I read Tolkien and Hobb. I read Robert Jordan and Will Wight. I read all those classic fantasy books and when there was nothing left to read, I wrote my own stories, the ones I wanted to read but couldn't find.
I love epic fantasy. The battles, the creatures, the riveting stories and sweeping worlds. But I love the characters just as much. I love the intrigue, the politics, the strategy and the philosophy behind the magic systems. I love imaginary worlds that make sense, and I love characters that think logically.
I love exploring the depths of the warrior mindset. I love the emotions that life-changing events bring about, and if I can make my readers feel all those things, then that is what I most love about writing.
I hope you will read my stories and enjoy them, and if you do, I would love to hear from you.
Sons of Adakia is a strong continuation of R.K. Lander’s Silvan Outlands series, picking up where Dawn of Adakia left off. The novel delves deeper into its world, expanding on the political intrigue, magical elements, and complex character arcs that made the first book so engaging. The character development is a highlight, with each individual’s journey feeling genuine and impactful as they face increasingly difficult challenges. Lander’s ability to balance personal struggles with larger conflicts keeps the story both grounded and gripping. The intricate world-building and attention to detail are evident, enriching the narrative without overwhelming the reader. The plot is filled with tension and emotional depth, pushing characters into tough decisions and exploring themes of loyalty, sacrifice, and betrayal. While the action and intrigue are strong, it’s the emotional stakes that leave a lasting impression. Overall, Sons of Adakia is an engaging read for fans of epic fantasy, delivering on its promise to expand the series while keeping the heart of the Silvan Saga intact. It’s a solid follow-up that leaves readers eagerly anticipating what comes next.
When a patrol guarding the prince is massacred, the Crown Prince Yasir, Lord Orsala, and Ghiahan are presumed dead. Thinking that the Adaks are responsible, the Scandic citizens of Boscandor take to the streets and slaughter all the Adaks who were unable to escape to the Reserve. Son after, Fel’annar and Turion set out to find the truth about the attack.
Footnote: 1) According to the author-provided Boscandia map, Whiteoak and Greenfields are on opposite sides of Boscania. Yet the story makes it sound like they are close by and easier to get to than the city. Also, if Whiteoak was just attacked, why did the Greenfield group want to retreat there?
Fave scenes: Dorainen trying to visit the three survivors, Talanor’s biscuit, rescuing the wagon, and the Dohai.

I don't usually read a set of series starting at the end. However, this author is so good I did this time. As I wait for the next in this series, I'll start from the beginning.
Father, son and grand son are the hope for the future.
