One broken heart, one drink too many, one steamy night in the sand...

No one warns you about the dangers of drinking with a broken heart. At least no one warned me. I never imagined I'd fall for a musician, especially not one like Chase, but then again I never expected to have my heart broken into a million pieces by the frat guy I thought was the love of my life.

Sometimes it's the rash decisions, like hooking up in the sand, that lead you to the best places—the kinds of places where it's possible to let yourself fall in love again

“One broken heart, one drink too many, one steamy night in the sand...”

And so the story went. Cara Wentworth went on a drinking spree one night, when her friend forced her to stop mopping and come out for a night party. What she did not expect was how epic the night would turn out. She wasn’t expecting to meet anyone significant so what she did was drink and mop some more at a corner, only to find out that it was already occupied. Not just by anyone, but by a hot and hunky guy who’s rocking his blazers.

She wasn’t expecting company, but was forced to have a conversation with the hot guy. And because she was a tad bit tipsy, or should I say, drunk, she gave in to the oozing physical attraction to the guy. Cara does not do one-night stand, but because she was mending a broken heart, why not try to give in, enjoy the night and forget who she is.

But the problem is, she can’t stop thinking about the guy even after how many months had passed.

Chase Denton is that guy. He happened to be the lead singer of the Chance of a Lifetime Band who just recently signed a record deal with a famous musical label. Well, I must say that he definitely belongs to the swoon worthy type of guys. And all throughout the story, I fell just a little bit deeper every time he talks. Urgh. He’s every woman’s dream guy. He sings. He’s a conversationalist. He’s a one-woman type of guy. And he loves deeply. He’s too good to be true sometimes that it’s hard to believe if someone like him can exist in real life.

Little did they know that a chance encounter will bring them again together. Chase calls it fate. Cara calls it coincidence. What’s more embarrassing is that her, being the inspiration in the new song of the band, Sex on the Beach. Talk about Hazards of Sex on the beach. LOL!

“I guess that’s the thing about people. We always assume their true personality is the one they show you, but sometimes all it takes is moving them to a new situation and a whole new side comes out.”

They may have lived up to what people have expected of them, but that chance encounter on the beach definitely said a lot about their personality. Cara may deflect it all she wants, but she was affected as much as Chase was. Them being together, brought out new sides to their characters – a more playful Cara and a funnier, sexier, and wittier Chase.

“Sometimes it’s the risks we take that lead us to exactly the place we need to be.”

Chase, 25, and Cara, 19 took a risk of starting a relationship. And it was that risk that brought them to a happier place. Lesser stress, more contentment. I just LOVE Chase. Seriously. I love how he always assure Cara of his love for her, his openness for communication when things are not that smooth, how he wants her to experience college life, how he doesn’t control her and how supportive he is of what she does, how he makes it a point to see her once in a while even though he has a very busy schedule. I especially loved that part when he drove how many hours just to see her. It just shows how much he loved her. I guess their age gap helped a lot. If Chase was younger, it would be more difficult to maintain their relationship.

Overall, Hazards of Sex on the Beach was a really fun book to read. The last time I smiled and laughed a lot was when I read Play by Kylie Scott. It was a feel good story. Nothing too serious. It made me giddy and I can’t help but sigh every time I think of Chase. I wish I have my own Chase too.

After a nasty breakup, Cara is out with a friend at a party. She already had a few drinks when she meets him - Mister Sexy and Mysterious. They hook up for a steamy one night stand and have sex on the beach - literally. And even though the sex was amazing, Cara just kiss him goodbye and decline giving him her number. It's just a one night stand, right?

Weeks later, Cara is thinking about the cute guy when she is asked to attend a concert of a local band with a friend. As it turns out - the lead singer of the band is Mr One Night Stand - Chase Denton and he has written a song about their night together. First she is embarrassed but it turns out that Chase hasn't forgotten her either and is pleading to give him a chance. Is she really willing to risk her heart again after the betrayal of her last boyfriend - and with a kind of famous singer?

I loved the story and I loved the people there. I was a bit irritated with some things though. Was it just me or was Cara's professor a bit creepy with his attention? And what happened to Jimmy? I was waiting for him to pop up any time after his creepy stalking comment at the festival but he wasn't mentioned again ever after. However, the love story was very sweet and I was a bit sad when I finished the book. I did not read the other books in this series about Cara's friends Mallory and Juliet but since I got to know about their love lives in this book I think I don't want to read them now. Maybe I read Kyle and Jade's story. They were both interesting characters and maybe I get so see a glimpse into Cara's future with Chase in their book.

*Sighs* Chase I loved you, "I worked on his belt and unbuttoned his jeans. He grinned. "You think I'm letting you take that out in the cold?" I love that he'll do anything for his girl, "he brushed his lips against my ear sending a thrill through me. "I want to make you happy tonight, Cara. If making you happy involved ordering chocolate chip pancakes, I'm doing it." He also has no problems in telling her what he likes, "listen, I don't know who you've date before, but if I tell you I like something, I like it. And just to make it even easier, I like when you touch me. So, you really can't go wrong as long as your hands, or other body parts are on me." His girl does things to him and I loved their relationship, "damn, you're going to kill me. How the hell am I supposed to go to a show with a tent in my pants?" I'm hoping Kyle gets his book next you really fall for all the characters in this series and want the best for them.

I've had more thrilling reads from Alyssa in the Empire Chronicles, Flight Chronicles and Mixology series. This series however was only interesting at the first two prequels. The rest leave much to be desired.

The Hazards of Sex on the Beach is the third book in Alyssa Rose Ivy's Hazards series, but can easily be read as a standalone. This book has interconnected characters, and it was nice to get to see some familiar characters. I have to say that this book was my favorite book of Alyssa's to date, and I thought that it was really good. I think part of why I liked this one so much was because of Chase. He was fantastic, and is definitely worth reading about.

After finding out that her boyfriend had been cheating on her with his ex, Cara's friend drags her to a party to try and help her move on. She ends up having a bit too much to drink and hooking up with a hot stranger on the beach. When he tries to get her number, she quickly leaves before he has a chance to find anything out about her. After thinking about him constantly and deciding that she made a mistake, she ends up going to a concert with her friend Jade. Cara is surprised to find that her one night stand Chase is actually the lead singer of the band. Chase sees Cara and isn't about to let her run away so easily this time. With Chase being on the road constantly with the band and Cara's trust issues, can they possibly have a chance at a relationship together?

I really liked Chase. He was so sweet and he was a really great guy. The whole book Cara kept questioning if he was too good to be true, and I have to admit I was kind of doing the same thing. But he really was that great, and he proved it again and again. I liked seeing how he did whatever he could to show Cara that he wanted only her and that he was determined to make things work with her. He made a difficult situation easier to handle, and I loved how understanding he was. Cara had been hurt and betrayed, and because of that she had some issues with trust and felt a bit insecure. I liked that she was open with Chase though, and she was able to let him in. Chase was exactly what she needed and it was really good to see her moving on with her life. I also liked seeing her find something that she enjoyed doing and the fact that Chase supported her and did what he could to help her made me like him that much more. I thought that Chase and Care had really great chemistry together and things were always steamy between them. But you could also see the emotions and feelings developing between them, and I loved watching them fall for one another.

Overall, this was a great addition to this series and was my favorite so far. This series just seems to keep getting better, and I really love the characters. It is nice to get to know new characters, but also catch glimpses of the ones from previous books. I like that they are always different and unique, and that they seem so real. Chase was definitely one of my favorites I have read of Alyssa's, and is also on of my favorite book boyfriends that I have ever read before. I loved seeing him win Cara over, and his songs for her were so sweet. I loved seeing him put his feelings out there for the whole world to see and that he wasn't ashamed of how he felt about her. I highly recommend checking out Alyssa Rose Ivy's books if you haven't read any before, but honestly this one is a must read for me. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next, and I look forward to reading more from her.

Here’s something I’ve never done, despite growing up five minutes from the water – had sex on the beach. I’ve had the drink (probably more than I should have, I’m afraid) but the idea of all that sand, in all the wrong places.... No, just no. I don’t even like sand on my FEET! And yet, after reading this book, I’m starting to wonder if maybe I‘m missing out on something. It sure sounded sexy when Cara and Chase were doing it. And if it comes with a happy ending?!? Well then, maybe it’s time to reconsider....

Cara Winters didn’t expect to have her heart broken by the man she thought was the love of her life. One night spent downing one too many drinks led her to something else she didn’t expect....The hottest sex of her life. On the beach. With a guy she’d just met. Whose last name she didn’t even know. Her crazy impulse comes back to her in the form of hot musician, Chase Denton. Not her type, not who she expected to fall for and certainly not someone she thought she’d ever see again. But sometimes throwing caution to the wind leads you down a new path...one where the unexpected becomes the desirable and the thought of falling in love again is not so scary.

The Hazards of Sex on the Beach was as fun as the title implies – as in, it was a whole lotta fun. The characters were charming and perfect for each other. I enjoyed their back-and-forth banter, witnessing the growth of their long distance love. Perhaps at times there was too little tension – the HEA was never in doubt, because Cara and Chase were almost too perfect – but after reading several darker books, this made for a nice change.

Chase was not your typical rockstar hero. He was a rock-steady rockstar – one that could only exist in the book-verse. Thank goodness he does exist there though, because he was a pleasure to spend a few hours with. I loved his joking fascination with Cara’s sorority and her sisters – it reminded me of the teen rom-coms that I loved to watch in high school. I enjoyed his relationship with his band and brothers. And his alpha-possessive-protectiveness towards Cara was lovely. There was one particular thread in the story – an unwanted love interest for Cara – that seemed to peter off with minimal resolution, which made me wonder if perhaps it was something we might see again in future books.

Not having read the previous books in this series, there were moments when I wondered what I had missed, but a little online research and stretching of the brain muscles took care of that easily. I was able to follow along and enjoy all of the secondary characters whose own HEA’s were previously published, as well as the ones I’d like to see on my kindle in the future. Cara, Chase and company are the kinds of characters that you smile along with, that you love to see in love and that make reading such a delightful way to pass time. All-in-all, The Hazards of Sex on the Beach is a sweet love story that’s the perfect beach read...if you’re not busy *ahem* you know in the sand.

The Hazards of Sex on the Beach is the third story in the Hazards series and can be read as a standalone. No cliffhanger.

I have said it before, and I will say it again...I love Alyssa Rose Ivy. She is one of those authors that I know is so consistently good, that I can pick up any of her books and I will enjoy them. I love her hazards series, and this third book, The Hazards of Sex on the Beach is no different. It is fun, romantic, and an all around great read. I love that the series follows a group of friends. The Hazards of Sex on the Beach is Cara's story.

The book starts out much like all the books in the Hazards series do, with the very act that the title says. There is something comforting in that. I pick up the book, knowing how it will start and then I get to enjoy the ride from there. Cara just  broke up with her jerk of an ex boyfriend after she found out that she was cheating on her basically during their whole relationship. Can you believe that? She is at a party and she meets Chase, and after a few drinks they end up on the beach. We late find out that this night was pretty uncharacteristic of both of them. Cara basically runs away after without giving her number or last name.

I loved when she ran into Chase a few weeks later at a show. It was so cute how he wouldn't even let her out of his sight because he was scared she was going to run again. And it was there that there romance really started. I loved Cara and Chase. Chase is such an awesome guy. And while Cara obviously has some very fresh trust issues, she really does try her best. Chase is off on tour, and honestly I think it was perfect for Cara because she got a chance to explore some new things at college. I liked watching Cara hang out with new people and get involved in new things almost as much as I loved the romance between her and Chase. I loved what Cara ended up doing! I thought it was such a cool idea. And their time apart really allowed them to talk and videochat and get to know each other well.

Each of the books in the Hazard series are sexy fun with a rockin' romance. All of the guys are swoonworthy, and we get to check in on the past couples as well. Each book can be read as a standalone but I love Juliet and Reed, and Mallory and Colton so much that I would suggest reading them all. The girls are all sorority sisters and they are all such great friends. I can't wait to see who the next book is about. My vote is for it to be about Jane. She is just a sweetheart.

Love love love Chase - that is all ;) Or until the review is written LOL

In the third installment of this fabulous series, it’s the turn of Cara to take centre stage. We’ve encountered Cara in both of the previous books as the third roommate and best friend of Juliet and Mallory. Cara has always come across as the quintessential sorority girl – a bit like Barbie on speed ;) She’s been going steady with Aaron since starting college. Always doing what other people expect of her especially where Aaron is concerned that the shock of his betrayal cuts deep with Cara. Not only does she lose the boy that she thought she was going to spend forever with but she really doesn’t know who she is. Aaron is a complete and utter d-bag, I am so glad that Juliet hit him where it hurt because that is exactly what I wanted to do to the b*****d.

Cara in a moment of rebellion does something completely out of character and has a random hook-up at a party on the beach, leaving straight after without giving her name. Destiny has other plans for her though. No longer fitting into the social life she previously relied on, Cara steps out of her comfort zone by going to an indie concert with another sorority girl, Jade (also mentioned in the previous books). Jade has a spot on the college radio and enlists Cara as her wing-woman when interviewing bands. As fate would have it the mysterious hook-up just happens to be a member of an up and coming band at the concert Jade and Cara attend.

I think I’ve read too many books with angst in them because I was just waiting for the other shoe to drop with Chase rather than just accepting him for who he was. Probably exaggerated by Cara’s need to remain distant due to the hurt she suffered with Aaron. Chase proves that stereotypes are a way for other people to justify their thoughts and actions. Chase is not your typical rocker in the slightest; blending hot geek with musical genius wrapped in sensitivity and caring. He really is the total package.

Although long distance relationships are very difficult, the time apart allowed Cara to discover her own likes and dislikes in a way she has never been able to before. Chase brings out the confident woman who was lurking under the insecure surface. The hotness scale in this book has certainly been upped to volcanic proportions, the limited time together means fireworks erupt when the opportunity presents itself.

Alyssa beautifully weaves the idea of identity into the narrative, especially the fact that we are constantly changing and evolving based on life experience. Alongside the saying ‘everthing happens for a reason leasing you to where you should be not where you think you should be’.

The Hazards of Sex on the Beach provides a stunning conclusion to the series – although I would love to see a novella/novellas of the characters 10 years down the line. It would be a fabulous way to expand the connection already established to the wonderful characters Alyssa has created.

I’ve been in a reading slump since the month began, and unfortunately this book is a victim of that. Not to say that I didn’t enjoy it, because I did. But I would have liked it way better had I read it at another time. The Hazards of Sex on the Beach is funny, romantic, and light. A great summer read. It follows Cara, the third best friend out of the Juliet-Mallory-Cara trio.

In the previous books, Cara has had a boyfriend, Aaron. They’d been dating over a year, but are now broken up on account of Cara finding out about Aaron cheating on her with his ex. So Cara’s pissed off, and makes a rash decision to sleep with a guy she meets at a party. And she then runs off without even telling him her name. The last thing she expects is to see him again, least of all on stage singing at a concert her friend drags her to. Cara and Chase meet again, and this time he isn’t going to let her go.

I liked getting to know Cara, and she seems like an even better person away from Aaron. She’s smart, though of course there are lapses in judgment. She’s had her heart broken, and she’s built a wall around it now – a wall that Chase slowly breaks down. She did annoy me at times, mostly when she’d made up her mind that Chase would eventually leave her. He’d been doing so much for her, and it pissed me off that she was in so much denial.

Chase was just awesome, though. I love musicians, so of course I instantly loved him. He’s charming and sweet and I loved how he never gives up on Cara, ever. They’re incredible together!

I also loved seeing old characters again. We get to see quite a bit of Juliet and Mallory, and even Reed! Not too much of Colton, though. We meet Jade, Mallory’s little sister, and I really liked her. She’s really into music, and just so likeable. I hope we get a story about her soon!

What I didn’t like was seeing how Aaron was in this book. In the previous books, he and Cara are like the perfect couple, and he’s always seemed like a nice guy. In this, he’s creepy, mean, and desperate. I didn’t like the drastic change in personality, and I didn’t get the point. Sure, Cara is with Chase now but Aaron could still be Aaron, right?

And there aren’t just these two guys vying for Cara’s affections. No, there’s another too! This guy, Jimmy, is also in a band, and he’s way creepy. Like seriously creepy. And he has a thing for Cara. But the issues with him, and with Aaron, aren’t completely resolved by the end of the book. I thought they should be, but the book felt like it ended too early for me.

Anyway, I did enjoy reading this and I like how light this NA series is. Most NA contemporaries have way too many issues. This one’s a fun read! Can’t go wrong with college romance.

The Hazards of Sex on the Beach is the third installment in the Hazards series. Cara thought she had found the one only to find out he had been cheating on her with his ex. With school about to start back from winter break she heads to a party with her friend. She never expected to go out of her comfort zone and have sex on the beach, but quickly makes a run for it. While it was supposed to be just one moment she can’t stop thinking about the stranger in the sand. After returning back to school she attempts to avoid her ex even agreeing to go with one of her sorority girls to a concert.

The last person she expects to see is the guy from the beach who she can’t get out of her mind. Chase hasn’t forgotten about Cara either and he’s even written a song about her as she’s his new muse. When he at the concert while performing he is determined to see her again. Even learning that she had no idea he was in a popular band. Cara isn’t looking for anything but Chase is hard to forget and the two embark on a whirlwind long distance relationship. Will to pair be able to handle the challenges of a long distance relationship?

I wasn’t sure how I felt about Cara in the prior books in the series but maybe it’s because she didn’t have her own voice. Now that I’ve had the chance to really get to know Cara she may just be my favorite. I found her to remind me of myself, and I even had the crazy whirlwind long distance relationship too just not the beach part. I loved the chemistry between Cara and Chase they are exactly what the other needs finding love outside of their comfort zones. I love that we have the added bonus of getting to so many of the past characters and I’m curious who gets their happy ever after next.

I honestly picked this one up after reading the first one but haven’t found the time with so many books to read. I had no idea who the book was about when I started but I was surprised to see we are getting Cara’s story but the more I learned about Aaron I’m glad she ended it with him to find Chase. I like that this book had a long distance relationship that both parties had been committed to seeing it work it’s becoming more common in this day and age to see relationships using video chat. I enjoyed every moment of Cara’s story I was captivated right from the start hard to put down. The author has created another beautifully written installment in the Hazards series. I’m anxiously looking forward to the next book in the series can’t wait to see who will find their other half.

After her ex cheated on her Cara is nursing her broken hear with the help of her friends and a bit of alcohol. She still couldn't believe what he'd done to her, the jerk. After a little coaxing with the help of a few drinks, she decides to do something she normally would have never considered, a hot one-night stand. Now all she has to do is find the perfect guy. She finds "the perfect hottie," whose name happens to be Chase, and they wind up having a heated encounter on the beach that was the best sex either of them had ever had in their lives. Cara decides she wants to leave the memory perfect, so she quickly exits the scene afterwards, with nothing more than a first name exchanged between them. The problem is, she can't get the hottie in the blazer and the things he does to her out of her mind. When a night out with on her friends brings Chase into her path again, she finds out not only his last name, but that he's kind of famous...the lead singer and rising star in a band. Talk about complicated. When Chase finally finds Cara again, he is determined not to let her run away again, but will the pressures of fame, long-distance relationships, and past hurts be more than Cara and Chase can overcome?

The Hazards of Sex on the Beach is the the third book in The Hazards Series, and is a companion novel that can be read as a standalone, though you do get to see the characters from the previous two novels, which I enjoyed very much. Chase is the new guy in the series and I totally loved him. He's nothing like you'd expect, and is exactly what Cara needs. Cara really comes out of her shell in this novel. She has been wounded and her self-esteem is really low, something that Chase is determined to help her overcome. As their romance intensifies, this sorority girl and hot musician who seem to be totally opposite have a lot to overcome, but they also have a lot of fun and hot times in the process, but when situations arise that throw the past back in Cara's face she must decide if she is going to turn and run again, or face it head on.

The Hazards of Sex on the Beach is a fun, sexy little novel that is the perfect summer beach read. It is romantic, engaging, and will just make you feel good as you read about these characters, their relationship, and all that happens in the process. Alyssa Rose Ivy is one of my favorite authors and true to form, she has provided her fans with another great read.

This has to be my favorite book in the Hazards series. I was giddy with excitement whil reading this book. That is how good it was! Even though this is a series, it can be read as a stand alone. I love this series so I recommend you read them all.

Chase and Cara meet at a party. They both had some drinks and flirt with each other. Cara is not looking for anything with anyone. She is just having some fun. After being in a long term relationship, and finding out you ex is cheating on you, Cara is kinda messed up.

When flirting leads Cara to become bold and the next think you know Cara and Chase have sex on the beach (not the drink either!). Chase asks Cara for her number and to see each other after their time together, Cara says no, give him a kiss and walks away. It is not like Cara to do anything like this. She has only slept with one other guy.

Now back at college, things are different. She is avoiding her ex, which means less time with her friends, since they all date his friends. Now Cara has to spread her wings and become the person she wants to be all on her own. When a fellow sorority sister invites her to a concert, Cara decides to go. Best decision ever.

The concert is a band with the lead singer is none other than Chance. Call it fate, call it destiny, whatever it is, the stars have aligned for Chance and Cara to come together again. Both have been thinking about the other one. Chase is so touched by the time him and Cara spent together, he wrote a song about it. And now Chase won't make the same mistake twice. He is not letting Cara go again.

Cara is not wanting to jump into another relationship, especially with a semi rock star who travels all the time and has groupies. Chance is trying to win her over with whatever it takes.

I loved this story. It was hot and steamy and cute and enduring all at the same time. I thought it was great how Cara found herself while she at school without being with a man. She came into her own, with the her friends, not her boyfriend. Chance was a great boyfriend and only helped Cara come into her own with his support.

“And I promise this isn’t the last you’re going to see of me, Cara. Run all you want, I’ll keep finding you.”
**

One night of feeling sorry for herself after her boyfriend dumps her, a friend drags Cara to a house party on the beach. Soon one thing leads to another and Cara finds herself sleeping with someone she just met a couple hours and a few beers ago. On the beach no less! Expecting never to see him again, Cara is surprised when she runs into him at a concert. A relationship sparks up and Cara is learning the hard way if absence really does make the heart grow fonder.

Absolutely loved this book. Gah! I sound like a broken record. I must. Because I believe I say that about each and every thing that Ivy writes. I can't help it though. It is true. She is a genius with a pen (or computer) and it shows in her books. It shows in the romance splayed out before us. It shows in the smitten as a kitten face I sport every time I read one of her books!

Each time I start one of these Hazard books I feel as if I have known the character this whole time, when in fact we are truly just getting to know them. And Cara was no different. Sure we have seen her in bits and pieces in the past couple books, but we are finally in her head and finding out who she really is. And I gotta say...I just adore her. And I adored Chase too. Boy did I! He was charming and sweet and absolutely sexy. Just wait until you find out what he does for a living. You all are going to love him too! I just know it!

I loved the romance between Cara and Chase. Yes I did! So much happens between them that you know they have this amazing and fantastic chemistry. There is no denying it what so ever. I wanted to melt into the pages just to have some of it rub off on me. I am so in love with these two and was sad when the book was over. I could have happily read and read and read about them.

But seriously, I am very happy with the ending and cannot wait to see what Ivy has planned for us next in this series! Another must read! 5 Sexy and Swoony Stars!

After a break up caused by her cheating boyfriend, Cara’s friends take her to a party to help her get over her broken heart. One drink leads to another and Cara ends up flirting with a gorgeous stranger. And that’s not all. Wanting to put her past boyfriend behind her, she has sex with him on the beach and leaves without giving him any way to get in touch with her.

When Cara returns to college, she knows it’s going to be tough. Her best friends are dating men from the same fraternity as her ex, and her ex is under the delusion that he can have her back. Her whole life has changed, and she handles it pretty well. Then Jade takes her to a club to see a band perform, and her almost anonymous hookup on the beach isn’t so anonymous anymore. He’s the lead singer in the band they’ve gone to see.

Once they are together, Cara and Chase find that the attraction they felt for each other on that first night hasn’t gone away, and in spite of his touring with the band, decide to try to make a go of a long distance relationship. Of course, there are complications, mainly from Cara’s ex and a stalker-creep from another band, and some questions about Chase’s feelings for his ex-girlfriend. .

There’s more fun than drama here though. I loved how Cara finds her place on campus now that she’s no longer dating a fraternity brother. I really like this series for the lightness of it all. The drama isnt too intense and things work out with a little bit of effort. My biggest complaint is that I didn’t really feel that I got to know Chase all that well in this, since he’s off touring for most of the book.

If you are looking for a relatively light, easy read with a little drama to spice it up, this might be for you.

The Hazards of Sex on the Beach is seriously my favorite out of all the Hazards series so far, and I really loved The Hazards of a One Night Stand. Cara’s story really explores finding yourself after a bad breakup, and I love that Cara stepped out of her comfort zone to do exactly that. There is something magnetic about the way Alyssa Rose Ivy writes her New Adult romances, because it is as if I am attached by some invisible force until I finish the story.

Cara is reeling from a bad breakup and she is dreading going back to school and facing her ex-boyfriend. While drowning her broken heart, she decides to do something out of character, and has a one-night stand with Chase. This is where Cara really begins to distance herself from her previous life and relationship, and start to discover her own passions again. Chase is really a great influence on Cara, and I like him in The Hazards of Sex on the Beach, and his effect on Cara.

I love the musical tone of this book versus previous books, and I liked experiencing Cara discover her new talents. If I had to pick between Aaron and Chase, it would obviously be Chase, and I think that The Hazards of a One Night Stand also address a tough topic in the midst of the beauty of the Cara’s story. As a huge fan of Alyssa Rose Ivy, I loved the way she handled this topic and I loved that it was a realistic portrayal.

I have yet to read something by Alyssa Rose Ivy that I did not immediately love, and I cannot wait to see what she has next up her sleeve. Seriously, she produces some of the most magnificent story and across a variety of genre and each has its own separate tone so they stand out on their own. This is a great book that can be read as a standalone, and I highly recommend it and anything else Alyssa Rose Ivy has ever written.

Wow I can't believe I finished this book in one day. Sex on the Beach was a very cute, romantic story and also a little different from the previous two which made this good for the series. Unlike the other books, the main guy, Chase, doesn't go to the same college. He ends up being a touring musician that happened to be at the same party as Cara which was their first meeting and also their first hookup. Cara has been heartbroken over her long term boyfriend, Aaron, for cheating on her for their whole relationship and decided to make a bold decision and get with Chase and then leave. Not knowing his true identity, these two meet again when Cara and Jade happen to be at one of his concerts. This starts a very cute long distance relationship despite Cara having bad feelings about potentially getting hurt again.

More than this being romance and finding your One, Sex on the Beach was more about finding yourself. After Cara became single and even after being in a relationship with Chase, she realized how much time she spent with Aaron and how much of her college life revolved around him. This got Cara to find more hobbies to get into which led to her being on a music radio show with Jade interviewing local bands. She also got to make more true friends and spend more time with them. I really loved the message of finding yourself even when your in a relationship with someone else. Cara and Chase together were a really sweet couple. Talking all the time when they couldn't be together and also being honest when hard issues came up. Each book in the Hazards series has been great with giving us amazing characters and at the same time exploring different issues and messages. I absolutely love this series and I very much look forward to the next one.

Another enjoyable steamy read from Alyssa Rose Ivy. Her books are full of hilarious dialogues and fun moments I can't help but smile nonstop when I'm reading. I especially love the Hazards series because of the feel every character brings to the story. You never get tired of them.

I honestly didn't want this book to be about Cara because that would mean her and Aaron didn't work out. They were great together in the first two books :( Too bad he turned out to be such a huge douchebag.

I hated seeing how vulnerable and doubtful Cara became after the break up. Her boldness to have sex on the beach with a stranger was dangerous but exhilarating. I think she deserved to have a little fun and let loose. So good for her for taking that chance that led her to land such a dreamy guy.

Chase. He was definitely too good to be true. He was too nice, too understanding, too perfect and too everything to be a real person. Seriously, where can I find myself a Chase?

Can I just say, Jimmy is so creepy! Is he seriously overconfident or just super weird? I can't figure it out. I thought there would be an explanation to his attitude but I guess not in this book. I have a feeling that he's being set up for a story though. Like Adam and Jade seem to be too. I can't help but want to guess that they might be the next couple? Would that be too obvious?

I'm really loving how the titles relate to the story in each book. I look forward to reading the next books in this series because I just can't get enough of the Delta Mu girls and the guys in their lives!

I really like Alyssa Rose Ivy, I think that everything I have read by her I have loved. She has a way with characters that make them seem so real and that you could befriend them as the reader. I love it. This is the third book in the Hazards series, although each of them has difference characters and stories so they can be read separately and in any order you want.

Hazards of Sex on the Beach was an emotional tale about a college age girl getting over a cheating boyfriend – and in doing so decides to have a fling on the beach. Little does she know that the guy will show up in her life again and turn everything crazy.

This is a ‘New Adult’ book so there was a good amount of sexual content and it is not intended for younger readers, but it was done fairly tastefully and since it was not overly raunchy, I enjoyed it.

Cara is the main character and she is going through a lot. She has been with they same guy all throughout her freshman year of college only to find out that has been cheating on her the whole time. Now she has to figure out he life – she has spent so much time with him that she doesn’t really have a life of her own, only ‘their’ life and she is having a hard time of it. She meets a random guy at a party and they have a wonderful night on the beach and she decides to just leave – no strings, a little fun and done. Only he shows up in her college town and she realizes that it must be fate because he still seems interested and she is too.

This was a fun story, I liked Cara and her friends and I loved the romance – it was quirky and laugh-out-loud funny at times. The character building Alyssa uses is wonderful and I love this series.

“You’ll have fun tonight.” She nudged me. “If you liked him enough to sleep with him, in theory you should enjoy an actual date with him.”
“This isn’t a date.”
“The guy asked you to go and get food. You’ve already had sex. It’s a date.”

This book was pretty amazing. I loved every second of it and laughed through most of it. There was a lot of humor and romance and sweetness, oh and did I mention definitely multiple swoon worthy minutes. I have read a few of Alyssa’s books but I have not read any of the Hazards books. But if they are anything like this one I will definitely pick them up. I love the idea that people can’t run from fate or that there really is the one person that you keep getting pushed to no matter how hard you fight it. Cara has recently broken up with the frat guy she has been with for almost two years. She has a broken heart so her friends take her to a house party to get her mind off of the a-hole. She meets a guy in a blazer and they get it on in the sand. When it is over she walks away. Doesn’t give her number or her last name. She never expects to see him again.

The Hazards Series has been one hot ride of sex, passion and unexpected love. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know each of the characters, especially the trio of Juliet, Mallory and Cara. I was excited to read Cara’s story because for most of the series she’s been with her shadow, Aaron, and I honestly didn’t think anything could happen to them. But Aaron was a douche bag and he proved that more than once throughout this story.
The love story in this book seemed to be a bit more relaxed and casual that in the first two books, and even though is started off with a bang – quite literally – it simmered down a bit and Cara and Chase were able to learn more about each other and to show the reader exactly why they were a sweet couple. Of course they had their fair share of hurdles to overcome, what with Chase being on tour and Cara at college, and then there were the few run-ins with Aaron and weirdo Jimmy. Unfortunately Cara had been burned and it wasn’t easy for her to trust, which became a bit of an issue, even though it shouldn’t have.
I liked that Chase was so different from the other guys in this series. I also liked that once again, Cara, very much like her roomies showed Sorority girls have a lot more going on than just their looks.
This was a fun, quick read, but I did feel there were a few loose ends that needed tying up. Other than that, it was great.

The Hazards Series is written for readers 18 years of age and up. *New Adult* genre. This is Book 3 of 5. As with the rest of the series, this book is written about friends/sorority sisters at Harrison College in Charleston, SC.

“One broken heart, one drink too many, one steamy night in the sand…” Cara is devastated and humiliated by the end of her relationship with Aaron. After one completely reckless night, she feels more empowered, and a little less devastated. Chase is slightly obsessed with finding Cara. He felt a spark between them that night on the beach. Would finding her mend both broken hearts, or would being together mean facing one too many obstacles?

One of the things I really like about this book is the thought and detail put into the character, and personality, of Aaron the Betrayer (this is the name I have given him). Author Alyssa Rose Ivy does a pretty good job characterizing narcissism and obsessive behavior. I wish she had gone a bit further though, thus recognizing the way that those types of people tend to escalate the actions surrounding the obsession and the steps necessary to ensure the safety of that obsession.

Of the Hazards books I have read so far, this one is my favorite. I like Cara and Chase. I love the writing style and plot devices. I enjoy learning more about the sisters of Delta Mu. This is a great read. 4.75 stars

Another quick awesome romance read in the Hazards series. The series is always guaranteed to be sweet, cute, and quick. The only thing that bothers me is that Alyssa has a tendency to get several pages into the book before stating the name of the girl narrating the story. It kinda gets annoying, even if I have the tendency to forget names.

Cara is learning how to be herself after spending her whole college life in a relationship. Even when she starts her relationship with Chase, she blooms into her own person. She starts a radio show called "Sleeping With Band" that centers around interviewing local bands. Cara becomes this shining person centered on discovering her interests. Her life no longer revolves around her ex-boyfriend. Instead of putting all her efforts into a relationship, she learns how to involve her boyfriend in her interests.

I can't wait to read more books about the girls in Cara's sorority. I'm feeling a potential for at least two more books, but we'll see. Romance novel lovers will love this series.

This is my first review for 2015. I hope you enjoy both the review and the book.
The full effect can be found here.

You have no idea how difficult it was for me to remember Cara's character. Like, I only put the pieces together after the 8th chapter. It happens. After Cara's finding out her boyfriend's been cheating on her throughout their whole relationship made her a tidy bitter about it. She's not looking for a relationship, but when she spots a good-looking guy on a blazer, Chase, she's lost. They hook up, she leaves, no phone number or names were exchanged.

Sometime later Cara is convinced to go on a show with Jade. Jade is Juliet little sister (sorority kind)... and surprise surprise, Chase is there. Singing. He's the lead singer to a band. And he is famous. After that night, Chase is head over heals in love with Cara. She even has a song about her. And Chase's eyes ain't leaving her anytime soon.

There will be some drama, some punchings, and friendships blossoming, and old relationships ending for good.
I have nothing left to say, except that this is a great series, one you should be reading if you enjoy the genre, and also, thank you for taking your time reading this review and see you all on the next book. :)

When Cara and Chase met, there may have been some alcohol involved. Okay, a lot of alcohol. And maybe Cara was still trying to get over a cheating ex that had broken her heart. Because, why else would she get frisky with a guy that she didn't know, hooking up and then running, without even telling him her last name or phone number? After all, she figured, she'd never see Chase again. If only life was that simple...

Alyssa Rose Ivy has done an entertaining job of taking this scenario and writing a story that shows how a chance encounter can turn into something much more. As the relationship between Cara and Chase grows and evolves, so do their characters. Cara finds strengths and interests that she didn't know she had, and both she and Chance find that the right relationship allows each person to grow and shine, rather than conform to someone else's idea of who they should be. I always enjoy Alyssa's writing, both the stories and the characters. Besides Cara and Chase, all of the supporting cast had great personalities, and I found myself laughing out loud at the interactions between Cara and her friends. I look forward so the next book in the series (Alyssa, if you're reading this, I'm hoping that Jade or Kyle will be next!).

This was a cute story about finding love. Cara is a nineteen year old college sorority student who has recently broken up with her boyfriend for cheating with his ex. Her friends talk her into going to a party where she meets a hot stranger named Chase. They talk for hours and end up having the best night ever of sex on the beach. But Cara runs afterwards without giving Chase her number when he asked. I'll admit, I wasn't liking Cara much at this point. Chase was a perfect gentlemen. He never pressured her and she was the one who pushed things further. Afterwards, she regrets not giving him her number. One night she agrees to go with a friend to see a concert and discovers that Chase is the lead singer. He won't let her run again and tries to get her to realize how much he wants to see her and discover where their relationship can go. There's a little ex drama, weird stalker drama and some long distance concerns.

I loved Chase! The guy was wonderful and had so much patience. Cara is naive and her lack of confidence is sometimes annoying. But overall, it was a sweet story with a happy ending.

Dear Reader,
Chase is hot, sweet, smart, in a band and he doesn't usually do one night stands. Cara is guarded and vows not to get into a relationship again any time soon, they just lead to heartbreak. One night, a beach and coincidence quickly send them on the path to romance. But can Cara let go of the past and will Chase be able to stop her from running away?
I'm noticing a theme with this series now that I'm 3 books in. These stories are well-written, sweet and simple. The characters at times can be almost too perfect and sickeningly sweet. I didn't fall in love with Chase and Cara the way that I did Colton and Mallory in The Hazards of a One Night Stand but their story was still cute. If you are looking for something full of angst and drama then this series is not for you. If you are looking for a sweet, easy read in between emotional reads then I say go for it!
Happy reading,
Jaime
