While not a scholarly or academic article, this essay is a good introductory source for people wanting to know more about the asexuality spectrum, with a focus on demisexuality.
It's something approachable and easy to read for those who aren’t well versed on the subject of human sexuality. The writer does not have degrees or impressive credentials; she's speaking from her own experiences and from what she's learned in her personal research. It doesn't mean it's not useful or wrong, I was just looking fora more convincing thing. These are all basics, good for who wants to have a bit of knowledge in this subject.
Really good introductory read, especially for those questioning their sexuality or not familiar with Asexuality and more important Demisexuality. Definitely important for those in HS going through a tough time of not "fitting in" and unsure why they don't.
Really good introduction to some people. I like how she divided attraction and desire (both having primary and secondary features).
A surprisingly insightful part for me was about labels. I've been very anti-label, but I think this explanation helps.
She challenged labels being "unnecessary" as maybe being unnecessary for some but useful for others. Her example was labeling plants for botanists being useless to non-botanists the majority of the time. She adds other reasons, but this one was more unique.
Pretty alright. I do wish she took out the survey stuff. It is fine to be strictly theoretical instead of adding insignificant survey data (80 people is not enough).
