When Ray-Ray is snatched from the comfort of her old life and thrown into the abyss of the underworld she has to learn that sometimes you have to survive today so that you can live tomorrow
I went though so many emotions in this book. The way things was going the twists and turns was wild. I really enjoyed this book .Trigga was on point. Get the book i know you wilk enjoy ut as much as i did .Moving on to the next part.
Oh my goodness it took forever to finish this book, while it was good I guess I got lost somewhere and it started dragging for me. I will finish reading the series though because I have to see where it's going.
I read this book within a few hours....great from beginning to end., Ray Ray a 16 yrs old girl was always sheltered from the hard life her parents lived until their sins fell upon her, she watched as her father was killed in front of her and her mom shot dead....before her father died he sold her to Damien Orlando he didn't want to see his daughter die. Damien and he crew took her, Damien was ruthless, crazy, a rapist just down right a demon...Ray Ray was tortured, beaten raped and made his submissive on front of everyone.
Trigga a young cat part of Damien crew had to watch his parents die in front of him, for days he watched as his mom was tortured and raped..Trigga finds out who was behind the killings of his family when he hears the word DOA from Ray Ray mouth.
Damien a demon doesn't care about anyone, his soul is black....He has cameras and eyes everywhere and feels that Trigga his bodyguard is out to take Ray Ray, he sets Trigga up to get killed by his good friend Jake...and the end Ray Ray, Trigga, Jake and more will take Damien down!!
This book was to much for me. I got half way through and I couldn't take it anymore. The sex, violence and raping. It was to much for my delicate sensibilities. I think I might be done with street lit for a while, I will stick with Denishia Diamond and K'Wan, but I'm done with everybody else. FYI I don't consider Carl Weber Street Lit.
I don't know what I expected of this book but I got way more gore and street thuggery than I anticipated. I wasn't ready for the depths of sickery (made up word) some of the heads of these organizations were willing to carry out, and the torture inflicted on people read like a Stephen King novel. I liked it, but kind of hated that I liked it. LOL
Snake in the grass Dame is crazy and everybody has a agenda to get him Trigga is my dude along with Diamond I think they will make a cute couple I'm glad I read this book it has my attention throughout
This book was a great book from start to finish. Trigger was definitely no one to mess with. I really enjoyed this book. Ray Ray was something serious. I really can't wait to see what happens in part 2. Brick & Storm put it down in this book. 5 star banger you won't be disappointed at all.
I read it yes I did. I will be reading the second one. There was a lot to overcome reading this, and the language, it was MAJOR graphic as well as graphic images of EVERYthing. I cried at times just thinking about what these poor girls went through and go through.
All I can say is "dang!" The story line pretty interesting. Never bite the hand that feeds you until you realize how you came to be fed. LOL...On and upwards Trigga.
I listened to this book on audible and GOODNESS!!! Ray-Ray is one surviving chick and I cannot wait to see how she and Trigga will play out. I loved the Bonnie and Clyde action in the end.
Hood Misfits was a hard read, but I was immediately invested. It gave early Wattpad, but this story is very dark and there's not really any space for joking or silliness. I had to stop and start quite a bit. It hurt to read this story. The story is not a happy one. I wanted Damien to DIE. So bad! He's so evil! Damien deserved everything he got. I love a story that has a great villain, but yeah, this made my soul crack. Like, the main character is just a baby, she's 16. She doesn't deserve this life.
I am hooked on this series. It was a crazy, thrilling & unpredictable storyline that I didn't want to stop reading until the end. Even now I need to read volume 2 ASAP. Brick has never disappointed me. This is my favorite book so far. Trigga is my dude!!! I hope him & Diamond finally be together. I already know from the ending that more is to come and I'm ready to enjoy the ride of Hood Misfits!!!
This book was giving train wreck. Lol. Poorly written and disjointed at times, but here I am to say I finished it and will finish the series lol. Simply because I’m a committed reader! But this book should come with so many trigger warnings! The amount of cursing felt egregious at times and while based in Atlanta, it gave zero vibes correlated to that for me. Gina was my favorite character by far!
I don’t even know how I ended up reading this book — I just stumbled across it on Goodreads — but OMG I’m so glad I did. I finished this in basically one sitting. No breaks except the bathroom. That’s how locked in I was.
This story is graphic, chaotic, dramatic, and intense… but in the BEST way. Brick & Storm know how to grab you by the throat and not let go. Every time I thought I knew where the plot was going, something else happened that had me sitting there like, “Wait… WHAT?!”
And I HAVE to shout out Paula Jai Parker, who narrates the audiobook. I recognized her voice instantly and she absolutely kills it. Her performance makes every scene hit even harder. It honestly felt like watching a movie in my head.
I’m not giving spoilers because the surprises are half the fun, but just know this: If you like fast-paced, messy, emotional, edge-of-your-seat storytelling? This book is WORTH your time. I’m already diving into Volume 2 because the way this one ended?? Yeah… it’s about to get crazy.
This book is different than what I normally read and was recommended by a friend. I was skeptical, but it kept me wanting to know what was next. Drama, betrayal, death, honor, loyalty, deceit.. this book has it all. And just when I thought no more could happen the ending hit me with more twists. Might as well buckle in and get the next book. I have to know what’s going to happen next.
Hood Misfits wasn’t too bad. Anti’s schemes and keep the pages turning. But I’m not gonna sugarcoat it, the chaos felt overcooked. Characters like Angel got lost (backstory? what backstory?), and the plot leans too much on shock value. It’s all spice, no savory. Still, if you’re starving for raw drama, it’ll fill the plate… just don’t expect a full course meal. I’m still hungry.
This wasn’t for me. I love a urban fiction/street lit book. But this one has the most thrown together plot, the “romance” was just tossed in there at the end. I don’t feel like we Learned enough about the characters to actually care about them at all. I most definitely will not be continuing
Fast paced, and gritty read. Ray-Ray, Trigga, and the ENGA crew take you on a wild ride in the A. Every Nigga Gotta Agenda, but who's will be fulfilled? Definite page-turner!!
Story flowed well. Much better than I expected, more violent than I expected. It's difficult to relate, but I'm able to empathize with their trauma. On to the second. installment.
