**This review was originally posted on my old blog for a blog tour on September 9th, 2014 and can also be found on my new blog Bookish Wanderlove.**

**4.5 Stars!!

Opening Lines
The stark white hallways smelled like cleaning fluid as I navigated my way through the throngs of students. I glanced down at the piece of white paper with the number 301 written on it and looked back up. Down right panic coursed through my veins when I realized the lockers didn’t have numbers on them; only weird symbols that looked as if they belonged in a geometry book. I was totally screwed.”

The Good
…she soon finds out normal isn’t written in her DNA.”

Oh Sky, I kind of giggled at how far from normal her life really is! The second I saw the cover for The Accidental Kiss I just knew I had to read it. I mean have you seen that cover? Go ahead; scroll back up at look at it. Hot right?! I love the pose of the characters, and the smoking background and skulls are a perfect touch for this paranormal book. I honestly had my fingers tripled crossed hoping I would make it onto the tour, and it was my Waiting on Wednesday pick on my other blog. This book sounded amazing and I knew there would be a lot of people signing up. Thank you InkSlinger PR!!

I devoured this book as soon as I received the ARC, I read it so fast that a couple of days later I had to re-read it. I did some research and found out that Nicole has been working on this story for 5 years, this just goes to prove that handwork really pays off! I loved this book so much. I don't read a lot of Paranormal books because I'm a picky individual but this one is making it onto my paranormal favourites list! The world building was executed perfectly, which is something a lot of authors struggle with in the fantasy and paranormal genre. There is a unique and interesting combination of zombies (omg, yes) and magic/voodoo that really works out well in this story.

Now let's talk about the characters, they are just PERFECT! Sky is an all around great character, she can handle her own and does a really good job at adapting to her new lifestyle, plus I loved her attitude. Now Daemon...can I have him? Please?! If I was to ever come across a real life Daemon I would jump him in a heartbeat! The chemistry between them is great, and the sexual tension. OMG! I had the biggest grin on my face while reading certain parts of this! And the little one liners Daemon would give had me laughing so hard. Daemon and Sky were seriously a perfect combination that really complemented each other. The only thing I didn't like, and it's really minor, was the ending! For me it came too soon and now I'm impatiently waiting for book two! I'll be stalking Nicole's Goodreads page & Website until I find a release date :).
“Due to my random intellect, the silence didn’t last long. “Did you know kangaroos have three vaginas?” All three pairs of eyes landed on me.”

Lasting Impression
Overall, The Accidental Kiss did not disappoint me! I cannot wait to continue with this series, seriously I just can't wait. I also plan on reading more by Nicole Simone, I really love her writing style. I'll be re-reading this again later this month, yes I loved it THAT much!

This is not your ordinary zombie story, or even your typical voodoo story either. There is something completely different about this book that sets it apart from the rest of the books that are out there. Nicole Simone manages to create a world that easy to get lost in. I couldn’t put the book down after I turned the first page.

Sky Noel has lived in Los Angeles for most of her life but after the tragic death of her best friend her mother moves her to Castor, Louisiana. Sky just wants to get through school and be as normal as possible. Make friends, get good grades, and go to college. But that is just not in the cards for Sky. Her mother drops a bomb on her that she is Chosen One is a religion that is pretty much forgotten. Oh yea and the boy she met in school is a zombie.

That’s right. A zombie.
Daemon is a zombie. And a sexy one at that. He is determined to do whatever he can to keep Sky safe. Because a psychopathic voodoo priest is trying to bring back a section of voodoo that sacrifices chosen ones. This is where the story becomes different. Daemon might be a zombie but he is not your normal gross, shuffling, brainless zombie. He is immortal, has special powers and he is good looking. The only problem is that he died 60 or so years ago and his soul is in a jar on the psycho priest’s shelf.

Daemon and Sky’s relationship was pretty hilarious. There was so much chemistry between them that they couldn’t do anything but act on it. Daemon was frustrating and arrogant but in the way that we all love. Sky was sarcastic and funny while trying to ignore how attracted she was to Daemon. Their relationship really took a back seat to the storyline for me. I was always wondering what was going to happen next. What other twists can the author throw at us. There were moments that took me completely by surprise and that is always the best feeling.

This book was a very interesting read. I thought that the ending was a little abrupt for me. I can only hope that there will be more to this series. And if there is I can’t wait to read more.

"Sky, my intention wasn't to reject you." His eyes blazed with fire. "I wanted to devour you but now is not the time. Not like this."

"It was a gift when the priest told me if I fell in love, I would die. Finally, the nightmares would no longer haunt me and there was only one person who had ever truly captured my soul." His gaze pinned me into place. "The girl who changed everything."

~ Daemon Henley

Sky Noel was born to die. Of course she didn't know that for the first seventeen years of her life.

Sky was born with a gift, "the eye of knowledge". Basically, it means she has the gift of seeing the future. Only Sky's gift has to be activated by kissing her true love. It probably would've been good to have this knowledge before she met the very attractive zombie that was sent to well, kill her for the Priest of Santeria.

Santeria is a religion that mixes Catholicism and Voodoo. That's some combination right? Anyway, the Priest of Santeria isn't very powerful anymore. So he has some minions of super strong zombies, but he's just not as revered as he wants to be. Guess what he needs for this to happen? Sky's blood, and not just a little, he needs to drain her.

So how does the devastatingly handsome Daemon Henley fit into this picture? Well after he was tricked into becoming a zombie, he was sent to bring Sky to the Santeria Priest. Only instead of kidnapping Sky, he falls in love with her. PS...there's a reason Daemon shouldn't be in love with Sky.

After that incident, Daemon makes it his mission to keep Sky safe. Although Sky's mom doesn't believe that and wants her to stay away from the zombie boy. Unfortunately, Sky is drawn to Daemon and there's like an electrical between the two of them. You can literally feel it through the book. They want each other badly, and while their encounters are very tame, you know that if they finally get together, their chemistry is going to explode. Of course they have to stay alive for any of this to happen.

Once the Santeria Priest's minions start getting too close, Daemon and Sky run away to New Orleans. They find themselves at the home of Mrs. Ruth, a voodoo healer and the woman that saved Daemon when he left the Santeria enclave. At this point we learn a secret that can possibly tear Daemon and Sky apart. During this time they battle zombies and try to come up with a plan to strip the Santeria Priest of his power.

Sky is definitely a strong female character. She's faced with her own mortality and yet the girl never loses her sense of humor. It's not only her chemistry with Daemon that's appealing, because even though they're wildly attracted to each other, there's more to them than just sex.

Daemon is absolutely swoon worthy in every way. He's beautiful, sexy and he is fiercely protective of Sky. He tells her the Santeria Priest took his soul, but he definitely has not lost what makes him human. I know I'm a sucker for love at first sight stories, but the way he talks about seeing Sky for the first time gave me chill bumps. And whether she knew it or not, when she saw Daemon at school for the first time it was the same for her. Sky tells her mom she can't have the gift of seeing the future, because she's kissed lots of boys and well nothing. *Whispering loudly* I think she was waiting for Daemon.

Do these two actually get to kiss? I'm not telling. I will tell you when they finally come to the final battle with the Priest of Santeria, you're not going to be able to put the book down. You'll have to find out what happens. You might bite your nails a bit and even shed a tear. But you'll have to read The Accidental Kiss to find out anything else.

I'm giving this book a four lip smack review. I really liked the story and I loved Sky and Daemon together!!

****ARC happily read for an honest review****

I am excited to review a paranormal this time around. I must confess it has been a while for the paranormal romance category. I am a sucker for high school romance and just heroines that find out they have some crazy existence in a paranormal world. Oh and don’t forget about the zombies, voodoo priests and Santeria, oh my!

Sky is the new girl in a Louisiana high school from Southern California. She makes new friends and has caught the eye of Daemon, the schools heartthrob. “Daemon Henley is like a beacon for girls“ to be exact. Drawn to Daemon, Sky can’t seem to figure out what exactly he wants with her. Sky is introduced to her new fate/existence in the religion of Santeria. And these two have to team together to defeat the voodoo priest that wants one thing from Sky.

I couldn’t help but swoon over Daemon. He isn’t the typical tall dark and handsome. He has sandy blonde hair and ocean blue eyes. Similar to a hit paranormal series, Daemon is ice cold and is soulless. A zombie is what he is. But unlike the other zombies that are…well…dead, he finds life in Sky. “You do things to me, Sky, that make me feel human again.” A dark secret is revealed later in the story and it brings the story full circle. It brought a whole new understanding to the character of Daemon, and I just loved it, as heartbreaking as it was. Daemon is definitely unlike the other zombies.

I couldn’t get enough of this book. I enjoyed learning about the various characters, especially the voodoo priest/priestess and the zombies. I also loved being educated about their weaknesses and the reason why they became who they are. Nicole did a great job at allowing the reader to explore this world and it was scary realistic. The Accidental Kiss is a romantic paranormal story and it held its own without all the steamy love scenes to catch the readers attention. I enjoyed everything about this story. The only negative about this book is towards the end of the story, I felt it was rushed. I would have liked it to have a bit more action. 4 Smooches for Accidental Kiss by Nicole Simone.

Initial Thoughts: This book was very good I'm telling you. This was not my first paranormal book but it was my book with having zombies, well, good looking zombies at least and then add in all the other paranormal aspects and it made for one great story.

The Characters & Story: Sky moved from Los Angeles to Caster, Louisiana after her best friend died to get a fresh start. But moving did nothing but add only craziness to Sky's life. At Sky's new school, she meets Daemon which is only the start of all the secrets and danger. After meeting him a few times and having strange things happen, she realizes things aren't what they seem. Daemon for one is a zombie, a voodoo priest wants to kill her...and then there's this slight problem that if Daemon were to ever fall in love he will die. So basically, Sky and Daemon have many, many problems and obstacles they need to get through if they ever want to make things work out for them in the end.

From the start the book was very engaging. As my first zombie book I wanted to see how that whole aspect would work but with that aside, I wanted to keep reading because the world building and plot was done so very well that I couldn't stop reading. I had to know what would happen next and how things would work out if they ever did.

The Romance: From the start, Daemon wants to protect Sky because the voodoo priest wants to kill her, but he left out a few, major secrets. And of course, along the way of working together to stop the voodoo priest and figure out what's going on, Sky and Daemon get closer to each but the thing was Daemon didn't tell her about his curse of falling in love right away...

I liked Sky and Daemon together. They worked really well together, they just had (paranormal) issues they sometimes need to work through.

End Thoughts: The Accidental Kiss was very engaging, had great world building, and was a lot of fun to read. And I now like zombies. 4.5 stars.

There are a lot of similarities between The Accidental Kiss and other young adult paranormal novels I've read recently, right down to an incredibly sexy, cocky guy with green eyes named Daemon. But there are enough differences that this book stands on its own. I love the Santeria angle, and the fact that it's set in southern Louisiana is another plus for me. And yes, the Sublime song does dance happily in my head throughout the book. When they go into the Cat's Meow in the French Quarter, complete with girls dancing in cages, I actually squealed. It's one of my all-time favorite places in New Orleans!

Plot
The plot has a lot of unique angles for the genre. I loved that I never knew what was going to happen next. Where the story really works is in the world Nicole Simone has created. She's done a lot of work building a realm for her characters and she doles out information, as necessary, to move the story forward. While I like the romantic angle between Daemon and Sky, there isn't anything really new there. And that might be what bothered me the most. His brooding, her lust for him, his determined need to protect her, the obstacles that keep them apart...it all felt too familiar. But because the other elements in the story book so well, I was able to overlook that aspect and enjoy the story.

Characters
Even though I found Sky and Daemon to be sort of typical for the genre, I thought the supporting cast was fun and more developed than I'm used to. Just because Sky and Daemon weren't anything particularly unique, doesn't mean I didn't like them or root for them, because I did.

Bottom Line
If you like young adult paranormal, you should enjoy The Accidental Kiss. It has enough unique elements to make it very enjoyable and enough plot twists to keep you guessing.

I've been on a paranormal kick lately and just can't really get into anything else, so this was EXACTLY what I needed! I love when I start a book and it keeps me sucked in that everything else around me seems to melt away. When I hear the word zombie I automatically think the moaning scary looking dead guys that eat brains, but Nicole Simone gives you zombies that make your mouth water! So I can now add a zombie to my list of favorite book boyfriends!!!

Sky sniffers a tragic loss that ends up sending her and her mom to a small town called Castor for a fresh start. At her new school she meets the infamous Daemon who shakes her up in a way she's never felt before. After a series of strange meetings Sky realizes there is something different about him, but what he tells her blows her mind!! Daemon does everything he can to protect the girl he was supposed to help kill and Sky isn't sure if she can trust him, but doesn't really have much of a choice t first.

Sky and Daemon start getting closer and she stops fighting her growing feelings, only to learn that Daemon has a secret that will shattered her already fragile world. It's a secret that she's can't forgive, but Daemon is determined to help her live. More secrets are revealed and hearts tested as the voodoo priest as the voodoo priest does whatever it takes to get Sky.

Sky and Daemon's story is very well written and will keep you engaged from chapter one. There wasn't a moment I was reading that I was bored. Thier story is full of sadness, friendship, betrayal, lust, anger, and most important is love! The Accidental Kiss is part of a series but also has an ending that's not really cliffhanger so you don't have to worry about being on pins and needles between books! Absolutely loved it and HIGHLY reccomend it for any fans of paranormal romance!

This is the second book I have read by this author. This story is a paranormal romance. The sysnopsis of this book intrigued me! As I started reading, the story of Sky just pulled me in, along with the electrically charged attraction between Sky and Daemon! I am not going to reveal any spoilers, but this book to me was really awesome! I loved the fact that it took off in a different direction than some paranormal romances. As the events unfolded, I kept turning the page because I wanted to see what was going to happen with Sky and Daemon! As the synopsis reveals, events start to happen to Sky after moving with her mom to Castor, and Daemon is there trying to protect her while keeping his own secrets closely guarded. Sky's normal life is thrown into a dizzying world of voodoo, zombies, along with the threat to her life. She discovers things about her life have been kept from her by the people closest to her. Trying to put her trust in Daemon, after his secrets are revealed, sends her on a quest against time for the answers she needs for her survival. This is going to be a series so we are left with a cliffhanger at the end. As events unfolded at the end, I was pleasantly surprised and I was left wanting to know more! If you do not mind book series than you must give this book a chance! If you are not a fan of cliffhangers then this may not be the book for you. I will definitely be waiting for the next book in the series to be released. I gave this book 5-stars because it kept me intrigued and wanting to know what was going to happen next. The author kept the flow of the book going and I never felt bored.

The plot of this novel has been in my mind for the past five years. After countless revisions, tears and curse words, The Accidental Kiss was formed. I have never been more proud of a novel I have written. It was a true labor of love but a fun one. Thanks to Daemon, zombies have never looked so hot!

You can now pre-order The Accidental Kiss on iTunes and Barnes and Noble.

Can't wait for August 12!

Can we say sexy zombies??? The Accidental Kiss by Nicole Simone is amazing. I LOVE Sky, a 17 year old girl forced to move from LA to small town Louisiana, only to discover Castor, LA is more exciting then she could have ever hoped. Especially after spotting the devastingly, albeit bad boy, Daemon. Sky quickly discovers she was born with a gift, and Daemon is sworn to be by her side. The Accidental Kiss is a phenom al read in the paranormal romance genre and I cannot WAIT for the sequel... I must know what happens AFTER... 5 stars all the way!!!

I liked the story overall. It was written decently and it had compelling events in the story that made it a fascinating read. I wasn't bored and the pacing was adequate, those are two good things. Sometimes I did feel a scene was too abrupt or short but I prefer that over a long exposition any day. I just would have liked to bask in the moments a little longer than what was given. Such as the funny or romantic moments. *sigh*

I think it was good how the story kept going without seeming forced. There was a few convenient things in the story that happened which sort of bothered me but not enough to throw me off while reading. It was just a little annoying but when I think about it, it makes sense but I just wish there was another way to solve it. Still they won't bother you terribly while reading the story so don't let that deter you from reading. There was a point where I thought the story would end because I have read stories that ended at that moment but it didn't. I was so glad because I didn't want it to end there. Thank you for having a full arc with a beginning, middle, and end!

The main characters were likable to me but were the standard paranormal heroine and love interest. They do seem like characters I've seen before in terms of personality from other books I've read. I'm not against those types but I do wish there was a little more quirkiness to them to help make them stand out. I did enjoy their banter. I always enjoy that with characters. I am glad that most of the characters were used or had a relevance to the story. As a writer there were a few characters that I feel like the story probably could have used to make more interesting but it wasn't too bad. Sometimes you just need some regular secondary characters.

I enjoyed the twists on some of the races like the Zombies but I wish there was a little more about Voodoo because it could have been a little more interesting to me. I like magic so seeing more of that would have been great! Definitely a little more history of everything since it was a little vague through out the whole story.

The climax of the story was good and the ending somewhat predictable for me. I definitely thought the end was too short. I wanted a little more after it all but I can see why the author would end it there. It just left me, as a reader, slightly unsatisfied as to what happens next. I'm not sure if this book is a stand alone or if it will be a series but it doesn't really leave me craving for a sequel.

Still, if you enjoy paranormal stories with romance, action, and adventure I urge you to pick this story up! This is a story with voodoo, magic, and mystical occurrences that take place in the South so if that piques your interest then read this story. It's a cute and fairly quick read that you'll enjoy.

3 out of 5 rating for me!

I’ve had a particular method of reviewing. I finish a book and I take the night or at the very least a few hours before I review so that I can compartmentalize all of my thoughts so that when the review is written and finished it makes the right amount of sense and truly reflects that which I’ve read. I do it for the author and also for myself (as an author) and for anyone who might stumble upon it and read it.

I can’t do that here and this is why.

Everything worked for me here and I had to come in and just tell the rest of the world about it right away.

I am a huge paranormal romance fan, but I’m also a picky paranormal romance fan in that, it needs to be character driven at the very least because the worlds often times being out of this world, you need something to grip you and keep you involved. The author did that in spades here.

While at first the character of Daemon started off weak to me, almost unreal in terms of how “beautiful” he was explained to be, the author quickly went to work erasing that image from my brain entirely. Suddenly there was meat on his bones, something that I could grasp onto that would make him appear more “human” to me than what he actually was. Which I’m telling you, if you read the book, you’re gonna love because I really didn’t see that one coming either. Well played Ms. Simone. Well played.

Love a strong heroine in any book I read and while Sky had a lot of badass moments for me, she was also very human in her responses which made me really like her. She didn’t appear weak and whiny, which does happen in a lot of books like this, but she wasn’t completely unfeeling and robotic either. I would have been like Emily and Lucy were in this book I think. Drawn to her because she was likeable.

Now let’s focus on the plot here. I can’t sit here and say I’ve ever read anything quite like this before. Another point for the author. It wasn’t a recycled plot line. It was original and felt that way throughout the entire thing. Sure, the idea presented about the main characters being “made for each other” may seem remotely similar to other books, but what brings this all about did not. It was a fun ride and one I’m glad I took. I found myself so invested in the plot and the world that by the time 75% came around and something happened I didn’t see coming, I wanted to throw my kindle. I was yelling at it, which I have to say, is a first for me. So again, I say to the author, well played and thanks for the mini heart attack.

I’m a stickler for a story that has a great pace. Not one that starts out with a bang and then slows down to a turtle or vice versa, but one that moves at an even speed throughout the entire thing and this one did. I didn’t need to put the book down because of it lagging no one time throughout and I was impressed by that given that a lot of paranormal stories have moments of dragging. I could not flip pages fast enough here.

As for it being part of a series. It is and the ending is one that is open ended. It’s complete and wonderful, but also leaves the door open for even more with this couple and their band of friends in the future, which was another happy moment for me. I felt like I got a complete book with the promise of more in the future and not a second of the angst that comes with a heavy cliff-hanger.

Have I said anything remotely thrilling enough to sell this book to you? I hope so because it was worth every dollar spent and every hour spent reading. It’s a must have for any paranormal romance fan, but it’s also for fans of straight up paranormal even though there was romance present because it wasn’t just the romance that drew me in, it was the world, the characters and the fight that ensued.

Absolutely Phenomenal read and I cannot wait to see more with this couple.

My first outing with this author will not be the last. I absolutely love the way she writes and can’t wait to read more from her, paranormal or otherwise.

When I saw the cover of "The Accidental Kiss", I knew I had to read it. The cover is HOT and mysterious. I love the graveyard with the skulls, and the coloring is awesome. Mael Designs really did a wonderful job with the cover. Now, it is time to gush about the book.
From the very first page of the book, I was hooked. I thought the use of voodoo and zombies was really unique and an interesting twist for a paranormal book. The suspense of the plot made me devour the book, and the cliffhanger ending made me wish the second book was already available! The day the sequel comes out, I will make sure I have the book in my possessions.
Sky is a very likable main character. She was kind, but she also had an attitude. Sky's attitude definitely added some great humor to the book. The one quality I loved about Sky was how loyal she was to her friends. She would do anything for her friends, and I really admired that about her. The one thing that annoyed me about Sky was that she tried to distance herself from Daemon. Now, this might have just bothered me because I am a hopeless romantic and I desperately wanted them together. However, she quickly got over that (much to my happiness).

"My whole life I had never met anyone like Daemon because, let's be honest, he was one of a kind. He was passionate, relentless, overprotective, and fearless. I wanted to smack him and kiss him within a five second time frame. He was everything I hadn't known I was looking for."

Now, it's time to talk about Daemon. Oh, Daemon. I loved him so much. I want my own Daemon, because he is perfect. It is charming and gorgeous, which is always a great combination. As Sky puts it above, Daemon really is one of a kind. Daemon was witty, and he had some lines that made me laugh out loud.

"I assessed the amount of his injuries. They weren't awful but I hadn't seen underneath his t-shirt yet.
"Would you mind if I lifted up your shirt?"
"Always trying to get in my pants," he quipped.
I was glad to see that Daemon still had his personality in tact."

I love how much he obviously cared about Sky, and how he would do anything for her. They had a really strong relationship with a lot of sexual tension. I am pretty sure my kindle was about to catch on fire during some of the scenes.

"I tugged a lock of his hair, coaxing a smile out of him. Daemon clamped his hands around my wrists and held my arms above my head. Lust blossomed between my thighs as he looked at me with enough fire to set the room ablaze.
"You undo me," he breathed.
He nibbled on my bottom lip as he weakened me with kisses. He let go of my hands so that they could roam the hard apex of his muscles. They ripped underneath my touch."

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It had suspense, humor, action, and romance. The incorporation of zombies and voodoo made the book very captivating. I would recommend this paranormal romance to anyone looking for a more unique genre within paranormal romance. I am looking forward to reading the sequel!

Thank you to InkSlinger PR and author Nicole Simone for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review!

The Accidental Kiss by Nicole Simone is a well written story that weaves unique voodoo mythology together with romance and danger.

Following teenager Sky Noel, The Accidental Kiss sees Sky move to the small town of Caster in Louisiana and slowly begin to learn the surprising truth about her heritage when a chance encounter with an alluring boy at her new school named Daemon shakes her hold on reality. As Sky learns the truth behind her DNA, a powerful voodoo priest will stop at nothing to sacrifice Sky for his own nefarious purposes and Daemon takes it upon himself to protect Sky, even though he’s more connected to the voodoo priest and Sky’s past than he’s willing to admit.

I have to be honest; I’m at a real mixed mind when it comes to this book. To begin with the concept was very promising and I loved the idea of the unique voodoo mythology hinted at within the story, but I don’t feel like there was enough of it to satisfy me. The premise held such possibility but personally I would have enjoyed exploring the heart of voodoo a tad more.

I did find that Simone had an excellent writing technique however. Her writing was flowing and detailed, with plenty of entertaining dialogue shared between her characters. The story was fast paced and forward moving, but my biggest issue was that I felt the relationship between Sky and Daemon was too much too soon. It seemed rushed, and rather than allowing something to unfold over time and develop between them, they seemed to feel so deeply out of the blue.

Unfortunately I just didn’t believe it, nor did I feel it, although I really wanted to. There was no build up to their "epic love" and I couldn’t believe that two people could love each other the way Sky and Daemon supposedly did after only a few days of knowing one another. After all, the entire book took place in around a week and at that point in time the two of them are so deeply "in love" that I felt it was being shoved down my throat.

I liked Sky and thought she had a lot of attitude. She was someone I could have really adored as a protagonist if not for the obsession she had over Daemon, something that became a bit grating after a while. Still, she was decent enough to follow and had a lot of interesting dialogue within the story.

Overall, The Accidental Kiss was a bit of a mixed bucket for me. It was readable, however with a lot of promise that fell short. Whether I’ll continue on with the series remains to be seen, however if you enjoy paranormal romance you may just enjoy this!

I'm going to be upfront, right here at the beginning, with this review. If not for the ending to this book, I would have rated this one higher. I loved the characters, the world building and the storyline. I thought the author's voice was engaging and kept me right in the story with the characters. But the ending of the book left me with my mouth hanging open wondering WTF just happened.

We meet Sky Noel as she and her mother begin the next chapter in their lives in Caster, Louisiana. It's her mother's hometown and she's hoping it's a place that will rid her of the ugliness she's been living since her best friend died in a car accident. Everyone at her new school is friendly, with the exception of the hottest thing since sliced bread, Daemon. He's rude, he's pushy and he's the only thing that's going to protect Sky from the evil coming after her.

We learn fairly early on what Daemon is and what he bartered in order to break free of the Voodoo Priest that holds his soul. But as Daemon protects Sky from those that want her blood and finds himself falling for her, I wouldn't help but hope their plan to rid themselves of the Voodoo priest worked and they release Daemon. Sky and Daemon balance each other. She humanizes Daemon, helping him to remember what he was before he was turned and he ground Sky, helping her realize how much more to her there is.

Nicole Simone gives us a fast paced, enjoyable read. I loved the characters and the setting for the story. But as I said in the beginning, the ending did me in. I was invested in these characters and what they were trying to do. When I reached the last sentence, I had to wonder if I maybe my review copy was missing something. Did the epilogue get left out? Is there another book coming that will explain how this ended? Of course, it's only now (as I write this review) that I see this is the first book in a series. So here to hoping, with fingers crossed, more will be explained in book 2.

3.5 Happy Stars in my Sky!

I'm a big fan of paranormal romances with a hint of drama, intrigue and teen romance. This is exactly what The Accidental Kiss provides. It's difficult to describe Nicole Simone's story without giving too much away, but be prepared for a lot of the supernatural and a fun mixture of teen drama and ahem *zombies* (well sort of)!

I liked Sky (her few teenage strops aside) and felt that she dealt with all the reveals and drama well. I wasn't as convinced by her Mum because I'm not a fan of adults keeping huge secrets in books, because it never ends well. I liked Daemon (although I couldn't see past JLA's alien of the same name) and found him really entertaining. He wasn't at all what I expected.

The action moves fast and the Simone does a good job building the tension. The descriptions were good and I liked the world-building, which is always different with a new series. The magic and zombie stuff was fun and gave for a clever back story. I'm not too sure about certain age differences but in paranormal it seems to be more acceptable.

I enjoyed The Accidental Kiss although I would have liked a slightly more developed ending. There is a cliffy of sorts so be warned, but I didn't mind it too much here (I managed to miss that it was the first instalment in a series until I finished the story). Daemon gets my vote!

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review!

You all have heard me say it enough times: I don't do zombies. But these were different. The zombies weren't mindless creatures set on eating brains and destruction. They were simply humans who had traded their soul to a voodoo priest. They must do the priest's bidding in hope that they will one day re-obtain their souls.

Oh, Daemon. I love you, but sometimes I question your logic. smh. Daemon is cute and enigmatic. He mysteriously shows up when Sky needs his help. This confuses Sky because her mother has informed her that zombies are evil and that she stay away from him. Together, the two must embark on a journey to stop the voodoo priest who both owns Daemon's soul and wants to kill Sky.

I can't wait for the sequel. There were so many twists and turns in this book and it was well written. I especially liked the voodoo stuff. You don't often see paranormal books that are centered around voodoo.

I found that this story seemed to move extremely fast and the characters, especially Sky, seem to be inordinately accepting of the reality of zombies with hardly any questioning of the situation. I would have liked to see more story development to really flesh out the backstory and the characters. The storyline itself is a great idea, I just wish it didn't feel so rushed.

I did like the characters that were introduced in this book, I just thought knowing more about them-especially Daemon-would have raised my enjoyment level of the read. Given what we did learn about Daemon's character, I will say he was my favorite of the book :-)

A good read for the paranormal romance crowd, though don't expect the typical zombies you find in most zombie books (I don't want to say more and spoil anything for you). Though the main characters are still in high school, I would recommend this for 17+, and give it 3 stars.

This was a really amazing change to the paranormal scene. I loved it. Who knew zombies could be so hot! I loved Daemon. This was a very great story. Romance, tragedy, friendship, love, jealousy, and so much more. So many things packed into this book to leave you on edge and wanting more. The ending was great but it left me begging to read on. I want so much more. Getting lost in this book was no problem. I found myself laughing with the girls and swooning over Daemon right along with them. This was such an easy story to relate to. The characters are beautifully written and made so easily to relate with. I am so ready for book 2 in this series to come out. An amazing read for all paranormal lovers out there.

I was just not that impressed. There was a lot of built up tension throughout the story, but then the ending only lasted about 10 pages. The ending was pretty dramatic, and I should have cried or felt something, but since the story was so rushed I didn't get any time to build a relationship with the characters. When the ending happened, I just didn't care, and that's terrible. This book had a lot of potential for me, but in the end I just wasn't impressed. Regardless, I definitely encourage you to pick it up and judge it for yourself. I am sure there are tons of people out there who absolutely loved it, unfortunately I was just not one of them.

I loved reading this book. It is a totally different take on zombies and voodoo than I have read previously and it was a great change. I love books with zombies but this is definitely the first one I've read where the zombie was hot, and Daemon is one sexy zombie. I loved all the characters in this book and their personalities. Nicole Simone did a great job writing this book and keeps you guessing what will happen next. I can't wait to read the next book in this series!

I would recommend this to everyone! Just the right amount of romance and action. The only complaint was it was a cliffhanger
