Liefde heelt alle wonden
Het is winter. Maaike is alleen op weg naar Noorwegen. Ze wil Domenico nog een keer zien voordat hun wegen zich lijken te scheiden. Duizend vragen houden haar bezig. Vragen die een antwoord verlangen. Hoe komt het dat zo’n diepe vriendschap stuk dreigt te lopen? Wiens schuld is het? Hoe zal het verder gaan? Of is de breuk nog te lijmen? Na een heftig afscheid bij hun bekende straatlantaarn scheiden hun wegen voor- goed. Alle hoop is gevlogen. Maaike zoekt naar nieuwe doelen. Het leven als single valt nog niet mee. Zal ze in Berlijn blijven en geneeskunde gaan studeren? Moet ze zoeken naar een nieuwe liefde? Kan überhaupt iemand anders de plaats van Domenico innemen? Stap voor stap neemt Maaike haar leven in eigen hand en vindt ze langzaam een weg om te gaan. Tot ze op een dag een telefoontje krijgt uit Sicilië waardoor alles weer overhoop wordt gegooid.

I loved the Maya & Domenico series from the start to the finish. I've read the books when I was a teenager, a couple years back and all the way growing up with them. The series holds a special place in my heart since it carried me through these hard and confusing times.
I think Wittpennig displayed this complicated, yet beautiful relationship very well and from a lot of different perspectives. It had so much character growth and plot depth in it and someohow over nine books it managed to never get boring. The author followed the plot very well and it never felt incomprehensible - I was just aware of the fact that this author indeed had a plan for these books.
The writing was very fluent and easy to read, which I liked very much.
I absolutely love this series, first because it is really good and second because I grew up with it and it is now somehow a part of me.
There were some issues for me. Expecially that Wittpennig dragged out that relationship drama. It was a bit too much up and down for me. They had a major crisis in every single book and I understand that this was somehow realistic, considering the circumstances and especially Domenicos background, but tiring nontheless.
Also, I have two other specific negative points to add here. The ending was cheesy. -SPOILER - I like romance but that was a bit too much for me. It was so fairytale-like and it just didn't fit in for me considering the series was all about hardships and heavy topics like drugs and mental disorders. It seemed to me like somehow everything fell into place without the characters contributing much to it and that was a bit disappointing. I was hoping for something more realistic, something that suited the whole story more. I mean I liked that they ended up togehter, but I was hoping for more depth in this ending in order to fit into this very deep series.
Furthermore I had problems with the religious content. Since I am not much of a believer, that bugged me. I was able to just ignore it because the rest of the story was amazing, but I just don't like the idea of a book for teens that contains christian or any other religious morals. It had a touch of proselytising to me and I think thats not okay in a book for such a young audience. It was like "In order to solve your problems, your best option ist to turn to God and it will work out" - it might give teens the idea that the ONLY way to solve their problem is religion and I think that can be seen as an act of proselytising. And it was not explicitly categorized christian literature, so you don't know about the christian content when you buy it. I completely respect religion and the beliefs of other people, and I know that proselytising wasn't Wittpennigs intention. But it bugged me and that is my personal opinion. I think the book would have managed to be great without the religious content.
And that's all I have to criticise. I loved these books and I am very thankful that I have read them.

Amazing, amazing, amazing. Made me cry a lot and touched me very deeply. Some parts felt a bit rushed, like she wanted to come to an end. But yeah, love it.

Ik heb de hele serie alweer voor de vierde keer gelezen. Ik moet wel toegeven dat m'n ratings natuurlijk na de vierde keer lager zijn dan de eerste keer. Ik vind de hele verhaal lijn vanaf het begin tot het einde geniaal. Het is heel mooi in elkaar gezet en ik heb er niks op aan te merken. Er waren bepaalde delen die ik te gedetailleerd vond, waardoor het niet echt opschoot. Het verhaal is op de prachtigste manier afgesloten. Meerdere vriendinnen hebben deze serie door mij gelezen en die vonden ze allemaal geweldig :). De hele serie geef ik 5 sterren.

Deze boeken serie staat op 1 echt geweldig zo spannend je wild gewoon het einde weten en het blijft echt een verassing. Het is eigenlijk een puzzel en elk boek komt er een puzzel stukje bij. Op de achterkant van het boek staan altijd veel spoilers dus lees de achterkant na het eerste deel niet meer en de laatste zin van het boek Het boek gaat over een AA meisje die hele strikte ouders heeft en een jonge die eigenlijk het tegenovergestelde is van haar. Het meisje probeert ook steeds meer over hem te ontdekken want hij is heel gesloten.

5 Stars are just not enough to rate this book. This final book just has become one of my favorites of all time! It was a stunningly beautiful conclusion to the series. Maya & Domenico have been with me since 6 years now. They have accompanied me since the beginning of my adolescence up until now. They've made laugh, they've made cry, they cheered me up when things weren't going so well in this crazy process of growing up. Saying goodbye to them now is pretty hard for me. Like, I will miss them like crazy even though, I know I can always re-read this series.
These two charecters have gone through SO MUCH. Just so freakin' much. They've had a billion of ups and downs and still sticked together no matter what. Not only have they gone through a huge character development, but they also thaught me that true love really exists and that it can overcome everything.
The final book was so wonderful and beautiful and heart-wrecking. It was hard to put aside and I always had to have a pack of tissues with me whenever I was reading. You just kept on reading, because you weren't sure how these two were going to end up, till the very end.
I always liked Susanne Wittpenning's writing. It made the story so realistic and you could really feel the emotions of the characters. And the epilogue was probably one of the most beautiful things I've ever read. It contained everything that desired and more! I couldn't have wished for a better ending. A faithful conclusion to the most beautiful love story I've ever experienced.

Absolutely love this ending of this phenomenal series. The story is still the most realistic love story I've ever read. It is surprising and very beautiful

Alle Bücher von Maya und Domenico sind meine absolute lieblingsbücher überhaupt. Dass sind die Bücher die mich in die Lesewelt als junges Mädchen begeistert haben. Ich weiss noch, dass ich den 6sten Band in einem Tag durchgelesen habe und beim 9ten Band habe ich so sehr geheult es war nicht normal. Wirklich die beste Buchreihe überhaupt.
Danke Susanne dass du mir die liebe für das Lesen gegeben hast und ich seit 12 Jahren (heute 24) diese liebe habe.

Den neunten Teil von Maya und Domenico fand ich etwas zweit seitig. Es war soo Schade, dass zwischen den beiden alles aus war. Meiner Meinung nach dürfte die Geschichte so nicht enden. Was mir jedoch soo toll gefallen hat, war Kjetil. Ich bin so froh, dass die Autorin eine Art Zweiter Mingo erschaffen hat.

In Mayas Herz stürmt und brodelt es, viele Fragen stehen ungeklärt im Raum. Ein klarer Schnitt, ein Nimmerwiedersehen und Schließen der Vergangenheit scheint die einzig, sinnmachende Option zu sein.

Mag sein, dass es etwas ungewöhnlich ist beim 9. und somit letzten Band der Maya-Reihe einzusteigen, aber mein Lesevergnügen trübte diese Tatsache in keinster Weise!
Ganz im Gegenteil!
Auch wenn anfangs die verschiedenen ungewohnten Namen und familiären Zusammenhänge nur so durch die Zeilen wuselten, so fand ich dennoch Seite für Seite immer besser Zugang zu den unterschiedlichsten Charakteren und Biografien. Nicht lange und sie waren mir vertraut und wuchsen mir sehr ans Herz.
Susanne Wittpennig hat es in ihrem Abschlussband sehr gekonnt verstanden, die verschiedensten Informations- und Erzählstränge geschmeidig zueinander zu führen und abzuschließen. Durch die behutsam eingestreuten Darstellungen, insbesondere vergangener Ereignisse, erhielt ich – als Späteinsteiger.. - ein recht präzises Bild der schwierigen Gesamtsituation und komplexer Zusammenhänge.
Die Autorin hat dies alles in einer angenehm jugendlichen Sprache verfasst, wobei mir hier sehr angenehm auffiel, dass sich die Sprache anpasste und im Zuge der Ereignisse und Erfahrungen reifer und in sich ruhender wurde.
„Maya und Domenico – Liebe heilt alle Wunden“ ist nicht naiv oder gar kitschig, sondern voll Wärme, tiefer Zuneigung und Liebe. Auch wenn rational denkende Erwachsene sicherlich hin und wieder tief durchatmen müssen, so ist diese Geschichte dennoch ein Hoffnungsquell, macht Mut niemals aufzugeben, sei die Vergangenheit und Gegenwart noch so schmerzhaft und beängstigend.
Es waren nicht nur Maya und Domenico, die mich beeindruckten. Hier kämpfen sich eine ganze Reihe Menschen tapfer und glaubensvoll durch ihr nicht sehr einfaches Leben. Zeigen auf, dass ihr Weg unterschiedlich entbehrungsreich und dennoch einzigartig, lebens- und liebenswert ist. Die einen mehr, die anderen weniger...
Die Fülle an Rückschlägen und Erlebnissen in der Vergangenheit der einzelnen Protagonisten hat mich streckenweise sehr mitgenommen und hätte ich in dieser Konzentration gar nicht erwartet. Mehr davon hätte es für mich auch nicht mehr sein dürfen!
Insbesondere das anfänglich ruppig/wortkarge Verhalten von Domenico und seinem Halbbruder Kjetil hatten mich zunächst verstimmt.
Damit versöhnt hat mich jedoch der wunderbare Epilog, der wohl einer der gelungensten des Jahres ist!

Ach du meine Güte, dieses letzte Band ist richtig gut, was ich echt nicht erwartet hätte. Ich komm gerade gar nicht auf mein Leben klar und bin total aufgewühlt. Es passiert so viel! Ich fand dieses Buch viel viel angenehmer zu lesen, da Maja so gut wie immer alleine ist und man diese ständige Streiten nicht hat. Und der Schluss ist sooo gut und schön und perfekt. :)

Definitiv meine einer meiner Lieblingsreihen. Die beiden sind durch dick und dünn gegangen und man hat so mitgefühlt, ob bei einem Streit oder bei Schlechten Nachrichten. Es war herzzerreißende und wirklich spannend.

Der Erfolg einer dysfunktionalen Beziehung wie diese ist höchst fragwürdig, außerdem war der Schluss viel zu märchenhaft für meinen Geschmack. Jedoch eine interessante Liebesgeschichte insgesamt.
