Trust Betrayed
One of the clearest and most concise contemporary historical and political history of events I've read. Firm, steady, comprehensive leadership in America is severely diminished by America's leading power and his/her political and ideological self service. And that's putting it diplomatically. We're in trouble and have no one available to take control. Obama clearly doesn't want to and clearly doesn't know how. Thank you Scott Taylor for descriptive and analytical information! I also appreciate that you are not plaintive and whiney. The facts are clear, and you laid them out succinctly in a brief book. You have my vote if you ever decide to run!

Trust Betrayed – Selling out America’s National Security – Scott Taylor – Completed 03/27/2023

It is so disgusting when you think of the corruption at the highest levels of our government. Obama and Sec of State Clinton are directly responsible for the killings of 4 CIA employees including the Ambassador in Benghazi, Libya. With the increasing turmoil leading up to the attack on Sept 11, 2012 was the reason why diplomatic security had been asking for more security. The clueless crusader Obama and Clinton made the decision to lie low in Benghazi, meaning low to little security changes. This could have been prevented if the requests were acted upon.
So how did it get this way? Well the arrogant, pompous American Asshole President Obama failed to look beyond his personal beliefs as a Muslim rather than as an American. He totally misunderstood how to deal with Egypt and Israel, damaging relations with both countries. He still thinks he is the smartest around. Meanwhile SOS Clinton is still suppressing women’s human rights by agreeing with the Muslim Brotherhood.
Our founding fathers gave the Senate the power to ratify treaties and the Congress a role in declaring war. Decisions made by one president, or any single individual, will be more likely to be a bad one.
The worst (and most famous) statements made by these two individuals are SOS Clinton testifying before Senate “What difference does it make?” when she was pressed under questioning of the 4 killed during the Benghazi attack. Obama caught on an open microphone talking with current Russian President Dmitry Medvedev “tell (incoming president) Putin I will have more flexibility after the election” in regarding the missile defense systems in Europe. If they were placed, it might have prevented Russia invading Ukraine. These 2 individuals did nothing by make concessions for the American people.

Scott Taylor's book, 'Trust Betrayed' brings an interesting perspective into the current conditions between the Middle East and the Obama Administration. Taylor's draw is the fact that he was a Navy SEAL. He's lived, breathed and almost died a Navy SEAL and to that point he describes just how important intelligence is to the troops on the ground.
Some Americans do forget that while we would like to know all of the inner workings of a mission and now everything unfolds, we also need to consider it from the perspective of future operations. Taylor does a brilliant job of telling the reader to 'use common sense'.
From here he dives into the politics of the Obama Administration and how Obama, whenever politically convenient would exploit victories for his own gain and whenever it is not convenient, he's nowhere to be found or he exacerbates the situation.
Taylor gives a well thought out update on the Middle East, with regards to Libya, Egypt, Iraq and Iran, Israel, among others. He points out the foreign policies that this administration has pursued and the backlash it has created in alienating leaders (ie Israel's Netanyahu and Egypt's al-Sisi) who are pursuing a plan of Democracy while safeguarding their own nation from terrorist threats.
Overall - Taylor ties it all back to National Security. As he points out in the book, our military presence in the Middle East isn't just about fighting terrorism and upholding peace, but also maintaining our future interests and to continue to remain the Superpower that we are.

Taylor makes his point well about the need for secrecy and the damage the Obama administration has done by going public with facts and details about certain key military ops. That said, the book does contain some factual errors (easily verifiable) that detract from the book's overall persuasiveness. Unfortunately these errors leave Taylor looking like less of an authority on the subject than he actually is. In future works, or perhaps a revised edition of this book, I hope Taylor will work closely with a good editor and provide detailed footnotes wherever possible to support his points. His message is so important, it is worth doing it right.
