This was one incredibly HOT and very short read!!!

Hadley Scott receives a silver envelope on her desk at work.
In it, is an invite to one of the most whispered about clubs in all of Chicago, Club Q.
It is known to be an exclusive sex club that only caters to the young, wealthy, and beautiful.
Hadley is beyond excited.

Once in the club, she and others like her who have received the same invite are told that they will be taken to one of many hotel rooms within the building and their sex partner for the evening will be waiting for them. The rooms are in complete darkness.
There are no visual or audio clues of whom their partners are.

What a crazy HOT premise for a story.
One that I have not read before.
I've read stories of sex clubs but none where the participants are in complete darkness and have no clue what the other looks like.

Hadley's evening is beyond fantastic and she is hoping that she'll get another invite back and hopefully be asked to become a member of Club Q.

We find out who invited Hadley to the Club and I'm hoping that there will be a book two. It does end with a "To Be Continued" so that sounds promising!! I will definitely be reading it!

3.5 Intriguing Premise Stars * * *

This was quick... this had an interesting concept and presented well. The best was that it worked for a lunch break at work or a tad longer. There will be more to come and it did leave us with a main character who has a secret admirer who maybe a bit obsessed.....

My only complaint is the cover...the idea I get... the model, no. She is painfully thin and concerning. It was more of a negative and took focus away from what the author had intended, in my opinion.

2 I GOT BORED STARS ★★

Well this is probably the quickest read I ever had to do. With only 34 pages, I got bored out of my mind before I hit halfway. The only reason I didn't DNF this is because it's too short for me to even bother =\

The story starts out with Hadley Scott who received an exclusive invitation to Club Q which is apparently elusive and once she's in, she learns about the club's concept. The female counterpart will be led into a dark room where the male counterpart awaits them. So technically, they have sex. In the dark. Unknown to each other.

Sorry to say that while the idea/concept could have seem intriguing, I didn't enjoy anything while reading this. No build up, nothing compelling and sex was just...sex. Which pretty much sums up to my boredom & eye-rolling while I read this.

Still, I gave it a 2-stars because it may lead to something better in the next book. And the writing was alright, just that it didn't intrigued me. But overall, I'm not keen on picking the next one up.

****4 Fascinating Stars****

Handley Scott has received an invitation to the mysterious Night Club Q; this place is one of Chicago's best kept secrets. Rumor has it that people go to this club for a unique sexual experience that keeps the city's Elite hooked, not only for the entertaining activities but because of the anonymity it provides. People can only attend by invitation and the return is subject to how well the person can follow the rules. Handley is ready to try everything this club has to offer; sex with a stranger in the dark. She is free spirited, adventurous and never afraid to explore her sexuality. After her explosive encounter with a partner she didn't get to see but only feel, she can't wait for more and is now desperate to find out if she's made the cut and will be allow to go back to Q. What Handley doesn't know is that it wasn't a coincidence that she got an invitation, someone wanted her to be there...

I seriously got lucky with this little novella, while short it was incredibly alluring and entertaining. I didn't rate a full five only because it had a few errors that could have been prevented with better editing but it could be because it was an Arc, I'm not sure. Also it was way too short, leaving me desperate with the promise of an amazing and sensual story and I can't wait to read more. I've been looking for information about this author to find out when the next book will be out but there's nothing out there, no FB, no further details on her GR author page and this is now driving me crazy. I need more!!!!!

✪✪✪ 3 Star Rating ✪✪✪

I thought this was a good read and I liked it...up to a point.
I have to be brutally honest here and maybe it's me just being picky but the editing is terrible, just for this reason I found this book quite difficult to read, it ruined the flow and I had to stop reading at times to try and work out what the author actually meant (I mean you've got problems if you 'shit' a door).

If you can get passed the editing then it's a good read, it's different as I've never read anything like it before and it held my attention...quite a different approach to erotica I must say.

The sex scene...

...was well written and nicely described without coming across as too eager and distracting the reader from the plot (which was actually decent considering how short this ebook is).
The ending is left open for a sequel which I would consider reading.

First Impression
I was looking for something short & sweet and I came across Lover Unknown. Something about this reminds me of S.E.C.R.E.T. by L. Marie Adeline, but thats probably just me. Either way this still sounds good!

Opening Lines
"Attempting to look preoccupied, I twirled the silver envelope through my fingers, willing myself to take that one last step. All I had to do was walk around the corner-off the main strip of city lights, and into a dimly lit alley-and there I was. Club Q."

The Good
Wait. No. NOO!! That’s it? Do you know how many times I kept clicking on the arrow hoping there would be more? At least one more chapter! There is so much I want to say but it’ll just spoil the story for everyone, so my lips are sealed! This book was Steamy with a capital S! Eight pages in and Ellie Kindcade had my body tingling with the description of Hadley getting check!

“I felt the unfamiliar body shift behind me as the check continued-this time up the inside of my legs, connecting with every inch of thing. Higher and higher his hands lifted, seemingly in slow motion”

Oh boy. It just kept getting better and hotter and the last chapter I completely didn’t see that coming! Overall, Lover Unknown was fantastic! Ellie Kincade, as a debut novella you deserve a pat on the back and a round of applause! I need book 2 now! Also, I want to read more about Nina. I know her story would be a good one!

1.5 - 2 BORING STARS

Hadley Scott has received an invitation to come to an exclusive club she's only heard rumors about, but now knows this isn't a joke. Once in the club, she realizes everyone is also new and vying for a potential membership.

Hadley curious as to who invited her, but first In her attempt to be adventurous, lean more about the club and potentially become a member, she must spend the night with a stranger under very interesting circumstances.

Interesting concept, but it didn't do anything for me. I felt no anticipation of what was going to happen, no heightened arousal over what happened... nothing. Maybe it was because I was tired, but it didn't work for me. I fluctuated between giving it one star or two. But I didn't hate it. I was more indifferent, as I kept waiting for something intriguing to happen.

I don't know if I would want to read what happens next.

not realising this book was so short, I went to bed with the intention of starting it, & finishing it in the morning... before I knew it I was finished!

super short so there's no time for boring fluff & fillers that are not needed. it's straight into the action so to speak, and I was hooked.

I found the final chapter to be a little creepy. I guess time will tell if that was the intention or not. looking forward to the next installment!

I really need to get away from these serial reads! The book is 34 pages in length.
Hadley receives a large silver envelope that is a personal invitation to club (Club Q) which is only talked about in whispers. And is determined and nervous to discover what it is.
tonight could change your entire life
I did not know what I was getting myself into but around 60 %I get it… be who you want to be and do what you want to do in the dark…
At 69% mystery man melts my core “Push me away he said as he kissed my right breast, tell me to go and ill go”

OMG.. You have to read this book. It was so good I couldn't put it down. I read it in less than an hour and wish I had more from this author to jump right into.

Hadley gets invited to a secret club. The mystery, sexual tension, curiosity is intense and had me flipping pages like crazy to find out where things go. In a dark room things get hot and sensual. I didn't realize just how amazing and hot a scene like that could be until Hadley was experiencing it.

And then we get thrown a little twister at the end about who invited her and I absolutely MUST have the next installment of this story. M-U-S-T!!!!

Although I absolutely loved this sexy, sensual read. there were issues that need to be addressed. She starts out wearing a pair of SIX inch heels that later become FOUR inch heels. Along with spelling errors that are littered through out like 'few of idea of my own' or 'shivered in responses'. Some places are straight up missing words like 'he moved over my and' but overall a excellent read.

It’s a short story, the first installment in a series, and I really enjoyed it. Hadley Scott receives an anonymous invitation to club Q, a hush-hush club in Chicago; rumour has it, it deals with sex. Hadley is sexually adventurous and is thrilled to have an invitation; only the young, rich and beautiful are invited. When she gets there, she learns that guests are matched by the staff for sexual encounters, and everything is done anonymously: in completed darkness, no conversation, and without knowing whom you are meeting…

I thought it was a fun idea, and we know it will end on a cliff-hanger. It’s nicely written and although there are several typos, I’m really looking forward to the next book! I received a copy of this book from NetGalley.

I am curious if I read the same book everyone else did. It is not that I didn't enjoy it. It was just okay for me. I would have liked more emotional build up or physical build up. Sparks...maybe? Not sure. I wanted more. I have never read from this author before. Don't get me wrong the writing was okay. I just didn't feel the intensity of the moments she had with this stranger in the dark. The ending was interesting because of the small cliffhanger, but it did not have me thinking "I sure need to read that ASAP" I really do not know what I expected, but I don't go into the read thinking it is not a good choice. I loved the cover though. I think it is fitting.

Hadley Scott has been invited to join the Club Q ( why Q...? ) for one night. If she's willing to play, she could spend the night with a complete stranger. She'll be able to know if she wants to become a permanent member. Hadley has never been the type to decline a challenge, and she isn't going to run away from this.

I really liked the concept, and I honestly didn't think I would enjoy this quick read. Even if it's kind of unrealistic, I liked it and I'll probably check out the next book. I'm intrigued, especially with that 'Unseen' part.

"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."

This novella is the start of Hadley's story, as she accepts an invitation to Club Q. The whole tale is over in a moment, but the set up and the premise of the series definitely has promise. If you are a fan of the slightly mysterious, satisfied by the briefest of erotic adventures, and enjoy the build up created by a pause in the story this series is for you.

I feel I want to start this review saying I don't really like short stories. However, Lover Unknown by Ellie Kincade is probably the first one I have read that I loved, then Goodreads Stalked to find when book 2 was coming. This rarely happens with books for me, even rarer with a Adult/Erotica book but can I just say... WOW.

What did it for me with Lover Unknown was the final chapter, not from Hadley's point of view, but a guy. This was totally unexpected and as much as I loved Hadley I literally was like, "Ok, this book is so much more than hot sex". At present writing this review I cannot see anything on a book 2, although this is labeled as a series so I am hoping it will be soon.

Hadley gets an invitation to the elusive Club Q. A club so exclusive only rumours of what happen there are what you know about the club. Its a private club and like Vegas, what happens there, stays there. Club Q had me intrigued and I admit when I started reading about Hadley's visit initially I was thinking I could tell what was going to happen. Admittedly I wasn't completely right or wrong. Being a short story you can read this fairly quickly.

I liked Hadley as a character, felt the sex scene was hot but not smutty (Like porn I mean) and felt a kinship to Hadley (Although could never see me pushing that kind of boundary - but I hope you understand what I mean). I was surprised by Ellie Kincade's writing style. This felt more like a super hot women's fiction short story, yet when the sex happened - Boy did it happen.

I definitely will read more of these books, I just wish there was more information on the series, so please if you do know of when the other books are coming out, drop me a comment as I'd love to know!

The only reason I did not give Lover Unknown (A clever concept I would love to add) 5 stars was that it was a short story and I personally prefer a novel. However, if these books are released closely together and make up a novel, then I could see this being an amazing series. I thoroughly recommend it!

Lover Unknown was a really really really short read that left me unsure and intrigued at the same time. The story started with Hadley Scott who received an invitation from a mysterious but exclusive club called Club Q.

Club Q was more like sex club. Oh I don't know. LOL. All Hadley knew was that the said club has lots of sex in it. And its surely is not the typical club with strippers and private rooms.

So that night, she was willing to have sex with a random stranger picked by the host of the club. No lights. No words. No names. Just sex.

That got me intrigued. Really. I don't know who the fuck is this guy. But he's really good behind those sheets. The sex was really good. My imagination was absolutely working despite the fact that the setting is literally dark and the author obviously likes to tease what the guy actually looks like.

But after all that, I don't know. I don't know who the fuck Hadley Scott is. What the hell is her story? *scratches head* I actually thought that that guy she slept with was gonna be her hero but I guess not since.. there's this one guy whose POV was told during the 'UNSEEN' chapter in the end. And of course, my first thoughts were "WHATTT?" and "WHO THE HELL IS THIS GUY?"

Overall, Lover Unknown was fine. But it needs more kick. It would have been better if this one didn't end with a cliffy 'cause the short story wasn't really enough to make me wanna read the sequel.

Lover Unknown is a (very) short story about Hadley, a young woman who one day receives an invitation to the exclusive and mysterious Club Q. This mysterious club is for the city's elite and beautiful, and those on the outside can only speculate as to what happens there. It's this intrigue that leads Hadley to accept her invitation when it arrives and what she finds is an exclusive club catering to people's sexual desires in the dark.
This was a fairly quick read and I liked the premise of the story. The sex scene was decently written and Hadley was a nice enough character. I just think that where this story is so short, I didn't really get a good feel for the story or the characters overall. This is part of a series though so I think that's stuff that will build over time.
My one major gripe with this story though is it seems like an awful lot of trouble for the inviters to go about luring people to a mysterious club just so they can get laid. At the end of the story, Hadley's inviter is revealed to be someone she knows, and another woman's inviter is a guy she knows from the gym. The attraction is already there, so why can't these men just man up and invite them on a date rather than go about it in such a complicated way? It especially doesn't make sense to me considering that the couples in Club Q are matched anonymously, so why invite someone you like to go to a club and have sex with someone else? I think this is perhaps one of those occasions when suspended logic is needed.
A good start, but I think I'd like to read some of the rest of the series to see where this idea can go. 3 stars.

Lover Unknown is the first book in a new series by the author Ellie Kincade, I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review so here goes...

This is a very short novella almost like an extended prologue, where we are introduced to the main character Hadley and the elusive club Q.

For me this was just too short, we don’t really learn anything about Hadley just that she was invited to an anonymous club, where no one knows what goes on there apart from the rumours that it’s a bit kinky!!

This book revolves around the kink that having sex in a dark room and having no idea who your partner is would be sexy.

Sorry but for me it didn’t really float my boat, I enjoy the build up before the sex and there just wasn’t any.

This book starts, she has sex with a random stranger and then it ends.

I like kinky books but this wasn’t kinky just a bit odd, sorry only my opinion but nope not a squirm in sight.

The best bit about the book is the anonymous mans speech at the end about how he is in love with Hadley and he invited her to Club Q, this added the only bit of intrigue and interest to the whole thing.

Sorry didn’t work for me 2 stars!

Well, this is tough to review since it was extremely short, more like a novella or just a little story ... And it's my first time reading erotica - I do apologize if this genre offends you, I just thought I'd try something new. So what did I think of Lover Unknown?

Really interesting premise, sexy and mysterious, and I'd love to read more about it. My main problem, of course, was the length - I really wish this had been worked on more and turned into a full-size novel, I think it has great potential and I would've loved a bit more depth to the story. Interesting concept and premise, but the story itself felt more like an idea, or a synopsis someone would pitch to a book agent ...

That being said, I really enjoyed the premise of this, it's mysterious and steamy! And I'll definitely request the next one in the series on NetGalley after that epilogue. I hope the author turns this into something more lengthy and with more depth though. I did like the way the erotic scenes were written, but the rest of the novel felt a little rushed and not quite 'done'.

Short and sweet review for today as it's really quite hard to go on and on about such a short read! It definitely was fun though and I'd love to try different reads from this genre which is completely new to me.

This book was 34 pages.

It's an interesting concept. Get invited to a club (Club Q), get ushered into a dark room and have some sexy fun. No talking, no lights allowed. Just sex.

Hadley seems like a smart women, just craving a little adventure. She finally gave in and allowed herself to try out Club Q. And she ended up loving it, hoping for a permanent invitation.

Will Hadley actually join Club Q, will her mystery man who put her forward for an invitation actually get to be with her in a dark room?

I don't think I'm going to go out of my way to find out. It wasn't that compelling for me and in 34 pages didn't exactly grab my interest.

I just wish that these authors stop putting out little novellas only to produce a cliffhanger. Write a full book. I mean by the time you produce novella after novella, you will almost be there.

This seemed like such an interesting concept for a story I was drawn to it. A mysterious club whose reputation proceeds itself but no one knows what happens there.

Well it started off with a bang, drawn into the mysterious surroundings from the start we are drip fed information at the same time as Hadley. The story covers one exciting night. As much as I would love to go into more detail, I really don't want to spoil it for anyone else as the surprise is soo much a part of the story.

As with all of these serial stories, you are left wanting more. The story ended and I was desperate for the next instalment and then came a little titbit after the main story. I was completely blind sided and left begging for more!

A fantastic debut, please hurry up and tell me when I can get more!!!!

I had to read this based on the synopsis. It sounded so interesting and original. This is a short 32 page story that has left me wanting more. This starts out with Hadley and her receiving a invitation to the mysterious club q. Hadley doesn't know anyone who has been invited to club q, but she was up for the challenge and didn't want to always wonder. Hadley has sex with this mysterious man that she will never know who it was. They aren't allowed to speak or see each other. Once they are finished Hadley leaves not knowing if she will be invited into the club or even back. Hadley knows that if she is invited back she will meet the members of the club but will always have sex with someone without knowing who they are. The story ends with Hadley receiving a gold envelope and it ends. Total cliffhanger. I would highly recommend this story. I can't wait for the next installment.

This was one very HOT novella.

I was very intrigued and captivated, no doubt about it. The plot alone was fascinating and then executed flawlessly. The writing style and flow was perfect. The author was able to keep me interested from beginning to end and I was able to get a feel for the aura of the situation perfectly.

Hadley was sensual and sure of herself, alluring and adventurous. She knew she was hot. She knew what she wanted. I wanted to be there with her, experiencing it with her.

I really wish the book was longer! I realize there will be a second book. I'm guessing this is a prequel to the bigger story but I'm desperate for more!

Short and quick, this first book in the series was really good.

Hadley receives an invitation to a very hush hush club where rumor has it that sex is involved. There are some rules and they are you can't see or talk to the person you are set up with. I was on the fence about this but halfway through, I ended up liking it. Mystery man was HOT and I wanted more out of this. It's straight to the point without useless dialogue setting up a story.

The last chapter was okay and I'm curious to know who the creep was. (He's a creep. He's lurking in the shadows) As for the writing, it was pretty good that I'll have to check out the next book in the series.

I was in the mood for something short- and this little story hit the spot!

I wasn't sure what to think when it started out talking about an elusive club. I've already read this type of story before... but it got much better.

The mystery of the invitation Hadley receives, and the anonymity of the club was so enticing.

This is a VERY short little story of Hadley's first experience with Club Q, and all the fun that is sure to come. I have to say the little Epilogue from the male POV at the end definitely makes me want to finish this series out... I'll look forward to more in the future.

Lover Unknown is a short novella that is the beginning to a series. While the writing was good, the book seemed too short for me on it's own, especially if it's suppose to be an erotic story. The sexual scene in the book was moderate on the sexual scale but I felt that the book was more of a building block for more books to come than one by it's self.

The idea behind the book/series is an interesting one, and for that reason I will give the next book a shot and hope that it blows this one out of the water. The was great potential in this but again, I just felt like this book was more of the jump start to the actual story.

This was a short and steamy read. Hadley receives an invitation to a sex club that caters to young, wealthy, and gorgeous. She is beyond excited. When she gets there it is explained that she will be taken to a room to meet her partner for the evening which she will not know as the room will be completely dark. She shares a night of passion with a stranger and leaves hoping to be asked as a member. I so loved the premise for this story as I hadn't read one about a sex club quite like Q. The story ends with the cliffhanger to whom invited her to the club. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Short novella about a woman who was anonymously invited to a private sex club in Chicago called Club Q, at least she thinks she was. She found the invitation on her desk at work when she returned from a coffee break. Not knowing who dropped it off, she eagerly awaits for the weekend. When Friday comes, she's having second thoughts standing outside the entrance. Why her? Who left the invite? Is the place really like the rumors? Well, only one way to find out. So she goes in, and she never regrets it.

Club Q is an intriguing elitist club. No one really knows what goes on there, but Hadley has just gotten an invitation and is about to find out. The concept is unique and thought-provoking with a strong and empowered female lead. It is a hot and saucy short story, with more to come. I wanted to delve deeper into the characters, but what is there is very good. It has me hooked, and I am excited to find out where this goes!
