The return of the true Paleo diet with 250 enticing recipes that prove following The Paleo Diet is as delicious, inventive, and inspiring as it is healthy
It’s official—the real Paleo Diet is back. Loved for its simplicity, health benefits, and because it really works, the diet has been widely imitated since its release. Yet no one knows this plan better than Loren Cordain, its creator. As an expert in evolutionary medicine, Cordain realized we had moved away from the foods we were designed to eat—lean proteins, fruits, and vegetables—while modern staples such as sugar, salt, and carbohydrates were creating a host of 21st-century health issues, including obesity and heart disease. By eating the right food, people are healthier. But can eating Paleo be tasty?
In this all-new cookbook with 250 recipes and 75 photos, Cordain makes eating Paleo a pleasure, not a burden. Ranging from Cucumber Aqua Fresca to Fruit-Stuffed Top Loin Roast with Brandy Sauce, the recipes satisfy even the most finicky. This is the book the Paleo community has been waiting for—scientific accuracy combined with great taste.
Loren Cordain, PhD, is one of the world's leading experts and researchers in the area of evolutionary medicine. He is on the faculty of Colorado State University and the author of The Paleo Diet and The Paleo Diet for Athletes. He has been featured on Dateline NBC, in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and other media."
I am a meat lover. I have food intolerances that prevent me from eating a certain vegetable and from mixing grains with my fibrous protein. So this cookbook rocks.
There are no recipes for grains with these meat rich meals (yay!). I've made more than a few already and have pleased myself and others with the flavors. I still use salt (sparingly) but I love how I'm learning to use spices. A new favorite is the sage scotch eggs (although I use cranberries instead of cherries).
While I don't follow the Paleo diet (and there are only a few pages on that subject), this cookbook works for my needs and it is easy. While I find myself buying more vegetables, I end up using them before they go bad. I'm glad I bought this book.
What could make it better? More pictures of the finished recipes instead of the ingredients. I also found the index odd. There will be random recipes thrown under an ingredient or dish that it has nothing to do with. Maybe a miscellaneous section would fix that.
The book and all recipes are amazing. However, I hate to cook and have attempted only a few recipes because most of them are time consuming to shop for and prepare.
Beautiful hardcover book. I've picked out one recipe to make on Saturday. You won't think you are deprived after browsing through this cookbook. The best part is the man has created so there is no guessing if it's truly Paleo.
I will say that I don't follow a Paleo diet, but I love 80 percent of the recipes in this book. I will be purchasing this book that are loaded down with simple, easy to prep and easy to purchase ingredients. I will be referring it to several friends who do follow a Paleo diet.
Delicious recipes... Even if you don't want to eat paleo 100% of the time these are really healthy and creative recipes anyone can incorporate into their lives. Can't wait to cook more from this! Cordain always impresses me!
A ton of great recipes using fresh ingredients. Loved them all. The spices and flavors just sound so wonderful. Cannot wait to make everything in this cookbook. My mouth was actually watery reading this cookbook.
A friend recommended this book after losing 100+ pounds following the recommendations within. It seems pretty straight forward and makes sense primarily because it's not really a "diet", but rather a lifestyle change. Clean, healthy eating. As it should be.
