This book follows the previous protagonist's best friend who faces a problem many teenagers have. She is in love with her best friend's boyfriend. Just like in the previous book I like that fact that the language in pretty simple and the reader can connect with the characters. The story itself is appealing enough to keep you reading to see what will happen next. It sure has some 'cliche' things but they didn't really bother me much.
polly has a crush on this guy. witch is Olie and he is really rude and shallow. but then she starts like this guy sam how is smart, and caring. but for some reason she can't stop thinking about olie.
Ο λόγος για την Πόλι Νέλσον, την καλύτερη φίλη της Λάιλα στο νέο της σχολείο, που υποπέφτει στο μεγαλύτερο αμάρτημα που μπορεί μία έφηβη. Να ερωτευτεί το αγόρι της κολλητής της! Μην κοροϊδευόμαστε... όλοι μας ήμασταν κάποτε έφηβοι και λίγο έως πολύ, έχουμε ζήσει κάποιο ανάλογο δράμα και ξέρουμε πολύ καλά πως ποτέ δεν έχουν καλή κατάληξη τέτοιες ιστορίες. Και σαν να μην έφτανε η ήδη περίπλοκη κατάσταση στην οποία η Πόλι έχει βρεθεί, εμφανίζεται και ο Σαμ για να κάνει τα πράγματα ακόμα χειρότερα, αφού τραβάει την προσοχή της και το ερωτικό της ενδιαφέρον μοιράζεται. Ή μήπως, δεν είναι ακριβώς έτσι τα πράγματα; Και σε ότι αφορά τη Λάιλα, ποια μπορεί να είναι η εξέλιξη της μεταξύ τους σχέσης;
ok I will be honest I was a little disappointed with this book because of the length and storyline. First of all the length was pretty short only being 200 pages and I felt like the story had been cut off at the end of the book with polly saying bye to Sam like that. But putting all of that aside it was a really enjoyable book to read it just annoyed me in places. I would recommend this book to teenagers and young adults.
Its half term at Heartside bay and the kids are having a beach partyto start off the holidays, Polly really likes Ollie but hes with her best friend Lila and Polly would never go against girl code, when Polly and Ollie have a argument Polly storms off to think things through. When she gets stranded on the rockswith the tide rushing in she panics. Her saviour a very handsome boy Sam, Shes never seen him in heartside before. When Lila and Ollie realise shes missing they start searching for her, Polly doesnt want her friends knowing about Sam, she asks him to wait, but when she returns hes gone, will she ever see this stranger again? and can she stop thinking about Ollie? A fun quick read, my daughter loved these when she was a teen so i decided to give them a go. great for teens with plenty of drama.
The trouble with Love is about a girl named, Polly and her friend are on spring break. Her friend, Lila is dating a boy named Ollie. Polly has a big crush on Ollie. Polly is strolling the beach alone and see a boy and he is on a boat. They talk for a while and something happens. Polly goes through a crazy adventure while her parents are divorced, Her friend is fighting with her boyfriend, and some problems of her own.
so cute !!! And although this is my first time reading it, the novel gave me a sense of nostalgia. It's a cute YA romance with all those high school angsty feelings. Being only 200 words, it's easily digestible and fast-paced. Polly is the epitome of a teenage girl, and I think she would do better being on her own for a bit. Ollie did not have to do Lila (Polly's best friend, and his girlfriend) dirty like that, and Polly has to get a grip, WHAT ARE YOU DOING CRUSHING ON YOUR BESTFRIEND'S BOYFRIEND!!! Anyway, #justiceforLila.

I read this book I would say in the 5th grade? Sorry I’m new to this app and I’m currently filling in every book I have read which isn’t a lot a barely got into reading. With that being said. I just remember really liking this book and smiling to myself about. That’s really all I could say sorry
I think it was really good and it was about this girl falling in love with this guy dating her best friend and I recommend it to people who love romance.
Quick, easy read! I didn’t even read the first book of this series, but I was still able to follow along. It was a bit cliche, but overall good for a young teen romance
the end made no freakin sense like it just came outta someone’s asscrack. im currently bamboozled abt which dude she got with in the end. but the meet cute was cute but then also free lila

I loved Polly in the first book, and I tried so hard to like her in this one but she was just so two dimensional. With her anxiety over outfits, I liked that because it made her three dimensional.
But then she meets Sam, and I liked their joking around. It's adorable. But, then making out after having known each other for five minutes, but they didn't really know each other because they didn't know anything about each other.
And the thing with Ollie, oh seriously? I was getting soooooooooooooo annoyed with his attitude during the double date.
And all the while she is dating Sam, any time Ollie is mentioned or she sees him. She instantly forgets about Sam and does into a "teen girl fit"* over how much she likes Ollie.
(*Also, as a teen girl, I am not judging. Or anything. But it's still annoying when she has this other great guy that clearly loves her.)
Now, the end.. She is basically waiting for Lila and Ollie to break up so that she can date him. *eye roll* Which she kept saying throughout the book, she can't do because Lila is her friend and she doesn't want to be like Eve. Well, Eve started dating her best friends boyfriend when he was still dating her best friend.. *sighs*
Bringing me to Eve, I don't like her. They make her the typical popular Queen Bee from books. She has everything, yet she is still a bitch. Buuuuuuuuuuut, I have looked ahead in the series and it looks like she might become nicer. But still, for now? Seriously, you can have any guy but you want your best friend boyfriend. I am disappointed in Max because he seemed great.
I also felt we didn't get enough Lila, I know this was Polly's book but Lila was the only character I still liked at the end of the book really..
Mainly because we didn't even have Josh in the story (Although I know he comes back in the future of the series!!
Anyway.. I did like this book and I already own the third one so I will be reading more and depending on this one because it's from the POV of Rhi, I am already debating about buying the other nine that have already been published.
I'm really enjoying this series but the only criticism I have is the endings. They seem rushed and the writing a little wooden. It's as if the author is determined to stick to these books only being 200 pages.
I love and hate this series both at the same time. I love it due to the fact that it is an easy read, is in some places relatable and is have humorous moments. I hate this series for many more reasons though. In this book in particular, the relationship between Polly and Sam was just ridiculous! She was saved like she was a damsel in distress and the next thing you know they are kissing after knowing each other for 5 minutes and only knowing basic information about each other! That is never going to be the start of any healthy relationship! And then to want to stop dating him because he is moving to London, which has already been proved can be visited from Heartside Bay is, again, just utterly ridiculous! And finally the fact that she believes it might be acceptable to date your best-friend's boyfriend after they have broken up is just incomprehensible to me! You can never do that! Another fact that annoyed me was where was Josh?! He was my favourite character in the first book, where has he gone? However, despite all my problems with this series, I already have the third book so will be continuing. Also, for some reason, I find them hard books to put down!
This book probably would have been rated a 4 star if I were a bit younger. I gave this book three stars purely because I find it a bit of a young read. It's a cute, easy, quick read-a book that's all about dealing with family, friendships, first loves and making rational decisions, but at the same time following your heart. I didn't enjoy this book as much due to it seemingly being targeted at a young audience, say ages 13-16. The main character is only 15, and in that stage of their first love. Furthermore, the way it's written seems to be for a young audience. So I'd say this book is a good read for young adults who are going through those teenage years questioning themselves about love, friendship, family, self-confidence and that all-important decision making.
However, I would like to know what happens next, so I may just have to read another! ;)
Like The New Girl, this book was enjoyable enough, but also irritatingly predictable a lot of the time. And I just found this one a bit more annoying - some aspects of the storyline and the characters just weren't well explored enough for my liking. Also it's seeming like each novel is more a part of the series than an actual story in its own right - and that is just annoying! Still, I can see a lot of upper primary/lower secondary readers really enjoying this series.
Pretty standard book with a very basic plot. The characters don't come alive so there is little emotional connection to any of the events. The writing was simple and straightforward. Overall, an easy read with little depth.
This was such a sweet book and an easy read. But I hate it in books where they don't sum everything up! I like it where there is no questions at the end. People may find that boring as there is then no "imagination" but oh well!
