fresbee with the immortal zombie man.

via NYPL - enigmatic dude with mystery past (that ties to Knights Templar - conspiracy bonus points!); secret Illuminati/Masonic antagonist with world-shaking influence; monster hunting with modern twists; lady POV character trying to get close to protagonist - these cliches have been beaten beyond use, I think. Wagner's a terrific creator, but outside of some flashback sequences showing how Tower met a couple of his allies, there's nothing fresh here. Bisley's not really an artist who moves the needle for me, though I realize he has his fans. The whole affair feels stiff and plastic to me.
