On her twenty-first birthday, Franki Smith receives a dozen black roses and an unsigned invitation to a nightclub. Two handwritten words near the top haunt her. "Little Bird." Her mother's nickname for her.
Only, Franki's mother disappeared without a trace exactly three years ago to the day.
And the nightclub doesn’t seem to exist.
Who sent the dark gift? Franki's need to answer this question leads her to the doorway of a strange and glamorous new world. A world her mother went to great lengths to keep hidden.
A world someone desperately wants Franki to discover, where forbidden romance and dangerous truths await.
Return to world of the bestselling Peachville High Demons series, this time from the viewpoint of a brand new, kickass heroine. (*You do NOT need to have read the original Peachville series to understand this one!)
Sacrifice Me is a serial new adult paranormal romance with twists and turns that will pull you in and keep you guessing until the last installment. There are six episodes total, each about 60-80 pages long. This is a box set of all 6 episodes. (About 120,000 words or the length of two full novels.)
Sex quotient: OK - a bit but not enough to be a commuter embarrassment. Soundtrack: https://youtu.be/97hp3adHaEk Black is the Colour (of my true love's hair)
To find more paranormal reads head to https://www.facebook.com/ParanormalBo... I have to confess to be a Sarra Cannon fan and this series is a spin-off from Peachville High Demons.
Plenty of great characters including the main pair of love bunnies to a couple of support characters that give a depth that guarantees to even out the distinction in personalities. Our love interest is a sexy bloke who owns a nightclub - ever heard that in a book setting before? Yep, of course we have, but the story and writing are good enough to ease the generic flavour.
There is further work still coming out from Sarra Cannon that continues on with the theme and some of the characters in these series, and I'm looking forward to more.
This was patchy. There was chapters repition same patter, there was some things seemed unlogical. It was like author has put couple different novellas together without editing wholeness. I wouldn't recommend this as a stand alone. If you are reading Shadow Demon Saga, then you can read this after book 6.
Later parts for this little serie are bit better than this first one.
Sacrifice Me: Season One (Sacrifice Me Episodes/Books #1-6) by Sarra Cannon ~This was an engrossing story that kept me flipping the pages to find out what Well worth the read.
Many readers have chosen Sacrifice Me as their favourite Sarra Cannon book. I always wondered why, because it's a side series, belonging to her popular Shadow Demons Saga. Well, I understand now. Though some of Peachville's characters make an appearance in this series, the focus of this story is on Franki, a young college student who falls into the dangerous, but exciting, world of Venom, an exclusive nightclub. Very exclusive.
Every page of this book brought something to the story. It was exciting, nerve-wracking, interesting, intense and there are some pretty steamy scenes which are quite fun to read.
Venom is a world that I think all fans of fantasy would love to step into, even for just one night. I know I would.
2.5 stars. In one of my writing groups, we have been talking about serials for a while and it kind of made me want to try writing a serial, but as I've never even read a serial before I wanted give one a try and see what it's like. Unfortunately, this wasn't what I was expecting. It's not a bad story and there's enough interesting secrets in it that keep you somewhat interested.
The downside for me is it includes tropes I don't like, an annoying protagonist, and too much predictability. If you hate insta-love like I do, then you'll want to stay away from this book. It takes about 2 min for Franki (the protagonist) and Rend (love interest) to fall madly and passionately in love with each other. So much so he'd risk the Devil's wrath (that's literally the antagonist's name) to save Franki, something he normally wouldn't do for anyone else, so we're told.
Franki's character is sometimes so clueless and dumb it was annyoing. I did like her best friend Katy cause it seemed like she was the smart one. When Franki finally reveals her secret and what's been going on to Katy, Katy is the one who ends up explaining to Franki things that should have been obvious if she were using any common sense. I know this is kind of a vague explanation, but I didn't want to get into specific spoilers. Maybe Franki will be less annoying in future books now that she's starting to understand this new world she's in and who she really is.
Lastly, like I said this story is very predictable. I wasn't surprised by the ending, I wasn't really surprised by any of the twists. There's one twist that I didn't expect, but even that didn't surprise or shock me.
The pacing is well done though, there doesn't seem to be any moments that are dull or dragged out. I do wish we could have spent more time learning about the world and Franki's identity and less time on the romance. I knew this was paranormal story, but I didn't fully realize before starting that this was a paranormal romance, which means it focuses more on the romance plot of the story than the paranormal part. I might have been ok with this if the romance was more of a slow burn rather than insta-love, but unfortunately that's not what we got.
Overall, it was an ok book. I can see why others would love it, but it just wasn't the book for me. I will still give Sarra's other books a shot and hopefully I can connect and fall in love with those books more.
I liked this book more than I thought I would. After the last book I read (Stephen King's It) it was a quicker and easier read for me. I think I enjoyed that the most. There were some surprises at the end I wasn't expecting that made it fun as well. I knew Sarra Cannon had the Shadow Demon series before this one, but I also read that you didn't have to read that series to understand this book. True, but the fact that the worlds are so intertwined I wonder now if reading this book first might have ruined some other surprises in that series. I guess I'll have to find out.
All and all considering this was the first book written by Sarra Cannon that I've read I have to say it was good and left me wondering about Season two of Sacrifice me or if I should backtrack and start reading the Shadow Demon series first. Decisions, decisions.
This format of episodes in a series is reminiscent of both modern TV series, and the episodic publishing of stories in periodicals in the way that Dickens did in the past. I like it. Especially when the story is worth reading line this one, this is a fabulous branching of the Peachville/Shadowdemon world, although it would work as a standalone as well.
I am glad I came a bit late to the Shadow Demon party so I did not have to wait between books. I am reading them in the order suggested in her website. They are filled with wonderful characters with interesting relationships. I need to go read the next one now.
Well if you haven't read peachville demons or the shadow demons saga that's ok this is still a really good introduction into this world. You'll probably want to go read them but it's not going to stop the story to read the sacrifice me season 1. Adding in the potions from rend and getting to see some old favorites this was a great read.
While I found Franki an interesting character with a lot of potential, the world building was lacking in this series. Upon further research, this is the 2nd book in this world and I should have read that book first. Overall, it was okay but I would definitely give this author another try.
Good series. A decent amount of action, but the Romance element was a little flat more. I really like the world that was built and this unique take on vampires. I was a little confused at times, but that was probably because I didn’t read the Peachville High Demons series.
Nicely written tale about Franki, a young woman who is suddenly thrust into the world of witches, demons and vampires. The characters are fun to follow, and the storyline has a pace ensued too keep the readers riveted until the final chapter.
I like the writing style and the storylines I even liked most of the characters but Frankie really annoyed me at times. I did enjoy this book though it's definitely worth the read.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I liked the character development and found the world building with just the right amount of details. I just wish that the remainder of the series was in the Kindle Unlimited program.
This is my favourite book so far in the shadow demons series. Although it is a side book it is fantastic. I love Rend and loved that there was a bit more spiciness in this one. Franki is a warrior and it was great to see her transform into the powerful witch she is. Loved it
I absolutely loved this series. Note to anyone that will read this series. Make sure u read The Shadow Demons book 1 thru 6 then this series. It gives you some information about that series.
I love Sarra Cannon and her style of writing. It was hard to put this series down even though it does have zombies in it. It's hard to not like the characters that Sarra comes up with. Good series.
Loved it more than I thought I would. Thought it was going to be really steamy, but it wasn't and the writing was gorgeous. Probably my favorite series can't wait to read the next one!
I read this book after completing DEMONS FOREVER so my expectations were kinda high. Although author did a nice job but this wasn't my style. I believe in love at first but, for me, it has a limit and I would not risk everything and turn the world the world upside down for the person whom I merely know. The same happened in the story. And secondly, the concept of vampires is kinda confusing me if I compare them with demons.
Every thing happened quickly. Like in Peachville high demons series, Harper first learnt about her powers or at least had an idea about the same, where as, Franki who knew nothing was called one of the strongest witch.
I'm still not able to digest the story. I think I'm kinda obsessed with the main books. Book was okay. If you are new, you can give it a shot!
