Still an enjoyable read but the sex scenes got really annoying! Yep, I said it. Usually I can just skip over and continue the story if I’m not in the mood. In this story, however, the pages long sex scenes pop up in the most awkward and random times - like right in the middle of an intense meeting about war strategies… “man, he’s hot…” Stop, race out of the room, have sex for five or six pages. Walk back into the war meeting and continue. And, the constant crude references and voyeristic sex… *sigh*. There really can be overkill, folks. Sometimes I want to keep reading the STORY!! ‘Cause it is actually really good.

Plus, the whole calling up evil demons plot-lines in the industry as a whole seem overdone at this point, and there wasn’t anything particularly different or creative in this rendition of that trope.

Kind of went off the rails. Got very immature and Sasha seems to be getting worse each book. I’m throwing in the towel. Done with this series.

Demons has a lot to do with relationships. Sasha learns the reason behind Domincous having taken such an unexpected shine to her – and finally forges the familial connection that she has wanted her entire life. She struggles (under Jonas’ mentoring as her self -proclaimed tutor in the art of leadership skills) with growing into her role within the clan in order to be truly accepted as their Mage and then as Stefan’s mate – while still trying to learn how to fully work and control her magical abilities and making friends and growing her magic circle. She’s got a lot going on. She’s also dealing with the love of her life having a major PTSD attack and pretty much losing his shit.

Stefan (and to a somewhat lesser extent Jonas) is getting a blast from the past and must confront old – but very much unresolved – childhood trauma connected with the death of his family; which is also at the heart of his hatred of the Mata. Someone (hmmm…I wonder who) is running around creating demons. Initially low level demons that Sasha gets to practice her magics on – and then everything comes crashing to a head and a nail biting, eleventh hour, fire-y battle with the summoning of a honkin’ big and powerful demon.

Despite Stefan’s meltdown, he and Sasha only form a stronger bond. I don’t know why I don’t feel the chemistry with those 2; they seem to have a very sweet (and boring) relationship. I’m enjoying this series for the humor; and the story of Sasha coming into her own and developing her powers. Sasha and Stefan humping like bunnies I could honestly do without – and I think Demons sees them doing it THREE times – my reaction generally being “Oh God! Again?!?”. Charles is my favorite character. I have no idea why I get such a kick out of him – because he’s pretty juvenile and ridiculous. Maybe because he switched from knitting to crocheting to have a more manly hobby. I’m also starting to warm up to Jonas and his gruff devotion to Sasha – but I don’t appreciate the attempted mind wipe.

Jonas is becoming a likable and sympathetic character. He is being taken into the fold so to speak and I’m fine with that. However Jonas started out in book one as a scary dude. It wasn’t enough that he’s part of a race that thinks nothing of exuding pheromones, luring susceptible humans into dub-con at best sexy times and then wiping their minds of all memories; but he was described as having “tastes” that “generally bent towards pain, liking it when his victims screamed and begged for their life.”, while the majority of their species leaned more toward wanton pleasure any way they could get it. This was why Charles was supposed to “keep an eye” on Jonas. And let’s not forget his gleefully telling Sasha how awesome it was that he couldn’t pheromone her, that way her screams would be heartfelt when he was raping her. But now, all of a sudden – he’s not a sadistic psycho – he just dabbles in BDSM to relieve his temper. And the best part “he only engages in that type of sex when he’s on the receiving end” because everyone knows that “you have to be in firm control when you’re the one in charge, and since he only reaches for that vice when he’s *not* on control, he challenges people to attempt to dominate him”. And can we all just say a great big WTF? I feel the indignity of a mind wipe gone wrong.

But none the less, 4 books into an 8 book commitment and I’m entertained enough to continue to the end.

Bell, Book & Candle | Demons Review

I LOVE this series! The humor, the characters, the steamy scenes, fight scenes...everything! I swear I obsessively stalk the author's Goodreads page for any and all info and updates for the next book in the series. And to think I just randomly came upon this series in the Apple app store.

"It was like an extended honeymoon period with him--part of me wanted to just hang out in the same room and stare at him while drool dribbled down my chin." - Sasha

"Yes, Jonas, but Toa gave me a giant scroll on linking. A scroll Jonas. He thinks that if I study a five-hundred-year-old document, I'll figure something out. Spoiler alert: I haven't." -Sasha

So in this book we see Sasha really try to get a hold of her immense power, as well as step up as the new co-leader. There's a new introduction of paranormal species if you can call it that: witches. I am not too fond of these new characters, but they do somewhat help balance Sasha, even if they are annoying. Also, Sasha annoyed me in this book. The demon is obviously trying to lure her in by speaking to her, so that way it can steal her powers. And what does she do? She talks to it. I'm upset that she nearly got everyone killed!

"What's up Sasha? Cramps?" - Charles

"Nah. But I hang out with a guy that does. Ever notice that smokers never seem to have a lighter on them?' - Ann

As always, my favorite character was Charles; I just love his humor and I totally want a friend like him in my life. Surprisingly Jonas is starting to grow on me as well. The action is pretty good, and it has plenty of plot twists. The reader gets to see more of the uber hot Stefan and Sasha have their "alone time". Without giving too much away to you all, I'll leave you with this line concerning the story...."the plot thickens". Muah ha ha (Evil Laugh)

We’ve spent three books watching Sasha get comfortable in her skin. Learning about the new world she’s been taken into. Watching her and Stefan get closer and closer. And it’s been a glorious, fun, action packed and crazy hot ride. In this fourth book? We get to see it all come together in one amazing package.

Sasha is now the clan Mage, soon to be mated officially to Stefan and has found the closest familial connection she’s ever had in the Regional, Dominicus. She has learned how to channel and manage her magic enough to run point on missions and call half the shots in the clan. She is easing into her backbone and it looks damn fine on her.

Stefan, on the other hand, is spiraling down into his own personal demons and finds himself wondering many times whether he’s strong enough to fight them. He still possesses the incredible fortitude, class and sex that he’s always had, but this new trial puts him to the test in a way to which he is unaccustomed. Good thing he has Sasha by his side.

Charles and Jonas bloom more fully in this book as well and as much as I’ve worked (really, really hard) to hate Jonas for three solid books, I just can’t bring myself to do it anymore. I adore him. Really adore him. He’s feisty and petulant and about as friendly as barbed wire, but he is steadfast behind Sasha and Stefan and every time she thinks her new role doesn’t actually fit and it’s all a big, fat mistake, Jonas is there to pull up her bootstraps and set her firmly back on the road in front of her.

Charles is hilarious and sweet and badass just like he’s always been. I could read a whole book of him bantering with Sasha, knitting (or crocheting), hitting on various women and killing things and be perfectly happy, such is the gravitas of his character’s personality.

This book is longer than the other books in the series and I was thrilled for it. To say that I’m head over heels in love with this series is a vast understatement. I am firmly in its thrall and just super happy to be here.

K.F. Breene has crafted another seamless installment in this series that flows elegantly and with ease from crazy hot sex scenes to blood bathed battles, from witty banter to intense discussion. From teaching to learning. The quality and pacing of her writing is flawless, high energy and gorgeously precise.

This is a series that not only takes readers into a truly new and different facet of the paranormal romance genre, but is so much freaking fun to read, you’ll be obnoxiously beating down the author’s door begging for the next book. Just like me.

Still enjoying, but this relationship doesn't feel like it progressed naturally. It feels like a longer story limited by a specific word count.

This felt like a filler book. I was also not enchanted with the way the FMC made fun of Charles for essentially being raped by Darla in the last book. Not a fan of how Breene treats what is actually rape of humans in general in this series - a rather laissez-faire attitude shown by all characters, even the human FMC at times. The only thing that keeps me from being turned off of this series entirely is that this is happening infrequently.

Fast character growth

Another obstacle taken down. You can't get much worse then demons and Stephen would know. Sasha continues to grow at an amazing rate. She is already a leader but now she must deal with human witches too. You would think that there isn't too many challenges left for her but I can't wait to see how she deals with the council next.

Demons: Darkness Series, Book 4
By: K.F Breene
🎧 Audiobook Narrated By: Victoria Mei
Length: 5 hrs 36 mins
📖 Ebook

Sasha has continued to learn her magic as best as she can with its weirdness! Her love with Stefan continues to deepen, as does her friendships with Charles, Anne and a begrudging one with Jonas 😊

Dominicus & Toa continue to support our couple, with the Regional making her an offer that's touching and heartwarming!💙💕

Stefan had a serious issue highlighted in this book. The problem undermines Sasha's position as the Clan's Mage, so she has to address it firmly!😠

I'm so heavily into this series. It consumes my imagination, and I get lost in the world that K.F. Breene has created. I LOVE it.😍

Demons whether real or from your past can always come back to bite you...

Sasha is getting more of a handle on this Mage this, our girl is growing up now if Stefan would just let her do her job without his overbearing protective ass putting up roadblocks life would be kind perfect...

Ah, the joys of a supernatural relationship with an extreme alpha damn Sasha picked the best of the best...lol

I really am loving where this series is heading each story grabs me and pulls me into this amazing world more and more.

I have to wonder if the author is loosing her way a little with this series now. This book certainly didn't seem to be on par with the first three in the series.

Honestly the whole book isn't so bad but when the ending irks me this much, then ya sorry for leaving me a sour note.

I think it's great that the author gave her a learning disability of sorts but c'mon! Any human who actually stumbles into magic will be a Hermione. That's after 4 books I kept that in. Nothing's changed. Not only that, something that can save everyone she refuses to do. How selfish is that?

My husband is laughing at me saying, look at you raging over in your corner. I literally dropped the kindle and went to my phone to review like a Karen lol.

I really wish there are other main characters bc I love the story and premise, I just can't get behind reading about Sasha anymore.

Excellent as usual

I've plowed through most of K.F. Breenes books happily and continue to do so. This series is no exception. I adore the characters and the banter, not to mention to kick ass action and strong FMC. If you're into paranormal fantasy that kicks butt then this is your series (one of them at least - I highly recommend DDVN and Demigods of San Francisco as well).

Magic and Monsters

The fourth story in this series and Sasha's skills are tested against demons; this lonely twenty year old orphan has found love and acceptance with Stefan, and is slowly becoming acknowledged by the clan, but it's still hard, and she still resorts to her trademark sarcastic humour to cope. I am still enjoying this series: ignore the naysayers who focus on the non-con sex - these are a different race with different morals and there's not that much anyway. Brill.

Nope just the same old same ole

Don't know why I even bothered the books do the same thing in every book. They all go in the same repetitive circle. It's like rinse and repeat, the Author could of got rid of many words of stuffing and just made 1 book. What a waste.

Reread;
My heart still aches for Stefan in this book. His past isn’t pretty and he has trouble with dealing with it. But him trying to do what is best for Sasha with Toa was the last thread, he completely owns my heart and soul. The chemistry between Sasha and Stefan is still off the charts HOTTTT, the continues banter between Sasha and Charles is so freaking hilarious, and the new bond with Jonas is a shocker but what a wonderful surprise it is.

4🔥🔥🔥🔥
‘Demons’ is book four in K.F Breene’s Darkness series. This story continues on from ‘On a Razor’s Edge’. Highly Recommend previous books are reading prior to this.

Sasha now the clans Mage and co-leader, soon to be mated officially to Stefan, she finds her self now having to act like a leader while still trying to learn her magic. When out on a routine border check what is found is going to push Sasha to grow a backbone and rule beside her mate. But in the process of finder herself she may loose Stefan when his past comes back to haunt him.

I’m just loving this series, each and everyone of the characters play a special role in Sasha’s life. The loveable funny and sometimes immature brother figure Charles, the hotheaded short tempered protector Jonas, vampire looking eye staring lecturer Toa, the newly father figure Dominicus and lastly but don’t let him hear that he was last the overly protective sexy Boss Stefan. All unique and all bring something that helps keeps Sasha centred, protected and grow.

The pages of this book were just exploding with so much going on. Having a past enemy showing up with new problems and troubles for Sasha and Stefan to deal with. Past secrets revealed, new alliances, and new dangers.

The characters continue to grow and attach to your heart. Jonas was the biggest shock of all in this book, from book one ‘Into the Darkness’ Jonas has been a thorn in Sasha’s life, leaving her to die, threatening to use her body, but he is now a determined protector of Sasha and will do everything to make sure she is safe. Even if it’s from himself as she pushes and irritates his patience. Seeing a vulnerable and broken side of Stefan was torturous, my heart went out to him when he recalls his past to Sasha, I just wanted rap my arms around him.

I just love this series and can’t wait to see what happens next in ‘The Council’, so I’ll be ending this review here, but before I go I’ll leave this quote from Charles as it had me in stitches.

“Well, goody, rainbows and unicorns. Lovely working conditions.” - Charles

I received Demons in return for an honest review from the author. Sasha has still a lot to learn about being a black witch but with the help of her friends and a white witch named Toa she may just make it. Dominicous having saved her life many years ago when she was a child he decided its fate that brought her back to him and he’s adopted her as his daughter. For the first time Sasha has a family, a place to belong and a man to love everything is falling into place at last.

They are still working with the (Mata) shifters however neither leader is thrilled with working together and it takes everything for Stefan to not start a fight with Tim the alpha. When they have reports of a breach she heads out just to sense magic with the Mata (Shifters) but what was supposed to be easy sensing of magic turns into something dark, an old spell, bodies and a demon it’s up to Sasha to save the day. Sasha finds new friends in a group of human witches who will come in handy when they have to group up with the Mata to take out a demon who happens to be hiding in the place they both had loss’s in the past. Will they be able to stop it before it destroys them all?

I really like Sasha she’s one of those characters that doesn’t have a perfect life. She’s flawed but she’s grown from her past into a kick ass heroine who fights demons and gets the guy in the end. I really like Charles he has some great lines in the book as well as Jonas who I didn’t like at first. I think Stefan is perfect for Sasha because they both needed each other to feel whole. I really like all the Mata they are quickly becoming my favorites.

Demons is the fourth installment in the Darkness series which I’ve been impatiently waiting to get my hands on. I really enjoyed the third book which so far up to this point has been my favorite but now Demons is tied. The author has taken the concept of vampire and shifters putting her own unique spin creating an exciting series. I was captivated right from the start it’s an action packed series filled with sexy men, bad guys, steaminess and of course a thrilling plot. If I had only one complaint this are short, I just can’t seem to get enough. I finished Demons within a few short hours and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one because it’s one of my favorite series. It does have mature content but I think it’s worth reading if you enjoy the paranormal. Plus look at the covers they just scream read me.

Finally somethings are happening! Sasha is finally starting to get it even though it’s still really hard for her. I love the shifter clan and I think Anna may have a soft spot for Charles...maybe. Ima a little wary of Tao and dear old dad but that is only my cynical nature everything else is telling me they are in it for the long haul.

Really in all honesty I’m just not sure how much longer this is going to drag out for. Where are we headed? I’m so ready for some head bashing or something.

The descriptions of the magical battles are exhausting. I mean for a bunch of people standing around you wouldn’t think there would be so much anxiety. I’m ready to really start seeing crap blow up and people flying around. This anxious rush to untangle intricate knots of spell craft is not my jam.

Action packed
Old enemies emerge bringing demons with him. Sasha is still learning her magic and it’s getting a little frustrating. New friend to help her out are found and come into play. Stefan has to fight demons of a few different types both mental and physical. The Regional (Dominicous) is still in the area and has a surprise for Sasha. The Mata helping Sasha out and Stephan is still reluctant and warier around them. Some past issues are reviled. Action packed throughout the book. With a council meeting getting closer will Sasha be up for what’s needed of her? Well written and entertaining to read. Looking forward to the next book in the series. I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I think, no, I know, this is my favourite in the Darkness series!
Why?
There's love, there's sass, there's dominance, there's sex, there's fighting, there's friendship, there's family, there's humour, there's mended bridges, there's fear, there's suspicion, there's questions answered and questions unasked...its blooming intoxicating!
This one is action packed and ready to go!
I only really have one issue. This whole book feels like it knows it's the beginning of the end. Things are being wrapped up, conclusions becoming clearer. I understand all good things need to come to an end and it's not good manners to leave unanswered questions but I truly hope K.F. Breene takes us down a more unconventional path for the finale!!

Demons is action from start to finish. Battling demons one way or another. I loved every minute of this book. I laughed, I sighed, I had a couple tears fall,I had a few moments of fear for our beloved characters. K.F. Breene has a way with her characters, you just don't like them, you fall in love. Sasha our kick ass magical heroine, Stefan our bad ass hero, Charles our funny crocheting sexy man, Jonas our tough as nails guardian that is oh so sexy!(sigh) I loved learning more about Dominicous and Toa in this book. I have to say the new additions to the characters is awesome. I am so ready for book 5 to come out. Great Book. It's a definite page turner!

here is my honest review,

This one is the best so far out of the series, you learn so much more about all the characters especially with Stefan. whereas he has been the strong leader and has everything under control it is Sasha who takes charge and leads them.

Of course this series wouldn't be complete without Charles and Jonas, as usual Sasha is in full rebellion mode towards the pair of them.

Throughout this book you feel like your on one hell of a ride, there is so much emotion and drama going on and Sasha just takes it and fights back. i love her!

Congrats on an amazing book I'm looking forwarded to book 5 :D

Sasha when her man is in need she has no problem giving him what he needs without expecting anything in return, "take mine," she murmured, her lips once again on his. "Reinforce the mark, Stefan. Make me yours again. Only yours.' Sometimes these two don't care about the outside world especially Stefan when his woman needs him to hell with everything else:
"I need longer than ten minutes," I said in a purr, lifting my butt so he could slide off my black jeans.
"They can wait," he growled, threading two fingers into my slippery sex.
I love this series and I really can't wait for more.

Whoa! What a ride - Breene has done it again! This series is amazing and Demons doesn't disappoint. It has action it has steaming romance and homourous undertones. I laughed, I got swept away and I even had a tear pricking at my eye. Stefan is such a strong leader but in this book he is struggling with his past and it is the perfect chance for Sasha to make her mark as a co-leader - she certainly steps up to the plate even though she is scare shitless half the time.

Charles cracks me up, Jonas is growing on me and I can't wait to see where K.F takes us next.

Amazing book in the Darkness series! The characters backgrounds start to be explored, and just are around more to see their personalities. It is great to find out more about some characters we didn't really get to know before. The story...as always...was amazingly written and thought out. Sasha and Stefan are amazing together, and with her having to help him with an issue...great turn of events! Who doesn't love to see the strong man have a few weaknesses? Amazingly written, and like I said a great addition to the Darkness series. Now to wait for 5 : )
