Wonderful read

In all my 84 years I have never read such a book as this one. The stories spread out in chapters cover a number of interests while interconnected in an easy to read manner. The cover 1800c life in Australia from prisons to the gold rush mania. Very difficult to put down when needs must. Enjoy, I certainly did.

I read this book as a teenager and it made me fall in love with Australia. I love the author's writing that takes me back to new colony, gold exploration and their native people. This book follows story of Diamond and other characters. Its beautiful and very interesting read.
